  • Play multiple audio files using AVAudioPlayer

    Hi all, I am planning on releasing 10 of my song recordings for free but bundled in an iphone app. They are not available on web or itunes or anywhere as of now. I am new to iphone sdk (latest) as you can imagine, so I have been going through the developer documentation, various forums and stackoverflow to learn. Apple's avTouch sample application was a great start. But I want my app to play all the 10 tracks one by one. All the songs are added to resources folder and are named as track1, track2...track10. In the avTouch app code I can see the following 2 parts which is where I think I need to make changes to achieve what I am looking for.   • Intellij-Idea: Marking all files of unknown type as text (so that they are searchable)

    Many of my scripts etc in intellij are marked with a question mark. Then when I click on them them it prompts me: The file "bla" cannot be associated with a registered file type. Please choose one: <insert table of file choices> This would not matter except the files are not searchable (with ctrl-shift-n) until they are marked as text. This is a major problem for me. I have an enormous code base and I don't want to mark all of the unknown files as text. Is there anyway that I can do that?

    I want to write a shell script to compare two .csv files. First one contains filename,path the second .csv file contains filename,paht,target. Now, I want to compare the two .csv files and output the target name where the file from the first .csv exists in the second .csv file.   • Handling xml files with different structures and different names

    I have a method and I want different users to pass me xml files. These files will have different names for the elements I am looking for and the elements I am looking for maybe at different structures. My first impression was that we should just tell them to pass in the xml in a standard format. However this is how they have their data and they insist that it is much easier if they don't have to convert it. What can I do to take in data of all types? Have them pass in a dictionary? number = mydata/numbers What is the easiest way for them to define their data to me without actually changing it? sample1 <numbers> 15 </numbers> sample2 <mydata> <mynumbers> 15 </mynumbers> </mydata>

  • Upload large files via a webpage

    What way is the best way to let users upload large files from there webbrowser to a server. I'm talking 200MB+ possible up to a few gigatyes. I have been thinking of a few possible solutions to the problem (not tried them yet) and this is basically the things I came up with. Server download speed will not be a problem but the users connection possibly could. Having some sort of applet on the client side written in Java or Flash which sends the file in parts (is this possible with an applet) to a php/other script on the server and a checksum+ some other info about the file. On the server scripts all the parts and the info file is saved in a temporary directory wich has a unique name based on the checksum of the file and the ip of the user. When the last chunk is sent the applet sends a signal to the server saying it's finished and the server put the file together in the right location. If a chunk doesn't match the checksum for that part the server will send a response to the applet telling it to reupload that chunk. I don't know how important the checksum checking is since it's all tcpackages, someone with more insigth migth be able to answer on that. This is probably the worst way, changing the settings on your server to allow huge fileuploads via an inputfiel. Do it like a normal transfer. User an uploadmanager which does pretty much the same thing as applet i mentioned above. Pros of the first is probably that it would most likely be rather secure, you could show progress as well and possibly resume an upload if ip hasn't changed and do a threaded upload of the chunks. Cons of the first is that the user will need flash/java for it to work. Pros of the 2nd is that it will pretty much work for everyone but cons are big, first there's no way resuming an intruppted download and if something is wrong the whole file would have to be reuploaded is a few of cons. For the third one the pros is pretty muc the same as for the first but the cons is that the user would have to download an application to their computer and run and the application will have to be have to be compatible with their computer and OS. Another way may be a combination of two. Lets say an applet for bigger or more files and a simple input which is rather restricted to maybe max 10-20MB for smaller files and comability. There are probably other much smarter ways to tackle this and that's why I'm asking for advice here on SO.

  • Creating Excel Files with # in Column Name

    I'm having problem creating Excel files using Jet. When I create a table and give it a Column name as CreateTable [Sheet1] ([ColumnName#] String) It replaces the header column with ColumnName. Is there a way I can make excel give the column headers a name with out any conflict in what characters I can have in it? Are there any escape characters that I can use in the column names? Is there a cheap(~$50)/free .NET library that would give me better control over the Excel file that would allow me to create both XLS and XLSX files with out having excel installed? Basically what I'm trying to accomplish is having a DataTable get dumped into an Excel File and have the Column names appear just as they do in the in the DateTable.

