  • Solution for Numeric Text Field in GWT

    I need a text field very similar in behavior to Gxt's NumberField. Unfortunately I am not using Gxt in my application and GWT 2.0 does not have a Numeric text field implementation as yet. So that currently leaves me with an option to simulate a NumberField by filtering out non-numeric keystrokes using a keyboardHandler. Is this the the best way to approach the problem? Does anyone here have a better solution/approach in mind? Thanks in advance :)

  • Control third check box based on the state of the first two using jquery

    I have three check boxes and need to disable the third if either and/or of the other two are checked. I'm sure there's a easier way than what I have currently. It's turning into what I believe is a mess and I'm hoping that someone with more jquery knowledge can shine the light here. I don't understand why. This works, but one of the requirements is that a non programmer should be able to edit and maintain this. Ideally it'd be great if he could just add new check boxes to the html and it would work. The class for these are define and as far as I know can't be changed. The last check box in the list of check boxes will disable if any of the ones above are selected. Like wise if the last check box is selected, it will disable all the ones above it. I haven't even begun writing and testing that portion as this is quickly becoming too complicated for a non programmer to handle. I myself am more of a PHP coder than a js, let alone jquery, coder. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    I'm trying to set java.awt.headless=true during the application startup but it appears like I'm to late and the non-headless mode is already started: static { System.setProperty("java.awt.headless", "true"); /* java.awt.GraphicsEnvironment.isHeadless() returns false */ } Is there another way set headless=true beside -Djava.awt.headless?     Hey there, I never seem to get this right. I've got a method that returns a mutable array. What is the proper way to return the array and avoid potential memory leaks? If I plan to store the results locally inside another view controller, does that affect the way the array should be returned? Lastly, what if it's just an non-mutable array?   • how to merge stripped symbols with binary?

    I compiled the Qt Framework with debugging enabled, but the script stripped the debugging symbols from the libraries and saved them as *.debug files -- just like here. Sadly I need these symbols inside the .so files, so I can continue working with them. There seems no way to teach my debugger to load external (non-PDB) symbols. So another way of solving my problem might be converting the .debug files to PDB format, which might also be a problem. Thank you very much!

    I'd like to set non-integer primary keys for a table using some kind of hash function. md5() seems to be kind of long (32-characters). What are some alternative hash functions that perhaps use every letter in the alphabet as well as integers that are perhaps shorter in string length and have low collision rates? Thanks!

  • Cannot display returned JSON from a JQUERY AJAX call in CodeIgniter

    Im using JQUERY + CodeIgniter. I can't seem to get the returned data to display after an ajax call. Here is my JQUERY: $.post("<?= site_url('plan/get_conflict') ?>", { user_id : user_id, datetime_from : plan_datetime_start, datetime_to : plan_datetime_end, json : true }, function(data) { alert(data); }, "json"); Here is my CodeIgniter: function get_conflict() { ... log_message("debug","get_conflict(): $result"); return $result; } My logs show: get_conflict(): {"work_product_name":"Functional Design Document","datetime_start_plan":"2010-04-22 08:00:00","datetime_end_plan":"2010-04-22 09:00:00","overlap_seconds":3600} Meaning the JSON is being returned correctly. However, the alert(data) nor alert(data.work_product_name) are not displayed. Any ideas?

    Hi I need to send files using the BizTalk 2006 (non wcf) FTP adapter. After successful transmission of each file it needs to be renamed from an "A" prefix to a "U" prefix.     A lot of descriptions of Pseudo LRU algorithms involve using a binary search tree, and setting flags to "point away" from the node you're searching for every time you access the tree. This leads to a reasonable approximation of LRU. However, it seems from the descriptions that all of the nodes deemed LRU would be leaf nodes. Is there a pseudo-LRU algorithm that deals with a static tree that will still perform reasonably well, while determining that non-leaf nodes are suitable LRU candidates?

  • Ruby on Rails equivalent for Maven Archetypes

    Maven Archetypes are handy ways to get a project up and going in no time flat. Rails is kinda like an archetype in and of itself. However, I'm curious to know if there are any Rails equivalents for Maven Archetypes. For example, I want to create an Archetype with full authentication already built in via Authlogic. With Maven Archetypes I would need to build a project with it already ready to go, create my archetype and start working back parameterizing things that should be parameterized. Then anyone can make a Rails project with Authlogic set up by filling out a few questions during the archetype generate command and boom! Fully functional Rails app with Authlogic built in. Is there a Rails Equivalent? Are Generators expected to do this? Is this just not Rails-y?

  • Safari and the z-index flash problem

    Hi everybody, I don't know if it's a classic safari 4 bug, but apparently many people cannot display correctly a non-flash content (div, image, etc.) over a flash animation. I tried everything: The wmode (switching from "opaque" to "transparent"), the z-index and many other div "cheats". Did anyone know if there is a safari 4 patch/trick/script to fix this problem? I have been learning F# over the last year or so and saw the potential to use both the functional aspects of F# to quickly create some useful and more complex TFS commands.
