  Hello, I'm currently developing in GAE and I have to query like this using JDO: SELECT table1.column1, table2.column2 FROM table1, table2 WHERE table1.column1 = table2.column1; I tried this one but it won't work: String query = "select from "+Assessment.class.getName()+ "a, "+ Project.class.getName()+" p where a.projectId == p.id && p.owner=='"+owner+"'"; Is this valid or this really isn't supported yet?   I want to use mod-rewrite to check for a file in two separate locations: at the requested URL, and at the requested URL within the "public" directory.   Given the following: I have an application that allows people to login through twitter, myspace, yahoo, and google User creates initial account by logging in through Google User logs out User logs back in using Yahoo. ...is there a recommended way for the application to associate those two accounts together? Stack Overflow has this functionality but it seems like they need the user to manually say "this account google account is associated with that yahoo one". Is there no way to do this automatically?

• same flash file (.swf) downloaded multiple times on a page

  I have a page that has a table with each row corresponding to an audio file. The last cell in each row embeds a simple flash audio player. The problem is that the flash file for the player is being downloaded for each row separately and as soon as rows go beyond 40-50 it crashes the browser. I tried using different players (1pixelout, flash-mp3-player) and the problem is still there, so its not a player specific issue. Is there any way to cache the player so that it is only downloaded once?

• Dealing with multiple generics in a method call

  I've been dealing a lot lately with abstract classes that use generics. This is all good and fine because I get a lot of utility out of these classes but now it's making for some rather ugly code down the line. For example: abstract class ClassBase<T> { T Property { get; set; } } class MyClass : ClassBase<string> { OtherClass PropertyDetail { get; set; } } This implementation isn't all that crazy, except when I want to reference the abstract class from a helper class and then I have to make a list of generics just to make reference to the implemented class, like this below. class Helper { void HelpMe<C, T>(object Value) where C : ClassBase<T>, new() { DoWork(); } } This is just a tame example, because I have some method calls where the list of where clauses end up being 5 or 6 lines long to handle all of the generic data. What I'd really like to do is class Helper { void HelpMe<C>(object Value) where C : ClassBase, new() { DoWork(); } } but it obviously won't compile. I want to reference ClassBase without having to pass it a whole array of generic classes to get the function to work, but I don't want to reference the higher level classes because there are a dozen of those. Am I the victim of my own cleverness or is there an avenue that I haven't considered yet?

• Vertically Merge Multiple Tables in MySQL by Joint Primary Key

  Hello, I'll attempt to make my question as clear as possible. I'm fairly unexperienced with SQL, only know the really basic queries. In order to have a better idea I'd been reading the MySQL manual for the past few days, but I couldn't really find a concrete solution and my needs are quite specific. I've got 3 MySQL MyISAM tables: table1, table2 and table3. Each table has an ID column (ID, ID2, ID3 respectively), and different data columns. For example table1 has [ID, Name, Birthday, Status, ...] columns, table2 has [ID2, Country, Zip, ...], table3 has [ID3, Source, Phone, ...] you get the idea. The ID, ID2, ID3 columns are common to all three tables... if there's an ID value in table1 it will also appear in table2 and table3. The number of rows in these tables is identical, about 10m rows in each table. What I'd like to do is create a new table that contains (most of) the columns of all three tables and merge them into it. The dates, for instance, must be converted because right now they're in VARCHAR YYYYMMDD format. Reading the MySQL manual I figured STR_TO_DATE() would do the job, but I don't know how to write the query itself in the first place so I have no idea how to integrate the date conversion. So basically, after I create the new table (which I do know how to do), how can I merge the three tables into it, integrating into the query the date conversion?

  Hi, I guess it's a stupid question, but I don't get it :-( I wrote an R script, which creates heatmaps out of xls files. I am calling this R script with a Perl system call and pass over all the arguments. This all works fine. Now I wanted to make the R script less confusing by writing different functions in the R script, for example: args <- commandArgs(TRUE) parsexls <- function(filepath) { data <- read.xls(...) assign("data", data, globalenv()) } reorder <- function(var) { data <- data[order...] assign("data", data, globalenv()) } When I want to call the functions with parsexls(args[1]) reorder(args[2]) nothing happens. But when I place the parsexls(args[1]) in the script between the two functions shown above, the file is parsed correctly! The reorder(args[2]) seems never to be read. Any ideas what I am doing wrong? • .NET: Split web application into multiple DLLs?

