• evaluating buffer in emacs python-mode on remote host

  Hello, I'm using emacs23 with tramp to modify python scripts on a remote host. I found that when I start the python shell within emacs it starts up python on the remote host. My problem is that when I then try to call python-send-buffer via C-c C-c it comes up with the error Traceback (most recent call last): File "", line 1, in ? ImportError: No module named emacs Traceback (most recent call last): File "", line 1, in ? NameError: name 'emacs' is not defined Now, I must admit that I don't really know what's going on here. Is there a way for me to configure emacs so that I can evaluate the buffer on the remote host? Many thanks.

• C# Assembly Xna.Framework.dll does not load

  When trying to load Microsoft.Xna.Framework.dll from any project, it throws a FileNotFoundException. The specified module could not be found. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x8007007E), with no innerException. Even the simple code like the following throws that exception: static void Main(string[] args) { Assembly.LoadFile(@"C:\Microsoft.Xna.Framework.dll"); } I run XP x64, but I've set the platform in the configuration manager to x86, because I know it shouldn't(doesn't) work on x64 or Any CPU. I've manually added the dll file to GAC, but that didn't solve the problem. I have also tried the M$ Assembly Binding Log Viewer to see if those logs had any useful information, but they didn't. Everything, the loading etc, was a success according to them. Any suggestions? please?

  From assembly(or module) perspective, what do you think of separation of Interface (1.assembly) and its Implementation (2.assembly)? In this way we can use some IoC container to develop more decoupling desing.. Say we have an assembly 'A', which contains interfaces only. Then we have an assembly 'B' which references 'A' and implements those interfaces..It is dependent only on 'A'. In assembly 'C' then we can use the IoC container to create objects of 'A' using dependency injection of objects from 'B'. This way 'B' and 'C' are completely unaware (not dependent) of themselves..

• What's the .proto equivalent of List<T> in protobuf-net?

  To keep some consistency, we use code generation for a lot of our object models, and one of the offshoots of that has been generating the .proto files for ProtocolBuffers via a separate generation module. At this point though, I'm stumped at how to implement the generation for when it happens upon a List<T> object. It looks like this is possible via contracts: [ProtoMember(1)] public List<SomeType> MyList {get; set;} but outside of that, I'm not sure how or if it's possible to do this only from creating the .proto file/using the VS custom tool. Any thoughts?

• Symfony 1.3 and forms: the password changes when i click on 'Save', why??

  Hi, i have installed sfDoctrineGuardUser and have created this model that inherits sfGuardUser model: Usuario: inheritance: extends: sfGuardUser type: simple columns: nombre_apellidos: string(60) sexo: boolean fecha_nac: date provincia: string(60) localidad: string(255) email_address: string(255) avatar: string(255) avatar_mensajes: string(255) I have also created a module called 'miembros' based on that model. Well, I log normally through sfGuardAuth/signin, then i go to "miembros/edit/id/$id_of_the_member_i_used_to_log_in" and push 'Save' button. Then i logout. If i try to log in again, it says: "The username and/or password is invalid". Later, i have realized that when click 'Save' the value of the field 'password' changes (well its encrypted version). So that is the reason why i can not then log in. But, why the value of the password change when i click on 'Save' ??? Regards Javi

  When creating an sfPropelRouteCollection, how can I edit the action names that the collection will generate? For example: # Routing for "product" CRUD product: class: sfPropelRouteCollection options: model: Product module: product actions: [new, create, edit, update, delete] How can I change the actual action that is called for any of the new/create/edit/update/delete methods? I'd like for them to call "ajaxNew," "ajaxCreate," etc. so the URL would look something like "product/ajaxNew", or the action for "update" would be "ajaxUpdate". • Redirect Using htaccess

  I am trying to redirect /folder to / using .htaccess but all am I getting is the Apache HTTP Server Test Page. My root directory looks like this: / .htaccess -/folder -/folder2 -/folder3 My .htaccess looks like this: RewriteEngine On RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} !^/folder/ RewriteRule ^(.*)$ folder/$1 [L] What am I doing wrong? I checked my httpd.conf (I'm running Centos 5.3) and the mod_rewrite library is being loaded. As a side note, my server is not a www server, its simply a virtual machine so its hostname is centosvm. Addition: I have found that the mod_rewrite module is loaded, but none of my .htaccess redirects seem to be working.

• IIS7 or .Net 301 Redirects from 1 domain to another

  I have 2 domains. For the question, I will call them www.old.com and www.new.com. Both urls are pointing to the same IIS7 Site instance. I need to it up so that when someone goes to www.old.com they get a 301 redirect to www.new.com. The tricky part is I am using URL rewrites for pages within the site. So www.old.com/About.aspx redirects to www.new.com/About. To get that to work with IIS7 URL rewrite rules, it also means that www.new.com/About.aspx redirects to www.new.com/About. That is fine and is not a big deal. My issue is how do I redirect the main domain without losing the URL Rewrites from the sub pages? I don't care if I use a module within IIS7 or if I need to do it in .NET code.

• Zend Framework Modules can't find/load Models..

