  • Internet Connection Dying after some time

    I'm using BSNL 3G USB Datacard(BSNL is a ISP in India). After connecting to internet, while browsing in browser, the connection is dying. So after disconnecting & connecting back, it works proper for some time & the same problem repeats. But if I'm downloading any movie or some file through uTorrent, the connection is not dying. I'm experiencing this problem in Vista & also in Ubuntu. Help me with this please. Thank you.

  • Ubuntu cannot access internet, LAN is fine

    I have an Ubuntu 8.04 LTS server that is directly connected to our Comcast Business Gateway modem and I have configured it with 1 of our 5 allotted Static IPs. My other machines on our LAN can connect to this server (via ssh, web, ping, etc.) but I cannot access this server from outside our network, and this machine cannot get out to the internet either (ping google.com fails with unknown host). I have tried rebooting Ubuntu, rebooting my Comcast modem, but nothing seems to make it work. I'm an Ubuntu noob, is there some other config I need to apply to make this work?   • Accesing internet with Host-Only network VirtualBox

    I have two VMs in my VirtualBox. Both are FreeBSD and should communicate between each other. I have created network with DHCP enabled and set like this: Server Address 10.10.10.1 Server Mask 255.255.255.0 Lower Address Bound 10.10.10.100 Upper Address Bound 10.10.10.200 My VMs are pinging each other and getting right ip adress. This is what I must have and can´t change. Now I want to access internet from one VM and I found that I must use two network cards but I don´t know how to set the second one. I am new with VirtualBox and this stuff so if you count with this in you answer I would appreciate that. And I have Windows 8 as host system if it´s matter.

    I want to make my ftp server over the internet i made it on Debian linux computer and i changed the port of it to 201 my local ip is 192.168.1.3 so i can access it from any computer on my network through ftp :// mylocalip:201 it appear to me the login page i login with my linux user and can see the files on my ftp server to make it public i make port mapping on my router for port 201 when i try ftp :// mypublicip:201 it give me the login page and when i entered the login data it is loading infinity without open my ftp server files when i made it over default port 21 it works fine. can any one tell me what is the problem here?

  • Internet printing : print to iOS gateway -> AirPrint / something -> Laser printers

    I've done a bit of research on the Internet, and it looks like I'm on a dead end. My goal is to minimize cost, and be able to send and print documents AUTOMATICALLY (may be 10 or 20 pages per day) to a laser printer in a remote office. The preliminary method is to use: iOS 5.1.1 (JB'ed) with 3G connection, HP (or other brands) printer with AirPrint, iCloud's Documents and may be write some launchd scripts to monitor any new documents in iCloud. May be with other software. I am not sure yet. By using the cloud, I can upload new docs to the cloud anywhere in my city, and the iOS will be able to see them within a reasonable amount of time, then print it. But it seems this combo is not workable. Anyone got any advice on how to make this set up work, or propose other alternatives that requires NO PC or Mac? Currently I have a 3GS with 3G connectivity spare. Need to buy a new printer though.

    Hello I had some malware in my computer so I did a bit of manual work to remove it including resetting TCP/IP. Now the malware is gone. I can see my home wireless network and I can get connected to it but when connected I get the Internet wireless connected with limited access message. When I go to the IE I cannot browse. When I tried to ping 192.168.1.1 I got an Error Code 1231 Unconnected Network Problem. I have deactivated my Windows firewall as I thought it could be hyperactive security. Still no luck. I have Norton but it is not active, I have also Avast and AVG installed but they are not active. Any ideas?

  • Problem with Win7 connecting to Internet

    Hello, I have had Windows 7 for about a year now and for the first four months it worked perfectly. But for the last 8 months it has been horrible. It will connect to the Internet for about 5 minutes and then just lose connection. It will reconnect in about 5 minues but then it just keeps disconnecting. I ran a virus scan about 2 weeks ago and I found a Trojan on my PC which I removed and dealt with. It was fine after that but now for these last couple days it has been just as bad as before. I think a virus is causing this but I will read any suggestions and tips to help me solve this problem. Thank you.     Is there a way to stop Foxit PhantomPDF from opening a linked PDF in the browser plugin? My desired behavior is for it to open the PDF in a Foxit PhantomPDF window. I've looked for an add-in, but there is none. Foxit support recommended the following solution -- select File Preferences File Associations Advanced Uncheck Include Browser... Select OK Select Make Default PDF Viewer but it didn't make a difference. How exactly is Internet Explorer making the decision to open it in the browser plugin instead of a separate PhantomPDF window? How can I change that?

  • IPv6 feature in Network Adaptor is Slowing Internet

    The past few days, my internet browsing has become very poor. It's not a matter of speed, as a speed test will give at least 15Mbps. It seems as if my laptop has a hard time actually connecting to the sites. I've found a possible culprit, but don't know why it would affect anything: Going to adapter settings and disabling ipv6, but leaving ipv4, my browsing is back to normal. Re-enabling ipv6 brings back the issue. This is strange though, because I have always had ipv6 enabled. Moreover, using sites to test ipv6 compatibility, I fail with ipv6 enabled on my adapter, and pass when it's disabled. Ideas about why this is happening, and how to fix it?

  • Computer connects to lan, but not the internet

    I have a computer with Vista Home that can connect to the router, but it cannot get on the internet. I cannot ping google.com, the request times out. I've tried this on two separate networks and have no trouble with other computers connecting. I've renewed ipconfig, reset winsock, updated the wireless adapter, and the hosts file looks fine. I've tried disabling the firewall as well as a direct wired connection. I did a scan with Norton and it didn't find anything. Is there anything else I can try before resorting to a system restore? Update (Copied from Answer) Windows Update was able to find updates and install them (though, they could have already been downloaded previously). When I pinged Google by using their IP 66.102.9.103, it said it lost 25 percent of the packets. I successfully flushed the DNS but it didn't help. Also, I found safe mode with networking works fine.

  • Disable address bar in Internet Explorer 9

    I'm trying to disable the address bar in IE9. I've done a significant amount of searching on this and just can't seem to find a way to make it happen. A lot of web resources discuss how to do it in IE8, but not IE9. The reason you might ask? I have an application being hosted in a remote desktop farm that links to web pages outside of the application into Internet Explorer. I need to ensure users are limited to just going to the pages the program pushes them to. I realize I could use a proxy server to limit where they can go, but I'm trying to find a really simple way to just disable the address bar instead. I can't use Kiosk mode because it puts the browser into full screen mode. This won't work for my situation as I need to give users what appears to be a regular browsing experience without an address bar.

Basically, I'm implementing an interface that doesn't have access to the actual request, it just has access to a map of k-v for the HTTP headers. I need to pass in a request parameter. The plan is to use a servlet filter to go from parameter to header value but of course the HttpServletRequest object doesn't have an addHeader() method. Any ideas?