  Is it possible to compile some code-behind (.cs) files (eg. all .cs file under a particular folder) into one DLL, and the rest into another DLL? We have some common codes and pages (aspx + cs files) that we want to use across many websites. We want this to compile into a DLL (eg. Common.dll). The rest of the files will be website-specific, unique to each website and should compile into another DLL (eg. Website3.dll) This is so that if we make changes to a common code-behind, we can just publish Common.dll onto all our websites. Is that possible using VS Web Developer Express 2008? Thanks in advance. EDIT: We are already using a class library, but not for pages (aspx+cs)

• Rails Multiple Table Inheritance question

  I am starting to implement an MTI solution and have a basic question. I have 3 physical models - SMSNotifications, EmailNotifications, TwitterNotifications and they are subclasses of notification. At times in my code, I want to say Notifications.find(:all)so that I can get a set of results sorted by their creation time. Then I want to do things based on their subclass. What is the way to write Notifications.find(:all) and have Rails look through the subclass tables and combine the results? Right now Rails still thinks I have a physical Notifications table which goes against my MTI design. I am also considering the possibility that I should be using STI instead. I would probably have 10 empty columns per row but if getting all notifications requires a query for each type of notification, then I feel like this could be a big issue. Thanks!

• Handling Application Logic in Multiple AsyncTask onPostExecute()s

  I have three simultaneous instances of an AsyncTask for download three files. When two particular ones finish, at the end of onPostExecute() I check a flag set by each, and if both are true, I call startActivity() for the next Activity. I am currently seeing the activity called twice, or something that resembles this type of behavior. Since the screen does that 'swipe left' kind of transition to the next activity, it sometimes does it twice (and when I hit back, it goes back to the same activity). It's obvious two versions of the activity that SHOULD only get called once are being put on the Activity stack. The only way I can find that this is possible is if both AsyncTasks' onPostExecute() executed SO simultaneously that they were virtually running the same lines at the same time, since I set the 'itemXdownloaded' flag to true right before I check for both and call startActivity(). But this is happening enough that it's very hard for me to believe that both downloads are finishing precisely at the same time and having their onPostExecute()s so close together... Any thoughts on what could be going on here?   I have a sql file test.sql used to run some SQL (create object / update / delete / insert) that can look like this CREATE TABLE test_dbi1 ( test_dbi_intr_no NUMBER(15) , test_dbi_name VARCHAR2(100); UPDATE mytable SET col1=1; CREATE TABLE test_dbi2 ( test_dbi_intr_no NUMBER(15) , test_dbi_name VARCHAR2(100); Usually, i would just use SQLPLUS (from within Perl) to execute this test.sql using this command : @test.sql Is there a way to do the same thing, using DBI in Perl ? So far, i found DBI can only execute one statement at a time, and without the ";" at the end.

Inside the HTML that calls this JavaScript code I find myself in need of knowing if a certain function from helpers.js has been called. I have attempted to create a global variable by defining: var myFunctionTag = true; In global scope both in my HTML code and in helpers.js. • Locking down multiple sites in Sitecore

  Hi I have two sites running under one Sitecore 6 installation. The home nodes of the sites are as such: /sitecore/content/Home /sitecore/content/Careers Assuming the primary site is at domain.com, the careers site can be accessed at careers.domain.com. My problem is that, by prefixing the uri with /sitecore/content/, any sitecore item can be accessed by either (sub)domain. For example, I can get to: http://domain.com/sitecore/content/careers.aspx (should be under careers.domain.com) http://careers.domain.com/sitecore/content/home/destinations.aspx (should be under domain.com). I know I can redirect these urls (using IIS7 Redirects or ISAPIRewrite) but is there any way to 'lock' Sitecore down to only serve items under the configured home node for that domain? Thanks, Adam

  So a Regex pro I am not, and I'm looking for a good way to do this. I have a large string which contains a variable number <img> tags. I need to change the path on all of these images to images/. The large string also contains other stuff not just these img's. <img src='http://server.com/stuff1/img1.jpg' /> <img src='http://server.com/stuff2/img2.png' /> Replacing the server name with a ReplaceAll() I could do, it's the variable path in the middle I'm clueless on how to include. It doesn't necessarily need to be a regex, but looping through the entire string just seems wasteful.

  Hello, What i'm trying to achieve here is lets say we have two example urls: url1 "http://emy.dod.com/kaskaa/dkaiad/amaa//////////" & url2 = "http://www.example.com/". How can I extract the striped down urls? url1 : "http://emy.dod.com/kaskaa/dkaiad/amaa" & url2 to "http://http://www.example.com"? URI.parse in ruby sanitizes certain type of malformed url but is ineffective in this case. If we use regex then /^(.*)\/$/ removes a single slash (/) from url1 & is ineffective for url2. Is anybody aware of how to handle this type of url parsing? The point here is I dont want my system to have "http://www.example.com/" & "http://www.example.com" being treated as two different urls. And same goes for "http://emy.dod.com/kaskaa/dkaiad/amaa////" & "http://emy.dod.com/kaskaa/dkaiad/amaa/" cheers, -dg
