    In Visual Studio 2008, if I had a solution containing multiple C++ projects, I could make them depend on each-other and correctly link by using the "Project Dependencies" option. This fixed up the build order and also made (e.g.) the main application project link against the static library outputs. In Visual Studio 2010, this doesn't seem to work. Did Visual Studio 2010 change the way this works?

    I'm seeking to display a fixed number of items on a web page according to their respective weight (represented by an Integer). The List where these items are found can be of virtually any size. The first solution that comes to mind is to do a Collections.sort() and to get the items one by one by going through the List. Is there a more elegant solution though that could be used to prepare, say, the top eight items?

  • mysql_connect randomly hangs up

    I install php 5 (more precisely 5.3.1) as apache module. After this one of my application becomes randomly hang up on mysql_connect - sometimes works, sometimes no, sometimes reload of page helps. How can this be fixed? I use Windows Vista, Apache/2.2.14 (Win32) PHP/5.3.1 with php module, MySql 5.0.67-community-nt.

  • Twitter Bootstrap Navbar blocking svg viewBox

    I have a navbar fixed to the bottom and I have page that has a title and a giant svg (created by d3.js). I would like the svg to take up the entire screen (whatever is left over), but it always seems to have some part appear behind the bottom nav bar. I've tried: 1) using viewBox to auto-resize, setting the parent div and the svg to be block elements 2) adding padding-bottom to the body element But the svg still appears behind the navbar on wide screen monitors.

  • MetadataType and client validation in ASP.NET MVC 2

    Inherited properties and MetadataType does not seem to work with client side validation in ASP.NET MVC 2. The validation of our MetadataTypes work as expected on the server but for some reason it does not generate the appropriate client scripts for it. Client side validation kicks in as expected for properties with the DataAnnotations attributes set on the PersonView so I know that client side validation is active and that it works. Does anyone know if or how it can be fixed?     Short of using static IP addresses, is it possible to have a Cisco ASA use a DNS name rather than an IP address? For instance, if I want to limit a host in the DMZ to access only one particular web service, but that web service might be globally load balanced or using DynDNS or cloud, how can the ACL be expressed so that a fixed IP address isn't used and the admin doesn't have to keep opening and closing down IP addresses?
