How can create the smallest possible mirror of the archive?

I need to create an http url at my laptop to have a Ubuntu installation begin within my laptop on a Xen environment. This is how the final thing will look like. The host and client are both going to be my laptop, I Googled and came across apt-mirror and some other packages. I do not want to archive entire 15 GB Ubuntu repositories on my machine. It is not possible to use a CD,ISO,loop mounted disk (reason mentioned below). I have tried using netboot image on local machine which failed because if you are attempting to create a virtual machine on a hardware which does not support VT virt-manager installer necessarily needs a URL of this sort http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/dists/hardy/main/installer-i386/current/images/netboot/ Any other option to create guest OS is simply grayed out. The unfortunate part is my Ethernet connections do not work when I boot with Xen-4.0 and a pv-ops Dom0 kernel from Jeremy's tree. Which is where I have to do this work. So I have to create a URL structure which is similar to Ubuntu mirrors. So how can I do this in bare minimum so that at least the console boots and once the console comes I can do some work.

Sending notification after an event has remained open for a specified period

Such an incident rule will help prevent premature alerts on issues that may correct themselves within a certain amount of time. For example, there are some agents in an unstable network area, and often there are communication failures between the agents and the OMS lasting three, four minutes at a time. In this scenario, you may only want to receive alerts after an agent in that area has been in the Agent Unreachable status for at least five minutes. Note: Many non-target availability metrics allow users to specify the “number of occurrences” or the number of consecutive times metric values reach thresholds before a notification is sent. It is best to use the feature for such metrics. This article provides a step-by-step guide for creating an incident rule set to cater for the above scenario, that is, to create an incident and send a notification after the Agent Unreachable event has remained open for a five-minute duration. Steps to create the incident rule 1. Log on to the console and navigate to Setup -> Incidents -> Incident Rules. Note: A non-super user requires the Create Enterprise Rule Set privilege, which is a resource privilege, to create an incident rule. The Incident Rules - All Enterprise Rules page displays. 2. Click Create Rule Set … The Create Rule Set page displays. 3. Enter a name for the rule set (e.g. Rule set for agents in flaky network areas), optionally enter a description, and leave everything else at default values, and click + Add. The Search and Select: Targets page pops up. Note: While you can create a rule set for individual targets, it is a best practice to use a group for this purpose. 4. Select an appropriate group, e.g. the AgentsInFlakyNework group. The Select button becomes enabled, click the button. The Create Rule Set page displays. 5. Leave everything at default values, and click the Rules tab. The Create Rule Set page displays. 6. Click Create… The Select Type of Rule to Create page pops up. 7. Leave the Incoming events and updates to events option selected, and click Continue. The Create New Rule : Select Events page displays. 8. Select Target Availability from the Type drop-down list. The page shows more options for Target Availability. 9. Select the Specific events of type Target Availability option, and click + Add. The Select Target Availability events page pops up. 10. Select Agent from the Target Type dropdown list. The page expands. 11. Click the Agent unreachable checkbox, and click OK. Note: If you want to also receive a notification when the event is cleared, click the Agent unreachable end checkbox as well before clicking OK. The Create New Rule : Select Events page displays. 12. Click Next. The Create New Rule : Add Actions page displays. 13. Click + Add. The Add Actions page displays. 14. Do the following: a. Select the Only execute the actions if specified conditions match option (You don’t want the action to trigger always). The following options appear in the Conditions for Actions section. b. Select the Event has been open for specified duration option. The Conditions for actions section expands. c. Change the values of Event has been open for to 5 Minutes as shown below. d. In the Create Incident or Update Incident section, click the Create Incident checkbox as following: e. In the Notifications section, enter an appropriate EM user or email address in the E-mail To field. f. Click Continue (in the top right hand corner). The Create New Rule : Add Actions page displays. 15. Click Next. The Create New Rule : Specify name and Description page displays. 16. Enter a rule name, and click Next. The Create New Rule : Review page appears. 17. Click Continue, and proceed to save the rule set. The incident rule set creation completes. After one of the agents in the group specified in the rule set is stopped for over 5 minutes, EM will send a mail notification and create an incident as shown in the following screenshot. In conclusion, you have seen the steps to create an example incident rule set that only creates an incident and triggers a notification after an event has been open for a specified period. Such an incident rule can help prevent unnecessary incidents and alert notifications leaving EM administrators time to more important tasks. - Loc Nhan

My partition table is facing limitations; having problems creating more partitions

