Once I'm on this subdomain, urls constructed with $this-url() like this : <a href="<?= $this->url(array('boutique' => 1234), 'fiche_boutique', true) ?>"> Visit this store </a> still point to the subdomain produits.mywebsite.com, where I want it to point to www.mywebsite.com For the moment, I do this : <a href="http://www.mywebsite.com<?= $this->url(array('boutique' => 1234), 'fiche_boutique', true) ?>"> Visit this store </a> But it's not flexible at all.   • Passing Func<T> to controller constructure when using Unity IoC with MVC, advantages?

    I was looking at a sample of how to setup Unity IoC with MVC, and noticed someone who recommended the approach of having the parameters of Func. I believe the advantage is this is kind of like lazy loading the service, if it never gets called it will never get executed and not consume any resources. private readonly Func<IUserService> _userService; public CourseController(Func<IUserService> userService) { this._userService = userService; } Versus a parameter without a Func: private readonly IUserService _userService; public CourseController(IUserService userService) { this._userService = userService; } Can someone explain to me the differences, is it really more effecient?

    Are there any .NET testing frameworks which allow dynamic creation of tests without having to deal with a hokey Attribute syntax? Something like: foreach (var t in tests) { TestFx.Run(t.Name, t.TestDelegate); } But with the test reporting as you would expect... I could do something like this with RowTests et al, but that seems hokey.

    I am using code first approach in a ASP.NET MVC 3 application and all integer primary keys in models (public int Id { get; set; }) are by default configured as an identity with auto-incrementing. How to disable this and enable a way to manually enter the integer for the primary key? The actual situation is that the Id integers have a special meaning and I would therefore like to have them choosable at creation and later editable. It would be ideal if in case the integer is not given at creation time it is auto-incremented, else the specified value is used. But editable primary fields is my primary need. Is there any way to do this elegantly in ASP.NET MVC 3?

I'm starting from scratch, what I currently have is a User-class, and a UserController which saves the User object in de DB (through a Service-layer and Dao-layer), basic Spring MVC. I can't use Spring MVC Validation however in our Model-classes, I have to use an XML document so an Admin can change the rules I think I need a pattern which dynamically builds an algorithm based on what is provided by the XML Rules document, but I can't seem to think of anything other than a massive amount of if-statements. I also have nothing for the parsing yet and I'm not sure how I'm gonna (de)couple it from the actual implementation of the validation-process.

  • IEnumerator seems to be effecting all objects, and not one at a time

    Hey, I am trying to alter an attribute of an object. I am setting it to the value of that same attribute stored on another table. There is a one to many relationship between the two. The product end is the one and the versions is the many. Right now, both these methods that I have tried have set all the products returned equal to the final version object. So, in this case they are all the same. I am not sure where the issue lies. Here are my two code snipets, both yield the same result. int x = 1 IEnumerator<Product> ie = productQuery.GetEnumerator(); while (ie.MoveNext()) { ie.Current.RSTATE = ie.Current.Versions.First(o => o.VersionNumber == x).RSTATE; x++; } and foreach (var product in productQuery) { product.RSTATE = product.Versions.Single(o => o.VersionNumber == x).RSTATE; x++; } The versions table holds information for previous products, each is distinguished by the version number. I know that it will start at 1 and go until it reaches the current version, based on my query returning the proper number of products. Thanks for any advice.

  • Unable to send an associative array in JSON format in Zend to client

    Hi, In one of my actions in a controller, I'm using the json view helper to send back a response to an ajax request. On the client side I alert the data that is passed to the success callback function. It works fine as long as the response is a number or an array with default keys. Once I try to send an associative array, it alerts with [object Object]. Server code: $childArray = array('key'=>'value'); $this->_helper->json($childArray); javascript: function displayChildren(data){ alert(data); } ... $.ajax({ url: "/po/add", dataType: "json", data: {format: "json"}, success: displayChildren }); I have no idea what am I doing wrong here, so any help would be appreciated...

