  • changing a picker to table view OR having multiple table views on the same view

    - by Brodie4598
Hello - My iPad app was rejected due to my use of a picker. The picker was used to control a table view. In my view, a picker was displaying a series of items and when one of those items was selected, it used that selection to populate a table with data. (hopefully that makes sense). Now I need to do this without the picker so I need to have the data that was in the picker be represented in a table view. My question, is how do I have multiple tableViews in the same view? I'm guessing I need to have some kind of if statement in the tableview delegate methods, but I'm not quite sure what the if statement needs to be. Or maybe i'm thinking of this the totally wrong way thanks

  • Adding a Third Table to a Two-Table Join Query

    - by John
    Hello, The query below works just fine. It pulls fields from two MySQL tables, "comment" and "login". It does this for rows where "username" in the table "login" equals the variable "$profile." It also pulls fields for rows where "loginid" in the table "comment" equals the "loginid" that is also being pulled from "login." I would like to pull data from a third table called "submission," which has the following fields: submissionid loginid title url displayurl datesubmitted I would like to pull fields from rows in "submission" where "loginid" equals the "loginid" that is already being pulled from the other two tables, "login" and "comment." How can I do this? Thanks in advance, John Query: $sqlStrc = "SELECT l.username, l.loginid, c.loginid, c.commentid, c.submissionid, c.comment, c.datecommented FROM comment AS c INNER JOIN login AS l ON c.loginid = l.loginid WHERE l.username = '$profile' ORDER BY c.datecommented DESC LIMIT 10";

  • How To Query Many-to-Many Table (one table's values becomes column headers)

    - by CRice
Given this table structure, I want to flatten out the many-to-many relationships and make the values in the Name field of one table into column headers and the quantities from the same table into column values. The current idea which will work is to put the values into a Dictionary (hashtable) and represent this data in code but im wondering if there is a SQL way to do this. I am also using Linq-to-SQL for data access so a Linq-to-SQL solution would be ideal. [TableA] (int Id) [TableB] (int id, string Name) [TableAB] (int tableAId, int tableBId, int Quantity) fk: TableA.Id joins to TableAB.tableAId fk: TableB.Id joins to TableAB.tableBId Is there a way I can query the three tables and return one result for example: TableA [Id] 1 TableB [Id], [Name] 1, "Red" 2, "Green" 3, "Blue" TableAB [TableAId], [TableBId], [Quantity] 1 1 5 1 2 6 1 3 7 Query Result: [TableA.Id], [Red], [Green], [Blue] 1, 5, 6, 7

  • Syncronizing indices of function pointer table to table contents

    - by Thomas Matthews
In the embedded system I'm working on, we are using a table of function pointers to support proprietary Dynamic Libraries. We have a header file that uses named constants (#define) for the function pointer indices. These values are used in calculating the location in the table of the function's address. Example: *(export_table.c)* // Assume each function in the table has an associated declaration typedef void (*Function_Ptr)(void); Function_Ptr Export_Function_Table[] = { 0, Print, Read, Write, Process, }; Here is the header file: *export_table.h* #define ID_PRINT_FUNCTION 1 #define ID_READ_FUNCTION 2 #define ID_WRITE_FUNCTION 3 #define ID_PROCESS_FUNCTION 4 I'm looking for a scheme to define the named constants in terms of their location in the array so that when the order of the functions changes, the constants will also change. (Also, I would like the compiler or preprocessor to calculate the indices to avoid human mistakes like typeo's.)

  • Mapping LINQ to SQL table to another very similar table without iterating through every one

    - by Daniel Coffman
Apologies for the vague question. Here it is: I have a table object created by LINQ to SQL. I am copying entries from one table to an "archive" table that has all the columns of the original, plus a couple extra ones. It feels sloppy to iterate through every object and manually define the mapping like: foreach (oldTable in dbContextOldTables) { var newTable = new NewTable(); newTable.TableID = oldTable.ID; newTable.Title = oldTable.Title; ... (repeat for twenty columns) newTable.ColumnThatIsntInOldTable = "Data that will be the same for every row"; dbContext.NewTables.InsertOnSubmit(newTable); } dbContext.SubmitChanges(); Is there a clever way to do this?

