  • Heroku and Refinerycms: Application failed to start ~ attachment_fu problem

    Ok so I'm trying to get Refinerycms working with Heroku, and I'm new at all of this. I've set up an amazon s3 account and added keys and ids to the amazon_s3.yml files.   • Dynamic where clause using Linq to SQL in a join query in a MVC application

    Dear .Net Linq experts, I am looking for a way to query for products in a catalog using filters on properties which have been assigned to the product based on the category to which the product belongs. So I have the following entities involved: Products -Id -CategoryId Categories [Id] Properties [Id, CategoryId] PropertyValues [Id, PropertyId] ProductProperties [ProductId, PropertyValueId] When I ad a product to the catalog, multiple ProductProperties will be added based on the category and I would like to be able to filter all products from a category by selecting values for one or more properties. I will gather all filters, which I will hold in a list, by reading the URL. Now it is time to actually get the products based on multiple properties and I have been trying to find the right strategy but untill now it does not really work. Is there a way to make this work without writing SQL?   • Connecting to a SQL Server Compact Edition (.sdf) from an MFC application

    Hey ! I'm building an MFC app in Visual Studio 2008 which classifies textures and I need some sort of lightweight database to hold the characteristics (just some doubles and strings) which can be: -carried around with the app on different computers; -be able to perform queries on it from the app (searches , updates ,inserts ,etc); Currently I'm looking into SQL compact edition because it was very easy to create from Visual Studio ( I also need only one table) but I having a hard time connecting and updating the db from C++. This is what I've found on msdn regarding C++ and SQLCE: public: void createSqlCeConnection(){ SqlCeConnection* myConnection = new SqlCeConnection(); myConnection->ConnectionString = "DataSource = blabla.sdf"; MessageBox::Show(String::Format( S"Connection State: {0}", __box(myConnection->State))); } Unfortunately my experience with .net apps is pretty limited.     I want to make existing .NET applications (WinForms and WebForms) run on 64-bit machines, optimized to take advantage of more memory available on 64-bit machines. What do I need to do to the applications to take advantage of the memory? Do I just select the target CPU as 64-bit? What is the advantage of selecting the target versus just compiling the app for All CPUs and have the .NET optimize the app locally? Will Crystal Reports (in VS 2008) run optimized for 64-bit and take advantage of the upper memory?

    Hi, I am building REST API in php with memcache layer on top for caching all resources. After some reading experience it turns out it's best when documents are as simple as posible...mainly due to dropping cache sequences. So if there is 'building','room' entities for the 'room' document I would only place the id of the 'building' and not the whole data of it. Then on api client side I would merge data as needed. Problem becomes when I need to update/insert (most cases more than one table). I update one resource but on second update system fails or whatever and there becomes database inconsistancies. I see several solutions: 1. Implement rest transactions which I find wrong and complex as idea is to be stateless and easy. 2. On update/insert actions I pass more complex data (not single entities) so I can force transactions on API level. But this will make it weird that your GET document structure is same as PUT document structure. And again somehow make drop sequences complex. Any pointers are more than welcome. Cheers,

Users: Contains users and their details TrustAccount: A User can have multiple TrustAccounts. TrustAccountLog: Contains an audit of all TrustAccount "movements". A TrustAccount is associated with multiple TrustAccountLog entries. Now this query executes in milliseconds inside SQL Server Management Studio, but for some strange reason it takes forever in my C# app and even timesout (120s) sometimes. Here is the code in a nutshell.   • json problems with making a ruby on rails application

    So I'm using Bitnami to learn Ruby on Rails. I have also previously tried the manual installation for ruby and rails and was met by the same problem so I thought I should try first the easy package deal of Bitnami. Anyway my problem with json is that it causes the bundle install to fail. First the auto bundle install that rails new does fails because of an ssl error. Which is easily solved by changing the source in the gemfile which is https to http. However when I try to bundle install it does another error when it tries to install json.   • All Countries States Cities and Zipcodes in a Application

    Is there a way getting all countries, states,cities zipcodes/ in one single database. I have been looking all over. I discovered geonames.org, which has I guess all of the content. But there is no way to fetch that data directly. I am using rails. If there any helpers or Plugins, it'd be great. It would be awesome if there is a complete resource in any parsable format which I can use to get this database in place. Please recommend if you any thanks I do have the iso country code list but no States for some countries. Thanks in advance

How should I use it in a way that all activity gets recorder by TextWriterTraceListener to a text file. Is one static member which all threads use (by calling) TraceEvent-method safe. (I've kind of asked this question in http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1901086/how-to-instantiate-c-tracesources-to-log-multithreaded-asp-net-2-0-web-applica, but I cannot just believe if somebody just says it's OK despite the documentation).

    I want to publish a post to user's wall..for this first i am making user to log in and getting the session id also...but in order to publish i need the user to grant me publish_stream permission..so immmediately after i am obtaining auth_token by capturing url of the login success screen, i am making call to http://www.facebook.com/connect/prompt%5Fpermissions.php? with "api_key","ext_perm","display" as parameteres..but when the above url is redirected and displayed on BrowserField i am seeing "Incompatible web browser " instead of the permission granting dialog or popup..i will be greatful if anyone can help...thanx a lot

    I'm looking into using group policy to deploy a couple of applications. I want to have the log of each installation written to a shared folder on a file server for tracking purposes. I can create the log if I pass the appropriate parameters. For example: msiexec /i Package.msi /l*vx c:\Package.log However using group policy for the deployment, you can't pass any parameters to the installation file. Is there anyway to specify the log file location in the process of creating the msi package?

    Hi, I got a problem migrating from VS.Net 2008 / MVC 1 to VS.NET 2010 (+C# 4.0) / MVC 2 The web.config has been updated, the site runs well in Cassini, but my problem now is deploying on IIS 6. I updated the web site to run using ASP.Net 4, but whatever URL I try, I always have a 404 error. It's as if the routing was not taken into account (yes, the wildcard mapping has been done). I do not understand this mess and could not google anything interesting... Thanks for your suggestions ! O.

(yes, I know this is not a very formal method) Now a new guy without experience are going to join our team. We think now is the momento to make a little list of things that all we should test in each form. Divided by categories.
