  I'm a part-time designer/developer with a part-time photography business. I've got a database of photos with various bits of metadata attached. I want to query the database and return a list of the years that photos were taken, and the quantity of photos that were taken in that year. In short, I want a list that looks like this: 2010 (35 photos) 2009 (67 photos) 2008 (48 photos) Here's the query I'm using: SELECT YEAR(date) AS year, COUNT(filename) as quantity FROM photos WHERE visible='1' GROUP BY 'year' ORDER BY 'year' DESC Instead of churning out all the possible years (the database includes photos from 2010-2008), this is the sole result: 2010 (35 photos) I've tried a lot of different syntax but at this point I'm giving in and asking for help!

• Urgent Problem: Production site is breaking because of cached routes

  Hi folks, i have an urgent problem. Essentially, my routing works on my localhost. But when i deployed this to production, the routes does not seem to work correctly. For example, given a new route "/invites" - sometimes i will get a 404, and sometimes it will work correctly. I suspect there is some caching going on somewhere, but i am not sure. Can someone help?   Possible Duplicate: Algorithm to find a duplicate entry in constant space and O(n) time Given an array of N integer such that only one integer is repeated. Find the repeated integer in O(n) time and constant space. There is no range for the value of integers or the value of N For example given an array of 6 integers as 23 45 67 87 23 47. The answer is 23 (I hope this covers ambiguous and vague part) I searched on the net but was unable to find any such question in which range of integers was not fixed. Also here is an example that answers a similar question to mine but here he created a hash table with the highest integer value in C++.But the cpp does not allow such to create an array with 2^64 element(on a 64-bit computer).

  From within the setup_app function (websetup.py) of a pylons i18n application, which is making use of a db, I was trying to initiate multilingual content to be inserted into the db.   I have a problem, I am trying to calculate what the lowest prime is of a number but I do not understand the result that PHP is giving me. If I have this number $number = 600851475143; Then I modulus it: $primes = array( 2, 3, 5, 7, 11, 13, 17, 19, 23, 29, 31, 37, 41, 43, 47, 53, 59, 61, 67, 71, 73, 79, 83, 89, 97); foreach($primes as $key=>$value) { if($number % $value == 0 ) {echo $value; break; } } Why is it that $value = 3? If $value = 3, that means that 600851475143 / 3 should be an integer, but its not. So I do not understand why that if() evaluates to true?

  I'm trying to import data from a csv file to some html code to use it in a graph I have already coded. I'm trying to use PHP and fgetcsv to create arrays for each separate piece of data to use PHP to put it into the html code. I know how to open the csv file and to print it using PHP, and how to print each separate row, but not each piece of data separated by a comma. Is there a way to do this? • Nested for loop error with !null checking an element that doesn't exist

  I am currently using nested for loops in a 2D array of size 4,2. When I run my program, I get index out of bounds Exception on the following line else if (state[i][j+1] != null && state[i][j].getFlash() <= state[i][j].getCycleLength() && state[i][j+1].getCycleLength() == state[i][j].getCycleLength()){ } It says the index out of bounds is 2. I would understand the error if I wasn't checking to see if [i][j+1] wasn't null, but I don't understand the exception with the check? I tried moving around the !null check but the program still fails on this line. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am trying to teach myself ruby/rails, and as a test project, I want to create a list of tvshows and a list of characters where each tvshow has_many characters and each character belongs_to a specific show. • Quickbooks ItemServiceQueryRq not returning all service items

I wrote this XML query to grab all the Item Service Codes from the company file: <?xml version=\"1.0\" encoding=\"utf-8\"?><?qbxml version=\"2.0\"?><QBXML><QBXMLMsgsRq onError=\"continueOnError\"><ItemServiceQueryRq requestID=\"81\"></ItemServiceQueryRq></QBXMLMsgsRq></QBXML> For the life of me I can't get QB web connector to return all of the service codes. The company file has about 500 service codes but it only returns 67. Does anyone have any idea on why this would happen? The QB web connector application log doesn't provide any hints either.

I need to get entries that already exist so that they can be placed in the work of the day.   I have events flowing into a MySQL database and I need to group and sum the events to transactions and store away into another table. The data looks like: +----+---------+------+-------+ | id | transid | code | value | +----+---------+------+-------+ | 1 | 1 | b | 12 | | 2 | 1 | i | 23 | | 3 | 2 | b | 34 | | 4 | 1 | e | 45 | | 5 | 3 | b | 56 | | 6 | 2 | i | 67 | | 7 | 2 | e | 78 | | 8 | 3 | i | 89 | | 9 | 3 | i | 90 | +----+---------+------+-------+ The events arrive in batches and I would like to create the transaction by summing up the values for each transid, like: select transid, sum(value) from eventtable group by transid; but only after all the events for that transid have arrived. That is determined by the event with the code e (b for the beginning, e for the end and i for varying amount of intermediates). Being a novice in SQL, how could I implement the requirement for the existance of the end code before the summing?

I'm using a View to display the content of my website with exposed filter (tags multi-selection) When I click on one of the tags something strange happen on the new website.. All others are 8 bit data bytes. On my system, which is little endian, how would the data be received and stored? Lets say, we are configured to receive 8 bytes at a time. RxBuff is the Rx buffer where data will be received. Buff is the storage buffer where data would be stored. Please point out which case is correct for data storage after reading 8 bytes at a time: 1) Buff[] = {0x34, 0x67, 0x45, 0x89, 0x90, 0xAB....... 0x00}; 2) Buff[] = {0x00, 0x00, .......0x67, 0x89, 0x45, 0x34}; Would the whole 16 bytes data be reversed or only the 2 bytes value contained in this packet?

  Hi everybody, How do you handle replacing/adding/removing memcached nodes in your production applications? I will have a number of applications that are cloned and customized due to each customers need running on one and same webserver, so i'll guess that there will be a day when some of the nodes will be changed. Here's how memcached is populated by normal: $m = new Memcached(); $servers = array( array('mem1.domain.com', 11211, 33), array('mem2.domain.com', 11211, 67) ); $m->addServers($servers); My initial idea, is to make the $servers array to be populated from the database, also cached, but file-based, done once a day or something, with the option to force an update on next run of the function that holds the $addservers call. However, I am guessing that this might add some additional overhead since disks are quite slow storage... What do you think?