  • SQL SERVER – Recover the Accidentally Renamed Table

    - by pinaldave
I have no answer to following question. I saw a desperate email marked as urgent delivered in my mailbox. “I accidentally renamed table in my SSMS. I was scrolling very fast and I made mistakes. It was either because I double clicked or clicked on F2 (shortcut key for renaming). However, I have made the mistake and now I have no idea how to fix this. I am in big trouble. Help me get my original tablename.” I have seen many similar scenarios in my life and they give me a very good opportunity to preach wisdom but when the house is burning, we cannot talk about how we should have conserved the water earlier. The goal at that point is to put off the fire as fast as we can. I decided to answer this email with my best knowledge. If you have renamed the table, I think you pretty much is out of luck. Here are few things which you can do which can give you idea about what your tablename can be if you are lucky. Method 1: (Not Recommended but try your luck) Check your naming convention of your system. I have often seen that many organizations name their index as IX_TableName_Colms or name their keys as FK_TableName1_TableName2_Cols. If your organization is following the same you can get the name from your table, you may refer your keys. Again, note that this is quite possible that your tablename was already renamed and your keys were not updated. This can easily lead you to select incorrect name. I think follow this if you are confident or move to the next method. Method 2: (Not Recommended but try your luck) This method is also based on your orgs naming convention. If you use the name of the table in any columnname (some organizations use tablename in their incremental identity column name), you can get that name from there. Method 3: (Not Recommended but try your luck) If you know where your table was used in your stored procedures, you can script your stored procedure and find the name of the table back. Method 4: (Try your luck) All the best organizations first create a data model of the schema and there is good chance that this table is used there, you should take your chances and refer original document. If your organization is good at managing docs or source code, you will get the name of the table back for sure. Method 5: (It WORKS but try on a development server) There is no sure way to get you the name of the table which you accidentally renamed however, there is one way which will work for sure. You need to take your latest full backup and restore it on your development server (remember not on production or where you have renamed this column). Now restore latest differential file of the full backup. Now restore all the log files one by one making sure that you are restoring before the point of time of you renamed the tablename. Now go to explore and this will give you the name of the table which you have renamed. If you are confident that the same table existed with the same name when the last full backup was made, you do not have to go to all the steps. You can just get the name of the table directly from last backup’s restore. Read the article about Backup Timeline. Wisdom: How can I miss to preach wisdom when I get the opportunity to do so? Here are a few points to remember. Use a different account to explore production environment. Do not use the same account which have all the rights and permissions all the time. Use the account which has read only permissions if there are no modification required. Use policy based management to prevent changes which are accidental. If there was policy of valid names, the accidental change of the table was not possible unless it was intentional delibarate changes. Have a proper auditing of the system in place. You can use DDL triggers but be careful with its usage (get it reviewed properly first). (Add your suggestion here) I guess Method 5 will work all the time (using point in time restore). Everything else is chance of luck and if you are lucky are bad – you will get further incorrect name. Now go back and read the first line of this blog. Out of five method four methods are just lucky guesses. The method 5 will work but again it is a lengthy process if the size of the database is huge or if you do not have full backup. Did I miss anything obvious? Please leave a comment and I will publish your answer with due credit. • CSS Equivalent of Table Rowspan with Fluid Height

    - by Gabe
I'm trying to accomplish the following using CSS: <table border="1" width="300px"> <tr> <td rowspan="2">This row should equal the height (no fixed-height allowed) of the 2 rows sitting to the right.</td> <td>Here is some sample text. And some additional sample text.</td> </tr> <tr> <td>Here is some sample text. And some additional sample text.</td> </tr> </table> The examples I've seen for accomplishing this utilize fixed heights or allow the content to wrap around the left column. Is there an elegant way to accomplish this using CSS?

  • HTML table to “graphical text” for code comments

    - by Atif Aziz
Is there a tool (ideally command-line-based) that can help in converting the source to HTML tables into “graphical text” (think perhaps ASCII art for HTML tables) for use in code comments (like /*…*/), as show below? /* +--------------------------------------------------------------------+ | Network | +--------------------------------------------------------------------+ | 11.05.2010 | ABC | DEF | +------------+-------------+-------------+-------------+-------------+ | | INPUT | OUTPUT | INPUT | OUTPUT | +------------+-------------+-------------+-------------+-------------+ | Value | 366,899,791 | 0 | 213,001 | 2,132,827 | +------------+-------------+-------------+-------------+-------------+ */ Background: A piece of code that reads values from HTML tables can be annotated with comments depicting text-based graphical representations of complex HTML table layouts. Someone maintaining the code later can then find it easier to understand, for example, how a piece of code is slicing and dicing an HTML table or plucking values at certain cell positions.