  • Remove files from Bazaar

    I'm using Bazaar (bzr) to keep source code for a website updated, but we've ran into a problem when we remove files from version control. The files we are removing are ones we never intended to version to begin with. When this happens we use bzr rm --keep to remove the file from version control, but keep the file in the file system. Doing a bzr push or bzr pull results in the removed file(s) being removed on the other branches (other sites that use our code) We need a way to make sure that a bzr push or bzr pull doesn't actually remove those from the working copy. Anyone have any ideas?

  • Localize node texts in treeview using resource files

    For a project I need a tree view that allows the user to select a module, which then is displayed in a content area. The project relies heavily on localization and this is provided by the resource files. Now I discovered today, that the text that are assigned to preset tree view nodes are not contained in the resource files. So the question is whether there is a way of doing this, short of mapping the elemenst in code. I.e. assigning a name to the node, running over all nodes and pulling the resources from the resouce manager based on the node name.   • Avoid generating empty STDOUT and STDERR files with Sun Grid Engine (SGE) and array jobs

    I am running array jobs with Sun Grid Engine (SGE). My carefully scripted array job workers generate no stdout and no stderr when they function properly. Unfortunately, SGE insists on creating an empty stdout and stderr file for each run. Sun's manual states: STDOUT and STDERR of array job tasks will be written into dif- ferent files with the default location .['e'|'o']'.' In order to change this default, the -e and -o options (see above) can be used together with the pseudo-environment-vari- ables $HOME, $USER, $JOB_ID, $JOB_NAME, $HOSTNAME, and $SGE_TASK_ID. Note, that you can use the output redirection to divert the out- put of all tasks into the same file, but the result of this is undefined. I would like to have the output files suppressed if they are empty. Is there any way to do this?

  • How do I get Eclipse CDT to ignore files

    I have a C++ project in Eclipse. The project uses Perforce and Eclipse has the Perforce plugin installed. Everything was fine, until I decided to create a git repo in my project. I created the git repo to snapshot some changes which I wasn't ready to commit. Everything was fine until I refreshed my files in Eclipse. Two problems have occurred: Eclipse found my .git folder, and indexed all of the files inside of it. Eclipse also decided to add all the git file to my pending change list. If I create a new file within Eclipse, I'd like it to add it to Perforce, but if it happens to find a file, I don't want it to do anything with it. I'd also like to give Eclipse a list of file types to always ignore, just like I do with my .hgignore file.

    In VS2008, I have a web-site project. When I use find in files and search for a string, the find results window will list every occurence twice. What could be causing this? [EDIT] Below is the screen capture from VS. I was searching for the work CommissionBucketProductID within my website project. Notice that each line is returned twice. [EDIT2] In response to your questions. I am only searching within the project, not the whole solution. I currently don't have these files under VSS, although they were in the past.

  • Cant access log files in production.

    I was trying to run my application and check for some output on the production.log. However Rails throws this error. Apache log Rails Error: Unable to access log file. Please ensure that /var/www/somefolder/someapp/log/production.log exists and is chmod 0666. The log level has been raised to WARN and the output directed to STDERR until the problem is fixed. I have performed the necessary chmod 666 production.log to make it work but I realized that the file is under root access. So my file permissions are -rw-rw-rw- 1 root root 20845 2010-03-18 01:18 production.log Im not sure how to allow Rails to access this file. Im fairly new to managing linux production env so I request you to excuse my ignorance.

  • IE8 Debugger: how to load external javascript files?

    I have downloaded and installed IE8. I was playing around with the debugger, but I could not figure out how to load external javascript files. It displays the javascript from the main page, but I need to debug the script in the external files. I have googled various articles that show a screenshot of an IE8 debugger with a drop-down for selecting which script to debug, but my debugger does not feature this. Can anyone help me with this?   • bash script problem, find , mv tilde files created by gedit

    Hi, im using linux with gedit which has the wonderful habit of creating a temp file with a tilde at the end for every file I edit. im trying to move all of these files at once to a different folder using the following: find . -iname “*.php~” -exec mv {} /mydir \; However, its now giving me syntax errors, as if it were searching through each file and trying to move the piece of text. I just want to move all of the files ending in .php~ to another directory. Any idea how I do that? Cheers Ke
