  • How to combine multiple uiBinder-based widgets?

    - by jprusakova
    I need to insert a [number of] uiBinder-based widgets into another one, at a particular spot. The inserted widget has a somewhat complicated layout, so I am trying to define it in HTML. referencePanel.add(...) fails with NoSuchElement exception. reference.getElement().toSource returns "undefined". Any suggestions on how to do that? public class AppUIDemo extends Composite { @UiTemplate("AppUIDemo.ui.xml") interface AppUIDemoUiBinder extends UiBinder<Widget, AppUIDemo> { } @UiTemplate("ReferenceUI.ui.xml") interface ReferenceUIUiBinder extends UiBinder<Widget, ReferenceUI> { } private static AppUIDemoUiBinder uiBinder = GWT .create(AppUIDemoUiBinder.class); private static ReferenceUIUiBinder refUIBinder = GWT .create(ReferenceUIUiBinder.class); @UiField HTMLPanel referencePanel; public AppUIDemo() { initWidget(uiBinder.createAndBindUi(this)); ReferenceUI reference = new ReferenceUI(refUIBinder); referencePanel.add(reference, reference.getElement().getId()); } } public class ReferenceUI extends Composite { interface ReferenceUIUiBinder extends UiBinder<Widget,ReferenceUI> { } private static ReferenceUIUiBinder uiBinder = GWT .create(ReferenceUIUiBinder.class); public ReferenceUI() { initWidget(uiBinder.createAndBindUi(this)); } public CreditReferenceUI(final UiBinder<Widget, CreditReferenceUI> binder) { initWidget(binder.createAndBindUi(this)); } }

  • java singleton instantiation

    - by jurchiks
I've found three ways of instantiating a Singleton, but I have doubts as to whether any of them is the best there is. I'm using them in a multi-threaded environment and prefer lazy instantiation. Sample 1: private static final ClassName INSTANCE = new ClassName(); public static ClassName getInstance() { return INSTANCE; } Sample 2: private static class SingletonHolder { public static final ClassName INSTANCE = new ClassName(); } public static ClassName getInstance() { return SingletonHolder.INSTANCE; } Sample 3: private static ClassName INSTANCE; public static synchronized ClassName getInstance() { if (INSTANCE == null) INSTANCE = new ClassName(); return INSTANCE; } The project I'm using ATM uses Sample 2 everywhere, but I kind of like Sample 3 more. There is also the Enum version, but I just don't get it. The question here is - in which cases I should/shouldn't use any of these variations? I'm not looking for lengthy explanations though (there's plenty of other topics about that, but they all eventually turn into arguing IMO), I'd like it to be understandable with few words.

  • Getting two variables in the URL with htaccess

    - by Wayne
What way it is to be to get two GET methods in the URL by htaccess? RewriteRule ^adm/(.*)$ adm.php?mode=$1 I've used that for the example URL: http://www.domain.com/adm/thismode Now I want to get two methods like: http://www.domain.com/adm/thismode/othermode I've tried this: RewriteRule ^adm/(.*)$/(.*)$ adm.php?mode=$1&othermode=$2 But doesn't seem to work... how do I get it to do that? EDIT: $mode1 = $_GET['mode']; $mode2 = $_GET['othermode']; Like this...

  • Java - How to declare table[i][j] elements as instance variables?

    - by JDelage
All, I am trying to code a Connect4 game. For this, I have created a P4Game class and a P4Board class which represents the i X j dimensions of the Connect4 board. In P4Game, I have the following: public class P4Game{ //INSTANCE VARIABLES private int nbLines; private int nbColumns; private P4Board [][] position; //CONSTRUCTOR public P4Game(int nbLines, int nbColumns){ this.nbColumns = nbColumns; this.nbLines = nbLines; P4Board [][] position = new P4Board [nbLines][nbColumns]; //Creates the table to receive the instances of the P4Board object.*/ for (int i=0; i<nbLines; i++){ for (int j=0; j<nbColumns; j++){ this.position[i][j] = new P4Board(i,j); //Meant to create each object at (line=i, column=j) } } } This causes a NullPointerException in the nested loops where I mention this.position[i][j]. I reference those objects in other methods of this class so I need them to be instance variables. I suppose the exception is due to the fact that I have not listed the table element position[i][j] as an instance variable at the beginning of the class. my question to people here is (1) is my assumption correct, and if so (2) what would be the syntax to declare instance variables of this form? Thank you all for your help with what I realize is a very basic question. Hopefully it will also benefit other newbies. Cheers, JDelage

  • How do I link one listview to another to create a football league table?

