  hello everyone i have a complex query to be written but cannot figure it out here are my tables Sales --one row for each sale made in the system SaleProducts --one row for each line in the invoice (similar to OrderDetails in NW) Deals --a list of possible deals/offers that a sale may be entitled to DealProducts --a list of quantities of products that must be purchased in order to get a deal now im trying to make a query which will tell me for each sale which deals he may get the relevant fields are: Sales: SaleID (PK) SaleProducts: SaleID (FK), ProductID (FK) Deals: DealID (PK) DealProducts: DealID(FK), ProductID(FK), Mandatories (int) for required qty i believe that i should be able to use some sort of cross join or outer join, but it aint working here is one sample (of about 30 things i tried) SELECT DealProducts.DealID, DealProducts.ProductID, DealProducts.Mandatories, viwSaleProductCount.SaleID, viwSaleProductCount.ProductCount FROM DealProducts LEFT OUTER JOIN viwSaleProductCount ON DealProducts.ProductID = viwSaleProductCount.ProductID GROUP BY DealProducts.DealID, DealProducts.ProductID, DealProducts.Mandatories, viwSaleProductCount.SaleID, viwSaleProductCount.ProductCount the problem is that it doesnt show any product deals that r not fullfiled (probably because of the productid join). i need that also sales that dont have the requiremnets show up, then i can filter out any saleid that exists in this query "where AmountBought thank you for your help

• Layout Problem on Bigger resolution Phone like Nexus one?

  dear friends, i have created application using layout font sizes in "pixels" font and other layout looks fine on HTC hero and Motorola Droid but in nexus one which is bigger resolution phone every thing is messed up. for example , i have used font 18px which is bigger size in HTC Hero and Motorola but in Nexus one it is looking very small. same is the case with image height and width a banner looks fine on both phones but in nexus one very small. actually we dont have height and width in percentage thats why i am not able to solve this problem. layout_width="fill_parent" also not helping.. kindly help me out what should i do to make application look same in all the phones with different resolutions.

• asp.net app slow and not rendering but .txt file works fine?

  i have a load balanced set of 2 servers running a .net application that is loading slow and not at all to the point the load balancer is redirecting me and my users to our dr server. i added a hard coded file to both servers to tell what server is working and not. both pull the txt file and display its contents in no time. however the asp.net pages dont render. the DB is not sweating and even a plain .aspx page doesnt come up. any thoughts on trouble shooting this?

  I am trying to retrieve file path for a html file that is embedded in resource (resx file) in VS2008 C# project. I want to give path of this file to native webbrowser control (PIEHtml) to be able to navigate (DTM_NAVIGATE) in my application. I know I can pass the string to this control using DTM_ADDTEXTW but since html text size is so big, I dont want to pass string to the control. I need to somehow extract the file path for this html file embedded inside resource manager. I tried using but this does not give the file path of html inside assembly: private ResourceManager resManager = new ResourceManager("AppName.FolderName.FileName", System.Reflection.Assembly.GetExecutingAssembly()); this.lbl.Text = resManager.GetString("StringInResources"); and also read Retrieving Resources in Satellite Assemblies but it did not solve my problem. Can somebody please provide info as to how to achieve this ?

  I need property name in my app and I use next code to get it string PropertyName =SomeClass.GetType().GetProperty("Category").Name; But I think that is bad idea. Because I use web service classes and I dont know when property names can be changed. This code give me exception only in runtime. But if I write something like this SomeClassInstance.Property.GetProperyName i get exception in moment of compilation and repair this problem. Is it possible to get property name dynamically?

  Hi guys, I have created windows service project in vs2008. I have created simple serivce project and implemented simple serivce sucessfully. Unlike other application i cannot run service exe file, so I had to first installed service using ServiceInstaller in my service project. Now i am building setup project for my service (MSI). In that setup project I am trying to add the output from my service project to my setup project by follwing below step 1. Right Click **Setup roject** in solution explorer and then click add and then click project output. 2.Now it open up *project output group dialog box* but now problem is this dialog box is empty and not allowing me to select service project. Now i dont know how to add the service projet to my setup project any help would be appriciated. Thank you guys.

• CF - DataGrid onClick event (or similar) for the cell / row ?

