• CSS. Placing footer at bottom of the webpage (not in the bottom of screen) in ASP Pages

  I have read a lot of approaches regarding placement of the footer in a webpage with CSS. Between others i found solutions, within SO too. The problem is (i think) that most of them, do not apply in asp pages. So the question is how can i place the footer with pure CSS in Asp pages? Before you post your answer, you have to take in mind the following. I use a master page (If this one has anything to do) The webpage contains the form element, which i believe destroys the placing of the footer in the bottom of the webpage. <form name="aspnetForm" method="post" action="Default.aspx" id="aspnetForm"> So, you may start down-voting, but i think a different approach exists regarding footer placement with CSS in Asp.Net pages

• Adding a comment system to my website

  Hey everyone, I'm trying to add some type of comment system to my website for the news that I post on the main page. What I would like it to do is have anybody comment on it (they don't need to login). The comment submission form just required a Name and comment. What would be the simplest way to do this? It would also be nice to have it display how many comments there currently are on the news post. I dont need anything fancy. Thanks!

  In my JSP page I am using post method while submitting the page. So once I go from Page 1 to page 2. In Page 2, If I press F5 I am getting alert as "To display this page, Firefox must send information that will repeat any action (such as a search or order confirmation) that was performed earlier." I knew this question is a bit sarcastic but please give me an Idea. I can't change my method from POST to GET because I need to send large amount of data. Thanks in advance... Edited: In my Page1.JSP I call onClick function in that function I call action as "/page2servlet.do". Now, In Java side I use Spring Framework. With MVC Object I return to page2.jsp. So where do the response.sendRedirect Fit.

  Hi All, Is it possible to post, say like a value in a textbox, to 2 different ajax forms that are on the same page? It doesn't have to be at the same time? What I'm trying to do is this: I have a search page that searches for customers and displays them on a paged grid. Users can specify up to 5 parameters (5 textboxes) to narrow the search. On the same page I have an export option. Well since I want all the customers for the search and not just the paged data I need a way to post back to the server for this option passing the same parameters used in the grid. I'm using a ViewModel which would be nice if I can pass that back to the server rather than the individual search fields that are backed by the view model. Thanks, rodchar

  what is the best way to check the strength of a password in iOS development? I came across this post: What is the best way to check the strength of a password? but this is not iOS specific. My question is - Does Apple or third party libraries provide any libraries by default which I can use to check if the user entered a secure password? If not, then as the above post says, is using regular expressions the best way? Does Apple have any requirements which our app needs to implement to make sure user has a secure password? I am planning on using the keychain to store the password.

It creates a record that associates a tag with a post in a QuestionsTags joiner table. When necessary, if a given tag does not already exist in the tags table, the function creates it, then uses its id to create the new record in the QuestionsTags table. The difficulty with this approach is the QuestionsTags table depends on data in the tags table which may or may not exist. • Facebook iframe app redirecting https to http, how?

  I'm trying to get an app working within Facebook, but it seems that no matter what I try including forcing just https in the app settings (see screen shot), the iframe source (Facebooks canvas) seems to change the https address to http (301) which is then producing SEC7111: HTTPS security errors in IE?   I want to build a system on the website, that allows users to do some things depend on their rating. For example I have rule for rating value X: 1 post in 3 days 10 comments in 1 day 20 votes in 2 days for rating value Y, rule may be following: 3 post in 1 day 50 comments in 1 day 30 votes in 1 day Each night I recalculate users' ratings, so I know what each user is able to do. Possibilities don't sum or reset on each rating's recalculation. One more important thing is that admin can fill concrete user's possibilities at any time. What is optimal database (MySQL) structure for desired? I can count what concrete user has done: SELECT COUNT(*) FROM posts WHERE UserID=XXX AND DateOfPost >= 'YYY' SELECT COUNT(*) FROM comments WHERE UserID=XXX AND CommentOfPost >= 'YYY' But how can I do admin filling possibilities in this case?

• Prevent Apache from answering invalid requests

  I have an Apache web-server that acts as a web front-end for iPhone and iPad applications that communicate by POST and JSON only. Is there any way to prevent Apache from answering requests that are invalid? I can see my error log is filled with attempts to open files such as /admin.php /index.php etc - files that don't exist on my server. I believe this is possible with IIS, but can you do the same thing with Apache? Basically I want the request to appear timed out unless you post exactly the right content to the right file - or at least if you do not request an existing file. This would make the server appear non-existing to everyone but my iPhone users as all communication is SSL and directories are not really guess-able. I did disable the ServerTokens and all that, but I still get File not found etc. when I access the server requesting a random file, which is what these bots do constantly.

In the current tablet implementation of my app, I have a fullscreen MapView with some informations displayed in a RelativeLayout on a left panel, like this: (My layout is quite trivial, and I guess there is no need to post it for readability) The problem comes when I want to center the map on a specific point... If I use this code: mapController.setCenter(point); I will of course get the point in the center of the screen and not in the center of the empty area.   I have a web application build on cakephp 2.x. I have integrated pagination on my data. Now i want to implement searching on that data also, and pagination should work according to search result. Now my question is: Should i use a form to post my search string. If so, then which method should i use, GET or POST. OR, should i use javascript window.location method, and append the search string to it. If we use this method then search string can append more than once to url. Or any other best way to implement this. Can anybody give the best solution for this as it is a common task for each application to have.

  I have a form with many many fields... When submitting these fields, I use the POST method which hides the actual variables passed along to the PHP page. However, I can't get rid of the complete link. Changing from GET to POST did make all the form fields invisible in the URL, but this part is still visible: mydomain.com/bin/query# I want it to be invisible, or say: mydomain.com/search I have mod_rewrite enabled so there is a possibility to do this with mod_rewrite I think, but I am new to mod_rewrite so I need your help... How should I hide this URL? If you need more input let me know...

• HTML anchor #bottom, only going half-way down page

I tried to solve this by using a unique id and name for the attributes: <a href="#bottom" id="4656" name="4656"> But this hasn't worked. Suggestions? P.S. Don't use the URL bar, yes that works. Visit the page and click on a link in a post that says "Bottom of the page". This is where it isn't working.
