  • Animating Reloading of UITableView

    I am trying to animate table rows in a UITableView in an iPhone project as I swipe across the screen to reload the data. When I disable animations and only call reloadData, table continues responding to swipe gestures. When I add animations with the reloadSections:WithRowAnimation: method, table stops responding to swipes, and only the navigation bar at the top responds to swipes. Another change is that, table starts responding to selection and I have to manually disable it again. I suspect these two issues might be related.   • Auto populate input based on file name with AngularJS

    I am playing around with AngularJS and have not been able to solve this problem. I have a view that has a form to upload a file to a node server. So far I have manage to do this using some directives and a service. I allow the user to send a custom name to the POST data if they desire. What I wan to accomplish is that when the user selects a file the filename models auto populates. My view looks like: <div> <input file-model="phpFile" type="file"> <input name="filename" type="text" ng-model="filename"> <button ng-click="send()">send</button> </div> file-model is my directive that allows the file to be assigned to a scope. myApp.directive('fileModel', ['$parse', function($parse) { return { restrict: 'A', link: function(scope, element, attrs) { var model = $parse.(attrs.fileModel); var modelSetter = model.assign; element.bind('change', function() { scope.$apply(function() { modelSetter(scope, element[0].files[0]); }); }); } }]); The service: myApp.service('fileUpload', ['$http', function($http){ this.uploadFileToUrl = function(file, uploadUrl, optionals) { var fd = new FormData(); fd.append('file', file); for (var key in file) { fd.append(key, file[key]); } for(var i = 0; i < optionals.length; i++){ fd.append(optionals[i].name, optionals[i].data); } }); }]); Here as you can see I pass the file, append its properties, and append any optional properties.     Hey you guys (and girls), I have implemented the following CSS: #tab-navigation ul li:last-child { background-image: url(../images/tabs-end.gif); background-repeat: no-repeat; color: #fff; display: block; border: 1px solid red; background-position: right; } However, for some reason this is not working at all in IE (surprise!) - I read (after some research) that IE requires a DOCTYPE, but I already have <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> defined. Any ideas peeps?

  • Increasing width of UISearchDisplayController PopOver Results

    I have an iPad app that has a UISearchBar in its navigation bar. When I enter text in the search bar the results are automatically displayed in a UIPopOverController. That's great except the popover's default size is not wide enough for my needs. Is there a way to set its width? Apple has done this themselves with Safari's search bar. The popover that displays search results is a good bit wider than the default and they have removed the "Results" title from the popover.

I tried all kinds of things, but it doesn't seem to be possible to read more than 256 columns from a excel (2007 format) file. I'm wondering if it's a bug or I'm simply missing something.   • Per-process CPU usage on Win95 / Win98 / WinME

    How can you programmatically measure per-process (or better, per-thread) CPU usage under windows 95, windows 98 and windows ME? If it requires the DDK, where can you obtain that? Please note the Win9x requirement. It's easy on NT. EDIT: I tried installing the Win95/98 version of WMI, but Win32_Process.KernelModeTime and Win32_Process.UserModeTime return Null (as do most Win32_Process properties under win9x).

For youtube, we find solution by adding extra parameter: <param name="wmode" value="opaque" /> which resolve this issue, but what can i do to fix other video sources?   • Prototype mouseleave for two elements

    I have created a small navigation element that is positioned right on top of another element. It is only shown when a user mousenters/mouseovers the main element. I am having some trouble with the prototype. I would like this small nav element to be hidden when a user mouses out of the main box, but I would also like the small nav element to remain visible if a user mouses out of the main box but mouses into the small nav at the same time. This is my attempt so far with some pseudo-code to hopefully explain: $('main_box').observe('mouseenter', function(){ $('small_div').show() }) $('main_box').observe('mouseleave', function(){ if this element is $('small_div') then Event.stop() $('small_div').observe('mouseleave', function(){ if this element is $('main_box') Event.stop observe $('main_box') mouseleave else $('small_div').hide(); }) else $('small_div').hide(); }) The main thing I'm having trouble with is figuring out what element the mouse is over at a given point in time. Is there a way to do something like: on mouseleave do blah unless the mouse is over a specific element then do not do blah?

