  Hi All, I need to develop a Instant Lottery game app. I need an idea/procedure to implement Scratchable custom widget similar to instant Lottery Tickets in Android. The requirement is like, the actual content(secret number) should be covered by some image(which indicates scratch area). When the user touch and scratch the image, the image has to disappear slowly and the background content(secret number) should appear accordingly. Please let me know the best way to implement this.   Hello folks, I'm writing a sync application for Lotus Notes and Google (I know, there are some of them out there, but they are either not free or sync only calendar (or only contacts) and most of them cannot deal with local mailfiles). This works so far, but I have a problem when syncing contacts: under certain circustances, the contacts have to be deleted and recreated in Google. This causes them to disappear from the chat list in GMail and the people have to be re-invited manually. Is there any way to send these invites through the API? Thanks in advance DBa

• Gen folder disappearing in Eclipse Android project

  I'm just getting started developing for Android and I'm running into a weird problem. First off, I'm running Eclipse for Java devs v3.5.2 with the Android 2.1 SDK installed. Basically, whenever I do just about anything the "gen" (R.java, etc.) folder will just disappear from the project. I'm seen some people online say that it was still on the drive, just gone from the project listing in Eclipse, but in my case it is literally and completely gone. The only fix I've found is that if I refresh, then try to build, it gives an error and "gen" shows up in the project view (though it's not on the disk), then delete it from within the project, then Rebuild All and it will say that it cannot find it and is recreating it. Problem is, I have to do this every single time I want to build. There's got to be a fix for this.

• Dismissing the keyboard in a UIScrollView

  Alright, I have a couple of UITextFields and UITextViews inside a UIScrollView, and I'd like to set the keyboard to disappear whenever the scrollview is touched or scrolled (except when you touch down inside the text field/view, of course). My current attempt at doing this is replacing the UIScrollView with a subclass, and setting it to call a removeKeyboard function (defined inside the main view controller) inside the touchesBegan method. However, this only removes the keyboard for a normal touch, not when the view is simply scrolled. So, what's the best way to remove the keyboard inside a UIScrollView?   I have looked at the Android API and other posts here on stackoverflow, but have not been able to figure this out. My app downloads files to the sd card. I would like to pop a "loading..." dialog while the file is downloading and then have it disappear when the download is finished. This is what i came up with using the android API: ProgressDialog pd = ProgressDialog.show(this,"","Loading. Please wait...",true); //download file pd.cancel(); however the dialog doesn't actually show. when i debug it, it claims that it is showing, but it is obviously not on the screen. what can i do?

• FacesMessages and rich:effect?

  I'd like to be able to make an Ajax call using JSF/Seam/RichFaces and have the page update with the relevant h:messages component. That works with no problem. I'm able to perform the appropriate reRender. However, I'd also like to be able to make use of rich:effect to make it a bit prettier. Ideally, I'd like to be able to have the messages fade in and then disappear when the user clicks on them. However, I've been unable to get this working thus far. Has anyone gotten such a scenario working? Does anyone who knows JSF/Seam a bit better than me have any good advice? Thanks in advance!

• Connecting two DialogBoxes in GWT

  In my GWT project, I'm trying to get it so two DialogBoxes can pass information between each other. One of them holds a MapWidget, and when a button is pressed in the other DialogBox, the position information is received from that other DialogBox's MapWidget. Does anyone have any tips for how I should coordinate between having two different DialogBoxes show up? Should I wrap the code for the two in a Composite? Furthermore, is there an example anywhere of dealing with two DialogBoxes at once in GWT? For example, if I click outside of the two boxes, both should be dismissed. I'm wondering if there's a way to keep both of them in focus at once, so I can switch between the two without causing either to disappear.

  I have a UINavigationController. On the right top i have a button on click of which i have to get a drop down table view. I created another UIViewController Class, with xib and added it as a subView to the current view. It should appear on 1st click and disappear on the 2nd click. This should happen for all click(open view and close view).   I've implemented a masstransit saga that works as should, a lot of times. However, there are times when the messages go to the error queue or just seem to disappear. I'd like to know: 1. How do I get the reason/exception message that causes a message to go to the error queue? (NOTE: My handler logic is within a try-catch block so apparently these errors happen even before the handler logic is called) 2. What could be responsible for the lost messages? Thanks in advance.

  I got function in Flash (Action Script 3) - that makes snowflakes falling. Now i want to make this snowflakes appear on screen only for 3 seconds. So I'm trying to use Timer class but i got problem: var myTimer:Timer = new Timer(3000, 1); myTimer.addEventListener(TimerEvent.TIMER, snowflakes); myTimer.start(); function snowflakes(event:TimerEvent):void { //snowflakes faling function } In this case snowflakes appear after 3 seconds and stay on the stage forver...So its kinda opposite what i wanted. I want them to appear from the very beginning then disappear after 3 second. How can I do that ?

