  • Encoding a string as an integer .NET

    - by Paul Knopf
    I have a string that I would like represented uniquely as an integer. For example: A3FJEI = 34950140 How would I go about writing a EncodeAsInteger(string) method. I understand that the amount of characters in the string will make the integer increase greatly, forcing the value to become a long, not an int. Since I need the value to be an integer, I don't need the numerical representation to be entirely unique to the string. Maybe I can foreach through all the characters of the string and sum the numerical keycode of the character.

  • PHP Dynamic Breadcrumb

    - by Adrian M.
    Hello, I got this code from someone and it works very well, I just want to remove the link from the last element of the array: //get rid of empty parts $crumbs = array_filter($crumbs); $result = array(); $path = ''; foreach($crumbs as $crumb){ $path .= '/' . $crumb; $name = ucfirst(str_replace(array(".php","_"),array(""," "), $crumb)); $result[] = "<a href=\"$path\">$name</a>"; } print implode(' > ', $result); This will output for example: Content Common File I just want a to remove the link from the last item - "File" to be just plain text.. I tried myself to count the array items and then if the array item is the last one then to print as plain text the last item.. but I'm still noob, I haven't managed to get a proper result.. Thank you!

  • How to get a list of unchecked checkboxes when submitting a form?

    - by SzamDev
    Hi I have this code for example : $b = ""; while ($row = mysql_fetch_array($rows)) { if ($row['enabled'] == 1) { $b = "checked"; } else { $b = "": } echo "<\input name='nam[$row[id]]' type='checkbox' value='$row[id]' $b /"; } When I execute this code, I will get a list of checkboxes, some of them are checked and others are not. I can use this code to get a list of checked checkboxes. if (isset($_POST['sub'])) { //check if form has been submitted or not $nam = $_POST['nam']; if (!empty($nam)) { foreach($nam as $k=>$val){ // proccess operation with checked checkboxes } } I need to know how I can get list of unckecked checkboxes after submitting the form. Thanks in advance.

  • C# Abort()ing threads on exit for a Form

    - by Gio Borje
    So far I have this code run when the X button is clicked, but I'm not sure if this is the correct way to terminate threads on a form on exit. Type t = this.GetType(); foreach (PropertyInfo pi in t.GetProperties()) { if (pi.GetType() == typeof(Thread)) { MethodInfo mi = pi.GetType().GetMethod("Abort"); mi.Invoke(null, new object[] {}); } } I keep getting this error: "An attempt has been made to free an RCW that is in use. The RCW is in use on the active thread or another thread. Attempting to free an in-use RCW can cause corruption or data loss."

  • Using MEF to build a tabbed application dynamically

    - by Mmarquee
    I'm rather taken with MEF and plan to use it to build a demo application to load different tabs. I am a begineer at MEF and WPF and although MEF is loading the assemblies I'm stuck at loading the controls into the TabItem I have created. My code looks a bt like this .. foreach (var page in pages) { TabItem item = new TabItem(); item.Header = page.PageTitle; /// Errm??? // Add each page tcPageControl.Items.Add(item); } The tabs are Pages, so I might be doing it totally wrong, and any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance

  • Check for Existence of a Result in Linq-to-xml

    - by NateD
    I'm using Linq-to-XML to do a simple "is this user registered" check (no security here, just making a list of registered users for a desktop app). How do I handle the result from a query like this: var people = from person in currentDoc.Descendants("Users") where (string)person.Element("User") == searchBox.Text select person; I understand the most common way to use the result would be something like foreach (var line in people){ //do something here } but what do you do if person comes back empty, which is what would happen if the person isn't registered? I've looked around on this site and on MSDN and haven't found a really clear answer yet. Extra credit: Give a good explanation of what people contains.

  • Fastest way to parse XML files in C#?