The question is if I pop out(tap back on navigation bar) this controller before the second thread is done, the app will crash after [super dealloc], because "Tried to obtain the web lock from a thread other than the main thread or the web thread. This may be a result of calling to UIKit from a secondary thread.".   • Strange centering problem in Firefox and IE8

    The navigation bar on my site http://hungryathome.net doesn't center properly on Firefox and IE8 Standards mode. It centers properly in IE7 Compatability mode and in Chrome. What's odd is that setting a Margin on the div (id="navlinks") to 4px or more will make it center properly. Any less will result in it being slightly off-center. I changed the values back and forth in Firebug and it's confusing the heck out of me. Any explanation for why that's happening?

Normally, I would install the web service, then manually go to IIS and make sure the box is checked for Integrated Windows Authentication. There has to be a way to do this through code.   • Received memory warning and app crashes - iphone

    I am creating an app using ARC but my app is crashing due to Received memory warning. The App is working fine in simulator. But in case of iphone device, If i run the app for few minutes then on doing anything, the app crashes straightaway. I have checked my app by xcode instrument. My app folder size is 6 MB but all memory allocation is showing 63 MB on xcode instrument. Because of this reason, presentViewController-Animated-Completion is getting slow during navigation. Does anyone have any solution why this is happening?

  • How can we disable the button in my iphone app?

    In my application, there is one button in the navigation bar. I want it to work only for the 1t click of the user. If he continousally presses on it 2 or 3 times just after the 1st click the button shouldnt recieve the following ones. How can I do this? My app always crashes if the user presses it for more than once. I dont want to make it multithread and use lock. Thats why i want to know whether there is anyother alternative.

  • How can one use the "Add view" dialog in Visual Studio efficiently when working with ASP.NET MVC?

    Does anyone else think that the add view dialog in VS is useless or is it just me? Why is there no search/filtering in there? I can not even paste the type name (without namespace) there to speed up the view creation. Plus, there are a lot of irrelevant classes there, including classes from all referenced libraries. Am I missing something or Microsoft never did any usability testing with that?? Is it possible to filter out types/assemblies in the dialog and/or better navigation compared to manually scrolling the combobox with all the types listed? Is it possible to include only types from a particular directory/assembly/namespace? (the ViewModels namespace for example) EDIT: As it seems from the answers that there is no usable workaround for this, I have filed a suggestion at Connect: https://connect.microsoft.com/VisualStudio/feedback/ViewFeedback.aspx?FeedbackID=507784 Please vote for the suggestion if you find this is an important issue.

    does anyone know or predict how facebook's iphone app architecture could look like? More specific to what could be built into the app (client) what could be rendered on demand? Do you think the main menu layout of the app (where all the navigation buttons are there) are on the client or being rendered dynamically? Similarly apps like NYTimes or US News, what portion is done on the client and what is rendered dynamically. What could be the best way to render things on-demand. Would it be ok to use to UIWebView and render most of the app in it? A quick overview would help. Thank you!

    I need to visualize some scientific calculations. I generally prefer reusing code if there is already a good available instead of inventing wheels each time, that's why I am asking. I need a C# code to draw charts (just outputting a bitmap is ok) of 2d (y=f(x)) and 3d (z=f(x,y)) digital data sets (where any axis can be float, int or datetime), sometimes combined. If I go here and click 3D in the navigation bar on the left, there I can see what I need. But the cheapest version costs $759 there, looks scary for a hobby project of an east-european student :-(

  • UITableView with Core Data and fetchedResultsController - don't want to call it at start up

    Hi all, I started with the Navigation-based application. I have a UITableView that shows the content fetched from CoreData - using the - (NSFetchedResultsController *)fetchedResultsController from the template. The thing is that I don't want to fill the TableView with the results at the start-up, instead I want to fill the TableView with the results from a search. In my app I have an UITextField, where the user can type a string. And from that string, using predicate, I want to fill the UITableView with the results. In other words, at start-up, the UITableView should be empty and later filled with the search-results. Does anyone have an idea on how to accomplish this? Thanks in advance! EDIT: Solved it by moving out if (![fetchedResultsController_ performFetch:&error]) { and calling it later. I feel a bit stupid ;)