    - by Richard Nixon
Hi I am creating a football system in windows forms c#. I have one listview where data is entered. I have 4 columns, 2 with team names linked to combo boxes and 2 with the scores linked to numericupdown controls. There are 3 buttons to add the results, Remove and clear. the code is below: private void addButton_Click(object sender, EventArgs e) { { ListViewItem item = new ListViewItem(comboBox1.SelectedItem.ToString()); item.SubItems.Add(numericUpDown1.Value.ToString()); item.SubItems.Add(numericUpDown2.Value.ToString()); item.SubItems.Add(comboBox2.SelectedItem.ToString()); listView1.Items.Add(item); } } private void clearButton_Click(object sender, EventArgs e) { listView1.Items.Clear(); } private void removeButton_Click(object sender, EventArgs e) { foreach (ListViewItem itemSelected in listView1.SelectedItems) { listView1.Items.Remove(itemSelected); } } I have another listview that i want to link the first one to. The second one is a usual english football league table and i want to use maths to add up the games played and the points etc. please help. cheers

  • how do i use MySql ENUM type? (and is it right for a news feed)

    - by Haroldo
I'm creating a table called news_feed, this will log all the actions a user performs. Lets say I want to store user1234 deleted article412 at midday I then need a table like so timestamp | user_id | subject_type | subject_id | method . there would be 5 potential methods to log, methods = add/edit/delete/update/report and lets say 2 possible subject_type subjects = article/comment I know i could make my own key where 0=add, 1=delete etc etc but this would make my queries cumbersome to use/write as i'd need to keep consulting the key. Is there a MySql type which can read lots of identially values quickly? is this ENUM? how do i use it?!!

  • Dynamic Auto updating (to UI, Grid) binding list in C# Winform?

    - by Dhana
I'm not even sure if i'm doing this correctly. But basically I have a list of objects that are built out of a class/interface. From there, I am binding the list to a datagrid view that is on a Windows Form (C#) Here the list is a Sync list which will auto update the UI, in this case datagridview. Every thing works fine now, but now i would like to have the List should have an dynamic object, that is the object will have by default two static property (ID, Name), and at run time user will select remaining properties. These should be bind to the data grid. Any update on the list should be auto reflected in the grid. I am aware that, we can use dynamic objects, but i would like to know , how to approach for solution, datagridview.DataSource = myData; // myData is AutoUpdateList<IPersonInfo> Now IPersonInfo is the type of object, need to add dynamic properties for this type at runtime. public class AutoUpdateList<T> : System.ComponentModel.BindingList<T> { private System.ComponentModel.ISynchronizeInvoke _SyncObject; private System.Action<System.ComponentModel.ListChangedEventArgs> _FireEventAction; public AutoUpdateList() : this(null) { } public AutoUpdateList(System.ComponentModel.ISynchronizeInvoke syncObject) { _SyncObject = syncObject; _FireEventAction = FireEvent; } protected override void OnListChanged(System.ComponentModel.ListChangedEventArgs args) { try { if (_SyncObject == null) { FireEvent(args); } else { _SyncObject.Invoke(_FireEventAction, new object[] { args }); } } catch (Exception) { // TODO: Log Here } } private void FireEvent(System.ComponentModel.ListChangedEventArgs args) { base.OnListChanged(args); } } Could you help out on this?

  • Incongruity between Eclipse Outline/Package perspective and source code being displayed - Java error generated at runtime

    - by David Daedalus
I've been debugging a Java application and have encountered something odd. When a particular method is called, Java throws a ClassNotFoundException. Unfortunately, the methods in question (the invoking and the 'missing' one) are inside a JAR file for which I have no documentation or source. To get at the source, I used JD-GUI (a Java JAR reverse engineer-er) and the JD plugin for Eclipse. As far as I can tell, the class in question exists inside the JAR file. This because JD-GUI displays it inside the JAR, and from within Eclipse I can see it listed along with the constructors and methods. My question is why the source being displayed in Eclipse is for a different class (that also exists)? This program was built with Ant - is it possible the problem lies there? Screenshot below for your viewing pleasure - and thanks in advance for your help!

  • Getting all objects with a certain element inside a collection of strings with criteria API.

