Initializing links in jqtouch in AJAX loaded content

I have an iphone web app built in jqtouch, when content is loaded by links ("a" tags) then any content on the next page is parsed by jqtouch and any links are initialized. However, when I load content via an AJAX call and append() it to an element then any links in that content are NOT initialized by jqtouch. Thus any clicks on those links are full-blown clicks to a new resource and are not handled by jqtouch, so at that point you've effectively broken out of jqtouch. How can you get NVelocity to initialize correctly?

I can't get NVelocity to initialize. I'm not trying to do anything complicated, so it's just fine if it initializes at the defaults, but it won't even do that. This: VelocityEngine velocity = new VelocityEngine(); ExtendedProperties props = new ExtendedProperties(); velocity.Init(props); Results in: "It appears that no class was specified as the ResourceManager..." So does this: VelocityEngine velocity = new VelocityEngine(); velocity.Init(); I can find precious little documentation on what the properties should be, nor how to get it to initialize with the simple defaults. Can anyone point to a resource? A lot of pages point back to this page: http://www.castleproject.org/others/nvelocity/usingit.html But this page skips over the (seemingly) most important point -- how to set the properties and what to set them to. I just want to load a simple template from a file.

LINQ: GroupBy with maximum count in each group

Hi, I have a list of duplicate numbers: Enumerable.Range(1,3).Select(o => Enumerable.Repeat(o, 3)).SelectMany(o => o) // {1,1,1,2,2,2,3,3,3} I group them and get quantity of occurance: Enumerable.Range(1,3).Select(o => Enumerable.Repeat(o, 3)).SelectMany(o => o) .GroupBy(o => o).Select(o => new { Qty = o.Count(), Num = o.Key }) Qty Num 3 1 3 2 3 3 What I really need is to limit the quantity per group to some number. If the limit is 2 the result for the above grouping would be: Qty Num 2 1 1 1 2 2 1 2 2 3 1 3 So, if Qty = 10 and limit is 4, the result is 3 rows (4, 4, 2). The Qty of each number is not equal like in example. The specified Qty limit is the same for whole list (doesn't differ based on number). Thanks

According to the tutorial : http://jpa.ezhibernate.com/Javacode/learn.jsp?tutorial=27hibernateloadvshibernateget, If you initialize a JavaBean instance with a load method call, you can only access the properties of that JavaBean, for the first time, within the transactional context in which it was initialized. If you try to access the various properties of the JavaBean after the transaction that loaded it has been committed, you'll get an exception, a LazyInitializationException, as Hibernate no longer has a valid transactional context to use to hit the database. But with my experiment, using hibernate 3.6, and postgres 9, it doesnt throw any exception at all. Am i missing something ? Intellij Community can't use http proxy for Maven

I have Intellij IDEA Community installed on a Linux box that needs to use an authenticated proxy to get to the Internet. I have a system-wide proxy on the box that works, and I have the proxy configured in ~/.m2/settings.xml. Maven correctly uses the proxy when I run try it from the command-line. I have the same proxy configured within Intellij and it gives me the plugins listing correctly. But when I try to sync with the Maven repository withing Intellij I keep getting this: [WARNING] Unable to get resource 'org.codehaus.mojo:hibernate3-maven-plugin:pom:2.2' from repository restlet (http://maven.restlet.org): Authorization failed: Not authorized by proxy. I went to Settings-Maven and put in the proxy info as properties and that didn't work. I can see by looking at those settings that Intellij is reading my ~./m2/settings.xml fine because it knows where my local repo is (it's in a non-standard place). Anyone know how I can get this working?

Database Design for a double entry accounting system

Should journal entries be recorded in a database design? In the real world it makes sense to keep a daily entry book, then later transfer the daily entry book into double entry accounts. but in the computerized version, doing this produces duplicate records and that doesn't quite make sense? ???? What i mean is 1) user enter details , it gets recorded (this would be called the journalbook in real life) 2) the software does all the double entry accounting then references the journalbook and splits up the transaction into the double entry accounting system.

Unix [Homework]: Get a list of /home/user/ directories in /etc/passwd

I'm very new to Unix, and currently taking a class learning the basics of the system and its commands. I'm looking for a single command line to list off all of the user home directories in alphabetical order from the /etc/passwd directory. This applies only to the home directories, and not the contents within them. There should be no duplicate entries. I've tried many permutations of commands such as the following: sort -d | find /etc/passwd /home/* -type -d | uniq | less I've tried using -path, -name, removing -type, using -prune, and changing the search pattern to things like /home/*/$, but haven't gotten good results once. At best I can get a list of my own directory (complete with every directory inside it, which is bad), and the directories of the other students on the server (without the contained directories, which is good). I just can't get it to display the /home/user directories and nothing else for my own account. Many thanks in advance.

