  • Norton Ghost EBAB03F1: The specified network name is no longer available.

    After about 15 minutes, a Norton Ghost 14 backup fails with Error EBAB03F1: The specified network name is no longer available. The source computer is a P4 laptop running Windows XP SP3. The target computer is a Core2 Quad desktop running Windows Vista Ultimate 64bit. It does not help to disable Norton 360 on the source computer or Norton Antivirus 2008 on the target computer. The Event Viewer consistently shows the same two VSS-related errors after Norton Ghost starts but before it fails. It makes no difference if the VSS service is started or stopped. The VSS errors do not appear elsewhere in the event log, only after Ghost starts. The MSS event messages, however, are quite common, appearing throughout the log, and they may have nothing to do with the problem.   • Compiling realtime kernel from RHEL 6 MRG sources on CentOS 6

    I'm trying to compile kernel-rt-2.6.33.9-rt31.75.el6rt.src.rpm from RHEL6 MRG source RPMs on Centos 6 x86_64 system. It's first time I'm doing this, so I did research on how to do this properly. From what I found, I did: rpm -ihv kernel-rt-2.6.33.9-rt31.75.el6rt.src.rpm cd ~/rpmbuild/SPECS nano kernel-rt.spec rpmbuild -bb kernel-rt.spec 2> build-err.log | tee build-out.log in kernel-rt.spec I've disbleed compilation of variants I don' need - ie compile only rt and firmware. Also defined not to build debuginfo. After compilation finished, I've got in ~/rpmbuild/RPMS/x86_64/ two files: kernel-rt-2.6.33.9-rt31.75.el6rt.x86_64.rpm kernel-rt-devel-2.6.33.9-rt31.75.el6rt.x86_64.rpm but when I tried to install kernel, I got error message: $ sudo rpm -ihv kernel-rt-2.6.33.9-rt31.75.el6rt.x86_64.rpm error: Failed dependencies: kernel-rt-firmware = 2.6.33.9-rt31.75.el6rt is needed by kernel-rt-2.6.33.9-rt31.75.el6rt.x86_64 There was no folder ~/rpmbuild/RPMS/noarch - where I would expect it to show up. Also, I've tried rpmbuild --rebuild kernel-rt-2.6.33.9-rt31.75.el6rt.src.rpm, but got same results... What am I doing wrong? I've seen this question, but it suggests what I tried already and I want to build kernel myself, not use pre-built from SLC.

    I'm trying to setup email notifications for my continuous integration server. I have a script which uses nail to send the email when the build works: #!/bin/bash echo "Build Worked!" | nail -A myisp -s 'Build Success' [email protected] When I run this from the command line with sh build-worked, it works and I receive the email. I know that you can target a single application, but only one that is already running. I want to detect all readfile-events an application is trying to do, ever since it is started. I don't want to miss out on any event. How do you achieve this?

    Hi, I am looking for a way to exclude specific file types from being logged in the security audits. I have a folder being audited for deletion events and the majority of logged events are .tmp files (such as a temp Word file that is automatically deleted when the app is closed) which I do not care about. Would anyone know of a way to exclude these types of files from being logged? Thanks in advance for any comments.

    Hello, I have a list of date/timestamps, and I would like to plot these to a chart in Excel. What I'm looking for is a chart that shows "events per hour" or something similar. Can this be done easily if I just have one column of data (the list of timestamps)? I'm using excel 2007 and looking at two data sets. One is 56k events and the other 750, both over the span of a few days.

I have tried setting heap to 1024m, 512m and setting the stack to 64k and 128k (and each of these combinations) with no luck. My open files was originally 256 and I have bumped this to 1024. I have been googling around for a bit and all posts say to decrease heap size and increase stack size but that doesnt seem to help. Anyone have anymore ideas?     I have 2 graphics cards, the output from the lspci: 01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: ATI Technologies Inc RV770 [Radeon HD 4850] 02:00.0 VGA compatible controller: ATI Technologies Inc RV710 [Radeon HD 4350] I have one monitor connected to the 4850 and 2 connected to the 4350. However when I go into System Preferences Monitors the only monitor shown is the one connected to the 4850. Is there something I need to enable for it to be able to use the other card? How do I get this to work. Thanks.     I tested jenkins-ci successfully on a ubuntu 10.4 (with vmware fusion) on my local computer. Now I want to install and use it on my virtual server at hosteurope. The basic installation was no problem, but now I have problems with my build project. After pulling an mercurial update from a repository, ant is invoked and throws the following error in my build project: "Buildfile: /var/lib/jenkins/workspace/concrete5-seed-clean/build.xml [property] java.io.IOException: Cannot run program "/usr/bin/env": java.io.IOException: error=12, Cannot allocate memory" There is a known problem with heap size at virtual servers at hosteurope (http://faq.hosteurope.de/index.php?cpid=13918), so I tried to set the heap size manually: # for ant export ANT_OPTS="-Xms512m -Xmx512m" # jenkins # edited /etc/default/jenkins, added line JAVA_ARGS="-Xms512m -Xmx512m" # restarted jenkins via /etc/init.d/jenkins restart After setting this for ant, the command "ant -diagnostics" runs through and does not cause an error, but the error still occurs when I try to build the project. Server-Details: - http://www.hosteurope.de/produkt/Virtual-Server-Linux-L Ubuntu 10.4 LTS RAM: 1GB / Dynamic 2GB My questions: - Is 1GB enough for Jenkins or do I have to upgrade the server? - Is this error caused by ant or jenkins?     I am trying to build ntgs from the latest source, using the .spec from rpmforge - as non-root via rpmbuild. During the compile, it fails at this step: checking for GNUTLS... no configure: error: ntfsprogs crypto code requires the gnutls library. error: Bad exit status from /var/tmp/rpm-tmp.78913 (%build) However, I can compile it successfully outside of rpmbuild. So it sounds like it just the matter of library being seen during the build.   • Running Flash on a headless Solaris box