    - by Jens Jansson
Hey. I'm trying to build a Hibernate Criteria query to find entities that have a specific element inside a collection. We can take as an example a Book -object that looks like this: public class Book { private Long id; private String title; private Set<String> authors = new HashSet<String>(); } The entity is mapped like this: <class name="Book" table="Book"> <id name="id" column="BOOK_ID"> <generator class="native"/> </id> <property name="title"/> <set name="authors" table="Book_Authors"> <key column="BOOK_ID"/> <element type="string" column="AUTHORS"/> </set> </class> Now I would like to find out which books are written by Matt. With pure SQL I can do a query like this: String author = "Matt"; String query = "SELECT * FROM Book " + "WHERE BOOK_ID IN " + "(SELECT BOOK_ID FROM Book_Authors " + "WHERE authors = :author )"; List<Book> result = session.createSQLQuery(query) .addEntity(Book.class) .setParameter("author", author) .list(); This works all good and well, and I get out all books that Matt has been a part of writing. The project I work in, however, uses the Criteria API instead of raw SQL, and I haven't found a way to express the same query in that form. I've taken a look on the Restrictions API and the closest I've found is Restions.in(propertyName, collection) but that works the other way around (one value in object, many values to match against). Any ideas?

  • Castle, sharing a transient component between a decorator and a decorated component

    - by Marius
Consider the following example: public interface ITask { void Execute(); } public class LoggingTaskRunner : ITask { private readonly ITask _taskToDecorate; private readonly MessageBuffer _messageBuffer; public LoggingTaskRunner(ITask taskToDecorate, MessageBuffer messageBuffer) { _taskToDecorate = taskToDecorate; _messageBuffer = messageBuffer; } public void Execute() { _taskToDecorate.Execute(); Log(_messageBuffer); } private void Log(MessageBuffer messageBuffer) {} } public class TaskRunner : ITask { public TaskRunner(MessageBuffer messageBuffer) { } public void Execute() { } } public class MessageBuffer { } public class Configuration { public void Configure() { IWindsorContainer container = null; container.Register( Component.For<MessageBuffer>() .LifeStyle.Transient); container.Register( Component.For<ITask>() .ImplementedBy<LoggingTaskRunner>() .ServiceOverrides(ServiceOverride.ForKey("taskToDecorate").Eq("task.to.decorate"))); container.Register( Component.For<ITask>() .ImplementedBy<TaskRunner>() .Named("task.to.decorate")); } } How can I make Windsor instantiate the "shared" transient component so that both "Decorator" and "Decorated" gets the same instance? Edit: since the design is being critiqued I am posting something closer to what is being done in the app. Maybe someone can suggest a better solution (if sharing the transient resource between a logger and the true task is considered a bad design)

  • GitHub solution for personal repo

    - by Luke Maurer
So I've got my private SVN repo on my home server, and it has maybe 30 different modules thrown together in it, ranging from abortive throw-away larks to a few endeavors that might actually go somewhere someday. But a recent filesystem failure (BTW, never ever EVER use XFS without a battery-backed hardware RAID) has me spooked and thinking of using a DVCS for all that. I've also just had quite the swig of the Git koolaid, and I've been working with GitHub of late, so that's where I'm looking right now. Of course, it would be silly to shell out major cash for a separate private Git repo for every little project, and I don't want to have to be selective about what I throw up there (I love all my children :-D ), so I'll have to be somewhat creative about this. I can happily use SSH to my home box to use Git the way I've been using SVN, and I'm thinking from there I could amalgamate everything into, say, a big project with 30 submodules, which I then push to GitHub. What'd be a sane way to set this up? Does using submodules sound feasible? How do I sync it all to my private GitHub repo? Cron job? Git hook? I'd love to hear it if anyone's done something similar. I'm not really married to Git or GitHub, so a sufficiently compelling feature of another solution might sway me. But if your answer does involve a different system (especially a different VCS), be advised it'll be a tougher sell :-)

  • java - powermock whenNew doesnt seem to work, calls the actual constructor

    - by user1331243
    I have two final classes that are used in my unit test. I am trying to use whenNew on the constructor of a final class, but I see that it calls the actual constructor. The code is @PrepareForTest({A.class, B.class, Provider.class}) @Test public void testGetStatus() throws Exception { B b = mock(B.class); when(b.getStatus()).thenReturn(1); whenNew(B.class).withArguments(anyString()).thenReturn(b); Provider p = new Provider(); int val = p.getStatus(); assertTrue((val == 1)); } public class Provider { public int getStatus() { B b = new B("test"); return b.getStatus(); } } public final class A { private void init() { // ...do soemthing } private static A a; private A() { } public static A getInstance() { if (a == null) { a = new A(); a.init(); } return a; } } public final class B { public B() { } public B(String s) { this(A.getInstance(), s); } public B(A a, String s) { } public int getStatus() { return 0; } } On debug, I find that its the actual class B instance created and not the mock instance that is returned for new usage and assertion fails. Any pointers on how to get this working. Thanks