How to access uploaded files in Ruby

I am trying use a Java Uploader in a ROR app (for its ease of uploading entire directories). The selected uploader comes with some PHP code that saves the files to the server. I am trying to translate this code to Ruby, but am stumped on this point: PHP has a very convenient superglobal – $_FILES – that contains a hash of all files uploaded to the current script via the HTTP POST method. It appears Ruby does not have a similar resource. Lacking that, what is the best way to access and save the uploaded files? I am using the JavaPowUpload uploader ( http://www.element-it.com/OnlineHelpJavaPowUpload/index.html ).

User authentication on a Jersey REST service

I am currently developing a REST application, which is using the Jersey framework. I would like to know a way that I can control user authentication. I have search a lot of places, and the closest article I have found is this: http://weblogs.java.net/blog/2008/03/07/authentication-jersey. However this article can only be used whith a GlassFish server and a attached database. Is there anyway that I can implement an interface in Jersey and use it as a filter before reaching the requested REST resource? I want to use basic authentication right now, but it should be flexible enough such that I can change that at a later time. Thanks in Advance Stefan.

pyglet and animated gif

Hello, I have a message box pop up when a certain operation is being executed sort of "wait..." window and I want to have a "loading" *.gif animation there to lighten up the mood :) Anyways I can't seem to figure out how to make this work. What is the correct Qt idiom for exposing signals/slots of contained widgets?

Suppose I have a MyWidget which contains a MySubWidget, e.g. a custom widget that contains a text field or something. I want other classes to be able to connect to signals and slots exposed by the contained MySubWidget instance. Is the conventional way to do this: Expose a pointer to the MySubWidget instance through a subWidget() method in MyWidget Duplicate the signals and slots of MySubWidget in the MyWidget class and write "forwarding" code Something else? Choice 1 seems like the least code, but it also sort of breaks encapsulation, since now other classes know what the contained widgets of MyWidget are and might become dependent on their functionality. Choice 2 seems like it keeps encapsulation, but it's a lot of seemingly redundant and potentially convoluted code that kind of messes up the elegance of the whole signals and slots system. What is normally done in this situation?

I am looking for a list (if one exists) or some resource guide of specific html and css tags that have changed from IE7 to IE8. Specifically, I want to see something like "this code works in IE7 but not IE8... here is the broken tag's equivalent to make IE8 work." Setting freemarker template from classpath

I have a web application that I need to manually obtain a Freemarker template - the template is obtained via a class in a library project, but the actual tpl file is contained in the web application classpath. So, there are 2 projects, one 'taac-backend-api' and another 'taac-web'; taac-backend-api has the code to grab the template, and process it, but taac-web is where the template is stores (specifically in: WEB-INF/classes/email/vendor.tpl) - I have tried everything from using springs classpath resource to using Freemarkers setClassForTemplateLoading method. I assume this would work: freemarkerConfiguration = new Configuration(); freemarkerConfiguration.setClassForTemplateLoading(this.getClass(), ""); Template freemarkerTemplate = freemarkerConfiguration.getTemplate("/email/vendor.tpl"); yet, I always get a FileNotFoundException. Can someone explain the best way to obtain a template from the classpath? Thanks.

Concerting an iTunes iphone OS 4.0 backup to 3.2

Hello ! I use my 4.0 iPhone for both work and personal stuff. So iTunes keeps, every time I sync my iPhone, a backup in ~/Library/Application Support/MobileSync/Backup. I recently bought an iPad (OS 3.2). I'd like to be able to duplicate my iPhone backup, and restore it on the iPad (so I'll have all my apps settings, passwords, application positions, etc... from the iPhone on the iPad) So, I need to convert the backup from 4.0 to 3.2. I know this is not officially supported by Apple, but has any of you guys figured that out ? There are 5 easily editable files in the backup folder : Info.plist Manifest.mbdb Manifest.mbdx Manifest.plist Status.plist Thanks !