I first noticed an issue when trying to install Linux Mint 14 as a third OS alongside Ubuntu 12.10 and Windows 7 - I was unable to create another partition to install Mint to. Poking around, I realised that I had reached the limit of primary partitions: (from left to right of the table) 1) a ~100 MB primary partition that I meant to use for storing Grub files but never got down to, 2) a 25 GB extended partition, with the entire partition containing an ext4 Ubuntu partition, 3) a ~513 GB partition containing Windows 7, 4) some ~50 GB of unallocated space, and finally 5) a 4 GB swap partition. I decided to wipe off the first ~100 MB partition, which I didn't need anyway. This brought me to a dilemma, however: as Ubuntu, during initial installation, had created an extended partition for itself, which meant that I could not create any more. Having an extended partition for Ubuntu is virtually useless as there is only enough space to contain Ubuntu itself, and the benefits of extended are worthless here. And if I go ahead and install Mint now, I would face the same issue of too many primary partitions in the future should I want to create any more. What I'd really like to do is this: convert the current extended partition into a normal primary partition, and create a new extended partition in the unallocated space for all future partitions. Is this possible, and if so how? Thanks in advance!

Dependency injection: At what point am I allowed to create a new object?

I am refactoring a PHP application, and I am trying to do has much dependency injection (DI) as possible. I feel like I've got a good grasp of how it works, and I can certainly see my classes becoming a lot leaner and more robust. I'm refactoring so that I can inject a dependency rather than create a new object within the class, but at some point I am going to have to create some objects, that is, use the dreaded new keyword. The problem I have now run into is at what point can I actually create new objects? It's looking like I'll end up at a top level class, creating loads of new objects as there is no where else to go. This feels wrong. I've read some blogs that use factory classes to create all the objects, and then you inject the factory into other classes. You can then call the factory methods, and the factory creates the new object for you. My concern with doing this is now my factory classes are going to be a new free-for-all! I guess this may be OK as they are factory classes, but are there some rules to stick to when using a factory pattern and DI, or am I going way off the mark here?

How does one check if a table exists in an Android SQLite database?

I have an android app that needs to check if there's already a record in the database, and if not, process some things and eventually insert it, and simply read the data from the database if the data does exist. I'm using a subclass of SQLiteOpenHelper to create and get a rewritable instance of SQLiteDatabase, which I thought automatically took care of creating the table if it didn't already exist (since the code to do that is in the onCreate(...) method). However, when the table does NOT yet exist, and the first method ran upon the SQLiteDatabase object I have is a call to query(...), my logcat shows an error of "I/Database(26434): sqlite returned: error code = 1, msg = no such table: appdata", and sure enough, the appdata table isn't being created. Any ideas on why? I'm looking for either a method to test if the table exists (because if it doesn't, the data's certainly not in it, and I don't need to read it until I write to it, which seems to create the table properly), or a way to make sure that it gets created, and is just empty, in time for that first call to query(...)

What stage of normalization is this? (moving repeating data into separate table)

Hi There, I have noticed that when designing a database I tend to shift any repeating sets of data into a separate table. For example, say I had a table of people, with each person living in a state. I would then move these repeating states into a separate table and reference them with foreign keys. However, what if I was not storing any more data about states. I would then have a table with StateID and State in. Is this action correct? State is dependant on the primary key of the users table, so does shifting it into its own table help with anything? I try to realize a link (in fact many links) that update a table in an website using an AjaxLink of Wicket. But I fail, the table is never updated (I have "setOutputMarkupId(true)" and call "addComponent", but there must be something other thats wrong). How can I realize a panel with a number of links and a table that displays dynamic data, dependent on the link clicked? Can someone give an example (Maybe two links, when the first one is clicked the table displays two random numbers from 1-10, when the second is clicked the table displays random numbers from 1-100)? Without reloading the entire page, but only the html for the table?

How do you select form elements in JQuery based upon an html table?

I am working on some ASP.NET web forms which involves some dynamic generation, and I need to add some onClick helpers on the client side. I have a basic outline of something working, except for one huge problem. There are multiple HTML tables, each generated by a different ASP.NET web control. Each table can contain overlapping field names, which is causing a problem with my JQuery click event handlers. The click event handler is linking to unintended form fields in addition to the intended form field. I have provided a simplified sample version of the code below. This code is trying to set the value of textbox box1 when a particular radiobutton is selected in the table with id=thing1. Obviously, the jquery code will be triggered for the form fields in both tables. The tables are dynamically added to the webpage based upon different conditions. It is possible that no tables will be loaded, only 1 table, or both tables might load. In the future, other tables could be added. Each table comes from a different .net web control. Other than renaming the form fields to make sure they are unique across all user controls, is there a way to have JQuery act only on the intended form fields? How to return table name from stored procedure in dataset.

