  • TwitPic Multiple image upload

    - by Tim Karen
Has anybody experienced Timeout error with TwitPic API using ASIFormDataRequest when uploading multiple images? Status updates without images are fine. I was trying to upload the exact same 2 images. The first request went through fine, but the second one was timeout. It also happens when multiple images are uploaded, some went through, but some didn't. It's happening randomly and I have no idea how to debug it anymore.

  • Wordpress 403/404 Errors: You don't have permission to access /wp-admin/themes.php on this server

    - by Glen
Some background: I setup six blogs this week, all using Wordpress 2.92, installed with Fantastico on a baby croc plan with Hostgator. I used the same theme (heatmap 2.5.4) and plugins for each blog. They were all up and running, no issues at all. I go to create a new blog this morning, using the same setup, and when I try to change the theme settings, I get the following error: Forbidden You don't have permission to access /wp-admin/themes.php on this server. Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request. Apache/2.2.15 (Unix) mod_ssl/2.2.15 OpenSSL/0.9.8n DAV/2 mod_fcgid/2.3.5 mod_auth_passthrough/2.1 mod_bwlimited/1.4 FrontPage/5.0.2.2635 Server at http://www.mydomain.com Port 80 I tried uninstalling WP and doing a clean install, still the same issue with a clean installation. So I went back and checked the six other blogs that I had setup over the last week or so, and they are also now giving me 403 or 404 errors when trying to change theme settings, and everytime there's an error it points to either themes.php or functions.php At this point I'm at my wits end trying to figure out what the problem is. Hostgator support looked at it and thought maybe it was a permissions issue but they reset those and I'm still having the problem. At first I thought the problem might have been related to a plugin I recently installed on the previous six blogs that morning (ByREV Fix Missed Shedule Plugin) to deal with a missed schedule bug with WP 2.92, and that maybe that had mucked things up. But then I checked a blog I built months ago, also using the same theme and plugins, and now it too is also encountering the same problem. Any ideas? I tried deleting my htaccess, uploading a blank one, uploading one with this snippet I found on the hostgator forum: # BEGIN WordPress <IfModule mod_rewrite.c> RewriteEngine On RewriteBase / RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d RewriteRule . /index.php [L] </IfModule> # END WordPress Nothing has worked. I still get 403 or 404 errors everytime. Everything was working perfectly yesterday so I know this setup DOES WORK, I've just mucked something up somewhere and I'm clueless what it is. I read a related thread here and tried chmoding the wp-content folder to 0755 and still having the issue. Any thoughts? Thanks!

  • Image upload and jCrop and codeigniter

    - by sea_1987
Hi There, I am trying to build a system that allows a user to select an image from their own computer, and crop it using the jCrop tool from jQuery. My question is can I show the image the user has selected from their system without uploading it to a system, I dont really want to do two uploads, unless I can do the first upload silently? Any help would be great. Thank you.

  • Firefox crashes with mulitple Uploadify JQuery browse buttons and ajax

    - by droidy
Hi, I'm using four JQuery Uploadify browse buttons on a page that's calling the Uploadify code/buttons through Ajax. We have a javascript function called from onComplete which refreshes the Ajax page. The problem we're encountering is that when you start uploading one file, if you click browse to upload another file, Firefox will crash when selecting the second file. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

  • Programmatically convert a video to FLV

    - by Raibaz
i am currently working on a web application that needs to accept video uploaded by users in any format (.avi, .mov, etc.) and convert them to flv for playing in a flash-based player. Since the site is OpenCms-based, the best solution would be a ready-made plugin for OpenCms that allowed to upload and play videos doing the transcode operation in background, but just a set of Java classes to do the transcode would be great and then i could make the uploading form and playback part on my own.

