  My iPhone app embeds a UIWebView which loads html via a custom NSProtocol handler I have registered. My problem is that resources referenced in the returned html, which are also loaded via my custom protocol handler, are cached and never reloaded. I'd rather not do this. My presumption is that there is no problem if I were to load my content via the built-in HTTP protocol. In that case, I'm guessing that the UIWebView looks at any Cache-Control flags in the NSURLHTTPResponse object's http headers and abides by them. Since my NSURLResponseObject has no http headers (it's not http...) then perhaps UIWebView just decides to cached the resource (ignoring the NSURLRequest caching directive?). Ideas???

• Double encoded url being fully decoded in ASP.NET

  I have just come across something that is quite strange and yet I haven't found any mention on the interwebs of others having the same problem. If I hit my ASP.NET application with a double encoded url then the Request["myQueryParam"] will do a double decode of the query for me. This is not desirable as I have double encoded my query string for a good reason. Can others confirm I'm not doing something obviously wrong, and why this would happen. A solution to prevent it, without doing some nasty query string parsing, would be great too! As an example if you hit the url: http://localhost/MyApp?originalUrl=http%3a%2f%2flocalhost%2fAction%2fRedirect%3fUrl%3d%252fsomeUrl%253futm_medium%253dabc%2526utm_source%253dabc%2526utm_campaign%253dabc (For reference %25 is the % symbol) Then look at the Request["originalUrl"] (page or controller) the string returned is: http://localhost/Action/Redirect?Url=/someUrl?utm_medium=abc&utm_source=abc&utm_campaign=abc I would expect: http://localhost/Action/Redirect?Url=%2fsomeUrl%3futm_medium%3dabc%26utm_source%3dabc%26utm_campaign%3dabc I have also checked in Fiddler and the URL is being passed to the server correctly (one possible culprit could have been the browser decoding the URL before sending).

• Mapping to a JSON method with url-pattern

  I'm creating a Spring MVC application that will have a controller with 'RequestMapping'-annotated methods, including a JSON method. It currently has static content that resides in webapps/static, and the app itself resides in webapps/myapp. I assume that Catalina's default servlet is handling the static content, and my *.htm url-pattern in web.xml is returning the request for my JSP page, but I haven't been able to get the JSON method to be called. How do I write the url-pattern in the servlet mapping to do so? Using /* has not worked; it prevents the app from being accessed at all. Is there anything else to be aware of? EDIT: The url-pattern '/' appears to allow the JSON request through, because a 406 error is returned. What then would need to be modified to allow JSON to be returned?

  Has anybody some information about accessing Lotus Domino server to fetch entire mail contents by http(s) requests from php linux server? The article by Andrei Kouvchinnikov describes well how to fetch message list in notes mail folders; after obtaining session id during login one can for example select top 100 messages by calling: https://your.server.domain/mail_db/mailbox.nsf/($Inbox)?ReadViewEntries&Start=1&Count=100 And this works perfectly.   I'm currently working on a pinned website tile for my website and instead of using a static XML file i'm linking the tile to a web api that returns user specific XML. My question is: Is it possible to secure this tile so that a user needs to be logged in before the data loads?   We have spring 3.0.x based application, we use SimpleMappingExceptionResolver which sends emails on an exception, when the exception happens within the DispatcherServlet. This gives us following flexibility: Subject can include who the logged in user is, so that we can send personalized email to the user Subject also includes the server on which the error occurred The request params, request url, and headers -- helped us find some problems when search engine indexing the site. However, lately we have been finding the exceptions have been occurring in the filters, and since this is not going through the Resolver, we dont get any emails. We dont like the log4j email appender solution, and not writing another filter to send emails seems right. Is there an accepted pattern to resolve this issue

In my text view, it is showing Map {item=anyType{key=TestKey; value=2;}; item=anyType{key=TestField; value=adsfasd; };} When I ran that in the debugger, I can see the information above in the variable, tempvar. But the question is, how do I retrieve the information (i.e. the actual values of "key" and "value" in each of the array positions)?   I've been working with ASP.NET(WebForm) for a while, but new to ASP.NET MVC. From many articles I've read, in most cases the reason that the controllers are hard to test is because they are accessing the runtime components: HttpContext (including Request, Response ...). Accessing HttpContext in a controller seems bad. However, I must access these components somewhere, reading input from Request, sending results back via Response, and using Session to hold a few state variables. So where is the best place to access these runtime components if we don't access them in a controller? Best regards, Zach@Shine

  Hi, I am working on an application whose primary purpose would be to provide source control management. My idea is to use to SVNKit for file check-out and check-in. However, while working with SVNKit, I realised it does not have the speed I was looking for. For instance, whenever developers create a ChangeRequest, which can encompass change in 3-40 files, I have to create a directory structure distributed across 32 folders. Doing so takes around 50 seconds, Another instance is that after creating change request developers can add files to the request. Copying even a single file from Trunk to branch takes around 6-7 secs. My question is has anyone had experience like this and what did you do to improve the performance? Moreover, is my approach correct? NOTE: I am using "http" protocol and can't use "svn" protocol.

I would like to exclude some general categories from the output. So, fe. it only outputs links in the media and news categories. I though the two gets were going out at the same time but there is no corresponding number of responses. Also when trying to reproduce this pattern as the server if I abort the first GET request the client waits until it times out and starts the request over with out sending any other requests.   Here is my preload script: <script type="text/javascript"> Image_1 = new Image(1,1); Image_1.src = "images/sprites.png"; </script> And it works fine. I can see in the headers the image loading. Here's my question. Even though I have preloaded sprites.png, I notice that when I go to a page on my site that simply displays that entire image, the headers tell me my browser is requesting the server to send the image again. I'm hoping to not sound too naive. But, why would the browser request the image when I preloaded it earlier? Are there other reasons the browser would need to re-request? Also, I put the dimensions as Image(1,1). Sometimes I don't know the dimensions, as that image gets updated from time to time. Maybe that's a reason?

  Situation: I have a "dumb" Javascript frontend that can contact some kind of SSO middleware (MW). The MW can obtain sessions by issuing requests that contain authentication credentials (username, password). I.e. the session will be created for a certain user. My frontend needs to "restart" the session to gain the user's permissions to the target system. For that i need a valid session cookie. The target system is not under my control (could be a more or less public WFS, WMS, etc.), so i cannot add any SSO mechanism to it. Question: Is it possible to "steal" a Session forging a request which URL contains a valid session ID in the jsessionid parameter? Goal : Issue such a request to a Servlet and make it respond with a Set-Cookie header that contains the same id. That way the frontend joins the session and may do whatever the user, which was used to create the session, is able to do.

  Does anyone know if Fiddler can display the raw SOAP messages for ASMX web services? I'm testing a simple web service using both Fiddler2 and Storm and the results vary (Fiddler shows plain xml while Storm shows the SOAP messages).
