  • Maven plugin development [closed]

    Pre: I'm new with Maven. I used a lot of ant before. Qst: I decided to switch my project to maven since there are a lot of dependencies. But I have custom step in package phase (I'm BB dev - packing and signing) which is not available in maven yet. To process these tasks I have to download additional execs/jars. Is it common/have sense in Maven philosophy to load additional tools? Sure I could call ant from maven but it's not a question. Any helpful book about maven phases, philosophy and uses?

  • Passing data between android ListActivities in Java

    I am new to Android! I am having a problem getting this code to work... Basically I Go from one list activity to another and pass the text from a list item through the intent of the activity to the new list view, then retrieve that text in the new list activity and then preform a http request based on value of that list item.   • C# 4.0 RC, Silverlight 4.0 RC Covariance

    Hi, I am trying to develop a Silverlight 4 application using C# 4.0. I have a case like this: public class Foo<T> : IEnumerable<T> { .... } Elsewhere: public class MyBaseType : MyInterface { ... } And the usage where I am having problems: Foo<MyBaseType> aBunchOfStuff = new Foo<MyBaseType>(); Foo<MyInterface> moreGeneralStuff = myListOFStuff; Now I believe this was impossible in C# 3.0 because generic type were "Invariant". However I thought this was possible in C# 4.0 through the new covariance for generics technology? As I understand it, in C# 4.0 a lot of common interfaces (like IEnumerable) have been modified to support variance. In this case does my Foo class need to anything special in order to become covariant? And is covariance supported in Silverlight 4 (RC) ?

  • Referencing movie clips from within an actionscript class

    Hi all, I have been given the task of adding a scoring system to various flash games. This simply involves taking input, adding functionality such as pausing and replaying and then outputting the score, time left etc. at the end. I've so far successfully edited two games. Both these games used the "actions" code on frames. The latest game I'm trying to do uses an actionscript class which makes it both easier and harder. I'm not very adept at flash at all, but I've worked it out so far. I've added various movie clips that are to be used for displaying the pause screen background, buttons for replaying etc. I've been showing and hiding these using: back._visible = true; //movie clip, instance of back (back.png) I doubt it's best practice, but it's quick and has been working. However, now with the change of coding style to classes, this doesn't seem to work. I kinda understand why, but I'm now unsure how to hide/show these elements.   • Clickonce installation fails after addition of WCF service project

    So I have a winform solution, deployed via clickonce. Eveything worked fine until i added a WCF project. (see error in parsing the manifest file at end of post) Now I notice that MSBuild compiles the service into a _PublishedWebsites dir. I don't know what the need for this is, but I am suspecting this is the cause of the problem. This wcf project references some other projects within the solution. I am actually hosting the wcf service within the application so I don't really need MSBuild to do all this for me.     I use the tab key to indent my python code in Vim, but whenever I copy and paste a block Vim replaces every tab with 4 spaces, which raises an IndentationError I tried setting :set paste as suggested in related questions but it makes no difference Other sites suggest pasting 'tabless' code and using the visual editor to re-indent, but this is asking for trouble when it comes to large blocks Are there any settings I can apply to vim to maintain tabs on copy/paste?   • DB2 Driver Connection Hanging in Glassfish Connection Pool

    We have an intermittent issue around the DB2 used from a Glassfish connection pool. What happens is this: Under situations where the database (DB2 on ZOS) is under stress, our application (which is a multi-threaded application using connections to DB2 via a Glassfish connection pool) stops doing anything. The following are observed: 1) Looking at the server using JConsole, we can see a thread waiting indefinitely in the DB2 driver's getConnection() method. We can also see that it has gained a lock on a Vector within the driver. Several other threads are also calling the getConnection() method in the driver, and are hanging waiting for the lock on the Vector to be released. 2) Looking at the database itself, we can see that there are connections from the Glassfish server open and waiting to be used. It seems that there is some sort of mismatch between the connection pool on Glassfish and the connections actually open to DB2. Has anyone come across this issue before? Or something similar? If you need any more information that I haven't provided, then please let me know!

  • Visual Studio crashes when I add a .settings file in a C++ Windows form application

    I'm trying to add a .settings file in a windows form application by adding a (whatever) file in the project and have it named smthng.settings. Right after it is created, it crashes (if I look into the project's directory the file is there, but it's not "in" the project). Am I doing it wrong or could it be that the problem lies elsewhere? Edit: It seems that it's the settings designer that crashes. Partially Solved:If I add a (whatever).config file, then rename it to .settings and change it's file type to C/C++ Code (don't ask how I figured this out..) then I can add to it settings, but if I do add something that has any connection to the form then automatically a (whatever).config with thew same name spawns (which is identical to the (whatever).setting even if change one of them) and at the stdafx.cpp a #include '(whatever).h' appears, which is a problem, because there is not such a header. (if I erase it or just create a blank (whatever).h it doesn't work. Apparently I have to somehow connect all the data in the (w/e).settings to (w/e).h as well or maybe something else) Anyone had this problem before? Anyone has any ideas?

