  • GWT application throws an exception when run on Google Chrome with compiler output style set to 'OBF

    - by Elifarley
I'd like to know if you guys have faced the same problem I'm facing, and how you are dealing with it. Sometimes, a small and harmless change in a Java class ensues strange errors at runtime. These errors only happen if BOTH conditions below are true: 2) the application is run on Google Chrome, and 1) the GWT JavaScript compiler output style is set to 'OBF'. So, running the application on Firefox or IE always works. Running with the output style set to 'pretty' or 'detailed' always works, even on Google Chrome. Here's an example of error message that I got: "((TypeError): Property 'top' of object [object DOMWindow] is not a function stack" And here's what I have: - GWT 1.5.3 - GXT 1.2.4 - Google Chrome 4 and 5 - Windows XP In order to get rid of this Heisenbug, I have to either deploy my application without obfuscation or endure a time-consuming trial-and-error process in which I re-implement the change in slightly different ways and re-run the application, until the GWT compiler is happy with my code. Would you have a better idea on how to avoid this?

  • Is there an open source MVP framework for C++?

    - by morpheous
I am looking for a lightweight set of C++ classes that implement/show how to use the MVP design pattern, so that I can refactor some legacy code I am working on. A library/framework would be nice to get me started. A quick google search seems to bring up only C# examples - is anyone aware of any C++ ones out there? [Edit] I am particularly interested in a Passive viewer, as I want to completely decouple the view from the model.

  • What does it call in GWT to make 2 UI consistent?

    - by DucDigital
I saw a video of Google I/O and found an example of GWT UI being very consistent between clients. Which you can save, add, drag and drop in almost real time between clients. I currently don't understand the basic of this (In GWT, i think it implement Comet), so is there anyone can give me a term or definition for this? so I can get it on Google for more information? Thank you very much

  • Now with GWT2, what are the advantages over wicket and likewise?

    - by Antony Stubbs
Apart from the argument of wicket's simplicity (that is, wicket is a simpler system IMHO) and GWT's responsiveness in the client (GWT's client side state and javascript - potentially complex client side code) and GWT's greater potential for scaling, what is the argument for using GWT over wicket? Personally I've done a lot of wicket development, but have only had a quick look at GWT a long time ago.

  • Is it possible to debug GWT client code on a REMOTE server using IntelliJ 9 Community Edition?

    - by Nadav
I'm trying to move our Google Web Toolkit (GWT) development from Eclipse to IntelliJ 9 Community edition. So far I've been able to run and debug client/server code successfully via the GWT Maven plugin and its embedded Jetty container. However, I'm having trouble debugging client code when it is already running on a remote machine (and hence there's no need for the embedded Jetty container). Has anyone been successful at achieving this? Any help would be appreciated!

  • SQLAuthority News – Pinal Dave: Blogger, MVP and now Interviewee by Michael J Swart

    - by pinaldave
Michael J. Swart is a very unique person. I have often exchanged emails with him and also used a couple of his scripts in my presentations (with his permission). Every time I conduct spatial database presentation, I always start with his script where he has drawn the wonderful image of Botticelli’s Birth of Venus. I often think he is more of a creative artist than IT professional. However, if you read his blog posts and articles, they are top notch and each article is as creative as his caricatures. He is wonderful, inspiring, creative and most importantly, very humble. He recently took my interview and asked me some very interesting question. To answer his question, I had to share some of the interesting aspects of my life which I have had never shared in any interview before. He made me share the following interesting facts. Pinal Dave Caricatures Read my Interview Here are a few questions that I have answered at his blog: How I met my wife? Best moments of my life? How to pronounce my last name? Who inspired me? English as a Third Language. I am also thankful to Michael for drawing my caricature. I really liked it and I am very glad that he took time to do so. • SQLBeat Podcast – Episode 7 – Niko Neugebauer, Linguist, SQL MVP and Hekaton Lover

    - by SQLBeat
In this episode of the SQLBeat Podcast I steal Niko Neugebaur away from his guarded post at the PASS Community Zone at Summit 2012 in Seattle to chat with me about several intriguing topics. Mainly we discuss Hekaton and in memory databases, languages of all sorts, Microsoft’s direction, Reporting Services and Java. Or was that Java Script? Probably best that I stick with what I know and that is SQL Server. Niko, as always, is thoughtful and straightforward, congenial and honest. I like that about him and I know you will too. Enjoy! • MVP Nomination

    - by Nick Harrison
I have debated posting this or not. My initial thought was not to post about it. My thought was not to blog about it thinking that I would spare myself the embarrassment if I wasn't awarded. A little paranoid, I know, but these are paranoid times. After more reflection, I realize that there is no embarrassment in not winning. There is great honor in being nominated. Instead of worrying about not winning in the end, I need to enjoy the moment and enjoy being nominated. This is an extreme honor. I would to hear your stories of being nominated? What was the process like? What was your reaction? Hopefully, I will have some good news to share here soon. If not, being nominated truly is an honor.

  • How to declare dependent style names with UiBinder

    - by Eduard Wirch
I have a simple UiBinder widget containing a TextArea: <!DOCTYPE ui:UiBinder SYSTEM "http://dl.google.com/gwt/DTD/xhtml.ent"> <ui:UiBinder xmlns:ui="urn:ui:com.google.gwt.uibinder" xmlns:g="urn:import:com.google.gwt.user.client.ui"> <g:TextArea visibleLines="3" /> </ui:UiBinder> I want to control the background color of this textarea for writeable and read only states. GWT uses the "-readonly" style name decorator to achieve this. So I try this: <!DOCTYPE ui:UiBinder SYSTEM "http://dl.google.com/gwt/DTD/xhtml.ent"> <ui:UiBinder xmlns:ui="urn:ui:com.google.gwt.uibinder" xmlns:g="urn:import:com.google.gwt.user.client.ui"> <ui:style> .textBoxStyle { background-color:yellow; } .textBoxStyle-readonly { background-color:lightgray; } </ui:style> <g:TextArea styleName="{style.textBoxStyle}" visibleLines="3" /> </ui:UiBinder> Obviously this won't work because style names are obfuscated for CssResources resulting in something like this: .G1x26wpeN { background-color:yellow } .G1x26wpeO { background-color: lightgray; } The result HTML for writeable textarea looks like this: <textarea tabindex="0" class="G1x26wpeN" rows="3"/> The read only textarea looks like this: <textarea tabindex="0" class="G1x26wpeN G1x26wpeN-readonly" readonly="" rows="3"/> How do I declare the style so GWT will obfuscate the primary part but not the "-readonly" decdorator? I know that I can disable the obfuscation for the entire style name. But I'd like to keep the obfuscation while making use of the decorators.