JDBC: What is the correct JDBC URL to connect to a RAC database

This class reads the connection properties from a resource file and tries to make a connection to Oracle (thin connection). However, recently the database have moved to a RAC and now the application is unable to connect to the DB. REST api design to retrieve summary information

I have a scenario in which I have REST API which manages a Resource which we will call Group. A Group is similar in concept to a discussion forum in Google Groups. Now I have two GET access method which I believe needs separate representations. The 1st GET access method retrieves the minimal amount of information about a Group. Given a *group_id* it should return a minimal amount of information like { group_id: "5t7yu8i9io0op", group_name: "Android Developers", is_moderated: true, number_of_users: 34, new_messages: 5, icon: "http://boo.com/pic.png" } The 2nd GET access method retrives summary information which are more statistical in nature like: { group_id: "5t7yu8i9io0op", top_ranking_users: { [ { user: "george", posts: 789, rank: 1 }, { user: "joel", posts: 560, rank: 2 } ...] }, popular_topics: { [ ... ] } } I want to separate these data access methods and I'm currently planning on this design: GET /group/:group_id/ GET /group/:group_id/stat Only the latter will return the statistical information about the group. What do you think about this ?

Relative Resizing of Forms in C#

What is the magic that makes components cling to the edges of a form? I had thought that one must use the resize event of the form and them force each element in the form to resize. But then I saw some sample code which, even when I am editing the form, the elements seem to adhere to a percentage of the space they take up in the form rather than a set diminsion. In other words, when I am editing the form and resizing it, the panels and the parts inside the form bend their shape such that the edges remain a few pixels from the edges. But in my own program I have not been able to find where I can duplicate this feature. Powerpoint Add-In: Add a Button to PPT to SyntaxHighlight a Textbox

Hi Guys, I am trying to write an Add-In to Powerpoint that does basically one thing: Give users a Button somewhere to click, once they click on it the currently selected TextField should get syntax highlighted. The Syntax highlighting part is easy, I'm just having a real hard time finding some good information on how to successfully interact with Powerpoint from code. There are some MSDN articles highlighting how to add controls on document start or AddSlide, but no good information on how to extend the UI. Has anyone had some experience in this field and could point me to some resource that may help? Also, I am running Powerpoint 2007 while my customer may end up running PPT2003. How is the backwards compatibility of the Add-ins? greetings Daniel

IE 11 not listening to MSFullscreenChange

IE 11 does not seem to be recognizing MSFullscreenChange. I have this code in the script: document.addEventListener("MSFullscreenChange", function () { if (document.msFullscreenElement != null) { console.info("Went full screen"); } else { console.info("Exited full screen"); } }); In other words, I'm using the exact code shown here on Microsoft's own site, but nothing's being printed out in the console, and I know fullscreen is enabled. I also noticed I'm getting the SEC7118 message: XMLHttpRequest for https://gdata.youtube.com/feeds/api/videos/qywzeXowktA?v=2&alt=json required Cross Origin Resource Sharing (CORS). That wouldn't be affecting it, would it?

Silverlight Threading and its usage

Hello Experts, Scenario : I am working on LOB application, as in silverlight every call to service is Async so automatically UI is not blocked when the request is processed at server side. Silverlight also supports threading as per my understanding if you are developing LOB application threads are most useful when you need to do some IO operation but as i am not using OOB application it is not possible to access client resource and for all server request it is by default Async. In above scenario is there any usage of Threading or can anyone provide some good example where by using threading we can improve performance. I have tried to search a lot on this topic but everywhere i have identified some simple threading example from which it is very difficult to understand the real benefit. Thanks for help

Could the HTML 5 Video tag pick up an IP Multicast Stream?

I've been researching methods of getting an IP Multicast over UDP to the browser, and have found little that suggests I would be able to do it without using a plug-in like Java, Flash, or Silverlight in order to open a UDP port and (somehow) render the video. Checking out the HTML 5 <video> spec, there is (obviously) little in the way of specific implementation details, so as far as I can tell, there is nothing stopping a browser from parsing a address of the form "udp://224.1.1.1:8000" and joining a multicast group on that IP/port. Is this a correct understanding? Or must the resource pointed to by the <source> be a file?

Android ConnectivityManager information

I am trying to get a better grip on Android's ConnectivityManager and how it really works under the hood. Using the API is simple enough but I am looking for something lower level such as when it starts and the dirty details of what its doing in the background. I can't seem to find a good resource about it. Everything is just about using the API. Does anyone understand this or have any resources that they could point me to, website, book, white paper, or otherwise? I would really appreciate it. Thanks
