  • Redirect Google crawler to different robots.txt via .htaccess

    I have googled for the answer all day and still couldn't find an answer. I have a virtual subdomain www.static.example.com which is a mirror site of www.example.com. It means I have just one root folder for subdomain and domain aswell. I want to redirect crawlers to different robots.txt file - robots_static.txt when they see .static in url in which I will forbid indexing via /disallow command. I want to do this because I have duplicated content in Google search results. Subdomain is showing the exact same content as the main domain. Does anyone know how could I achieve that crawlers sees robots_static.txt instead of robots.txt?   • Adobe AIR - file locked by air

    Hello I am downloading and storing files locally in the app storage domain. For some reason one of the files gets locked by air. I found this by looking at process explorer. If I clear the browser cache the file never gets locked, only if it attempts to download the file but it exists in browser cache does air lock the damn file. Please can you help? Neil

Assumptions about system: It has L1 and L2 cache (may be L3 too, may be cache sharing), It may have a hardware prefetch unit (just like P4+), It has a stable clocksource (tickcounter or good HPET for gettimeofday). There are no assumptions about OS (it can be Linux, Windows, or something non-standard), and we can't use POSIX queries. Language is C. And compiler optimizations may be disabled.

My use case is that I want to allocate dynamically most of the memory available at the time of its creation but I don't want OutOFMemoryError at any time in future.     There is a bug in Grails preventing me from using removeFrom* when the node I'm trying to remove is extending the collection type. Removing the node directly from the association won't update the second level cache. A hasMany B Is there any way to manually invalidate or force a reload on an association cache? Invoking refresh() on the many side didn't do the trick.

    I need to test if my 304 responses are working, but my development environment is pretty hard set on force no-cache. Is there an easy way to modify the max-age value of the cache-control header before it goes out? I'm perhaps a bit optimistic in hoping chrome (or an extension, or FF) has a console command letting me alter the if-modified-since header then send the request. Maybe paste something into a telnet connection?

I've been following a tutorial and a sample application, namely 5 Days of Wicket - Writing the tests: http://www.mysticcoders.com/blog/2009/03/10/5-days-of-wicket-writing-the-tests/ I've set up my own little project with a simple shoutbox that saves messages to a database. I then wanted to set up a couple of tests that would make sure that if a message is stored in the database, the retrieved object would contain the exact same data. Upon running mvn test all my tests fail. The exception has been pasted in the first code box underneath.     Hi everyone. I'm study recommendation engines, and I went through the paper that defines how Google News generates recommendations to users for news items which might be of their interest, based on collaborative filtering. One interesting technique that they mention is Minhashing. I went through what it does, but I'm pretty sure that what I have is a fuzzy idea and there is a strong chance that I'm wrong. The following is what I could make out of it :- Collect a set of all news items. Define a hash function for a user. This hash function returns the index of the first item from the news items which this user viewed, in the list of all news items. Collect, say "n" number of such values, and represent a user with this list of values. Based on the similarity count between these lists, we can calculate the similarity between users as the number of common items. This reduces the number of comparisons a lot. Based on these similarity measures, group users into different clusters. This is just what I think it might be. In Step 2, instead of defining a constant hash function, it might be possible that we vary the hash function in a way that it returns the index of a different element. So one hash function could return the index of the first element from the user's list, another hash function could return the index of the second element from the user's list, and so on. So the nature of the hash function satisfying the minwise independent permutations condition, this does sound like a possible approach. Could anyone please confirm if what I think is correct? Or the minhashing portion of Google News Recommendations, functions in some other way? I'm new to internal implementations of recommendations. Any help is appreciated a lot. Thanks!

    I need to install chrome in a dedicated centos server where I only access via ssh, it doesn't have X or any windows graphical stuff. I need it to be able to pack extensions using google-chrome --pack-extension. I tried adding this to /etc/yum.repos.d/google.repo [google-chrome] name=google-chrome - 32-bit baseurl=http://dl.google.com/linux/chrome/rpm/stable/i386 enabled=1 gpgcheck=1 gpgkey=https://dl-ssl.google.com/linux/linux_signing_key.pub And then yum install google-chrome-stable, but there's a huge list of dependencies problems: How can I install chrome without breaking anything else? That seems to be a very simple request and still is using more than a second of cpu. What I am missing?

  • SEO - Does google+other search engines index links within <noscript> tags?

    I have setup some dropdown menus allowing users to find pages on my website by selecting options across multiple dropdowns: eg. Color of Car, Year This would generate a link like: mysite.xyz/blue/2010/ The only problem is, because this link is dynamically assembled with Javascript, I've also had to assemble each possible combination from the dropdowns into a list like: <noscript> No javascript enabled? Here are all the links: <a href='mysite.xyz/blue/2009/'>mysite.xyz/blue/2009/</a> <a href='mysite.xyz/blue/2010/'>mysite.xyz/blue/2010/</a> <a href='mysite.xyz/red/2009/'>mysite.xyz/red/2009/</a> <a href='mysite.xyz/red/2010/'>mysite.xyz/red/2010/</a> </noscript> My question is, if I put these in a tag like this, will I be penalized or anything by search engines such as Google? I've already been doing so for some navigational stuff which required offsets etc. However, now I would be listing a whole list of links here too. I want to provide them here, moreso so that google can actually index my pages - but for those without javascript, they can still navigate too. Your thoughts? Also.. even though I have some links that appear to have been indexed, I AM NOT 100% SURE, which is why I'm asking :P

  • Broken JS Loop with Google Maps...

    My code is below, and I had an issue with nearly the same code, and it was fixed here on StackOverflow, but, again, its not working. I haven't changed the working code, but i did wrap it in the for...in loop youll see below.