  • Accurately display upload progress in Silverilght upload

    - by Matt
    I'm trying to debug a file upload / download issue I'm having. I've got a Silverlight file uploader, and to transmit the files I make use of the HttpWebRequest class. So I create a connection to my file upload handler on the server and begin transmitting. While a file uploads I keep track of total bytes written to the RequestStream so I can figure out a percentage. Now working at home I've got a rather slow connection, and I think Silverlight, or the browser, is lying to me. It seems that my upload progress logic is inaccurate. When I do multiple file uploads (24 images of 3-6mb big in my testing), the logic reports the files finish uploading but I believe that it only reflects the progress of written bytes to the RequestStream, not the actual amount of bytes uploaded. What is the most accurate way to measure upload progress. Here's the logic I'm using. public void Upload() { if( _TargetFile != null ) { Status = FileUploadStatus.Uploading; Abort = false; long diff = _TargetFile.Length - BytesUploaded; UriBuilder ub = new UriBuilder( App.siteUrl + "upload.ashx" ); bool complete = diff <= ChunkSize; ub.Query = string.Format( "{3}name={0}&StartByte={1}&Complete={2}", fileName, BytesUploaded, complete, string.IsNullOrEmpty( ub.Query ) ? "" : ub.Query.Remove( 0, 1 ) + "&" ); HttpWebRequest webrequest = ( HttpWebRequest ) WebRequest.Create( ub.Uri ); webrequest.Method = "POST"; webrequest.BeginGetRequestStream( WriteCallback, webrequest ); } } private void WriteCallback( IAsyncResult asynchronousResult ) { HttpWebRequest webrequest = ( HttpWebRequest ) asynchronousResult.AsyncState; // End the operation. Stream requestStream = webrequest.EndGetRequestStream( asynchronousResult ); byte[] buffer = new Byte[ 4096 ]; int bytesRead = 0; int tempTotal = 0; Stream fileStream = _TargetFile.OpenRead(); fileStream.Position = BytesUploaded; while( ( bytesRead = fileStream.Read( buffer, 0, buffer.Length ) ) != 0 && tempTotal + bytesRead < ChunkSize && !Abort ) { requestStream.Write( buffer, 0, bytesRead ); requestStream.Flush(); BytesUploaded += bytesRead; tempTotal += bytesRead; int percent = ( int ) ( ( BytesUploaded / ( double ) _TargetFile.Length ) * 100 ); UploadPercent = percent; if( UploadProgressChanged != null ) { UploadProgressChangedEventArgs args = new UploadProgressChangedEventArgs( percent, bytesRead, BytesUploaded, _TargetFile.Length, _TargetFile.Name ); SmartDispatcher.BeginInvoke( () => UploadProgressChanged( this, args ) ); } } //} // only close the stream if it came from the file, don't close resizestream so we don't have to resize it over again. fileStream.Close(); requestStream.Close(); webrequest.BeginGetResponse( ReadCallback, webrequest ); }

  • Drag and Drop file upload in Silverlight 4?

    - by Parvenu74
I'm working on re-writing a WinForms application into Silverlight. One use case in the WinForms app allows users to drag TIFF images (of faxes) from Outlook directly onto an "attach an image or fax to this case" control in the WinForms app. Is there a Silverlight 4 control which allows for the same functionality? It's important to realize that saving the file to the local filesystem and then selecting and uploading the file with a standard upload control will not meet the business requirements as outlined in the project.

  • Java Proxy Servlet for submitting files

    - by KevMo
I'm attempting to use Panda with my GWT application. I can upload videos directly to my panda server using POST MY_PANDA_SERVER/videos/MY_VIDEO_ID/upload However I would like hide my panda server behind my J2EE (glassfish) server. I would like to achieve this: Start upload to some servlet on my J2EE server Authenticate user POST the file to my panda server while still uploading to servlet Ideally I would like to never store the file on the J2EE server, but just use it as a proxy to get to the panda server.

  • Good Secure Backups Developers at Home

    - by slashmais
What is a good, secure, method to do backups, for programmers who do research & development at home and cannot afford to lose any work? Conditions: The backups must ALWAYS be within reasonably easy reach. Internet connection cannot be guaranteed to be always available. The solution must be either FREE or priced within reason, and subject to 2 above. Status Report This is for now only considering free options. The following open-source projects are suggested in the answers (here & elsewhere): BackupPC is a high-performance, enterprise-grade system for backing up Linux, WinXX and MacOSX PCs and laptops to a server's disk. Storebackup is a backup utility that stores files on other disks. mybackware: These scripts were developed to create SQL dump files for basic disaster recovery of small MySQL installations. Bacula is [...] to manage backup, recovery, and verification of computer data across a network of computers of different kinds. In technical terms, it is a network based backup program. AutoDL 2 and Sec-Bk: AutoDL 2 is a scalable transport independant automated file transfer system. It is suitable for uploading files from a staging server to every server on a production server farm [...] Sec-Bk is a set of simple utilities to securely back up files to a remote location, even a public storage location. rsnapshot is a filesystem snapshot utility for making backups of local and remote systems. rbme: Using rsync for backups [...] you get perpetual incremental backups that appear as full backups (for each day) and thus allow easy restore or further copying to tape etc. Duplicity backs directories by producing encrypted tar-format volumes and uploading them to a remote or local file server. [...] uses librsync, [for] incremental archives Other Possibilities: Using a Distributed Version Control System (DVCS) such as Git(/Easy Git), Bazaar, Mercurial answers the need to have the backup available locally. Use free online storage space as a remote backup, e.g.: compress your work/backup directory and mail it to your gmail account. Strategies See crazyscot's answer