  I want to use DataGrid. I parse the data from an XML. In the XML for each row i have a tag that holds a specific command. I want that the user can click on any cell of the row (or a specific one), and i need to catch the click event execute the command and redirect to another form... I can do this with custom control made of panels and buttons and such ... but can u use DataGrid to achieve this? Also i tested Datagrid and i noticed that on some emulators (like 6.5 VGA) clicking the cells dont work. I can click the first cell in a row, but i cannot click the second... third... etc. Any suggestions?

I've search a lot with no luck. My idea is to preview zip files from the dropbox using its API but i dont want to save the files to a local drive, just preview the content. Any idea if that's possible with php? Almost everything i found is about creating the file, not reading it... :-\ I was thinking that i might try with nodejs, but i know mostly nothing about nodejs, do you think it would support it?   I am making a small C++ framework, which contains many .h and .cpp. I have created a general include which include all my .h file such as: framework.h #include "A.h" #include "B.h" #include "C.h" each .h header are protected with include guard such as #ifndef A_HEADER #define A_HEADER ... #endif The issues is, I would like to be able to include "framework.h" inside all the sub .h such as, but it cause lots of compiler error: #ifndef A_HEADER #define A_HEADER #include "framework.h" ... #endif If instead I use the real header file for each sub header, and the framework.h for what ever use my framework it works fine.. I would just like to include the main header inside all my sub .h so I dont need to include all the dependency everytime. Thanks :)

• How to avoid becoming a programmer while still beign closely involved with computer science/Industry

  I am studying computer science (A masters at an Ivy league), however most of the jobs i find involve way too much of programming. And frankly programming is not an issue, however programming without a meaning (read financial institution (non trading), other non mainstream jobs) bore me to death! I dont want to end up becoming a .NET,C#, Java kind of programmer. Can someone tell where i should look for jobs if i wish to do some real computer science work such as Machine Learning etc. I don't mind programming but becoming a Financial Software dev at Bloomeberg or an SDET at Microsoft isn't actually one of my goals.   Let say here is my stack layout View3 --> Top of the stack View2 View1 HomeView --> Bottom of the stack So I am in View3 now, if I click the Home button, I want to load HomeView, meaning that I need to pop View3, View2, and View1. But if I pop View3, View2 will be displayed. I dont want that. I want View3, View2, and View1 be removed, and HomeView will be displayed. Any idea how?

  I'm trying to have a button on the self.navigationItem.rightButton that toggles a segmented control that is placed in self.navgivationItem.titleView .. this will however remove the title that is first set by self.title when the navbar is created .. I dont know if my approach is bad but I figured I could rotate between a UILabel and the Segmented Control in the titleView. It works as I would like it to, however I cant figure out what size and font and shadowoffset and shadowcolor the default titles in a navigation bar is .. could you help me with a solution that either not force me to override the navigationItem.titleView or help me figure out the information needed to make a UILabel look exactly like the default titles. Thankful for any help.

• Problem in serializing

  Hello Guyz, Presently I need to serialize one of my object which contains more my own classes object. But the problem is I dont want to save it in a file and then retrieve it into memory stream. Is there any way to directly serialize my object into stream. I used BinaryFormatter for seializing. First I used a MemoryStream directly to take serialize output but it is giving error at time of deserialization. But later when I serialize it with a file then close it and again reopen it , it works perfectly. But I want to take it direct into stream because in my program I need to do it frequently to pass it into network client. And using file repeatedly might slow down my software. Hope I clear my problem. Any Sugetion ?

  Hi all, I have an extended userprofile with AUTH_PROFILE_MODULE (ref: http://tinyurl.com/yhracqq) I would like to set a user.is_guru() method similar to user.is_active(). This would results for al views (or rather templates) to e.g. disable/enable certain user messages, displaying of widgets, etc. The boolean is stored in the extended user profile model, but I want to avoid hitting the DB for every view. So the questions is .. Do I use a context_processor, a template tag, session_dict or what have you to, possible cached, store this info for the duration of the users visit. Note: I dont have performance issues, so it's definitely filed under premature optimization. I just want to avoid generating extra work in the future :). Any pointers are very welcome. • How to detect touchEvent across multiple objects?

  In short: I need to find a way to implement swipe action (touchEvent) for my Calendar just like the default Android Calendar one. I am using GridView to make a calendar for my application. When I touch any date, I launch an activity to display details on that date. My problem is that now I tried to implement swipe to change month/year to display but I dont know a way to do it. I tried to use setOnTouchListener on GridView but it seems like detecting for each grid separately instead of the whole grid as one. Further problem would be that it overridden my onItemClick implementation as well.
