    I've been trying to implement a delete function for a Binary Search Tree but haven't been able to get it to work in all cases. This is my latest attempt: if(t->get_left() == empty) *t = *t->get_left(); else if(t->get_right() == empty) *t = *t->get_right(); else if((t->get_left() != empty) && (t->get_right() != empty)) { Node* node = new Node(t->get_data(), t->get_parent(), t->get_colour(), t->get_left(), t->get_right()); *t = *node; } t is a node and empty is just a node with nothing in it. I'm just trying to swap the values but I'm getting a runtime error. Any ideas? Thanks

  • Rhino Mocks Partial Mock

    I am trying to test the logic from some existing classes. It is not possible to re-factor the classes at present as they are very complex and in production. What I want to do is create a mock object and test a method that internally calls another method that is very hard to mock. So I want to just set a behaviour for the secondary method call. But when I setup the behaviour for the method, the code of the method is invoked and fails. Am I missing something or is this just not possible to test without re-factoring the class?   • PHP: How to search a file using wildcards

    I need to read a file in PHP, but I only know the end of the filename, so I need to serch the file in a given directory using wildcards: *filename.wav and then return it to the browser. Is there a function to do that? or I need to get all the files in the directory and then search one by one? Thanks for all the comments and help.

  • Adding ivars to NSManagedObject subclass

    When I create an entity using core data then generate a subclass of NSManagedObject from it I get the following output (in the .h): @class Foo; @interface Foo : NSManagedObject @property (nonatomic, retain) NSString *name; @property (nonatomic, retain) NSSet *otherValues; @end However, in my .m file I want to make use of the name and otherValues values. Normally I would simply create a couple of ivars and then add the properties for them as I required. That way I can access them in my .m file easily. In this situation would it be acceptable to do this? Would adding ivars to the .h (for name and otherValues) cause any unusual behaviour in the persistance & retrieval of objects?

  • WiX, how to prevent files from uninstalling though we forgot to set Permanent="yes"

    We have a product installer created with Wix, containing a program package ("V1") and some configuration files. Now, we are going to make a major upgrade with a new product code, where the old version of the product is uninstalled and "V2" is installed. What we want is to save one of the configuration files from uninstalling, since it is needed for the V2, too. Unfortunately, we forgot to set the Permanent="yes" option when we delivered V1 (read this question for more information). Here comes the question: is there an easy way of preventing the uninstall of the file anyhow? Of course, we could add a custom action to the script to backup the file before uninstallation, and another custom action to restore it afterwards, but IMHO that seems to be overkill for this task, and might interfere with other parts of the MSI registration process.

    I want to remove all html content from a string except for a div class : <div class="toto">blablabla</div> Should I use a Regex or DOM Parser? To answer drachenstern : It's a comment content with bbcode. And the html in this div is generated with Geshi (code highlighter) so i don't want to delete this. For example a visitor can enter <script></script> in a [code][/code] bbcode tag. All HTML outside the [code][/code] bbcode tag must be delete no?

  • How can I add styles to dynamically added table cells?

    In my program I have a table that, when loaded, has jQuery add some styles/classes to the table cells and table headers. Everything works fine until rows are added via functionality on the rest of the page. Instead of adding the classes to the table cell during addition, is it possible to "listen" or fire some event that checks to see if child elements were added to the table. Essentially, I want something functionally equivalent to this: $("#table td").live("ready", function(){ // do something }); but the live/ready won't work on a table cell... Any ideas?

  • Optimizing an embedded SELECT query in mySQL

    Ok, here's a query that I am running right now on a table that has 45,000 records and is 65MB in size... and is just about to get bigger and bigger (so I gotta think of the future performance as well here): SELECT count(payment_id) as signup_count, sum(amount) as signup_amount FROM payments p WHERE tm_completed BETWEEN '2009-05-01' AND '2009-05-30' AND completed > 0 AND tm_completed IS NOT NULL AND member_id NOT IN (SELECT p2.member_id FROM payments p2 WHERE p2.completed=1 AND p2.tm_completed < '2009-05-01' AND p2.tm_completed IS NOT NULL GROUP BY p2.member_id) And as you might or might not imagine - it chokes the mysql server to a standstill... What it does is - it simply pulls the number of new users who signed up, have at least one "completed" payment, tm_completed is not empty (as it is only populated for completed payments), and (the embedded Select) that member has never had a "completed" payment before - meaning he's a new member (just because the system does rebills and whatnot, and this is the only way to sort of differentiate between an existing member who just got rebilled and a new member who got billed for the first time). Now, is there any possible way to optimize this query to use less resources or something, and to stop taking my mysql resources down on their knees...? Am I missing any info to clarify this any further? Let me know...   • Drupal Webforms module - Form results say "Array" instead of form values

    I have a simple form built with the Webforms module in Drupal. The standard textfield form fields work perfectly. However if I use the preset date or time form values, they don't get emailed properly when the form is submitted. For instance, if there was a date field in my form, it would submit fine and render on the results page just fine, but if I wanted that value to be included in an email, it would show up as "Array" within the text of the email instead of showing the date. There is an open support issue within the module issues page, but I'm hoping for any additional help.

    I'm developing a simple send mail app in C#, using my CMail Server: MailMessage mail = new MailMessage("[email protected]", "[email protected]"); mail.Subject = "Sub"; mail.Body = "Hi!"; SmtpClient smtp = new SmtpClient("MyServer"); System.Net.NetworkCredential cred = new System.Net.NetworkCredential("user", "pass"); smtp.UseDefaultCredentials = false; smtp.Credentials = cred; smtp.Send(mail); Obviously i ommited my account information, so, this code throws me an Authentication Exception for some reason. I first thought that the code was wrong, so i change the info to my gmail account and everything goes fine, with the only SMTP server that i having trouble is with the CMail. Is there a problem with .NET and CMail's SMTP ? Thanks for the help and comments!

  • ReWriteRule is redirecting rather rewriting

    At the moment I have two machines that I do web development on; an iMac for work at the office and a MacBook for when I have to work on the move. They both running OS X 10.6 have the same version of PHP, Apache, etc running on them. Both computers have the same files of the website, including the .htaccess file (see below). On the MacBook the URLs are rewritten nicely, masking the URL they are pointing to (eg site/page/page-name), however on the iMac they simply redirect to the page (eg site/index.php?method=page&value=page-name) which is making switching back and forth between machines a bit of a pain! I'm sure it must be a config setting somewhere, but I can't for the life of me find it. Has anyone got a remedy? Many thanks. I'm fairly convinced there is a much nice way of writing this htaccess file without loosing access several key folders as well!   • Is there a free, smale-scale, not web-based issue/bug tracking system?

    I know, there were posts before here on SO before concerning issue or bug tracking systems, like this one, but the given answers point either to commercial systems or web-based systems, which both seem to be oversized for our needs. What I am looking for is a non-commercial tool for a team of 3 to 4 developers, which can be used on an existing fileserver, without the need of installing additional server software like a C/S database or a web server. Some things I expect from such a system: allows to remember bugs (with a priority) and issues / ideas for new features (mostly without a priority) description of the issue, perhaps some additional remarks short info who entered the bug/issue entry one or more tags allowing us to group or filter the list Any suggestions? EDIT: I should have said that, but we are using MS Windows clients, Visual Studio development, Tortoise SVN (the latter works fine without a subversion server). And yes, I am strict on "no server software", since all server based solutions I have seen so far seem much to oversized/heavy weighted/too-much-effort-to-be-worth-it. In fact, if no one has a better idea, we are going to use a spreadsheet, but I can't believe there are no ready-made, light weight solutions.
