• Demographics and interests reports in Google universal analytics

  I have an issue with Google Analytics, can't seem to find a guide how to activate Demographics and Interests reports. Does anyone know how I can activate this on Universal Analytics? Is this even possible?

  Using the following html, css,jquery, js, what would be the best approach to achieving this. A visitor hits the website. The website page is displaying html and a css3 animation. The visitor is given the option to enter text freely into a text box, they enter an email address and hit send. The person receiving the message gets an email with a link, when they click the link it takes them to the webpage with the animation and the custom message their friend entered. Is this easy to achieve, what would be the best approach? anyone know of existing code I could use? Thanks

• Building a simple web app with database? [on hold]

  I'm building a simple airline reservation system (web app) for a class. I'm trying to find out where to start learning about implementing and integrating a sql database. User's should be able to search for available flights based on destination and departure cities and the like. A good example would be Google Flights. I'd like to access a data base with all of the flight information and display it within tables on the web page. Admins should be able to modify the databases as well. I've tried to learn about things like Node.js, PHP, and AJAX, but most of the tutorials that I've found have been difficult to understand. Any suggestions would be really appreciated, thanks!

  A friend of mine asked me for a easy website for him. As it was just 3 subpages, no database need or anything, I've done it quite fast with plain PHP, HTML, JS and CSS. But then another and another friend showed up. They only wanted arrange differently they navigation, some different picutures etc. So I though, is there any kind of CMS, that allows build small business website (barbershop, local groceries shop), with small list of subpages, yet allowing us to arrange look'n'feel. There's no need for the databas as content won't change, or can be stored in simple textfiles for example. Things like WordPress might be simple overkill Does anyone know such cms?

• Unable to install Xdebug

  I've registered xdebug in php.ini (as per http://xdebug.org/docs/install) but it's not showing up when i run "php -m" or when i get a test page to run "phpinfo()". I've just installed the latest version of XAMPP. Can anyone provide any suggestions in getting xdebug to show up? • Cold Start

  Well we had snow drifts 3ft deep on Saturday so it must be spring time.  In preparation for Spring we decided to move the lawn tractor.  Of course after sitting in the garage all winter it refused to start.  I then come into the office and need to start my 11g SOA Suite installation.  I thought about this and decided my tractor might be cranky but at least I can script the startup of my SOA Suite 11g installation. So with this in mind I created 6 scripts.  I created them for Linux but they should translate to Windows without too many problems.  This is left as an exercise to the reader, note you will have to hardcode more than I did in the Linux scripts and create separate script files for the sqlplus and WLST sections. Order to start things I believe there should be order in all things, especially starting the SOA Suite.  So here is my preferred order. Start Database This is need by EM and the rest of SOA Suite so best to start it before the Admin Server and managed servers. Start Node Manager on all machines This is needed if you want the scripts to work across machines. Start Admin Server Once this is done in theory you can manually stat the managed servers using WebLogic console.  But then you have to wait for console to be available.  Scripting it all is quicker and easier way of starting. Start Managed Servers & Clusters Best to start them one per physical machine at a time to avoid undue load on the machines.  Non-clustered install will have just soa_server1 and bam_serv1 by default.  Clusters will have at least SOA and BAM clusters that can be started as a group or individually.  I have provided scripts for standalone servers, but easy to change them to work with clusters.   For a couple of days now I have been playing around with the jqgrid.I have been trying to accomplish what is found on this example http://www.the-di-lab.com/demo/apples that is placing a date picker on the modal form. So far I have tried to follow what I found on this link but I get a target.getAttribute is not a function error in my ui.datepicker.js script. Anyone who has done it succesfully?

• Facebook Connect icon isn't showing up in Internet Explorer

  I'm working on a site that is using Facebook Connect and recently made some changes so that the main pages are cached and if you are not logged in (checked with an ajax call) it loads the Facebook Connect javascript and renders the connect button into the page. This works perfectly everywhere except Internet Explorer 7 and 8. The weird part is I render the buttons into a hidden Sign Up / Sign In form and when you show either of those the Connect buttons appear. You can take a look here and you will see the button in Firefox and not Internet Explorer. If you click Sign In the button will show up. • Dynamic Colorbox galleries using Ajax

  Hi, I am new to jQuery / AJAX. I have a page that uses colorbox to display photo galleries. The page displays only one image from each gallery. When clicked, a colorbox opens up with all of the photos from that gallery. These inner photo references (for all photos from all galleries) are hidden on the page in an invisible div. The page is a PHP generated page. The galleries/photos are being populated via Picasa. All of the above works fine, but instead of loading all of the images from all galleries on page load (via PHP), I'd like to load only the requested gallery into the colorbox via AJAX. So far, I have a test page which can insert the proper links into a div on the page, but the Colorbox won't pick up on these links. This is where I need help. How can I get Colorbox to recognize the links generated by my AJAX call?   I'm building a Route Planner Webapp using Spring/Hibernate/Tomcat and a mysql database, I have a database containing read only data, such as Bus Stop Coordinates, Bus times which is never updated. I'm trying to make the app run faster, each time the application is run it will preform approx 1000 reads to the database to calculate a route. I have setup a Ehcache which greatly improves the read from database times. I'm now setting terracotta + Ehcache distributed caching to share the cache with multiple Tomcat JVMs. This seems a bit complicated. I've tried memcached but it was not performing as fast as ehcache. I'm wondering if a MongoDb or Redis would be better suited. I have no experience with nosql but I would appreciate if anyone has any ideas. What i need is quick access to the read only database.

  Hiya, I currently use Cufon accross our site with something similar to Cufon.set('fontFamily', 'DIN Medium').replace('h1'); Now for a single H1 tag i would like Cufon to be disabled, this is without changing the H1 tag to any other tag, it must remain as it is. I can add classes etc to the H1 tag if required, and can do any HTML/CSS/JS just not changing the actual tag. Anyone know if this is possible and if it is how? Thanks in advance, Shadi
