• rails server stuck in close_wait and requires a re-start once in a while

  I have a rails webapp which internally connects to another request server. At times , ruby process gets stuck in close_wait state and stop responding and needs a restart. i guess this happens only when the request server which the rails app connects to is restarted. But am not completely sure of it. Any help appreciated on how should i go about debugging this issue. Thanks.

  I am looking for a system to parallelise a large suite of tests in a Ruby on Rails app (using rspec, cucumber) that works using JRuby. Cucumber is actually not too bad, but the full rSpec suite currently takes nearly 20 minutes to run. The systems I can find (hydra, parallel-test) look like they use forking, which isn't the ideal solution for the JRuby environment.

  Hi I am am running some selenium tests(ruby) on my web page and as i enter an invalid characters in to a text box i have the JavaScript throw a alert like so if(isNaN($(this).val()) || Number($(this).val().valueOf() <=0)){ alert("Please Enter A Number"); } how can i handle this alert when its made and close the pop up? i tried to use the wait_for_pop_up() and close() but i think that's only for browser pop up's and not JavaScript alerts. any ideas? thanks

  I am trying to use the Sunlight API gem with a Rails project. I have installed the gem and can successfully use it from irb. However, when I put the require statement (require 'sunlight') in sunlight.rb in config/initializers, I get the following error: /opt/local/lib/ruby/gems/1.8/gems/activesupport-3.0.0.beta3/lib/active_support/dependencies.rb:209:in `require': no such file to load -- sunlight (LoadError) I checked the permissions on the gems directory, and it is world readable/executable.   Hi! I have looked at several tutorials involving rails 3 and jquery. The tutorial at http://www.blog.bridgeutopiaweb.com/post/how-to-use-jquery-for-rails-3/ looked promising. However, I get the errors of document.on is not a function and $("a[data-remote=true]").livequery is not a function I get the feeling that I should look at another tutorial or just use jquery raw and not install a ruby gem for jquery.