I used a dataset to store 15 tables that I need at the time of loading. When i filled all the tables using stored procedure it returns me all the table but name of the table doesn't comes as that of actual table name in a database. It takes all the table with table name as Table1, Table2, Table3... I want them to be with the name as they actually are in table. Please help me to allow my `JTable` to search the text even the table is in editable mode on key-press

If user starts pressing keys using keyboards then JTable is supposed to be searched the matching text for him and if user double clicks on cell then Table should allow him to edit the text. And the issue is - Table is only searching text when the table is in non-editable mode and if Table is editable and user starts typing the text-using keyboard, cell is allowing him to edit the cell rather then search. Mr mKorbel has just solved my issue to allow edit only if double click on Table cell. Please help me to allow my JTable to search the text even the table is in editable mode on key-press.

LWJGL Circle program create's an oval-like shape

I'm trying to draw a circle in LWJGL, but when I draw I try to draw it, it makes a shape that's more like an oval rather than a circle. Also, when I change my circleVertexCount 350+, the shape like flips out. I'm really not sure how the code works that creates the vertices(I have taken Geometry and I know the basic trig ratios). I haven't really found that good of tutorials on creating circles. For the first time I am needing to join information from two tables and am quite nervous about doing it without any advice first. Basically, I am building a secure site that is accessed by authorised users. I have my login table with user_id, username, password Once the user is on the site, they have the option of inputting data into another table called input. At the moment this table only captures the information that is entered, not the user_id or username of the inputter. I would like the form to be able to input the user_id and/or username from the login table into the input table. Please could somebody talk me through this process? I am sure that once this is amended, I will then be able to use the table to only allow the logged in user to access the information that he or she have inputted, is that correct? Many thanks

I have the 2 following tables: Table A: A1: String A2: Integer value coming from table B A3: More Data Table B: B1: String B2: Integer Value Example row of A: {"Value", 101, MoreData} Example row of B: {"English", 101} Now, I know I need to INSERT the following into A {"Value2", "English", MoreData} but obviously that won't work because it is expecting an Integer in the second column not the word "English", so I need to do a lookup in Table B first. Question: When csv data is being loaded into table, I want to put current date in table for all those corresponding 'deleted' entries in csv file. And null for 'current' entries. How can I do this? Hello, I have some users setup in a MySQL table with different variables. I am trying to figure out what would be the best way to do this. Basically I want to award all of my registered and active users with bids which are stored in another table. So for the Table "users" I have ran this query: SELECT * FROM users WHERE active = 1 AND admin = 0 ORDER BY users.id ASC Which will show all active users who are not administrators. Now I would like to give each one of these users which are identified by the "ID" field in another table. So in the "bids" table I would need to add a new row for each one of those users with all of the same values except for the "user_id" field which will basically match the "id" field of the table "users" What would be the best approach for this. There are approximately 6,000+ users coming up in the first query. Please be gentle as I am not a programmer. Just need some friendly advice.

A single category contains a list of expense transactions and every expense transaction should have a Category. In this post, we will be focusing on CRUD operations for the entity Category and will be working on the Expense entity with a View Model object in the later post. And the source code for this application will be refactored over time. The above entities are very simple POCO (Plain Old CLR Object) classes and the entity Category is decorated with validation attributes in the System.ComponentModel.DataAnnotations namespace. Now we want to use these entities for defining model objects for the Entity Framework 4. Using the Code First approach of Entity Framework, we can first define the entities by simply writing POCO classes without any coupling with any API or database library. When we are running the application at first time, it will automatically create the database. EF code-first look for a connection string in web.config or app.config that has the same name as the dbcontext class. If it is not find any connection string with the convention, it will automatically create database in local SQL Express database by default and the name of the database will be same name as the dbcontext class. You can also define the name of database in constructor of the the dbcontext class. Unlike NHibernate, we don’t have to use any XML based mapping files or Fluent interface for mapping between our model and database. The model classes of Code First are working on the basis of conventions and we can also use a fluent API to refine our model. The convention for primary key is ‘Id’ or ‘<class name>Id’. If primary key properties are detected with type ‘int’, ‘long’ or ‘short’, they will automatically registered as identity columns in the database by default. Primary key detection is not case sensitive. We can define our model classes with validation attributes in the System.ComponentModel.DataAnnotations namespace and it automatically enforces validation rules when a model object is updated or saved. Generic Repository for EF Code First We have created model classes and dbcontext class. Now we have to create generic repository pattern for data persistence with EF code first.