Anywho, a couple of my friends run a business and they asked me to build them a public website. It will only be used for information about the company with soe pictures. No transactions will be involved. Right now I work for a company where I build internal websites, and do alot of backend programming in C#. I understand html, css, jquery, etc. so I feel like I am completely capable of building a website for them. However, I do not know all the basic knowledge to building one. For example, where should we host the files, what type of security issues do I need to be aware of, what's the best software to use for developing websites (I use visual studio at work), where can I find some design techniques, etc. Any help is appreciated.

    Is there anyway to stop automatic DataContext inheritance in Silverlight? I Set my DataContext on my parent UserControl in code. As a result all the xaml bindings inside the UserControl try to bind to the new DataConext they get (through the automatic DataContext Inheritance). The DataContext's for the children elements (actually they are children of children of children) of the UserControl is something I need to set in the UserControl's code... I don't want them being all smart because they end up binding to the wrong data object! :-)

    My company has just migrated all the code for our website to 3 identical servers on an off-site location. Now it is our job to test them. However, the amount of websites/functionality that we have to test is exorbitant, and multiply that times 3! To check every single link and every single function is a daunting task. We are in the process of manually doing that right now. My question to you guys/girls is this...   • Guidance on E-commerce in a Python Framework

    I am looking for guidance in making decisions on using Python for E-commerce. My reasoning to use Python in the first place is i do a lot of 3D so it's a real help to use Python for web server side as well as 3D so I do not need to learn a new language. When I say E-commerce i mean the logic behind displaying products and a check out system that is Robust....and yes I really want to build this myself so I can change it. I do not want to use an out the box solution that costs a lot of money every month. I want control of server side, data bases, e-commerce etc. My questions are: What Frameworks are out there? I looked at previous questions on stackoverflow but only found old posts about Sachmo and Get paid. What is the learning path, I do not want to make a mistake that costs six months of studying? Python then Django? How long if I spent 10 hours a day studying this would it take to get up and running? I write javaScript badly, so I am not a complete noob, I understand the basics of programming languages. many thanks in advance

  • Restructured Text - adding title attributes to links

    Hi all, I am trying to use a jquery lightbox implementation on my website that is generated from Restructured Text. The lightbox takes the title of the link around the images as the caption of the image in the lightbox display. However, I can't seem to find a way in Restructured Text of providing a title attribute on a link - does anyone know of a way of doing so. My Images are defined like so: .. image:: image001.thumb.jpg :alt: Some alt text here :target: image001.jpg So I can add an alt attribute, but not a title. A possible alternative may be to use a target as the reference like so: .. image:: image001.thumb.jpg :alt: Some alt text here :target: image1_ .. _image1: image001.jpg In this latter case, I am not sure how to add attributes to the link defined at the bottom (if it is possible at all)

  • Using AuthzSVNAccessFile for controlling SVN Access produces HTTP 400 Bad Request

    I have a new repository on an existing subversion server that requires us to perform path based authorization within the repository. I found that the AuthzSVNAccessFile directive in apache is directly responsible for allowing this functionality. After fixing several other problems such as AuthzSVNAccessFile preventing SVNListParentPath from operating properly, I am left with one single problem. I can checkout, I can update, I can commit, BUT I cannot execute an SVN COPY for performing branch/tagging operations. The moment I comment out the AuthzSVNAccessFile line in the Apache config everything works as expected except the obvious path authorizations. Versions: The server OS is Debian 6.0.7 (Squeeze) Apache 2.2.16-6+squeeze11 Server Subversion 1.6.12dfsg-7 Clients are running windows Clients tried are: TortoiseSVN 1.8.2 Build 24708 64bit SVN CLI Client 1.8.3 (r1516576) Authentication is performed via AD to a Windows 2003 domain and appears to be operating normally. I have stripped out all other configurations and repository setups to produce this single configuration that reproduces the problem. Please note that, while yes this is a test repository on a test server, I am experiencing this same issue in this test setup where I have eliminated all other possible causes (mixed repository configurations, externals, etc). I have also confirmed that all files for the repository (/var/svn/authtestbasic) are owned by the Apache user www-data.

    While doing the installation, i keep getting a failure on the step "Creating Oozie database" java.lang.Exception: DB schema exists at org.apache.oozie.tools.OozieDBCLI.validateDBSchema(OozieDBCLI.java:877) at org.apache.oozie.tools.OozieDBCLI.createDB(OozieDBCLI.java:184) at org.apache.oozie.tools.OozieDBCLI.run(OozieDBCLI.java:127) at org.apache.oozie.tools.OozieDBCLI.main(OozieDBCLI.java:78) How do i fix this? Where do i get the password/username/dbname for the PostgreSQL database to drop the existing schema? I tried cat /etc/cloudera-scm-server/db*.properties | grep pass and /var/lib/cloudera-scm-server-db/data/generated-password.txt but the passwords don't work!

    So, for my clients to who have sites hosted on my server, I create user accounts, with standard home folders inside /home. I setup an SSH jail for all the collective users, because I really am against using a separate FTP server. Then, I installed ACL and added acl to my /etc/fstab — all good. I cd into /home and chmod 700 ./*. At this point users cannot see into other users home directories (yay), but apache can't see them either (boo) . I ran setfacl u:www-data:rx ./*. I also tried individual directories. Now apache can see the sites again, but so can all the users. ACL changed the permissions of the home folders to 750. How do I setup ACL's so that Apache can see the sites hosted in user's home folders AND 2. Users can't see outside their home and into others' files.