  • Silverlight changes the io.Stream to byte[]

    - by Sai
I have created a WCF service for uploading images , which accepts System.IO.Stream as input parameter and am using streaming. When I added the service reference in Silverlight project then it automatically changed the parameter of my WCF method from System.IO.Stream to byte[]. Can anyone suggest if there is a way around this so that I can get System.IO.Stream type rather than byte[]. Thanks in advance

  • File upload progress

    - by Cornelius
I've been trying to track the progress of a file upload but keep on ending up at dead ends (uploading from a C# application not a webpage). I tried using the WebClient as such: class Program { static volatile bool busy = true; static void Main(string[] args) { WebClient client = new WebClient(); // Add some custom header information client.Credentials = new NetworkCredential("username", "password"); client.UploadProgressChanged += client_UploadProgressChanged; client.UploadFileCompleted += client_UploadFileCompleted; client.UploadFileAsync(new Uri("http://uploaduri/"), "filename"); while (busy) { Thread.Sleep(100); } Console.WriteLine("Done: press enter to exit"); Console.ReadLine(); } static void client_UploadFileCompleted(object sender, UploadFileCompletedEventArgs e) { busy = false; } static void client_UploadProgressChanged(object sender, UploadProgressChangedEventArgs e) { Console.WriteLine("Completed {0} of {1} bytes", e.BytesSent, e.TotalBytesToSend); } } The file does upload and progress is printed out but the progress is much faster than the actual upload and when uploading a large file the progress will reach the maximum within a few seconds but the actual upload takes a few minutes (it is not just waiting on a response, all the data have not yet arrived at the server). So I tried using HttpWebRequest to stream the data instead (I know this is not the exact equivalent of a file upload as it does not produce multipart/form-data content but it does serve to illustrate my problem). I set AllowWriteStreamBuffering to false and set the ContentLength as suggested by this question/answer: class Program { static void Main(string[] args) { FileInfo fileInfo = new FileInfo(args[0]); HttpWebRequest client = (HttpWebRequest)WebRequest.Create(new Uri("http://uploadUri/")); // Add some custom header info client.Credentials = new NetworkCredential("username", "password"); client.AllowWriteStreamBuffering = false; client.ContentLength = fileInfo.Length; client.Method = "POST"; long fileSize = fileInfo.Length; using (FileStream stream = fileInfo.OpenRead()) { using (Stream uploadStream = client.GetRequestStream()) { long totalWritten = 0; byte[] buffer = new byte[3000]; int bytesRead = 0; while ((bytesRead = stream.Read(buffer, 0, buffer.Length)) > 0) { uploadStream.Write(buffer, 0, bytesRead); uploadStream.Flush(); Console.WriteLine("{0} of {1} written", totalWritten += bytesRead, fileSize); } } } Console.WriteLine("Done: press enter to exit"); Console.ReadLine(); } } The request does not start until the entire file have been written to the stream and already shows full progress at the time it starts (I'm using fiddler to verify this). I also tried setting SendChunked to true (with and without setting the ContentLength as well). It seems like the data still gets cached before being sent over the network. Is there something wrong with one of these approaches or is there perhaps another way I can track the progress of file uploads from a windows application?

  • Incremental Backups / Versioned backups using PHP

    - by Adam
I'm trying to backup a folder containing several folders and files to a remote location (will be uploading zipped files). Is there any existing scripts that may help me, which checks if the files have been modified after the date of the last backup, and only backs up files created / modified after that? The current size of the data is around 1gb, and I expect adding 50mb-200mb each month Also, what would be the best way to extract the state of the files on a specific date?