    - by LifeH2O
    I have to load many XML files from internet. But for testing with better speed i downloaded all of them (more than 500 files) of the following format. <player-profile> <personal-information> <id>36</id> <fullname>Adam Gilchrist</fullname> <majorteam>Australia</majorteam> <nickname>Gilchrist</nickname> <shortName>A Gilchrist</shortName> <dateofbirth>Nov 14, 1971</dateofbirth> <battingstyle>Left-hand bat</battingstyle> <bowlingstyle>Right-arm offbreak</bowlingstyle> <role>Wicket-Keeper</role> <teams-played-for>Western Australia, New South Wales, ICC World XI, Deccan Chargers, Australia</teams-played-for> <iplteam>Deccan Chargers</iplteam> </personal-information> <batting-statistics> <odi-stats> <matchtype>ODI</matchtype> <matches>287</matches> <innings>279</innings> <notouts>11</notouts> <runsscored>9619</runsscored> <highestscore>172</highestscore> <ballstaken>9922</ballstaken> <sixes>149</sixes> <fours>1000+</fours> <ducks>0</ducks> <fifties>55</fifties> <catches>417</catches> <stumpings>55</stumpings> <hundreds>16</hundreds> <strikerate>96.95</strikerate> <average>35.89</average> </odi-stats> <test-stats> . . . </test-stats> <t20-stats> . . . </t20-stats> <ipl-stats> . . . </ipl-stats> </batting-statistics> <bowling-statistics> <odi-stats> . . . </odi-stats> <test-stats> . . . </test-stats> <t20-stats> . . . </t20-stats> <ipl-stats> . . . </ipl-stats> </bowling-statistics> </player-profile> I am using XmlNodeList list = _document.SelectNodes("/player-profile/batting-statistics/odi-stats"); And then loop this list with foreach as foreach (XmlNode stats in list) { _btMatchType = GetInnerString(stats, "matchtype"); //it returns null string if node not availible . . . . _btAvg = Convert.ToDouble(stats["average"].InnerText); } Even i am loading all files offline, parsing is very slow Is there any good faster way to parse them?   • Work time in fullcalendar [Solution]

