• Enterprise Manager Database Control Configuration - Recovering From Errors Due to CA Expiry on Oracle Database 10.2.0.4 or 10.2.0.5 from 31-Dec-2010 onwards

  Description What is the Issue? In Enterprise Manager Database Control with Oracle Database 10.2.0.4 and 10.2.0.5, the root certificate used to secure communications via the Secure Socket Layer (SSL) protocol will expire on 31-Dec-2010 00:00:00. The certificate expiration will cause errors if you attempt to configure Database Control on or after 31-Dec-2010. Existing Database Control configurations are not affected by this issue. Likelihood of Occurrence What Versions Are Affected? The issue impacts configuration of Database Control with Oracle Database 10.2.0.4 and 10.2.0.5 only. It does not impact database creation or upgrade. The issue does not impact existing Database Control configurations. What Happens During Database Control Configuration Failure? • CommandBinding broken in inner Custom Control when nesting two Custom Controls of the same type.

  I've done a Custom Control in form of a GroupBox but with an extra header which purpose is to hold a button or a stackpanel with buttons at the other side. I've added the a Dependency Property to hold the extra header and I've connected the customized template. Everything works fine until I put one of these controls in another one. Now the wierd stuff begins(at least in my eyes xP), the command binding in the inner control simply isn't set. I tried to use Snoop to gather some data, the see if the inherits is broken and when I clicked on the buttons which isn't doing what I want it to, boom, breakpoint triggered. So in some wierd way the Command isn't set until something that I don't know what it is, happens, which snoops triggers. I've also tried to put the buttons in the regular Header property and that works fine, but not with my own made. I could just switch places with them to make it like I want but now I'm curious to know where the problem lies... Now I wonder, what can I've missed?   I am planning on writing a hierarchical organizational control, similar to an org chart. Several org chart implementations are out there, but not quite fit what I have in mind. Binding fields in a DataTemplate to a custom object does not seem to work.   Our problem/question revolves around an upload control that loses the selected file (goes blank) when a postback control is used (in this case, the dropdown list posts). The primary user flow works fine: User selects one category, subcategory and selects a file to be uploaded (submitted). HOWEVER, if the user selects a file first, and then selects a category, the screen will do a partial refresh and the selected file will disappear (field goes blank). As a result, the user needs to select the file again. This causes an issue because the fact that the file is no longer selected can easily be overlooked. Seems straighforward --- but causing us a lot of grief. Any experts out there that can help? BIG thanks!

  I have a custom UIViewController, which is the only subView of UIView. The UIViewController contains delegate function: (BOOL)shouldAutorotateToInterfaceOrientation:(UIInterfaceOrientation)interfaceOrientation { return YES; } This function is called once when the application starts and is never called again when the device is rotated. I also notice that the willRotateToInterfaceOrientation function is never called. I pretty much commented out all the content in the UIViewController but it is still not responding to device rotation.

  I have created a Custom Server Control that renders the SiteMap as a pure UL for CSS styling. At run-time it renders properly but in VS2008 Design View VS shows this error: Error Rendering Control - menuMainAn unhandled exception has occurred. The provider 'AspNetXmlSiteMapProvider' specified for the defaultProvider does not exist in the providers collection. I have 'AspNetXmlSiteMapProvider' specified in web.config as per here : link text While I am happy that the code runs properly, the Designer error is bothersome if the underlying issue might cause the code to break in some circumstances so I need to understand what is going on... The code explicitly references the sitemap in the Render Method with : int level = 1; string ul = string.Format("<div class='{0}' id='{1}'>{2}</div>", CssClassName, this.ID.ToString(), EnumerateNodesRecursive(SiteMap.RootNode, level)); output.Write(ul); and the recursive method called referrences SiteMap.CurrentNode. Otherwise there are no explicit sitemap references in the code. Does anyone have any ideas why Deisgner is complaining?

  I have a custom application page integrated in Centeral Administration. My application pages are placed in a subfolder in Template\Admin folder. I placed my own web.config in my subfolder and added tagPrefixes in the control section. When I open this page in the IE browser no JavaScript error is shown and the page is displayed and functions perfectly. But when navigating to the same page with the WebBrowser control, a pop-up appears to inform about a Script error.   I've noticed a discrepancy with some source files in our system whereby some contain source-control checkin comments, and some do not. These comments are added automatically to the top of the file when it is checked in: * $Log: //vm1/Projects/Morpheus/Sleep.bdy-arc $ -- -- Rev 1.14 Apr 14 2009 15:32:52 John Smith --Fixed bugs 2292 and 2230. This seems to have been quite prevelant in all the compainies with which I have worked, but I must confess that I struggle to see the point. Generally the comments aren't that good, are ofen left by people who have long since departed, and even when they are of a high standard it is difficult to tie them to physical code changes. It also strikes me, that you are physically changing the file that you are checking in. Now, this may not be such a problem with files that will be compiled, but could be a disaster with others, e.g. JavaScript files. So really, my query is what was the motivation in concept behind providing this functionality in the first instance? Does anyone actually find these comments useful? Also, I would be curious to know if this was feature that is commonly supported within Source Control systems. I am aware of it with PVCS, VSS and Subversion (Subversion Keyword Substitution), however I wonder if it is also available in some of the more popular DVCSs. • Get rid of case sensitive username in custom membership provider

  Hi, I implemented a custom membership provider in ASP.net MVC, and can't figure out how to make the username non case-sensitive at signin. So, for example, "Solomon" could log in, but "solomon" could not. My implementation is very bare bones. I basically just wrote code for ValidateUser(), and Change Password(). Thanks for the help!