  For some frustrating reason, I configured some Modules, which seemed to work fine, However I cannot load a Modules Models. If I move the Models to the Default they load, but I just can't get the Framework to find them locally.. Example: My Modules Directory is: application\modules\books\models\books.php (books is my Model) class Application_Module_Books_Model_Books extends Zend_Db_Table_Abstract {} I also tried.. Books_Model_Books, Model_Books, books, Modules_.. you name it I tried it :) My controller is in the Books Module, and is an Index Controller, and it can never find the Local Model. I'm using Application.ini and it is configured this way: resources.frontController.controllerDirectory = APPLICATION_PATH "/controllers" resources.frontController.params.displayExceptions = 1 resources.frontController.moduleDirectory = APPLICATION_PATH "/modules" I have a BootStrap in the Modules Directory: class Admin_Bootstrap extends Zend_Application_Module_Bootstrap { } I'm on Zend Framework 1.10, and ideas.. ?

• cross-user C# mutex

  My app is forced to use a 3rd party module which will blue-screen Windows if two instances are started at the same time on the same machine. To work around the issue, my C# app has a mutex: static Mutex mutex = new Mutex(true, "{MyApp_b9d19f99-b83e-4755-9b11-d204dbd6d096}"); And I check if it's present - and if so I show an error message and close the app: bool IsAnotherInstanceRunning() { if (mutex.WaitOne(TimeSpan.Zero, true)) return (true); else return (false); } The problem is if two users can log in and open the application at the same time, and IsAnotherInstanceRunning() will return false. How do I get around this?

  I have a form (Quote) with an auto-number ID, on the form at the moment are two subforms that show different items (sub 1 shows partition modules sub 2 shows partition abutments) both forms use the same parts tables to build them. Both forms are linked to the quote form using the ID. All works well until the forms is refreshed or re-loaded, subform 1 shows the module names and quantities and blank spaces for the abutment names but shows the quantiews for the abutments, the reverse of this is shown in the abutments subform 2. When the lists for the variuos types and the detailed parts lists are printed they are correct. This seems to be only a visual problem. All based on Access 2003. • Run shell script using fabric and piping script text to shell's stdin

  Is there a way to execute a multi-line shell script by piping it to the remote shell's standard input in fabric? Or must I always write it to the remote filesystem, then run it, then delete it? I like sending to stdin as it avoids the temporary file. If there's no fabric API (and it seems like there is not based on my research), presumably I can just use the ssh module directly. Basically I wish fabric.api.run was not limited to a 1-line command that gets passed to the shell as a command line argument, but instead would take a full multi-line script and write it to the remote shell's standard input.

  I've created a simple application .Net Class that converts an excel spreadsheet into a a pdf file. I then get a Excel 2007 application to call this dll which works fine on my development machine. However when i deploy it on to a machine that has both the .net framework and excel 2007, i get this error - run-time error '429' activex component can't create object when i try and register the tlb or the dll , i get error below. the module c:\temp\test\Printlibarary.dll2 was loaded but the entry-point dllregisterserver was not found. Make sure that ...... is a valid dll or ocx file and then try again. Can someone please help me to resolve this.

• Drupal 7: cancel user registration if a wrong field value has been submitted.

Is there a way to cancel user registration, when a new user submits the registration web form with the default Robot value? (i.e. only Male and Female values are allowed). I've looked at the core Trigger module, but don't see anything suitable there. I've looked at the hook_user_presave and hook_user_insert API docs, but don't see a way there to cancel an ongoing user registration. (I was expecting to do that by returning a special value from those methods...) Thank you! Alex

• How to extract URL parameters from a URL with Ruby or Rails?

  Hi, I have some URLs, like http://www.example.com/something?param1=value1&param2=value2&param3=value3, and I would like to extract the parameters from these URLs and get them in a Hash. Obviously, I could use regular expressions, but I was just wondering if there was easier ways to do that with Ruby or Rails. I haven't found anything in the Ruby Module 'URI' but perhaps I missed something. In fact, I need a method that would do that : extract_parameters_from_url("http://www.example.com/something?param1=value1&param2=value2&param3=value3") => {:param1 => 'value1', :param2 => 'value2', :param3 => 'value3'} Would you have some advices?   Hello, Do I need to do something different in an abstract class to get dependency injection working with Ninject? I have a base controller with the following code: public abstract class BaseController : Controller { public IAccountRepository AccountRepository { get; set; } } My module looks like this: public class WebDependencyModule : NinjectModule { public override void Load() { Bind<IAccountRepository>().To<AccountRepository>(); } } And this is my Global.asax: protected override void OnApplicationStarted() { Kernel.Load(new WebDependencyModule()); } protected override IKernel CreateKernel() { return new StandardKernel(); } It works when I decorate the IAccountRepository property with the [Inject] attribute. Pyparsing looked like a better answer but i haven't found a way to declare all the grammars. • C# progress bar not synced with download (WebClient class)

  Hi, I am coding a system which has a small FTP module included inside, it's not the main feature at all, but needed... I must link the progressbar with the WebClient class event DownloadProgressChangedEventHandler and AsyncCompletedEventHandler, the progressbar increment is ok, and the ASyncCompletedEventHandler launch a MessageBox (as intended), the problem is that the progress bar see to load too slow... problem : My MessageBox pop at 100% (launched by the event handler), BUT when the MessageBox pop my progress bar is only at +-80% (but the .VALUE is really 100), the first though I had was that they have added a "smooth" effect in Windows Vista which slow down the progressbar relatively to it's true value. If any of you have experienced the same problem thanks for your help.
