    I saw this question http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2021716/inject-into-private-package-or-public-field-or-provide-a-setter about how to manually inject into annotated private fields (The way is adding setters or through a constructor) But, the point is how do an application server (like glassfish, axis2, jboss, ...) is able to inject into a final private field (without adding setters or constructors to the user class)? Quoting the cited question: public SomeClass { @Inject private SomeResource resource; } Do they use a customized JVM (not the standard one) that allows to access private fields? Thanks

  • Remote connection to SQL server doesn't use the instance name

    I have a web server with SQL express 2008 installed. I was trying to connect to this from my local machine using SSMS. After enabling TCP/IP in SQL configuration manager, starting SQL browser service and opening up the firewall I still couldn't connect using xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx\sqlexpress as the server name. Finally out of frustration I tried to connect taking off the sqlexpress instance name to just xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx and it worked! I'm really at a loss here as to why this works. What would happen if I installed more instances of SQL?

  • Storage (EBS) attached to my EC2 instance reporting files on two devices at once

    I have on EC2 instance with two attached EBS drives. One drive /dev/sda1 is mounted on / The second /dev/sda2 is mounted on /var2 So here's what's strange. Whenever I add any files to /var2 the it is also reporting that the / device is also filling up. As if they are the same device. It's so strange. So if I were to save a 10 mb file to a directory on /var2. Both / and /var2 use 10 mb of space up. Is this bizarre?

    I have a java class that uses complex static fields which need special operations as close() so that they are safely cleaned by GC. For the initialization of static fields I use the static block. But I don't now how to unload the static field safely, so that I can call the close() method before the field is cleaned up by GC. Is there any way to unload a static field, similar to the static initialization block?

    I have a data collection job that fails when a Database on the instance is in Recovery Mode. The database in recovery is the MIRROR partner in the database mirror. The Job that fails is as follows. collection_set_1_noncached_collect_and_upload The job consists of the following steps dcexec -u -s 1 -i "INSTANCE03" EXEC [dbo].[sp syscollector purge collection logs] dcexec -u -s 1 -i "INSTANCE03" The job fails at Step 1. I have run the steps manually and they all appear to be ok. If I change the mirror database to be the principal the job completes successfully.

Now, I try to make connection from SpotLight running on Windows 7 to the Instance of one of nodes (TNS name of it is: LIBD1) This what I do: Make new connection - give user with SYS permission - connect - get error about that, that user not configured - User Configuration Wizard opens - give SYS as user with sysdba permissions (real SYS not other user with SYS permission) - check "configure new user" option - give new user name - next And I get error: DBMS_SQL access.denied. What I do wrong? Thank you for ahead.

    I have just installed the MS FTP 7.5 upgrade on my Windows 2008 Server (Service Pack 2) running on an Amazon EC2 instance. In the FTP Firewall Support settings for the server in IIS Manager I have set up the passive port range 45001 - 45005 and also set the External Firewall IP address to match the assigned Amazon Elastic IP address. Using the AWS Console I changed the Security Group for the server to allow access to the server through ports 21 and 45001 through 45005. Using an FTP client (either the command line FTP client or Windows Explorer) on the Amazon server I can connect to the FTP server but I cannot connect with an external FTP client. When I checked to see which ports were open on the server using Shields Up it shows that port 21 is open but ports 45001 to 45005 are closed. I assume I'm missing something. Any help greatly appreciated.

  • NIC disabled in AWS instance

    Nothing makes you feel dumber than disabling a NIC while in RDP, but here I am :) I have mounted the volume on another instance and tried editing the registry. I have tried enabling auto logon and using runonce to run a netsh command to enable the NIC, but that does not work. I read something about enabling the NIC through the registry directly, but have had no luck in doing this. Has anyone dealt with this type of issue? I'm going nuts! Thank you!

But is it OK to use it for restoring transient fields, like so: private Object readResolve() { transientField = something; return this; } as opposed to using readObject(): private void readObject(ObjectInputStream s) { s.defaultReadObject(); transientField = something; } Is there any reason to choose one over other, when used to just restore transient fields?

I can make them either display besides the input fields OR inside a validation summary, but not in both. I'd like to have the error messages duplicated (one for the input field and another for the validation summary). Is it possible? If yes, how? Thanks

    I would like to start the Jade agent platform with a batch script on an windows server ec2 instance as a service. The reason for this is, that I want to start jade automatically at system startup. For creating the service I use nssm. However so far its working fine and the service is created. When I want to start the service I get an error message: Windows could not start the NAME service on Local Computer. The service did not return an error... My batch file contains only one line: java jade.Boot -platform-id P%random% If i execute the script via cmd it works fine. Anybody got an idea why this is not working if I start the batch script as a service?

  • Most efficient way to update attribute of one instance

    Hi all - I'm creating an arbitrary number of instances (using for loops and ranges). At some event in the future, I need to change an attribute for only one of the instances. What's the best way to do this? Right now, I'm doing the following: 1) Manage the instances in a list. 2) Iterate through the list to find a key value. 3) Once I find the right object within the list (i.e. key value = value I'm looking for), change whatever attribute I need to change. for Instance within ListofInstances: if Instance.KeyValue == SearchValue: Instance.AttributeToChange = 10 This feels really inefficient: I'm basically iterating over the entire list of instances, even through I only need to change an attribute in one of them. Should I be storing the Instance references in a structure more suitable for random access (e.g. dictionary with KeyValue as the dictionary key?) Is a dictionary any more efficient in this case?     I have a VPC setup with a few EC2 instances inside. I'm attempting to connect to a MySQL database on an EC2 instance outside the VPC, with no luck. I have the security groups on the VPC EC2 instances set to outbound 0.0.0.0/0 which I assumed would let it connect to any outbound connection. I also followed a tutorial on creating a NAT, but wasn't exactly sure how to use it to connect to an external database. In any case, if anyone has experience and knows the proper way to connect to a database outside the VPC, it would be greatly appreciated!

    When I try to write a field that includes whitespace in it, it gets split into multiple fields on the space. What's causing this? It's driving me insane.     I need to run my second postgresql instance when linux boots. I added this command (like in postgresql documentation) in rc.local: /usr/lib/postgresql/9.1/bin/pg_ctl start -l logfile -D /var/lib/postgresql/9.1/main2 But if I try to run pg_ctl: cannot be run as root Please log in (using, e.g., "su") as the (unprivileged) user that will own the server process. t, it gives me this error: How can I specify to run that command as postgres, but actually execute it with root (because root owns it). Or is there some better way to make second init script for postgresql? P.S. (I'm using Ubuntu)