  • Is it appropriate to set a value to a "const char *" in the header file

    - by sud
I have seen people using 2 methods to declare and define char * Medhod-1: The header file has the below const char* COUNTRY_NAME_USA = "USA"; Medhod-2: The header file has the below declaration const char* COUNTRY_NAME_USA; The cpp file has the below defintion : const char* COUNTRY_NAME_USA = "USA"; Is method-2 wrong in some way ? What is the difference between the two ? I understand the difference between "const char * const var" , and "const char * var". If in the above methods if a "const char * const var" is declared and defined in the header as in method 1 will it make sense ?

  • Where to learn about VS debugger 'magic names'

    - by Gael Fraiteur
If you've ever used Reflector, you probably noticed that the C# compiler generates types, methods, fields, and local variables, that deserve 'special' display by the debugger. For instance, local variables beginning with 'CS$' are not displayed to the user. There are other special naming conventions for closure types of anonymous methods, backing fields of automatic properties, and so on. My question: where to learn about these naming conventions? Does anyone know about some documentation? My objective is to make PostSharp 2.0 use the same conventions. Thank you!

  • Why does implementing ObservableCollection crash my silverlight application?

    - by Sudeep
Hi, I have a combobox whose ItemsSource property is bound to an ObservableCollection property and its SelectedIndex property is bound to an integer property respectively. <ComboBox Name="cmbDealt" ItemsSource="{Binding Path=DealList, Mode=TwoWay}" SelectedIndex="{Binding Mode=TwoWay, Path=DealIndex}"></ComboBox> <CheckBox IsChecked="{Binding Mode=TwoWay, Path=SomeCondition}" Content="Some Condition"></CheckBox> My data structure looks like private ObservableCollection<string> m_DealList = null; private int m_DealIndex = 0; private bool m_SomeCondition = false; public ObservableCollection<string> DealList { get { if (m_DealList == null) m_DealList = new ObservableCollection<string>(); else m_DealList.Clear(); if (m_SomeCondition) { m_DealList.Add("ABC"); m_DealList.Add("DEF"); } else { m_DealList.Add("UVW"); m_DealList.Add("XYZ"); } return m_DealList; } } public int DealIndex { get { return m_DealIndex; } set { if (value != -1) { m_DealIndex = value; } } } public bool SomeCondition { get { return m_SomeCondition; } set { m_SomeCondition = value; OnPropertyChanged("DealList"); OnPropertyChanged("DealIndex"); } } Now the application loads successfully. However, when the user changes the SelectedIndex of the ComboBox to 1 from 0 and then checks the checkbox (so as to call the "DealIndex" property changed event), the application crashes. I am not sure why this could be happening. Can someone shed some light and propose a solution? TIA... Sudeep

  • How can I check if a user has written his username and password correctly?

    - by Sergio Tapia
I'm using a Linq-to-SQL class called Scans.dbml. In that class I've dragged a table called Users (username, password, role) onto the graphic area and now I can access User object via a UserRepository class: using System; using System.Collections.Generic; using System.Linq; using System.Text; namespace Scanner.Classes { public class UserRepository { private ScansDataContext db = new ScansDataContext(); public User getUser(string username) { return db.Users.SingleOrDefault(x => x.username == username); } public bool exists(string username) { } } } Now in my Login form, I want to use this Linq-to-SQL goodness to do all the data related activities. UserRepository users = new UserRepository(); private void btnLogin_Click(object sender, EventArgs e) { loginToSystem(); } private void loginToSystem() { if (users.getUser(txtUsername.Text)) { } //If txtUsername exists && User.password == Salt(txtPassword) //then Show.MainForm() with User.accountType in constructor to set permissions. } I need help with verifying that a user exists && that that users.password is equal to SALT(txtpassword.text). • Diffrernce between BackgroundWorker.ReportProgress() and Control.Invoke()

