  • Passing javascript form variables into jQuery function not working

    I am trying to pass some JavaScript variables that I have assigned to form variables into a query string used by a jQuery plug in called fancybox.     Hi, I have been using php from some time and I have noticed that it takes a long time to create a form with validation using php. Are there any scripts or IDE wizards which can assist a programmer to create php forms quickly and also give the programmer flexibility to customize the form easily? I found some webservices which provide such services but they are mostly oriented towards non-programmers and the forms they generate are not easily customizable and do not support all kinds of functionalities.     I am currently playing around with jqueries drag and drop, basically I currently have a div (.drag_check) that holds a checkbox, I have the drag and drop working but I want to alert out the checkbox's ID once the element is dropped, I assume I have to use child but all my attempts have returned 'undefined'.   • Gridview with row being edited causing error when form submitted

    Using ASP.NET VB, I have a form with some text boxes and a Gridview. If a user clicks the Edit button on a row in the gridview, and then tries to submit the form with a row still in edit mode on the Gridview, this error is generated - "Invalid postback or callback argument. Event validation is enabled using in configuration or <%@ Page EnableEventValidation="true" % in a page. For security purposes, this feature verifies that arguments to postback or callback events originate from the server control that originally rendered them. If the data is valid and expected, use the ClientScriptManager.RegisterForEventValidation method in order to register the postback or callback data for validation. " Any idea how to prevent this error??

  • MooTools Problem in IE with Request

    I have this class method in a mootools class: getData : function(){ var r = new Request.JSON({ url : this.container.getAttribute('data-url'), method : 'post', onSuccess : function(j){ this.cards = j; this.prepareQuiz(); }.bind(this) }).send(); }, In any browser aside from IE this works fine, but in IE I get a this.cards is not defined in a method that occurs after the this.prepareQuiz method does it's stuff. I narrowed the problem to this section by adding an if ($defined(this.cards)) before the this.prepareQuiz call and if I just keep refreshing the page 1 out of every 5 or so times it will work. So the this.cards variable is not being set some of the time for some reason. Why would this happen?

I need to serialize the group name, as well as the group_item's Id and name as JSON and pass back to javascript.     I'm creating a site for a local retail shop using Drupal. Everything's been going very smoothly up until this current bit. It's a comic shop, and I want to make a place where people can manage their own subscriptions. Since the number of different titles a customer subscribes to can vary pretty widely, I want a way to make a completely dynamic form, with people able to add as many new lines as they need and I'm really struggling with Drupal's documentation.     Hello, I have a little issue concerning an animation-effect which loads a certain div into the body of the site. Let me be more precise: I have a div with the id 'contact': <div id="contact">content</div> The jquery code loads the contents within that div, when I press the link with the id 'ajax_contact': <a href="#" id="ajax_contact">link</a>. The code is working perfectly. However, I want #contact to be HIDDEN when the site loads, i.e. the default state must be non-visible. Only when the user clicks the link #ajax_contact, the div must appear.     Hi All, I am making a small form for a php app and had a question regarding javascript validation. What is the best event to run the javascript validation on the input value? Is it the "focusout" event? I used "focusout" to originally but it creates problems when the user hits enter while they are still focused on any particular field in the form. Should I run the js validation when the user clicks submit? Just looking for some advice. Thanks! Chuck

    Alright so I have a php script which gets results from a DB, and to get those results I'm using a jQuery script to pull the results via getJSON. It works perfectly but now I want to do something if the php script returns no results (empty). I tried: $.getJSON('path/to/script'), {parameter:parameter}, function(data){ if (data) { alert('Result'); } else { alert('Empty); } }); But it's no good. I've tried different things like if (data.length) but still nothing. I've noticed that if there is no returned data the callback will never fire at all. So if that's the case, how do I handle a empty return?

So far here's my code $info = array('test title','1234','virginia','@'.realpath('e:\wamp\www\1.jpg'),'@'.realpath('e:\wamp\www\2.jpg'),'@'.realpath('e:\wamp\www\3.jpg'),'@'.realpath('e:\wamp\www\4.jpg'),'test description'); $post->postAd($url, $info); The $info array is processed in the postAd method and it's being sent as an associative array using a method from a Curl class i have (it has been tested and worked nicely with everything i needed to do so far with curl). The problem is that the data is completed correctly on the form but the images are not uploaded. Can anyone help with advices/code/guidance?

But then when I press Enter again (in address bar) my doGet method gets called. What is wrong? I am using JEE eclipse and Tomcat

  • Why does Firefox + My code Destroys FireFox refresh

    I am soo angry right now. I lost hours and i dont know why this happens. Its a semi rant but i'll try to keep it short My code would not work, even after refreshing it was broken I fixed my code or so i thought because it stops working without me changing anything (you would think i am imagining this...) I somehow decide to make a new window or tab i run my code and verifies it works. I write more code and see everything is broken again I write test in a new window and see my code does work I see my code doesnt work and firebug DOES NOT HELP I notice when i create a new tab everything works I realize refreshing does not work and i MUST make a new tab for my code to work. Then i knew instantly what the problem was. I modify a display:none textbox but i set the values incorrectly. I cant see it because it is hidden. Now some of you might say its my fault because when doing a refresh all of the data may be cache. But here is the kicker. I was using POST data. I posted in between of the refresh each and everytime. Whats the point of using POST when the same data is cached and use anyways? If theres no chance for a search engine to follow a block user get link then why should i bother making anything post when security or repeat actions are not an issue? POST didnt seem to do anything.

The way I've been able to write custom form fields and widgets is by reading the Django source code and imitating what I see there. I know that there are still things about implementing fields and widgets that I do not completely understand because I have not read any high level document that describes their interfaces.

    Hey everyone. I've written this simple function that is supposed to load a portion of an XML file on mouseenter. It works fine when I specify the data source explicitly, shown below. I have a number of '.invest-port-thumb' divs, each with a unique link. The following code works fine—but it loads the whole XML file—and I only want a portion: $(document).ready(function() { $('.invest-port-thumb a').mouseenter(function() { $('#slider-name').load(this.href); }); }); This code also works fine—loading only the 'cName' portion that I want it to load...Except that this code refers to one of the files, instead of the value of this.href. $(document).ready(function() { $('.invest-port-thumb a').mouseenter(function() { $('#slider-name').load('port/atd.xml cName'); }); }); I guess what I'm saying, syntax wise—How can I combine this.href and the data matching cName? Thanks for the help!

  • JQuery .load() function silently fails when offline

    I'm trying to write an iPhone offline webapp using jqtouch/jquery. When I disable my connectivity, it looks like the jquery .load() function silently fails and doesn't even call its callback function. I've set $.ajaxSetup ({cache: true}); but it seems to have no effect. I also have my manifest file etc. working fine - the only issue is the .load() function. Any ideas?
