  • Debug using MbUnit/Gallio 3.1

    When I use the [Debug] button in Gallio, the breakpoints in my unit tests are not hitting. The unit tests are written with MbUnit/Gallio. I am using MbUnit/Gallio version 3.1 build 397 with Visual Studio 2010 Beta 2. The unit tests run to completion in Gallio Icarus, but they run past the breakpoints. I see the symbol tables loading in VS, but it does not stop at the expected breakpoint, so I am unable to debug it.

  • ORDER BY job failed in the Pig script while running EmbeddedPig using Java

    I have this following pig script, which works perfectly using grunt shell (stored the results to HDFS without any issues); however, the last job (ORDER BY) failed if I ran the same script using Java EmbeddedPig. If I replace the ORDER BY job by others, such as GROUP or FOREACH GENERATE, the whole script then succeeded in Java EmbeddedPig. So I think it's the ORDER BY which causes the issue. Anyone has any experience with this? Any help would be appreciated!     When creating a web application that some how displays the display of a unique identifier for a recurring entity (videos on YouTube, or book section on a site like mine), would it be better to use a uniform length identifier like a hash or the unique key of the item in the database (1, 2, 3, etc). Besides revealing a little, what I think is immaterial, information about the internals of your app, why would using a hash be better than just using the unique id? In short: Which is better to use as a publicly displayed unique identifier - a hash value, or a unique key from the database? Edit: I'm opening up this question again because Dmitriy brought up the good point of not tying down the naming to db specific property. Will this sort of tie down prevent me from optimizing/normalizing the database in the future? The platform uses php/python with ISAM /w MySQL.

The issue I have if I go to delete a Database it wants to Delete the DatabaseUser also.. Is there a way to stop this from happening easily?

    We recently moved to a webfarm and setup dfs, only to find a beta application was creating files like there was no tomorrow. 1.2 million files were replicated across the farm, and since then we have prevented the application from creating new files, but every time we try to remove the files, it replaces them on each server because of replication. The process of replacing them actually causes to server to run slowly and in some cases stall. Is there any way we can stop replication at a folder level?

    Hello.. I am very new to Silverlight development. I understand that this is client side technology therefore the paradyme is differant from that of conventional ASP.NET development. Having said that, I don't understand where my server side code is deployed. I have a silver light \ MVC application. I am trying to read an XML document from within my 'Models' folder. The following peice of code is executed from within a class that is in the same location as the XML document, 'Models'. The load() results in a SystemIOFileNotFound exception. I noticed that when building the application the XML document is not laid down in the same location as the web project's assembly. I assume this is specific to the fact that this is a Silverlight project. When I try it on an LG renoir instead of the page fitting the width of the screen the page displays at least twice as wide as it should meaning you can scroll left and right.
