• Undefined Results in jQuery Autocomplete

  So I've got the latest versions of jQuery and UI running. I'm using the basic autocomplete invocation and returning valid JSON (validated via JSONLint). $("input#cust_id").autocomplete({ source: yoda.app.base + "/assets/cfc/util/autocomplete.cfc?method=cust", minLength: 2, select: function(event, ui) { log(ui.item ? I can watch the results returned via Firebug and the JSON is correct there as well. Also, while the list only says "undefined" it does say that the same number of times as records returned in JSON. • Different controllers with the same name in two different areas results in a routing conflict

  I have two areas: ControlPanel and Patients. Both have a controller called ProblemsController that are similar in name only. The desired results would be routes that yield /controlpanel/problems = MyApp.Areas.ControlPanel.Controllers.ProblemsController and /patients/problems = MyApp.Areas.Patients.Controllers.ProblemsController. Each has routes configured like this: public override void RegisterArea(AreaRegistrationContext context) { context.MapRoute( "**Area Name Here**_default", "**Area Name Here**/{controller}/{action}/{id}", new { action = "Index", id = UrlParameter.Optional } ); } where **Area Name Here** is either ControlPanel or Patients. When I go to /patients/problems/create (for example), I get a 404 where the routing error says: A public action method 'create' was not found on controller 'MyApp.Areas.ControlPanel.Controllers.ProblemsController'. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong.

I would like to bind this return to a gridview within a WPF application. Is there a way to refernce and bind to result variable or do I need to create a new collection and then add the return of result to the new collection? thank you

• WCF Paged Results & Data Export

  I've walked into a project that is using a WCF service for the data tier. Currently, when data is needed for a grid, all rows are returned and the results are bound to a grid and the dataset is stuffed into a session variable for paging/sorting/rebinding. We've already hit a max message size problem, so I'm thinking it's time to convert from fetch and cache to fetch only the current page. Face value this seems easy enough, but there's a small catch. The user is allowed to export the entire result set at any point. This means that for grid viewing purposes fetching the current page is fine, but when they want to do an export, I still need to make a call for all data. This puts me back into the max message size issue. What is the recommended approach for this type of setup? We are currently using the wsHttpBinding... Thanks for any assistance.

• SimpleDateFormat give inconsistent results

  I am trying to parse a date and I am getting different results when I run the code locally/BST compare to a server in Paris/CEST. I've reproduced the issue in a the following sample. This is trying to parse the start date for the Australian Grand Prix. TimeZone tz = TimeZone.getTimeZone("AET"); DateFormat dateFormat = new SimpleDateFormat("dd/MM/yyyy HH mm"); dateFormat.setTimeZone(tz); long time = dateFormat.parse("28/03/2010 17 00").getTime(); System.out.println("Time "+time); It seems like I am setting the timezone correctly on the date format and the current timezone shouldn't be affecting the code. But locally it prints 1269756000000 and in Paris 1269759600000. Any idea?

• Incomplete results with Turkish characters in Indexing Service

  Finally I get to post my i's and I's as promised... I've found that MS Indexing Service returns incomplete results when searching for documents with Turkish content. It seems to choke especially regarding the (incorrectly-named) 4I problem. Apparently, MS has fixed this problem with a Windows 2000 http://support.microsoft.com/kb/325333 service pack, but the bug seems to be resurrected with Windows XP & 2003. Anybody uses Indexing Service in their line of work? Similar problems with other non-English locales? Any solutions?