    - by Zozo
    Full calendar have no included options to work-time feature (selecting first and last rows in agenda view for any day - where in example company is not working). I managed something like that: viewDisplay: function(view){ $.ajax({ url: 'index.php?r=calendar/Default/worktime', dataType: 'json', success: function(data){ if(view.name=='agendaWeek') selectWorkTime(data, 30, 0, 24, false); else if(view.name=='agendaDay') selectDayWorkTime(data, 30, 0, 24, view, false); } }); } Where index.php?r=calendar/Default/worktime is php file returning json. It looks like that: $arr = array( 'mon' => array('8:00', '17:00'), 'tue' => array('9:00', '15:00'), 'wed' => array('9:30', '19:00'), 'thu' => array('6:00', '14:00'), 'fri' => array('0:00', '24:00'), 'sat' => array('9:00', '14:00'), 'sun' => array() ); foreach ($arr as &$day){ foreach($day as &$hour){ $tmp = explode(':', $hour); $hour = $tmp[0] * 3600 + $tmp[1] * 60; } } print json_encode($arr); and at the end, some functions using for counting and selecting work-time: function selectDayWorkTime(timeArray, slotMinutes, minTime, maxTime, viewObject, showAtHolidays){ var dayname; $('.fc-content').find('.fc-view-agendaWeek').find('.fc-agenda-body') .children('.fc-work-time').remove(); $('.fc-content').find('.fc-view-agendaDay') .find('.fc-work-time-day').removeClass('fc-work-time-day'); switch(viewObject.start.getDay()){ case 1: dayname='mon'; break; case 2: dayname='tue'; break; case 3: dayname='wed'; break; case 4: dayname='thu'; break; case 5: dayname='fri'; break; case 6: dayname='sat'; break; case 0: dayname='sun'; break; } for(var day in timeArray){ if(day == dayname){ if($('.fc-content').find('.fc-view-agendaDay').find('.fc-'+day).attr('class').search('fc-holiday') == -1 || showAtHolidays){ var startBefore = 0; var endBefore = timeArray[day][0] / (60 * slotMinutes) - (minTime * 60) / slotMinutes; var startAfter = timeArray[day][1] / (60 * slotMinutes) - (minTime * 60) / slotMinutes; var endAfter = (maxTime - minTime) * 60 / slotMinutes - 1; for(startBefore; startBefore < endBefore; startBefore++){ $('.fc-view-agendaDay').find('.fc-slot'+startBefore).find('div').addClass('fc-work-time-day'); } for(startAfter; startAfter <= endAfter; startAfter++){ $('.fc-view-agendaDay').find('.fc-slot'+startAfter).find('div').addClass('fc-work-time-day'); } } } } } function selectWorkTime(timeArray, slotMinutes, minTime, maxTime, showAtHolidays){ for(var day in timeArray){ var startBefore = 0; var endBefore = timeArray[day][0] / (60 * slotMinutes) - (minTime * 60) / slotMinutes; var startAfter = timeArray[day][1] / (60 * slotMinutes) - (minTime * 60) / slotMinutes; var endAfter = (maxTime - minTime) * 60 / slotMinutes - 1; if(startBefore > endBefore) endBefore = startBefore; if(startAfter > endAfter) startAfter = endAfter; try{ selectCell(startBefore, endBefore, 'fc-'+day, 'fc-work-time', false, showAtHolidays); selectCell(startAfter, endAfter, 'fc-'+day, 'fc-work-time', true, showAtHolidays); } catch(e){ continue; } } } function selectCell(startRowNo, endRowNo, collClass, cellClass, closeGap, showAtHolidays){ $('.fc-content').find('.fc-view-agendaWeek').find('.fc-agenda-body') .children('.'+cellClass+''+startRowNo+''+collClass).remove(); $('.fc-content').find('.fc-view-agendaDay') .find('.fc-work-time-day').removeClass('fc-work-time-day'); if($('.fc-content').find('.fc-view-agendaWeek').find('.'+collClass).attr('class').search('fc-holiday') == -1 || showAtHolidays){ var width = $('.fc-content').find('.fc-view-agendaWeek') .find('.'+collClass+':last').width(); var height = 0; if(closeGap && (startRowNo != endRowNo)){ height = $('.fc-content').find('.fc-view-agendaWeek') .find('.fc-slot'+ startRowNo).height(); } $('.fc-view-agendaWeek').find('.fc-agenda-body').prepend('<div class="'+cellClass+' ' + ''+cellClass+''+startRowNo+''+collClass+'"></div>'); $('.'+cellClass).width(width - 2); height += $('.fc-content').find('.fc-view-agendaWeek') .find('.fc-slot'+ endRowNo).position().top - $('.fc-content').find('.fc-view-agendaWeek') .find('.fc-slot'+ startRowNo).position().top; $('.'+cellClass+''+startRowNo+''+collClass).height(height); $('.'+cellClass+''+startRowNo+''+collClass) .css('margin-top', $('.fc-content').find('.fc-view-agendaWeek') .find('.fc-slot'+ startRowNo).position().top); $('.'+cellClass+''+startRowNo+''+collClass) .css('margin-left', $('.fc-content').find('.fc-view-agendaWeek') .find('.'+collClass+':last').offset().left - width / 2); } } Don't forget about CSS: .fc-work-time-day{ background-color: yellow; opacity: 0.3; filter: alpha(opacity=30); /* for IE */ } .fc-work-time{ position: absolute; background-color: yellow; z-index:10; margin: 0; padding: 0; text-align: left; z-index: 0; opacity: 0.3; filter: alpha(opacity=30); /* for IE */ } So, I've got some questions about - is the other way to make the same, but no using absolute div's in agendaWeek? And... How can I get in viewDisplay function actual slotMinutes, minTime and maxTime

  • Jquery Delay Function Calls

    - by fizgig07
    I'm trying to find a way to delay all code that takes place after I make a service call. The reason for this delay is that my service returns code necesarry for the following functions and the result I pass is to these following functions is undefined. I have tried attaching the setTimeout() to the function that is called directly after the service call, but then it just skips the function I set the timeout on and jumps to the next function...My web method that I am calling is not that big and is not doing anything that is too intensive public bool GetSpreadsheetStatusForAdmin(string cacId) { SpreadSheetStatus result = new SpreadSheetStatus(); List<Data.Spreadsheet> spreadsheets = SpreadsheetManager.GetUserSpreadsheets(GetCurrent.Identity); if (spreadsheets.Count != 0) { foreach (Data.Spreadsheet spreadsheet in spreadsheets) { if (spreadsheet.Status == SpreadsheetStatus.Pending) { return true; } } } return false; } I had found the delay() and thought that might work, but I don't have jquery 1.4 and can't use it as of yet. is there anything that can help..?

  • How can I iterate over a recordset within a stored procedure?