  • MySQL INSERT with table alias

    - by Max Kielland
Hello, I happen to have two columns having the same name as two SQL reserved words, Key and Value. When using the SELECT statement I can create a table alias and solve it that way. Now I'm trying to INSERT data and it seems like you can't create table alias in the INSERT statement. INSERT INTO attributeStrings ats (ats.ItemID,ats.Key,ats.Value) VALUES (3,'Categories','TechGUI') I get error at 'ats (ats.ItemID,ats.Key,ats.Value) VALUES (3,'Categories','TechGUI')' indicating that alias can't be created. Are there any ways to solve this without renaming the columns Key and Value?

Any ideas? $("div#step-2 fieldset table tbody tr td input").blur(function() { var tableRow = $(this).parent().parent(); if ($.trim($(this).val()) == "") { $(this).addClass("invalid"); alert(tableRow.rowIndex); $(this).val(""); } else { $(this).removeClass("invalid"); checkTextChanges(); } });

  • horizontally scrollable table column

    - by Alexandru Cucu
Hello, I would need to build a html table that has a horizontally scrolable column. The scroll should be placed in the column's header. My question first question is: do you know any jquery plug-in that is able to do this? My second question: is this possible using a single table. I've heard that in order to do this you need to use multiple synchronized tables that look like a single one from the user's perspective. Any ideea/advice would be welcomed. Thank you.

  • iPhone grouped table view cell reuse

    - by William Jockusch
My iPhone programs frequently contain grouped table views. A typical use might be for settings. The number of rows in these table views can run anywhere from roughly 2 to 20. The cells typically don't have a lot of uniformity. Should I be trying to reuse the cells? If so, how much commonality do cells need to have to get a shared identifier? For example, consider two cells with the same size, but one contains a slider and the other contains a label. Or is this just not worth the bother? Thanks

  • Hibernate -using Table per subclass - how to link an existing superclass object to a sibclass object

    - by Chandni
Hi, I have a User hibernate class, Clerk class and Consumer class. All these maps to their own tables in database. The User PK also acts as Clerk's and Consumer's PK. So now my problem is that if a user is initially a Clerk, he has a record in Users table and Clerks table. If that user wants to become a consumer, I want to link that User's record to the new Consumer's record. So even if I pass the userId to the consumer's record, it treats it as a new User to be persisted and gives a duplicate_key exception. How do I tell Hiernate to link the same user object with this new Consumer object. Thanks in advance, -Chandni

  • Suggestion for R/LaTeX table creation package

    - by aL3xa
I've been using xtable package for a long time, and looking forward to writting my first package in R... so I reckon that if I have some "cool" idea that's worth carying out, there's a great chance that somebody got there before me... =) I'm interested in functions/packages specialized for LaTeX table creation (through R, of course). I bumped on quantreg package which has latex.table function. Any suggestion for similar function(s)/package(s)? P.S. I'm thinking about building a webapp in which users can define their own presets/templates of tables, choose style, statistics, etc. It's an early thought, though... =)

  • Problems with row height in table with expand /collapse in IE

    - by Cagey
I have ten rows in my table. All the even rows are hidden by default. The odd rows have a 'plus' icon in the first cell. The plus to be clicked to see the next even row in the table. Clicking the icon again will hide the row again. I do this with simple jquery hide and show methods. The problem with this in IE is whenever I expand and a row and then close it, the border of the row which was expanded stays in the page itself and does not clear. This makes the pages look awkward in IE. I don't face this issue in FF. My friend here suspects this has something to do with the cell height. Im not sure if that is so. So please help me fix this. Thanks, Cagey.

  • how best to set text alignment in a table

    - by ericslaw
Does anyone know of a jquery plugin or snippet that will auto-text-align cells in a table based on content? Specifically, all table cells would be right justified unless there is a visible non-number related character in the cell, then it would be left justified. I'd like to use something like this regular expression to identify non-number related characters in a cell: /[^0-9% +-()]/ Is there a real simple way to accomplish this? I would think something like this: $("td:contains('[^0-9% +-()]')").addClass("left"); would do the trick, but I don't think 'contains' can take a regular expression.
