• Can someone explain facelets ?

• Can I change the temp folder path?

  I have an asp.net app that uses System.IO.Path.GetTempFileName() for temporary files. In the production IIS environment (W2K3), the temp folder (System.IO.Path.GetTempPath()) points to C:\Windows\Temp. But on my XP dev machine it's C:\documents and settings\machinename\ASPNET\temp. Is it possible to change this folder without affecting other accounts on my machine?

• Cisco IOS router config -- how to disable SSH / SNMP on all but loopback address?

  Sorry for the naive question; a quick reading of the cisco docs doesn't answer this question... So I've got a router (say for the sake of argument a 4500 running IOS 15.x) It has interfaces in 3 different subnets -- 10.0.0.1/24, 10.0.1.1/24, and 10.0.2.1/24 It also has a loopback address of 172.16.0.33 How do I make it so that SSH / SNMP and other administrative traffic works on the 172 address but doesn't work on the IP addresses I wish to only use for L3 forwarding? Ideally this can be done by disabling the control plane access to these interfaces not just by using an ACL, but whatever, I don't actually care that much as long as it works... Thanks!

• SystemIO Exception when opening RFCOMM in Mono

  I have a Mono application which opens a RFCOMM connection (/dev/rfcomm0) but when I run as a user, I get a System.IO.IOException Interrupted system call. I'm running this on openSUSE 11.2. If I run the application under sudo, it works fine. I have added the dialup group to my user account so I'm not getting a permission denied error. I'm not sure if this is a Mono serial comms question or a permissions question for ServerFault.

• Shrink system volume, create new partition, & enlarge current partitions w/o losing data?

  My machine has a 300 GB hard drive. I'm planning to reinstall Windows 7 on this machine soon. It has three partitions: a System partition, and two equal data partitions for particular types of data (music, photos, docs, etc). These data partitions are too small for the data they hold, and the system partition is large enough to be shrunk. I want to create four partitions in preparation for the fresh reinstall, a System partition, and three data partitions of varying sizes (40, 50, & 60 GB respectively). My question: Can I shrink the System volume, create another partition, and make the existing two data partitions bigger without losing any data that is currently on the hard drive? Or is it better to format the whole thing, and create partitions after (thus removing the current OS) with a partitioning tool booting from CD? Can I reformat and create partitions with the Windows 7 set up DVD?

Which is not true, because I can add the key in pageant.exe, and I am not mistyping the passphrase... Anything else I can try to change or drop the passphrase?

  Seems like this should be easy, but I cannot figure out the syntax. In Apache, I want to use the value of an existing request header to set a new request header. Some simple non-working code that illustrates what I'd like to do: RequestHeader set X-Custom-Host-Header "%{HTTP_HOST}e" Ideally, this would make a new HTTP header in the request called "X-Custom-Host-Header" that contains the value of the existing Host header. But it does not. Perhaps I need to copy the existing header into an environment variable first? (If so, I can't figure out how to do that either.) I feel like I'm missing something obvious, but I've gone over the Apache docs and I can't figure it out. Thanks for any help.

  When I run my asp.net mvc 2 site (shared hosting) I get the following error: Method not found: 'Void System.Web.Mvc.DataAnnotationsModelValidatorProvider.set_AddImplicitRequiredAttributeForValueTypes(Boolean)'. In the bin directory I have System.Web.Mvc.dll version 2.0.50217.0 On my local dev machine it runs fine. Is it possible that if the hosting provider has a different mvc 2 version installed it would cause this error? Thank you!

• 1 iPhone, 2 (potentially 3) Macs......& Google Apps Sync?!

  Currently I use a beast of a G5 Mac at work for all my software/web development, an iMac G5 at home for personal use & a MacBook Pro for when i'm on the go. At work we make heavy use of all the Google Apps features such as calendar & docs etc. We all have an address book (local mac application) that gets synced with a list of contacts stored on our mail server. I want to be able to integrate the Google Apps calendar with my iPhone calendar (or even just iCal - which i can then sync to the iPhone). Essentially I want all three Macs to have the Google calendar synced to their version of iCal including the iPhone. I've heard that Google Sync handles something along these lines but i'm unsure if it's going to fulfill my needs? I'm trying my best to avoid having to use MobileMe.....   I'd like to export plotting symbols form R as a png graphic. But I haven't found a perfect way yet. Using png("symbol.png",width=20, height=20, bg="transparent") par(mar=c(0,0,0,0)) plot.new() symbols(1, 1, circles=0.3, bg=2, inches=FALSE, lwd=2, bty="n") dev.off() creates a little border around the symbol (I'd like it to be transparent) and the symbol isn't filling the whole space. Is there a more specific way of doing this ?

• Pull row of data from one place in spreadsheet to another

  I have a list of names and their assorted properties. I am trying to find a way to quickly move an entire row's worth of data into a different sheet so I can manipulate it. Currently I can accomplish this by copy and pasting the entire row, but this is not elegant nor dynamic (the number in blue does not update with this method): My ideal solution: A name is typed into the "Name" column. The spreadsheet program pulls the associated row from the "main" sheet into the new sheet. I am currently using Numbers.app, but am curious if this is possible in Excel, OpenOffice Calc, Google Docs, or any other spreadsheet program. Thank you.