    - by David
    I need to iterate over a recordset from a stored procedure and execute another stored procedure using each fields as arguments. I can't complete this iteration in the code. I have found samples on the internets, but they all seem to deal with a counter. I'm not sure if my problem involved a counter. I need the T-SQL equivalent of a foreach Currently, my first stored procedure stores its recordset in a temp table, #mytemp. I assume I will call the secondary stored procedure like this: while (something) execute nameofstoredprocedure arg1, arg2, arg3 end

  • C# method generic params parameter bug?

    - by Mike M
    Hey, I appears to me as though there is a bug/inconsistency in the C# compiler. This works fine (first method gets called): public void SomeMethod(string message, object data); public void SomeMethod(string message, params object[] data); // .... SomeMethod("woohoo", item); Yet this causes "The call is ambiguous between the following methods" error: public void SomeMethod(string message, T data); public void SomeMethod(string message, params T[] data); // .... SomeMethod("woohoo", (T)item); I could just use the dump the first method entirely, but since this is a very performance sensitive library and the first method will be used about 75% of the time, I would rather not always wrap things in an array and instantiate an iterator to go over a foreach if there is only one item. Splitting into different named methods would be messy at best IMO. Thoughts?

  • Jquery background overlay/alert without .onclick event - php responder?

    - by Philip
    Hi guys, I have no experience with jquery or javascript for that matter. I am trying to implement this technique to respond to users for errors or messages in general. lights-out-dimmingcovering-background-content-with-jquery This method uses the onclick event and that's not what im after, I have tried to replace .onclick with .load but that doesn't seem to work. I'm after a quick fix as I really don't have the time to learn jquery or its event handlers. The goal is to catch any errors or message's and once these are called the alert box is called without any further actions such as .onclick. How my code would look: {PHP} $forms = new forms(); if(count($forms->showErrors) > 0 // or == true) { foreach($forms->showErrors as $error) { print('<p class="alert">'.htmlspecialchars($error, ENT_QUOTES).'</p>'); } }

  • Find order of data inside an array

    - by user271619
    I have a simple array of stuff: $array = array("apples","oranges","strawberries"); I am trying to find the order of the stuff inside the array. (sometimes the order changes, and so do the items) I'm expecting to get something like this: "apples" = 0, "oranges = 1, "strawberries = 2 The end result has something to do with database sorting. Something like this, inside a foreach loop: UPDATE tbl SET sortorder = $neworder WHERE fruit = '$fruitname' The $neworder variable would be populated with the new order, inside the array. While the $fruit variable comes from the item inside the array.

  • Using C# Type as generic

    - by I Clark
    I'm trying to create a generic list from a specific Type that is retrieved from elsewhere: Type listType; // Passed in to function, could be anything var list = _service.GetAll<listType>(); However I get a build error of: The type or namespace name 'listType' could not be found (are you missing a using directive or an assembly reference?) Is this even possible or am I setting foot onto C# 4 Dynamic territory? As a background: I want to automatically load all lists with data from the repository. The code below get's passed a Form Model whose properties are iterated for any IEnum (where T inherits from DomainEntity). I want to fill the list with objects of the Type the list made of from the repository. public void LoadLists(object model) { foreach (var property in model.GetType() .GetProperties(BindingFlags.Public | BindingFlags.Instance | BindingFlags.SetProperty)) { if (IsEnumerableOfNssEntities(property.PropertyType)) { var listType = property.PropertyType.GetGenericArguments()[0]; var list = _repository.Query<listType>().ToList(); property.SetValue(model, list, null); } } }

  • strategy for observer pattern?

    - by fayer
    I want to use observer pattern for a logging system. We have got logObservers and logObservables. The class that will have to log something will implement iLogObservable and include these methods: private $logObservers = array(); public function addLogObserver($logObserver) { $this->logObservers[] = $logObserver; } public function removeLogObserver($logObserver) { $this->logObservers[] = $logObserver; } public function write($type, $message) { foreach($this->logObservers as $logObserver) { $logObserver->log($level, $message); ; } } Then I noticed, that a lot of classes that will use logging will have these methods and I have to copy paste. So isn't it better to have these methods in a class I call LogObservable or just Log and then use strategy (instantiate this class inside all classes that will have to log). When I change the methods in Log, all logObservables will be affected. However, I have not seen anyone use observer pattern with strategy pattern yet, but it seems to be very efficient and remove the duplications. What do you think?

  • empty() not a valid callback?

