  • General logging won't work in MySQL

    I saw on SF that there's an option in MySQL to log all queries. So, in my version (mysql-server-5.0.45-7.el5 on CentOS 5.2) this appears to be a case of enabling the 'log' option, so I edited /etc/my.cnf to add this: [mysqld] datadir=/var/lib/mysql socket=/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock user=mysql old_passwords= log=/var/log/mysql-general.log [mysqld_safe] log-error=/var/log/mysqld.log pid-file=/var/run/mysqld/mysqld.pid I then created the file and set permissions: # touch /var/log/mysql-general.log # chown mysql. /var/log/mysql-general.log # ls -l /var/log/mysql-general.log -rw-r--r-- 1 mysql mysql 0 Jan 18 15:22 /var/log/mysql-general.log But when I start mysqld I get: 120118 15:24:18 mysqld started ^G/usr/libexec/mysqld: File '/var/log/mysql-general.log' not found (Errcode: 13) 120118 15:24:18 [ERROR] Could not use /var/log/mysql-general.log for logging (error 13).   • NSURL doesn't work any time

    Hello community, i have the following problem sometimes my openURL-Dialog works perfectly, then i looked at the variable from the url and that is the variable: www.brehm-gmbh.de but some other times there are some crazy elements at the end of the variable like this: www.adamczyk-fenster.de%E2%80%8E i get this pages from an .asc file and both are in this file normal without this elements, what can i do to solve this problem? thank you all for helping beforehand

  • Apache mod_auth_kerb asking 2 authentication

    I've configured Apache to use mod_auth_kerberos. So far everything is working nicely for client thats connected to Active Directory and have their browser to ntlm enabled. When clients are not in the domain or the browser configurerd not to authenticate automatically, they are being prompted by 2 login prompt. Once the first login form submited, it will ask for the 2nd login prompt.     Hi, I need to copy my numbers from my private Nokia to my office BB. I have not found a way to export my phone numbers from ovi or elsewhere. On Mac iSync stopped working with snow leopard and OVI on windows does not export. I do not mind using a windows suggestion. I lost a description on how to use the ovi backup files in another program. What I have done so far terminal: sudo open -a iSync.app - it launched but iSync said "this device is not supported by iSync" went here http://europe.nokia.com/support/product-support/isync/compatibility-and-download found a plugin (I am sure that was not there a while ago :| ) Checked software version 22.0.110 installed plugin Ran iSync which found and installed my N97 device successfully. synced. Tried to download and install http://best-vcard.en.softonic.com/symbian but the installer fails :( I simply do not understand why Nokia is giving us such a hard time. I would not have considered switching from Nokia if Mac had been better supported. It is so frustrating that they just seem not to care losing Nokia fanbois like me - especially since I am this outspoken on the net and what i say on popular forums gets indexed by google fast. I am very close to just go iPhone here. Hope someone has Nokia's ears UPDATE: I Downloaded NbuExplorer from sourceforge. It will extract everything from an OVI backup into VCF, VCS and VMG files. Very useful software and free.

  • Cannot Kill Process in Vista 64

    Hi I have a weird situation where a Zombie process is causing my Vista64 Dev machine to become useless. I use Incredibuild 3.40 to distribute builds of a large software product that I work on. Occasionally, a build will fail and a Zombie process is left behind. The process holds a handle to a file that is needed by the build system to retry the build. Since I cannot kill the process, the handle remains open and I cannot build my code at all. I've tried TargetManager and ProcessExplorer, but neither can kill this process. It gets worse; since Vista cannot kill all its processes, my PC refuses to shut down correctly, requiring a hard reboot after each failed build. Is there a way to really-really-kill a process in Vista? Or maybe a way to force a file handle to close? Any help is appreciated. Cheers Jan. EDIT: This is still occurring. I've used Lockhunter (which appears to successfully unlock the file handle), but retrying the build still fails because the (now unlocked) file cannot be deleted. Explorer and Lockhunter both fail to delete the file. LockHunter also tells me that there are no processes that hold handles to it. Basically, nothing owns it, but you still cant delete it. This sucks.

    Hello, I have a FastCGI (mod_fastcgi)problem. It happens every once in a while, and does not casue a complete server meltdown, just 500 errors. Here are a couple things. First I am using APC so PHP is in control of it's own processes, not FastCGI. Next step i click the hyperlink that takes me back to the form. Now my question is how exactly do i make it possible when filling in the same form again so both results are displayed in the same table?   • Linux: prevent VNC from swapping like mad

    I'm accessing a MacMini (with MacOS X 10.4) from my Linux machine using VNC and there's an issue that is driving me crazy... My Linux machine has 4 GB of ram and I run a lot of various apps on it and I've got no issue at all. It's all snappy and don't hear the hard disk swapping/read/writing too often. Now with VNC, the hard disk is swapping like mad... When I'm moving things on the OS X desktop. So I was thinking of creating a ramdisk and forcing the temp VNC files to go into that ramdisk but the problem is I can't find any temp files. I've attempted to do that: #!/bin/bash while [ true ] do lsof | grep vnc done And eyeball parse the output to try to find some temp file: no luck. The VNC version I'm using is this one: $ vncviewer -version VNC Viewer Free Edition 4.1.1 for X - built Jan 30 2009 19:33:16 Copyright (C) 2002-2005 RealVNC Ltd. No matter how much data is coming from the Mac, there should be plenty of memory (4 GB of ram) so there's really no reason to swap like crazy. This is driving me mad. Any help as to how I could solve this problem is most welcome because this is literally driving me nuts.

  • SocketChannel in Java sends data, but it doesn't get to destination application

    Hi Everybody, I'm suffering a lot to create a simple ChatServer in Java, using the NIO libraries. Wonder if someone could help me. I am doing that by using SocketChannel and Selector to handle multiple clients in a single thread. The problem is: I am able to accept new connections and get it's data, but when I try to send data back, the SocketChannel simply doesn't work. In the method write(), it returns a integer that is the same size of the data i'm passing to it, but the client never receives that data. Strangely, when I close the server application, the client receives the data. It's like the socketchannel maintains a buffer, and it only get flushed when I close the application. Here are some more details, to give you more information to help. So, a client makes a TCP connection to the server, and once it gets accepted, it sends data to the server following a simply text protocol, informing his id and asking to get registrated to the server. I handle this in the method processIncomingDataFromNewClient(key). I'm also keeping a map of clients and its connections in a data structure similar to a hashtable. I? doing that because I need to recover a client Id from a connection and a connection from a client Id. This is can be shown in: clientsMap.getClient(key). But the problem itself resides in the method processIncomingDataFromNewClient(key). There, I simply read the data that the client sent to me, validate it, and if it's ok, I send a message back to the client to tell that it is connected to the chat server. So, the data never gets to it. When I close the server application, though, all the data appears in the client. I wonder why. It is important to say that the client is in C and the server JAVA, and I'm running both in the same machine, an Ubuntu Guest in virtualbox under windows. I also run both under windows host and under linuxes hosts, and keep getting the same strange problem. I'm sorry for the great lenght of this question, but I already searched a lot of places for an answer, found a lot of tutorials and questions, including here at StackOverflow, but coundn't find a reasonable explanation. I am really not liking this Java NIO, and i saw a lot of people complaining about it too.