  Hi I want to write a mysql statement which will return a list of results from one table along with a comma separated list of field from another table. I think an example might better explain it Table 1 ======================== id First_Name Surname ---------------------- 1 Joe Bloggs 2 Mike Smith 3 Jane Doe Table 2 ======================== id Person_Id Job_id --------------------- 1 1 1 2 1 2 3 2 2 4 3 3 5 3 4 I want to return a list of people with a comma separated list of job_ids. So my result set would be id First_Name Surname job_id ------------------------------ 1 Joe Bloggs 1,2 2 Mike Smith 2 3 Jane Doe 3,4 I guess the sql would be something like select id, First_Name, Surname, (SELECT job_id FROM Table 2) as job_id from Table 1 but obviously this does not work so need to change the '(SELECT job_id FROM Table 2) as job_id' part.   I have a table with something like the following: ID Name Color 1 Bob Blue 2 John Yellow 1 Bob Green 3 Sara Red 3 Sara Green What I would like to do is return a filtered list of results whereby the following data is returned: ID Name Color 1 Bob Blue 2 John Yellow 3 Sara Red i.e. I would like to return 1 row per user. (I do not mind which row is returned for the particular user - I just need that the [ID] is unique.) I have something already that works but is really slow where I create a temp table adding all the ID's and then using a "OUTER APPLY" selecting the top 1 from the same table, i.e. CREATE TABLE #tb ( [ID] [int] ) INSERT INTO #tb select distinct [ID] from MyTable select T1.[ID], T2.[Name], T2.Color from #tb T1 OUTER APPLY ( SELECT TOP 1 * FROM MyTable T2 WHERE T2.[ID] = T1.[ID] ) AS V2 DROP TABLE #tb Can somebody suggest how I may improve it? • Viewing Code Coverage Results outside of Visual studio

  I've got some unit tests, and got some code coverage data. Now, I'd like to be able to view that code coverage data outside of visual studio, say in a web browser. But, when I export the code coverage to an xml file, I can't do anything with it. Are there readers out there for this? Do I have to write an xml parser and then display it how I want it (seems like a waste since visual studio already does this.) Seems kinda silly to have to take a screenshot of my code coverage results as my "report" Suggestions?

So, instead of; January February March April May June July August September November December It will order them like this; April (current month/day) May June July August September November December January February March April (all the way up to yesterday)

• How to achieve multiple grids like the SQL server Results pane

  Hi guys ! I'm having problems with my project once again :( The front end is C# I need to support multiline querying like MS SQL server and when these queries are executed, naturally there are going to be multiple result sets. Getting the datatables respective to the results is not a problem, but how do i make it appear like its done in MS SQL server. One result set below the other and with a scroll bar? Should i bind it to a datagrid? If so how can i bind multiple tables to a datagrid ? and will it generate the scrollbars and the columns automatically? If i am not clear, please let me know and i'll try to be more clearer. ps: If anyone knows how this can be done with the XtraGridControl in devexpress that would be awesome ! :D

This link link text suggests that by default the "print" statement prints numbers to 10 significant figures, but that does not seem to be the case in my results. How are the number of significant digits/precision determined? Can someone shed some light on this for me. Thanks in advance for your time and patience.

I can execute: SELECT COUNT (Field1) WHERE (Field1 <> '') AS Field1Count SELECT COUNT (Field2) WHERE (Field2 <> '') AS Field2Count SELECT COUNT (Field3) WHERE (Field3 <> '') AS Field3Count SELECT COUNT (Field4) WHERE (Field4 <> '') AS Field4Count Is it possible to roll up these separate SQL statements into one that will return the 4 results in one hit? Is there any performance advantage to doing so (given that the number of columns and rows may be quite large in practice)?

• iPhone: Fetched Results Controller, don't use sections in UITableView

  I am using a fetched results controller, which, it seems wants to set up using sections in my UITableView. Well, in this case, I don't want to use sections. Which, is easy enough to set the value for numberOfSectionsInTableView: to 1. But, now I am not sure how to get the numberOfRowsInSection: to return all of the cells into one section. - (NSInteger)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView numberOfRowsInSection:(NSInteger)section { // Return the number of rows in the section. id <NSFetchedResultsSectionInfo> sectionInfo = [[fetchedResultsController sections] objectAtIndex:section]; return [sectionInfo numberOfObjects]; } How can I make that method return all the cells, since I only want to use 1 section?