    - by ohadsc
What is the difference between options 1 and 2 in the following? private void BGW_DoWork(object sender, DoWorkEventArgs e) { for (int i=1; i<=100; i++) { string txt = i.ToString(); if (Test_Check.Checked) //OPTION 1 Test_BackgroundWorker.ReportProgress(i, txt); else //OPTION 2 this.Invoke((Action<int, string>)UpdateGUI, new object[] {i, txt}); } } private void BGW_ProgressChanged(object sender, ProgressChangedEventArgs e) { UpdateGUI(e.ProgressPercentage, (string)e.UserState); } private void UpdateGUI(int percent, string txt) { Test_ProgressBar.Value = percent; Test_RichTextBox.AppendText(txt + Environment.NewLine); } Looking at reflector, the Control.Invoke() appears to use: this.FindMarshalingControl().MarshaledInvoke(this, method, args, 1); whereas BackgroundWorker.Invoke() appears to use: this.asyncOperation.Post(this.progressReporter, args); (I'm just guessing these are the relevant function calls.) If I understand correctly, BGW Posts to the WinForms window its progress report request, whereas Control.Invoke uses a CLR mechanism to invoke on the right thread. Am I close? And if so, what are the repercussions of using either ? Thanks

  • System.Interactive: Difference between Memoize() and MemoizeAll()?

    - by Joel Mueller
In System.Interactive.dll (v1.0.2521.0) from Reactive Extensions, EnumerableEx has both a Memoize method and a MemoizeAll method. The API documentation is identical for both of them: Creates an enumerable that enumerates the original enumerable only once and caches its results. However, these methods are clearly not identical. If I use Memoize, my enumerable has values the first time I enumerate it, and seems to be empty the second time. If I use MemoizeAll then I get the behavior I would expect from the description of either method - I can enumerate the result as many times as I want and get the same results each time, but the source is only enumerated once. Can anyone tell me what the intended difference between these methods is? What is the use-case for Memoize? It seems like a fairly useless method with really confusing documentation.

  • How to append \line into RTF using RichTextBox control

    - by Steve Sheldon
When using the Microsoft RichTextBox control it is possible to add new lines like this... richtextbox.AppendText(System.Environment.NewLine); // appends \r\n However, if you now view the generated rtf the \r\n characters are converted to \par not \line How do I insert a \line control code into the generated RTF? What does't work: Token Replacement Hacks like inserting a token at the end of the string and then replacing it after the fact, so something like this: string text = "my text"; text = text.Replace("||" "|"); // replace any '|' chars with a double '||' so they aren't confused in the output. text = text.Replace("\r\n", "_|0|_"); // replace \r\n with a placeholder of |0| richtextbox.AppendText(text); string rtf = richtextbox.Rtf; rtf.Replace("_|0|_", "\\line"); // replace placeholder with \line rtf.Replace("||", "|"); // set back any || chars to | This almost worked, it breaks down if you have to support right to left text as the right to left control sequence always ends up in the middle of the placeholder. Sending Key Messages public void AppendNewLine() { Keys[] keys = new Keys[] {Keys.Shift, Keys.Return}; SendKeys(keys); } private void SendKeys(Keys[] keys) { foreach(Keys key in keys) { SendKeyDown(key); } } private void SendKeyDown(Keys key) { user32.SendMessage(this.Handle, Messages.WM_KEYDOWN, (int)key, 0); } private void SendKeyUp(Keys key) { user32.SendMessage(this.Handle, Messages.WM_KEYUP, (int)key, 0); } This also ends up being converted to a \par Is there a way to post a messaged directly to the msftedit control to insert a control character? I am totally stumped, any ideas guys? Thanks for your help!

  • Cannot exit in CodeIgniter constructor

    - by gzg
I'm basically trying a session control. If the user is logged in, it's ok to move on. But if he's not logged in, then it will show a log-in screen and then die. However, when I use die or exit in the constructor, it does not show the log-in screen; it immediately dies. The code is as following: private $username = null; private $mongoid = null; private $neoid = null; public function __construct(){ parent::__construct(); // session to global $this->username = $this->session->userdata( 'username'); $this->mongoid = $this->session->userdata( 'mongoid'); $this->neoid = $this->session->userdata( 'neoid'); // check if user is logged in if( $this->username == "" || empty( $this->username)){ $this->load->view( 'access/login'); die; } } It shows the log-in page if die is not written there, but with die, it does not show. Why do I want to use die? Because if I don't use, it moves on the index function and I don't want it to execute index function if the user is not logged in. What is wrong here? What should I use to stop executing?