    Hi, Could some one possibly clarify this for me. In the MVC paradigm, the idea is to keep the controller as thin as possible, it is also true that the model is the bit that communicates with data sources such as the database, XML-RPC etc and this is where the business logic should go. Is the POST and GET data a 'data source' and should that kind of data be handled by the model or should it be by the controller. I would normally call a method in the model and pass it the post data, the data would be quality checked by the controller and the model method would simply do the insertion or whatever. Should it be though that controller just calls the model method if a post has occured and it is responsible for sanity check, data checks etc.

    I have to create logic for generation unique number identifier for records in database. id, generated in database is a separate column. At this moment, when user calls "create record" action, I save new record, get its database id, generate record number using this id, then put it to the edit form. Using this way means that all entity fields should be nullable to save record to database. I don't like this way. I know that should be better way. Is there a better practice to generate unique number identifier? What is possibility of generating non-unique random numbers? Thank you

  • Trying to understand the Zend_Auth OpenId

    I'm using a slightly modified version of the Zend_Auth_OpenId classes to get openid logins from google apps. The results are very positive, as I seem to be getting successful results from Google. I cannot get successful results passed to Zend_Auth, though. For example, Zend_Auth_Adapter_OpenId on line 241: if (!$consumer->login($id, $this->_returnTo, $this->_root, $this->_extensions, $this->_response)) { return new Zend_Auth_Result( Zend_Auth_Result::FAILURE, $id, array("Authentication failed", $consumer->getError())); } The consumer calls login() which in turn calls the private method _checkId() in Zend_OpenId_Consumer. _checkId() always ends in redirecting to the openid server. How is this ever supposed to return a valid Zend_Auth_Result object? I'm pretty close to giving up and trying to implement another OpenId library, but I'm so close to just making this work. I must be missing something so obvious! Maybe I don't understand how openid works exactly, but if someone could help me understand I would really appreciate it.

  • What to set the scalar type to contain a byte []. Entity in MVC2

    I'm trying out the EF 4.0 and using the Model first approach. I'd like to store images into the database and I'm not sure of the best type for the scalar in the entity. I currently have it(the image scalar type) setup as a binary. From what I have been reading the best way to store the image in the db is a byte[]. So I'm assuming that binary is the way to go. If there is a better way I'd switch. In my controller I have: //file from client to store in the db HttpPostedFileBase file = Request.Files[inputTagName]; if (file.ContentLength > 0) { keyToAdd.Image = new byte[file.ContentLength]; file.InputStream.Write(keyToAdd.Image, 0, file.ContentLength); } This builds fine but when I run it I get an exception writing the stream to keyToAdd.Image. The exception is something like: Method does not exist. Any ideas? Note that when using a EF 4.0 model first approach I only have int16, int32, double, string, decimal, binary, byte, DateTime, Double, Single, and SByte as available types. Thanks

  • Why newly created entity object with navigation property is automaticly added to ObjectContext?

    I have to entities: Company and Location (one to many). When I create new Location entity object and assign navigation property(Company) with the navigation property of already existing Location object (Location _new = new Location(); _new.Company = _old.Company). It seems that at that point newly created object is added to Object Context automatically, because when I call SaveChanges method that object is insert to database although I didn't call ObjectContext.AddObject(_new). I'm new in EF so there is probably reason why I have result like this? Is there need to assign also CompanyReference filed too and how to do it? IDaoFactory daoFactory = new DaoFactory(); ILocationDao locaitonDao = daoFactory.GetLocationDao(); IEnumerable<Location> locations = locaitonDao.GetLocations(); Location _old = locations.First(); Location _new = new Location(); _new.LocationName = _old.LocationName; _new.Company = _old.Company;// 1 _new.Address = _old.Address; //... I try to achieve this: I have column(nvarchar) with this: for ex.row1. 1;3;4;5,row2. 3;4;6 row3. 7;8;16 etc. I have list(of string) with 1,6. My goal is to get row1 and row2 in result set. I try with linq to entity and with linq to sql but i can't get this right. I stuck with this and any help would be appreciated... Tnx

