  • Any tips for how to build a LED sytem thet will light up to music?

    So basically I would like somehow that given an audio file as input (most likely mp3 or I can use some audio engine that will handle other types too) from my computer to control some LED lights so they will be something like an oscilloscope, like the one in winamp. What would I need to be able to do this? I'm interested in building thing up all by myself, coding, hardware, etc.. I'm going with C++ on Windows.

  • How can I link two Java serialised objects back together?

    Sometimes (quite a lot, actually) we get a situation in Java where two objects are pointing to the same thing. Now if we serialise these separately it is quite appropriate that the serialised forms have separate copies of the object as it should be possible to open one without the other. However if we now deserialise them both, we find that they are still separated. Is there any way to link them back together?   • What's the easiest and safest way to record data being inputted by a user on a web site

    Apologies, this is a tragically simple question that will bore most of you. I need to implement the simplest "leave your email and we'll contact you" web page. The simplest thing I could think of is doing an HTML form which calls a PHP script which appends the data in some file on the server. Easy to implement, but now I'm wondering if it's totally hackable. Is it? Are there obvious better ways that are still simple? thanks f

  • VS2010 has been released, so what do you hate or love about it?

    I recently installed the release version of Visual Studio 2010. So far I'm less than impressed with the rewrite and was wondering if I'm the only one. The thing I dislike the most is the inability to use the old-school MDI windows instead of the dreaded tabbed documents. For the other side the usage generator seems like it may prove useful in time. So what do you like or dislike about the changes to VS2010?

  • efficiently convert string (or tuple) to ctypes array

    I've got code that takes a PIL image and converts it to a ctypes array to pass out to a C function: w_px, h_px = img.size pixels = struct.unpack('%dI'%(w_px*h_px), img.convert('RGBA').tostring()) pixels_array = (ctypes.c_int * len(pixels))(*pixels) But I'm dealing with big images, and unpacking that many items into function arguments seems to be noticeably slow. What's the simplest thing I can do to get a reasonable speedup? I'm only converting to a tuple as an intermediate step, so if it's unnecessary, all the better.

In the end, I would like to have a nested-array containing each posts, with the next details: An array of the related comments Likes Views Obviously, I don't ask for any code, only a reference to the related API I will need to use.     We have following type of "Unique ID" column for many tables in the database (Oracle). It is a string with following format <randomnumber>-<ascendingnumber>-<machinename> So we have some thing like this U1234-12345-NBBJD U1234-12346-NBBJD U1234-12347-NBBJD U1234-12348-NBBJD U1234-12349-NBBJD The UID value is unique, we have unique index on them. Does the following format is more efficient than above for index scans? NBBJD-U1234-12345 NBBJD-U1234-12346 NBBJD-U1234-12347 NBBJD-U1234-12348 NBBJD-U1234-12349

  • Using routing (?) to make GET request in Rails so ID doesn't show

    I have a link in one view myapp/locations that goes to myapp/statistics?id=1 (statistics for location with ID 1) which works fine but it doesn't look pretty. I think I've seen people do this sort of thing without needing the ?id=1? I could use a POST but this is not RESTful. Is there a way I can use routing to allow the user to go to myapp/statistics?id=1 but have the user see myapp/statistics? Many thanks.

Let's say I have a function in a .cpp file void myFunction(int arg1, int arg2, int arg3){ //code } The function definition is defined in the .h file. So every time I change the function name or add a new argument to the function, I have to go back the the .h file to do the same. Is there a VIM plugin that can automate this task?

  • Change cursor style in firefox input file tag

    I have been trying to change the cursor style to look like a pointer rather than an I beam thing, but it looks like FF does not respect the cursor spec in an input file field. For example, I have made this small fiddle: http://jsfiddle.net/jDZtn/4/ where Id like the cursor to look like a pointer rather than an Ibeam when the user hovers over it. My end plan is to introduce opacity==0 and use a clickable button over it. I am not sure if this behaviour is a bug or not.

    Hai Friends I am having one dyanmic grid in that amount and date is not null column user should enter some thing in that spceified column.my issue is that if the save button is pressed the requried validator is firing for all the rows which is empty.it should only show if the user shows in the current row.if the user left the particular row is empty and presses the save button the error message should show in the current row not all the rows. how to do this.