  On the iPhone, when you add a sub layer to a visible view's layer, using either -addSublayer: or -removeFromSuperlayer, shouldn't that sub layer appear or disappear in an animated manner (ie. fade in or fade out gradually)? My program animates using layers (not views). When I change a property of a layer like position or image content, then the change does animate (layer streaks around it's parent layer, the layer fades from the old image to the new image), so I obviously have the layers & view setup correctly. However, when I add or remove a sub layer, the change occurs instantly; there is no animation. Reading the references, it says that if the layer is visible, the sub layer should animate when adder or removed. What am I doing wrong? Has anyone had a similar problem, and was able to find a solution? Thank you, Steve Sheets

  I want to bind the presence of an attribute to a variable in AngularJS. Specifically, sandbox for an iframe. Say I have $myCtrl.allowJavascript as a variable, I want to do: <iframe src="..." sandbox /> Where the sandbox attribute is present when allowJavascript == false, and I want the sandbox attribute to disappear when allowJavascript == true. Does AngularJS have a mechanism for this? The closest thing I could find was here, which basically says "it will just work for certain attributes"--but not for sandbox.

  Hello! I've made a content type for links, I'm trying to make a link directory. People only have to submit the link, description is voluntary. If no description is entered, I want the header that says "description" to disappear. The description field is the node body. Right now my snippet looks like this <?php if (!empty($node->body)) {?> <div class="field field-type-link field-field-link-archive"> <h3>Description</h3> <?php print $node->content['body']['#value'] ?></div> <?php }?> I expect this to check if node body is not empty, and if it isn't it'll print what's there. The problem is that the Description header is still printed out even if the node body is empty. Can anyone see what's wrong?

• Netbeans 7.2 not starting

  I recently installed Netbeans 7.2 beta and it worked fine. Then I installed Netbeans 7.2 final release on top of beta and during the installation, Netbeans 7.1 and Netbeans 7.12 were there. Now when I launch Netbeans, it does not go beyond "loading modules" stage. Simply the Netbeans screen disappear few seconds after the launch. Then I did the following. Uninstalled all the Netbeans versions and re-installed Netbeans 7.2 Deleted AppData/Netbeans folder Deleted User/.nbi folder Searched the registry and deleted Netbeans related entries. (But only one entry was found) Deleted Netbeans Folder in Program Files folder. Uninstalled and Re-installed in a separate drive. Uninstalled and Re-installed under another user account. None of the above worked, the only thing I did not try was to re-install the Windows XP operating system. It there any option to try before re-installing the operating system?

• In your opinion what web technology would be best suited for building dropdown menus?

  What I need is a slide menu that is activated by one click. The menu then appears and doesn't disappear until user clicks any where else on the current page. I don't require any effects but need something reliable that I can style with ease, put a thumbnail of a photo inside change dimensions, add mouse over effects etc. I've done a several searches on google and quite a lot of options are coming up and I'm not too sure which would be best for me. I've seen some people suggestion html + css3 and others suggest jquery. Does any of these options have a benefit over the other? I would appreciate your opinions and maybe some links thanks.

  Hi friends, I have a button, while clicking the button i just produce a div containing some checkbox. If the user select the required checkbox, it will produce a iframe according to the value of the checkbox and the div will disappear. Its placed immediately below the button. Up to this its working fine. If the user again click the button, the droping div is comes behind the frame. Please help me to make it visible above the frame. • Hidden links are still clickable on the Android browser

  I've got a contextual menu that appears when a button is clicked. This menu has some links and after some seconds is hidden again. The problem is that after the menu has disappeared the links are still there. They are not shown but are clickable and the green border appears. And after some seconds they disappear. I've tryied many ways of hiding the menu: display: none, visibility: hidden, width: 0, height: 0, jquery hide, jquery fadeout... but none worked. Also hidding the links. And the parent disappears even if the mouse is still inside it.

• My php project work properly on local server but does not work properly when I put it online on the web server, WHY?

  I'm working on a php project.. And I started building the admin login system and have already finished it and it works properly on my machine (local server) where I'm developing the project.. But when I moved it to a (web server) it didn't work properly as it was working on (local server). the problem that showed up is that when the admin get authentication to log in to the admin area, once he clicks any link in the page or even he reloads the page that page disappear and the login page appear again which mean the admin forced to log out even he didn't.

• FLEX: sequence of puppets... 3 requirements

  hi, I'm implementing this sequence of puppets in flex: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/72686/itemsSequence.png I want to show the caption when the mouse rolls over the puppet I want the user being able to click on the buttons of the caption (so the caption doesn't have to disappear when I move the mouse out from the user over the caption). I don't want the puppet component to become bigger when the caption is added (it becomes visible), because the puppets have to stay nearby each other, I cannot resize the objects. So.. I need some guidelines to do it. More precisely: 1) Should I add the components in MXML or pure actionscript ? 2) If I use MXML, should I add also the caption to the flex model, and make it invisible and then change the value with actionscript ? What's the common way to implement it ? thanks