    Our build server is a Solaris box, and I'm trying to run a suite of FlexUnit tests as part of the automated build process. This works by compiling a swf movie with a suite of automated unit tests. The build script launches this movie, which automatically begins running the tests. Results of each test are sent back to the launching script across a port, and written out to a local xml file. Once the tests are completed, the movie closes down, and the build script interrogates the results to see if all the tests passed. The FlexUnit wiki provides information about how to to acheive this on a Unix server, by using Xvnc to provide a virtual space for the flash movie to run its tests in. I've provided this information through to our sys admin team, (along with the link to the article), and I've been told that because this is a Solaris box, we can't use that approach - Xvnc isn't supported on Solaris. Unfortunately, I know very little about servers, *nix vs Solaris, or Xvnc. Can someone please provide some advice about how we can achieve the same outcome on a Solaris box?

Or maybe some feature to allow easy shell access (commands, env/vars, readline, etc...) from within python (the idea is to use python's interactive interpreter as a replacement to bash). EDIT: Maybe a comparative example would clarify. Let's say I have a list composed of dir/file: $ FILES=( build/project.rpm build/project.src.rpm ) And I want to do a really simple task: copy all files to dist/ AND install it in the system (it's part of a build process): Using bash: $ cp ${files[*]} dist/ $ cd dist && rpm -Uvh $(for f in ${files[*]}; do basename $f; done)) Using a "pythonic shell" approach (caution: this is imaginary code): $ cp [ os.path.join('dist', os.path.basename(file)) for file in FILES ] 'dist' Can you see the difference ? THAT is what i'm talking about. How can not exits a shell with these kind of stuff build-in yet? It's a real pain to handle lists in shell, even its being a so common task: list of files, list of PIDs, list of everything. And a really, really, important point: using syntax/tools/features everybody already knows: sh and python. IPython seams to be on a good direction, but it's bloated: if var name starts with '$', it does this, if '$$' it does that. It's syntax is not "natural", so many rules and "workarounds" ([ ln.upper() for ln in !ls ] -- syntax error)

    Hello Guys, I am desperately looking for a solution that enables me to read keyboard events in a non blocking way. These Keyboard events are generated by a VIRTUAL KEYBOARD that comes with the WinCE device. I have a console application running in C++, where the user is asked to navigate via 'ESC', 'U' and other characters through the menu. I first tried to use fread and stdin and realised that it is blocking call and waits for a carriage return. Then I tried to hook up to the windows message WM_KEYUP, but I never recieve this windows message. Furthermore I tried to use QtGUI together with the event QKeyEvent, but I never recieve any event. I wonder if it is in general possible to recieve non-blocking keyboard events on a WinCE device. I would be glad if you have any suggestions! Cheers, Jan

But UIView is a subclass of UIResponder. And the UIResponder class reference says this: - (BOOL)canBecomeFirstResponder Return Value YES if the receiver can become the first responder, NO otherwise. Discussion Returns NO by default. If a responder object returns YES from this method, it becomes the first responder and can receive touch events and action messages. Subclasses must override this method to be able to become first responder. I am confused by the apparent contradiction. Can anyone clear it up for me? For what it's worth, I did set up a simple view-based application, and call canBecomeFirstResponder and isFirstResponder on its view. Both returned NO.

    Hello Currently I have an entity named "Events" in a CoreData app. "Events" has one string property named "eventName". In the -(void)viewDidLoad I am trying to Fetch all the "Events" objects and load their "eventName" by alphabetical order into a UIPickerView. The ultimate end goal is through the use of a textField, buttons and the pickerView being add new objects in and remove unwanted objects out. Basically turning the UIPickerView into a UITableView. Currently I am able to save objects to the CoreData store, but am not able to pull them/their properties out into the UIPickerView.