• Strange profiling results: definitely non-bottleneck method pops up

  I'm profiling a program using sampling profiling in YourKit and JProfiler, and also "manually" (I launch it and press Ctrl-Break several times to get thread dumps). All three methods give me extremely strange results: some tens of percents of time spent in a 3-line method that does not even do any allocation or synchronization and doesn't have loops etc. Moreover, after I made this method into a NOP and even removed its invocation completely, the observable program performance didn't change at all (although it got a negligible memory leak, since it was a method for freeing a cheap resource). I'm thinking that this might be because of the constraints that JVM puts on the moments at which a thread's stacktrace may be taken, and it somehow turns out that in my program it is exactly the moments where this method is invoked, although there is absolutely nothing special about it or the context in which it is invoked. What can be the explanation for this phenomenon? What are the aforementioned constraints? What further measurements can I take to clarify the situation?

• acts_as_taggable_on and auto_complete returning no results

  I'm using acts_as_taggable_on in a model, and am trying to implement the auto_complete plugin. It seems as though I have everything hooked up correctly, but the search isn't returning any results.   In SSMS I've gotten my for xml path query written and it's beautiful. I put it in an "Execute SQL Task" in the Control Flow, set the resultset to XML. Now how to I get the results into an actual xml file that I can turn around and FTP to a third party? This should have been so easy! I would put the XML into a variable but we are looking at a HUGE file, possibly 100mb+ Do I need to use a Script Task? (I'd like to avoid that if there is another option.)

For example: mysite.com/site/business/5 (where 5 is the id of the business).   When querying for large ammount of data through WMI (say the windows events log Win32_NTLogEvent) it is very useful to know what kind of numbers you are getting yourself into before downloading all the content. Is there a way two do this? From what i know there is no "Select Count(*) FROM Win32_NTLogEvent" in WQL. From what i know the Count property of the ManagementObjectCollection actually enumerates through all the results whether you have the Rewindable property set to true or false. If it cannot be done in .NET, can it be done by directly using the underlying IWbem objects Thanks

• Drupal Webforms module - Form results say "Array" instead of form values

  I have a simple form built with the Webforms module in Drupal. The standard textfield form fields work perfectly. However if I use the preset date or time form values, they don't get emailed properly when the form is submitted. For instance, if there was a date field in my form, it would submit fine and render on the results page just fine, but if I wanted that value to be included in an email, it would show up as "Array" within the text of the email instead of showing the date. There is an open support issue within the module issues page, but I'm hoping for any additional help.

  I'm not sure this is even possible, but I need a confirmation before doing it the "ugly" way :) So, the "results" are posts inside a database which are stored like this: the posts table, which contains all the important stuff, like the ID, the title, the content the post meta table, which contains additional post data, like the rating (this_rating) and the number of votes (this_num_votes). This data is stored in pairs, the table has 3 columns: post ID / key / value. It's basically the WordPress table structure. What I want is to pull out the highest rated posts, sorted based on this formula: br = ( (avg_num_votes * avg_rating) + (this_num_votes * this_rating) ) / (avg_num_votes + this_num_votes) which I stole form here. avg_num_votes and avg_rating are known variables (they get updated on each vote), so they don't need to be calculated. Can this be done with a mysql query? Or do I need to get all the posts and do the sorting with PHP?

  I need to concatenate several columns of a table into a single value, then show that value in an asp dropdownlist. The SQL code I'm issuing is as follows: SELECT UserID, CustomerNum, UserName + ' - ' + UserAddress + ',' + UserCity + ' ' + UserState AS UserInfo FROM Users WHERE (CustomerNum = @CustomerNum) ORDER BY UserName I then set 'UserInfo' as the text field in the dropdownlist. This generally works, except occasionally one of the columns in the database is null (for example, UserState). When that happens, the entire concatenation is null, and I get an empty entry in the dropdownlist. Is there something in SQLServer that will allow me to ignore those NULL results, or will I have to code something up in the DataBind event? Thanks
