  • Eclipse thinks there are problems with my Android project...

    I have an Android project and Eclipse is telling me my project has an error with its build path. Specifically, the problem view shows "The project cannot be built until build path errors are resolved". The entire project builds just fine, meaning there are no red X's on any of the files. I can build the project outside of Eclipse, deploy it to the device, and it runs just fine, so I know there isn't a problem with my source code or layouts. The strange thing is when I remove the 'src' folder from the build path in Eclipse, clean and build the project, then re-add the 'src' folder to the build path and build the project it works again. However, within a few changes it gives me the same problem. Has anyone else encountered this before? Does anyone know of a solution? It's driving me mad! Thanks, -Dan

    Visual Studio 2010 has no longer uses .vsprops files and instead uses .props files. To add a .vsprops file to a Visual Studio 2008 project, one could right-click the project icon in the Solution Explorer panel, choose Properties, go to the Configuration Properties | General section, and modify the Inherited Project Property Sheets property to contain a list of .vsprops paths. One could also modify the Visual Studio 2008 project file directly. Is there a way in the Visual Studio 2010 GUI to add .props files to a project? The Inherited Project Property Sheets property seems to have been removed. If manual editing of the project file is the only way to include .props files, where can one find documentation on doing it?

  • How do I add a reference to a Web Application Project in an Associated Class Library?

    I'm working on an internet application that has been set up as a web SITE project (I know...) in Visual Studio. I need to add additional features/functionality so have added a class library to the project and referred to it in the main web site project. The issue now arises because I need to make use of core objects which live inside the App_Code directory in the web site project but this project doesn't appear to expose its DLL like web app/ code library projects do. Because of this I can't add a reference to the web site project in the class library to leverage the common site-wide code/objects. I can't move the stuff out of App_Code so I'm looking for a way to refer to the website project dll from the new class library. Can anyone suggest a workaround? All help v. gratefully received :-)

    I have a project with it depends on another project Core, i use svn:external to maintain the dependency. when i go to create an update of my project, i export those changed files of two tags of my project, but the changed files in Core won't be exported. For example, my project 2.0 depends on Core 1.0, where 3.0 depends on Core 2.0, then i create an update, changed files of my project 3.0 will all be exported, but none of those in Core 2.0 This can be done thru a two-steps process, first export changed files of the project 3.0, then the Core 2.0, it is ok if i can remember it everytime when i create an update, but in case i forget someday, the broken update will most probably cause a crash. I wonder, is there a way to cover this situation in TortoiseSVN, will let me do it in one operation?

  • Project Reference added to one of the projects in the same solution appears broken in another solution

    I have couple of solutions. In the first solution I have many projects. One of the project named 'A' has a project reference of another project 'B' of the same solution. In second solution, the project 'A' is added but not the project 'B'. Both the solutions build successfully. However, in second solution, reference of B added in the project A, appears broken. Why? Now, in first solution, instead of adding Project reference of B into A, i simply add a 'file reference' of B's DLL (which is copied at the common output directory created for all the projects) into A. Now the reference appears broken in both the solution even though both the solutions are built successfully. May I know what should I do when I have such a scenario?

  • PXE-E32 TFTP Open Timeout While Attempting to PXE Boot from Windows Deployment Services

