• H12 timeout error on Heroku

  Can anyone shed some light on what's causing this timeout error on Heroku (at 2012-07-08T08:58:33+00:00)? The docs say that it's because of some long running process. I've set config.assets.initialize_on_precompile = false in config/application.rb. • ASP.NET site move to IIS7 results in gibberish characters in page output

  I have an ASP.NET site that was working fine running on Windows Server 2003 / IIS6. I moved it to Windows Server 2008 / IIS7 and the aspx page output now includes gibberish text. For example: p???? ????? The majority of the page renders properly, but there is gibberish here and there. I have checked the event logs and there is nothing. Any idea what's going on here? How can I fix this? I have noticed that this issue shows up when I include multiple Server.Execute statements in the aspx code: <% Server.Execute("/inc/top.inc"); %> <% Server.Execute("/inc/footer.inc"); %> The .inc files above contain just html. It appears that the files have to be of a significant length to cause the error. So for saving any instance in class A, how do i give it the userprofile object. Also, does making a class UserProfile mean that class user is still used and class UserProfile is just some other table?   I've been trying to experiment with developing Android applications with Scala. I've gotten to the point where I can get the app to compile, but there are no helper functions for things like: button.setOnClickListener( () => { text.setText("test") }) (I'm talking about the closure there) I see lots of references to scala-android.jar, and have this file in my project, but I'm not sure what it does, or how to use it. I get the feeling it has these helper conversion functions, but I'm not sure. It double-underlines some keywords on every page. On mouse hover I get an ad overlay from http[colon][slash][slash]intext.nav-links.com[slash] Upon right-clicking one of the text-enhanced keywords and going to 'inspect element', i see that the text has been wrapped around with a CSS classname called adtext. It even shows the .adtext CSS descriptions on the right. How do i determine from WHICH particular extension is this CSS classname being injected into my pages?

MyViewController used to have an IBOutlet called 'toolbar' that connected to a UIToolbar object in a nib. I decided I no longer needed the toolbar or the nib so I removed them from the project. But Xcode seems to still want to refer to 'toolbar'. Where might the reference to toolbar be if I no longer use a nib? I can synthesize a dummy 'toolbar' property to appease Xcode, but I want to avoid this kind of ugly hack.

I'm trying to match the class for the active image with an tag so that I can add an "active" class to the a tag. Having some trouble writing that function. It's adding all of the classes for each of the img elements, regardless of whether they're being displayed or not... • Properties in partial class not appearing in Data Sources window!

  Entity Framework has created the required partial classes. I can add these partial classes to the Data Sources window and the properties display as expected. However, if I extend any of the classes in a separate source file these properties do not appear in the Data Sources window even after a build and refresh. All properties in partial classes across source files work as expected in the Data Sources window except when the partial class has been created with EF. EDIT: After removing the offending table for edm designer, adding back in it all works are expected. Hardly a long term solution. Anyone else come across a similar problem?

I have a menu and if one hovers over the menu a sub menu appears and if mouse moves out the sub menu disappears, now I want the following if I click on the on a item in the sub menu, I want the sub-menu to remain open, when the new page has been loaded.   I want to write a module (framework specific), that would wrap and extend Facebook PHP-sdk (https://github.com/facebook/php-sdk/). My problem is - how to organize classes, in a nice way. So getting into details - Facebook PHP-sdk consists of two classes: BaseFacebook - abstract class with all the stuff sdk does Facebook - extends BaseFacebook, and implements parent abstract persistance-related methods with default session usage Now I have some functionality to add: Facebook class substitution, integrated with framework session class shorthand methods, that run api calls, I use mostly (through BaseFacebook::api()), authorization methods, so i don't have to rewrite this logic every time, configuration, sucked up from framework classes, insted of passed as params caching, integrated with framework cache module I know something has gone very wrong, because I have too much inheritance that doesn't look very normal.Wrapping everything in one "complex extension" class also seems too much. I think I should have few working togheter classes - but i get into problems like: if cache class doesn't really extend and override BaseFacebook::api() method - shorthand and authentication classes won't be able to use the caching. Maybe some kind of a pattern would be right in here? How would you organize these classes and their dependencies? It's all very tight coupled - like look how i had to specify 'Facebook_Custom::api' instead of 'parent:api', to avoid api() method loop on Facebook_Cache class extending. Overall mess and ugliness. So again, this works but I'm just asking about patterns / ways of doing this in a cleaner and smarter way.

• Tabular (X)HTML forms

  I have a set of items that can be in various states. I want to allow a user to use an (X)HTML form to change the state, and easily view the state of a group of objects ...so to this end, I'd like a layout like: | item1 | radio button for state 1 | radio for state 2 | ... | [update button] | | item2 | radio button for state 1 | radio for state 2 | ... | [update button] | etc. I prefer the radio buttons to list boxes so that it's easy for a user to visually scan for things in a certain state. It seemed like perfectly tabular data to me. The only problem is, you can't have forms inside a table that cross table cells (ie. <tr> <form> <td> ... is invalid). I thought, "hey, I could have one giant form wrapping a table, and make the [update button] value contain the IDs for each row!" Turns out certain versions of IE send ALL THE SUBMIT BUTTON VALUES on any single form. So I thought perhaps to to lay it out with <div>s and place the forms inside a single <td>. But then they break a line on each <div>. So I fixed their width and made them float: left. But then they wrap inside the table cells if the table row is wider than the page, and the radio controls don't line up with the headings. Is it possible to lay this out as I intend? The XHTML below shows the intended structure. • Is there any way to automatically break into debugger when my class library functions are getting ca

  I have a managed class library (say mylib.dll) and a 3rd party managed app (say app.exe) which is using mylib.dll. I have the code of mylib.dll but not of the app.exe. So currently what i do is i build mylib.dll, copy it to app.exe's directory, start app.exe and attach to the process. That way if i put breakpoints in code mylib.dll , i see them being hit. But is there anyway to automatically break in code of mylib.dll whenever any external application calls one of its exposed methods ? ie. Only for entrypoints of the dll. thanks, Mishal
