    I couldn't find a place to feedback about this so apologies if I shouldn't have post this as a question here. Would it be possible for the admins of the site to change the links we post in our answers to have their target as _blank. It is quite hard when it is _self as we look at those urls in correlation with what the post is about so I wouldn't want it to replace the post.

  • Securing Coredata objects

    I am working on an application which has got some sensitive information. I am aware that it would be difficult for a layman to hack into iphone to get the information. If I use SQLite directly I have something called SQLite Cipher to encrypt / encode the database. Is there anyway where I can have the same way of encrypting the coredata so it makes it hard for hackers to get into the data. Can someone shed some light on this? Thanks in Advance

  • How do you draw a string centered vertically in Java?

    I know it's a simple concept but I'm struggling with the font metrics. Centering horizontally isn't too hard but vertically seems a bit difficult. I've tried using the FontMetrics getAscent, getLeading, getXXXX methods in various combinations but no matter what I've tried the text is always off by a few pixels. Is there a way to measure the exact height of the text so that it is exactly centered.

Most links I read starting at Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Automatic_Identification_System) say that AIS data is freely available but I'm having a hard time finding a provider of the data.     When a cell in a spreadsheet contains a simple date (mm/dd/yyyy) the poi API flags the cell-type as 'numeric'. This is probably because spreadsheets ( IMO ) historically recognize only strings and real numbers. It is possible to hard-code the cell-index, and use it conditionally to call 'getDateCellValue'. But this feels like a hack. What other ways are there in the poi API to determine whether the content in a cell is a Date rather than a real number?

    Kind of hard to explain, but when I run something like this: fruits = ['apple', 'orange', 'banana', 'strawberry', 'kiwi'] for fruit in fruits: print fruit.capitalize() It gives me this, as expected: Apple Orange Banana Strawberry Kiwi How would I edit that code so that it would "count" the amount of times it's performing the for, and print this? 1 Apple 2 Orange 3 Banana 4 Strawberry 5 Kiwi

    Hi, On my Windows machine, my main hard drive has the letter C: and the name "Local disk". To list the drive letters in Java on Windows, the File object has the static listRoots() method.     In my Java application I have to custom-paint a control and for that I need to use the same font colors as JButton. (Enabled an disabled) I don't want to to hard-code them, because the user can change the Substance skin at runtime. I'm aware of the ColorSchemes but I'm not sure how to proceed once I have the color scheme of the current skin. Also the Substance documentation says something about creating your own color scheme, but I just can't figure out the way to retrieve a certain color.

It obviously is not bullet proof, but it should be good enough to thwart someone scanning the database with a hex editor, or make it hard for someone who has the skills to use a debugger to trace the code to work out, either by scanning for the encrypted password, or using a debugger to run through the decryption code. In other words all vertex's which have somewhere under them (on the way to the leaf nodes) one or more of the vertexs input. So if the vertexs were Nodes, and the edges were a depends on relationship, find all nodes that would be impacted by a given set of nodes. If not how hard is it to write one's own algorithms?