    I'm running Windows Deployment Services on Windows Server 2008 R2 on top of an ESX 4.0 box. This is the only function of this VM instance, although it had previously functioned as an AD Domain Controller. My DHCP server is running on our primary Domain Controller, which is also Server 2008 R2, but running on metal. Everything was working perfectly until we recently had our backup generator fail during a power outage, causing all of our servers and networking equipment to lose power for a period of time. When we brought all of our equipment back up, everything was working as expected except for WDS. Our network is split up into several different vlans. Now, depending on which vlan the client computer is on, it's behaving differently when attempting to PXE boot into WDS. Our servers are located on the 10.55.x.x vlan, which, due to the nature of it, has no DHCP server active in it. The first computer we plugged in happened to be in the 10.99.x.x vlan, which is supposed to be reserved for network management devices (i.e. switches), but we've been using it occasionally otherwise. That computer gave us PXE-E11 ARP Timeout errors. When we moved to a different computer on the 10.19.x.x vlan (for general purpose use), it finally gets an IP from DHCP, but it presents us with a very stumping PXE-E32 TFTP Open Timeout error. Before the power outage, it didn't matter which vlan a device was on; it would PXE boot and image just fine. I've made no changes to anything server-side. Everything is configured exactly the same way it was on my WDS and DHCP servers as before the power outage. I've tried several different computers, including different models. All of this, combined with the quirky behavior depending on the vlan, makes me think something went wrong in one or more of our switches, probably because of the power outage. Unfortunately, I'm no network guy, and I know very little about how to configure our switches properly. Is this an issue with switches, etc? If so, how can I fix it? Is there some magical option I'm not aware of? Does anybody out there have any hunches? I've pretty much exhausted my ideas. Our main switch is an HP Procurve 5406. We also have 3x HP Procurve 4208 switches. The ESX Server is an HP ProLiant DL380 G6. The WDS VM is currently using the VMXNET3 network adaptor, but we've also tried the E1000 adaptor.

    Core of the problem: I receive "(0x80070002) The system cannot find the file specified" for roughly 8 to 9 seconds before it can open it successfully. In a nutshell, we have two COM components. Component A calls into Component B and asks for a UNC filename to write to - the filename returned doesn't exist yet, but the path does - it then does its work, creates and populates the file, and tells Component B its done by making another com call. At that point Component B will call MoveFile to rename the file to its "official" name. This code has worked for (literally) years. Its works fine on win2k3. Its works fine when its running on win2k8 and points to a share on a win2k3 server. It also runs fine, if the share is actually located on the same win2k8 machine that the code is running on. But if you run it on win2k8 and point it to a share on a different win2k8 server, it fails. Both Component A & component B exist in their own Windows Service running with as a domain admin account. The shares are configured for "Everyone/Full control" in all test environments, similarly so are the underlying folders that the share points to. All machines are in the same domain. During debugging I realized the file actually does exist by the time I get to checking manually for it - after several iterations it occurred to me that the file doesn't "show up" until some delay passes by - so I put in the loop below in component B as shown below: int nCounter = 0; while (true) { CFileStatus fs; if (CFile::GetStatus(tempname, fs)) break; SleepEx(100, FALSE); nCounter++; } This code does, in fact, exit and nCounter is generally between 80 & 90 iterations when it does -- indicating the file "appears" approx 8 to 9 seconds later. Once that loop exits the code can successfully rename the file and all further processing appears to work. I put a CFile::GetStatus in component A immediately before it calls into Component B and that indicates success - it can see the file and get its true size yet the call into component b made immediately after can not see the file until the above indicated delay passes. I have verified the pathnames are precisely the same, even though it would clearly have to be for the calls to eventually succeed after a pause of 8 to 9 seconds... When something like this occurs I always assume there is a bug in my code until proven otherwise, but given (a) this code has executed properly for a very long time and (other than my diagnostic loop added) has not changed, and (b) it works in all environments except the win2k8 - win2k8 share, I'm guessing there is some OS issue in here that i do not understand.   • RFC 1918 address on open internet?

    In trying to diagnose a failover problem with my Cisco ASA 5520 firewalls, I ran a traceroute to www.btfl.com and, much to my surprise, some of the hops came back as RFC 1918 addresses.     I am new to Eclipse and have been asked to make some changes to an RCP project. Now I can not get it to run. Unfortunately I cannot contact the author to get some help.   • Y my interface is not showing when i run the project

  • Increase samba space on open suse 12.1

    I know linux basics but not an expert. IT guy left the job here and there is some time before new hire. So sorry if question is very basic. We have local testing server based on Open SUSE 12.1, which also act as shared drive between dev/mgmt team here and using Samba for that. Now we are running out of space on samba, even though server's 2*1TB harddisk is nearly 90% free. My question is, what is limiting Samba and how can I increase its limit? We need around at least 500 GB as shared drive but currently its just 25 GB. I don't need step by step answer, just a link to any helpful article would be sufficient.   • .AVI Files randomly cease to open, other strange errors too