    - by user151841
    I'm trying to use empty() in array mapping in php. I'm getting errors that it's not a valid callback. $ cat test.php <? $arrays = array( 'arrEmpty' => array( '','','' ), ); foreach ( $arrays as $key => $array ) { echo $key . Long story: I'm trying to be (too?) clever and checking that all array values are not empty strings.

  • Passing a 'var' into another method

    - by Danny
    Hi, I am probably totally missing the point here but.... How can I pass a 'var' into another method? (I am using linq to load XML into an Enumerable list of objects). I have differernt object types (with different fields), but the final step of my process is the same regardless of which object is being used. XNamespace xmlns = ScehmaName; var result = from e in XElement.Load(XMLDocumentLocation).Elements(xmlns + ElementName) select new Object1 { Field1 = (string)e.Element(xmlns + "field1"), Field2 = (string)e.Element(xmlns + "field2") }; var result2 = Enumerable.Distinct(result); This code will vary for the different type of XML files that will be processed. But I then want to iterate though the code to check for various issues: foreach (var w in result2) { if (w.CheckIT()) { //do something } } What I would love is the final step to be in a method in the base class, and I can pass the 'var' varible into it from each child class.

  • Optimal way to generate list of PHP object properties with delimiter character, implode()?

    - by Kris
    I am trying to find out if there is a more optimal way for creating a list of an object's sub object's properties. (Apologies for the crude wording, I am not really much of an OO expert) I have an object "event" that has a collection of "artists", each artist having an "artist_name". On my HTML output, I want a plain list of artist names delimited by a comma. PHP's implode() seems to be the best way to create a comma delimited list of values. I am currently iterating through the object and push values in a temporary array "artistlist" so I can use implode(). That is the shortest I could come up with. Is there a way to do this more elegant? $artistlist = array(); foreach ($event->artists as $artist) { $artistlist[] = $artist->artist_name; } echo implode(', ', $artistlist);

  • Writing a new line to file in PHP

    - by James P
    My code: $i = 0; $file = fopen('ids.txt', 'w'); foreach ($gemList as $gem) { fwrite($file, $gem->getAttribute('id') . '\n'); $gemIDs[$i] = $gem->getAttribute('id'); $i++; } fclose($file); For some reason, it's writing \n as a string, so the file looks like this: 40119\n40122\n40120\n42155\n36925\n45881\n42145\n45880 From Google'ing it tells me to use \r\n, but \r is a carriage return which doesn't seem to be what I want to do. I just want the file to look like this: 40119 40122 40120 42155 36925 45881 42145 45880 Thanks.

  • Generating an array of functions?

    - by Wordpressor
    I have a few PHP files filled with multiple functions. Let's call them functions1.php, functions2.php, functions3.php: function function_something( $atts ) { extract( something_atts( array( 'foo' => 'bar', 'bar' => 'foo, ), $atts ) ); return 'something'; } I'm loading these files within all_functions.php like this: require_once('functions1.php'); require_once('functions2.php'); require_once('functions3.php'); I'm wondering if it's possible to create an array of all these functions and their attributes? I'm thinking about something like: function my_functions() { require_once('functions1.php'); require_once('functions2.php'); require_once('functions3.php'); } And then some foreach loop, but I'm not sure how should it look like after all. I know this probably looks tricky, but I'm just curious if I'm able to list all my WordPress shortcodes without PHP's Reflection API :)

  • Programming issue while applying text to the third party control.

    - by srivatsa
    Hello I have used some third party controls in my windows application. There is a snippet which is being used in our code which re-initializes all the .text property of all the controls on the form. Everything works fine except for a control. This control is similar to the Windows Panel except for it has a dropdown appearance. This control has .Caption property instead of .Text property associated to it. This causes the problem whenever i use such codes foreach (Control oControl in this.Controls) { if (oControl is DropDownPanel) { { oControl.Text = rm_ResourceManager.GetString(oControl.Name + ".Text"); } } } The text is not set here for the DropDownPanel control in the above method. Since .Text is not available for DropDownPanel control. I cannot do the following either .. ((DropDownPanel)oControl).Caption = rm_ResourceManager.GetString(oControl.Name + ".Text"); Cos it shall throw exception if i try to cast oControl with that of DropDownPanel Any ideas how can i overcome such a condition. Regards