  • Zend_Dojo_Form not rendering in layout

    Hi, I have a quick question about adding Zend_Dojo_Form into Zend_layouts. I have a Zend_Dojo_Form that I want to display in the layout that is used for a particular controller. I can add the form to the layout without any issue however the dojo elements fail to render, as they would do if I added the form to a standard view. Is there any reason why this would be the case? Do I need to do something to the layout so that it will enable the components for this embedded form in the layout. Any other dojo enabled forms that are added in the view using this layout work fine. My form is created in the usual way: class QuickAddJobForm extends Zend_Dojo_Form{ public function init(){ $this->setName('quickaddjobfrm') ->setMethod('post') ->setAction('/addjob/start/); /*We now create the elements*/ $jobTitle = new Zend_Dojo_Form_Element_TextBox('jobtitle', array( 'trim' => true ) ); $jobTitle->setAttrib('style', 'width:200px;') ->addFilter('StripTags') ->removeDecorator('DtDdWrapper') ->removeDecorator('HtmlTag') ->removeDecorator('Label'); .... $this->addElements(array($jobTitle, ....)); In the controller I declare the layout and the form in the init function: public function init(){ $this->_helper->layout->setLayout('add-layout'); $form = new QuickAddJobForm(); $form->setDecorators(array(array('ViewScript', array('viewScript' => 'quickAddJobFormDecorator.phtml')))); $this->_helper->layout()->quickaddjob = $form; In my layout Where I want the form I have: echo $this->layout()->quickaddjob; Why would adding this form in the layout fail to render/add the Dojo elements?     Our Zend_Log is initialized by only adding the following lines to application.ini resources.log.stream.writerName = "Stream" resources.log.stream.writerParams.mode = "a" So Zend_Application_Resource_Log will create the instance for us. We are already able to access this instance in controllers via the following: public function getLog() { $bootstrap = $this->getInvokeArg('bootstrap'); //if (is_null($bootstrap)) return false; if (!$bootstrap->hasPluginResource('Log')) { return false; } $log = $bootstrap->getResource('Log'); return $log; } So far, so good. Now we want to use the same log instance in model classes, where we can not access the bootstrap. Our first idea was to register the very same Log instance in Zend_Registry to be able to use Zend_Registry::get('Zend_Log') everywhere we want: in our Bootstrap class: protected function _initLog() { if (!$this->hasPluginResource('Log')) { throw new Zend_Exception('Log not enabled'); } $log = $this->getResource('Log'); assert( $log != null); Zend_Registry::set('Zend_Log', $log); } Unfortunately this assertion fails == $log IS NULL --- but why?? It is clear that we could just initialize the Zend_Log manually during bootstrapping without using the automatism of Zend_Application_Resource_Log, so this kind of answers will not be accepted.

  • Using Google's Contacts API's, how can I get the user's name and gmail address?

    I know how to get the entire contacts list using Google Contacts API (I get a session token and use Google's Zend package for PHP). But how can I get the person's name and email address? Currently, the Contacts API just seems to give all of the contacts. I'm not sure how to distinguish which email and name out of that list corresponds to the user's account. Is there an easy way to get the user's full name and email address? Any help would be useful. Thanks!

  • Saving a modified object from ASP.NET MVC View Using Entity-Franework 4

    I retrieve an object graph from DB using EF4. The context is closed as soon as the data retrieve and the data passes to the controller, and then to the view. in the view the data is modified, and then the controller gets it back. From the controller I run Repository.Update(MyEmp); and in my repository the code goes: using (var context = new mydb()) { if (myEmp.ID != 0) // Checking if it's modified or new { context.Emp.Attach(MyEmp); int result = context.SaveChanges(); return myEmp.ID; } } The problem - once attached, the object entityState goes to unchanged, and not modified, and of course - nothing is saved to the database. What am I doing wrong ?