    I Recently (a couple weeks ago) downloaded the complete series of Seinfeld, all in varying file type. I Watched them in sequence according to season and to airing date, and all was well. All of the files played fine with my media player of choice ("BS Player"), and once I had finished, I went onto watch some other TV I had previously downloaded (The U.S. Series of "The Office"), and after then, some other film and then some music, over the following weeks (keep in mind all of these files are all on the same Hard Drive). Later then, More recently, I Went back to watching Seinfeld. The episodes played well as they did before- with the exclusion of a few in Season 7. I Have not tested all of the episodes in the season, but upon inspection, the majority of them are experiencing this problem; the problem being simply that they don't open! BS Player says that the files are either damaged or that the codecs to play the files are not on my computer-- however I am certain that the files DO have the codecs, and I am pretty sure that they are NOT DAMAGED either. I Have played the files with other players (such as VLC, Media Player Classic, and Windows Media Player), too, only to the same result; of them not opening. Seemingly the only way that I can differentiate between a damaged file and a non-damaged file are the way that the icon shows in Windows Explorer. For example, the below image is how explorer shows the information of a file that is non-damaged... ...and below is how a damaged file appears... The most disturbing and confusing part of this, though, is the last episode in the season- It opens, but not as a video- Instead, as a 1 Hour, 16 Minute, and 35 Second Audio file! The file plays a song for the first 4 or so minutes, and then is pretty much silent (except for some extremely quiet noise) until the last minute or so, when a random array of chopped up sounds and beeping noises play. I Do not recognise the song at the beginning of the file, but by the sounds of it, it is a song by the artist "Mr. Oizo," who's complete works I downloaded a couple weeks before now; and a bit before then I had finished downloading season 9 (not affected by these problems) of Seinfeld. I'd also like to note that the file I told of earlier (which played audio instead of video) reads as the same size as the other files in the season (around 175 MB) and also opens as a video clip. I Have NEVER experienced any of these problems in the past, and they seem to be only effecting the one season of my downloaded TV. The problems have not arisen with any of the other files on my Hard Drive, or any of the files downloaded around the time or after the time of which I downloaded season 7 of Seinfeld- or at least to my noticing. I Use the hard drive these files are located on almost every day, so could that be the cause of these problems? Is this a sign that my HDD is soon going to die? If it helps, the HDD is a Western Digital MyBook 1.5 TB 7500 RPM. It is connected to the computer via U.S.B. 2.0. EDIT! I noticed that this problem is now occurring with Season 9 of Seinfeld- and, presumably, other files on the drive I have yet to check. Please, If you have ANY IDEA AT ALL on what may be causing this or how to fix it, do tell me!

  • Eclipse Hell . . . Failed to read the project description file (.project)

    I think Eclipse is trying to make me miserable. A couple of hours ago, my project was working and compiling well. Suddenly that all changed. Eclipse somehow wipes out all changes I have made to my files(activity, manifest etc.) I make sure to save often but when I go to run the project, I get the error that I have a build error. I checked and there was none, so I go to close Eclipse, so I can reopen and see if the errors will go away. Instead what happens is Eclipse wipes clean all my files and I end up with a project on disk with lots of blank code files. I try to run anyway, and I get the error message below. Failed to read the project description file (.project) for 'com.example.android.nfc.simulator.FakeTagsActivity.FakeTagsActivity'. The file has been changed on disk, and it now contains invalid information. The project will not function properly until the description file is restored to a valid state. Anyone have an idea what in the world this is about and how I can rectify this?

  • Edit TabControl template in Silverlight project

    I'm trying to modify the template for the TabControl in my silverlight application. I used Expression Blend to get the Template and copied it into my project. I did this before for Expander and got it to work with a few minor adjustments. The template for TabControl references the ns/assembly "clr-namespace:System.Windows.Controls.Primitives;assembly=System.Windows.Controls" and uses the TabPanel control from it. I can't seem to make a reference to this.   • JDBC Licensing - Packaging jdbc in jar

    Hi there. I'm packaging my open-source non-commercial java application in a .jar and I'd like to package the JDBC mysql-connector with it as it is a dependency. The issue that I am having is that I'm uncertain whether or not this is frowned upon or even illegal due to the JDBC license. I've also got the jdbc mysql-connector jar in my code repository. -- Has anyone been in the same situation? Thanks in advance.
