Alternating links and slide down content on a list of sub sections

I have a page for a doctor's practice. In the summary page for the practice there is a list of subsections such as Women's, Men's, Children, Sport, etc. Some of these sub sections are very large, others can be a paragraph or more with a short unordered list. In terms of content volume, the large subsections warrant their own separate page, the smaller one's not so much. I created a little plugin which enables me to use the list of subsections in 2 ways. When clicking on the title of a larger section, you'll be sent through to it's own page. For the smaller sections, a slide down box will open with the information. Is this a good way to handle my information architecture? Should I be giving the smaller sub sections their own page for SEO purposes?

New domain and submission to search engines

I have registered a new domain with a hosting company. They offer the feature that for each new domain there is an associated placeholder page. Actually it is a "Site not configured page" with some technical text and links to the hosting site. I could: submit its URL to search engines right now remove the page and submit the URL when the site will be online (could be a couple of months) replace the default page with "coming soon" contents and submit the URL opt for simplicity and add a blank html page having a focused and well descriptive title and maybe some meta tag other? I prefer 4 over 3 because at the moment there aren't precise project details to provide. What's the proper way to notify search engines that soon this site will be online, without getting penalized for side effects I'm not considering or aware of?

Why is this PHP loop rendering every row twice?

I'm working on a real frankensite here not of my own design. There's a rudimentary CMS and one of the pages shows customer records from a MySQL DB. But everything looks ok to me. You'll notice that the customer name is clickable; clicking takes you to another page where you can view their full info as held in the DB - and for both rows, the customer ID is identical, and manually checking the DB shows there's no duplicate entries. The code is definitely rendering each row twice, but for what reason I have no idea. All pointers / advice appreciated.

Android - Autocomplete with contacts

I've created an AutoCompleteTextView box that displays the names of all contacts, but after looking in the Android APIs, it seems my method is probably quite inefficient. Currently I am grabbing a cursor of the all the contacts, placing each name and each contact id into two different arrays, then passing the name array to the AutoCompleteTextView. When a user selects an item, I lookup which ID the contact selected in the second id array created above. How do I change the URL for the wordpress author archive page?

Instead of www.example.com/author/xyz, I want to use www.example.com/artist/xyz. I was hoping it was as easy as copying author.php to artist.php in my theme directory, but no such luck. Where does wordpress handle the special processing for the author archive pages? .htaccess rewriting is another option, but I wasn't able to get anything to work with the existing wordpress rewrite rules. How do I handle the browser's "share page" intent in android?

I have placed this inside an block in my AndroidManifest.xml like so: <activity android:name=".ShareLink"> <intent-filter> <action android:name="android.intent.action.SEND" /> <category android:name="android.intent.category.DEFAULT" /> <data android:mimeType="text/plain" /> </intent-filter> <meta-data/> </activity> I cannot for the life of me get this to be triggered though. When I share a link in the android browser, the emulator log shows it's creating a chooser intent, but doesn't give the details of the intent the chooser is acting on. No chooser window pops up, and the intent gets handled by the SMS application. I have also tried kicking off the intent manually: adb shell am start -D -a android.intent.action.SEND -c android.intent.category.DEFAULT -t text/plain -d http://google.com/ but the response I get is: Starting: Intent { act=android.intent.action.SEND cat=[android.intent.category.DEFAULT] dat=http://google.com/ typ=text/plain } Error: Activity not started, unable to resolve Intent { act=android.intent.action.SEND cat=[android.intent.category.DEFAULT] dat=http://google.com/ typ=text/plain flg=0x10000000 } Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong? My main (launcher) activity works fine, so I assume there is no issue with installation on the emulator.

Using ContentProviderOperation to update and insert contacts

Hello, I faced the problem updating/insertng contacts on Android 2.0+. There is no problem to insert a new contact when phone book is empty but when I did it 2nd time some fileds like TEL, EMAIL are doubled and tripped etc. but N, FN, ORG are ok (one copy). After getting and advice of other member this forum I updated a contact first and then ContentProviderResult[] returned uri's with null then I do an insert action and it went ok but after that I made an update and all contacts are aggregated into one - i got 1 contact insted 3 which existed in phone book. This one was damaged, the contact fields are randomly built. I set Google account. Hello there, I am trying to develop a GWT app with the MVP pattern. So far so good except for one specific case of actions: actions that do not change the url (no browser history change). In the GWT MVP pattern, events are sent from presenters, the an app controller catches them and update the browser history. If the history has changed then the view updates. ** MVP with history change (Works well)** Current URL is /list User clicks on contactdelete button. Fire DeleteContactAction event. App controller catches, change history to 'delete' onValueChange is called if (token.equals("delete")) delete contact screen, then delete contact Fire ContactDeletedEvent app controller catches and change the history to list onValueChange is called: contact list refreshes GWT MVP pattern for dialog box w/o history changes ** Issue ** - I use a dialog box and I don't want to change the browser history, so here is the problem: Current URL is /list User clicks on contactdelete button. Contact is deleted Fire ContactDeletedEvent. App controller catches, change history to 'list' **onValueChange is NOT called** because url is already /list and there is no change # problem: contact list does not refresh Question: does anyone know a pattern to implement this in the context of MVP? Why doesn’t ABPersonViewController show any properties besides the name?

For some reason, ABPersonViewController is unwilling to display any properties aside from the name, no matter what properties are set for it to display. I’m unable to use the AddressBookUI controllers to let a user select a contact to display, since my UI has custom requirements, otherwise I’d go that route (as Apple does in their sample project.) ASP.NET:Integrating many pages to one using jQuery UI dialog

PageMethods security

Hi, I'm trying to 'AJAX-ify' my site in order to improve the UI experience. In terms of performance, I'm also trying to get rid of the UpdatePanel. I've come across a great article over at Encosia showing a way of posting using PageMethods. My question is, how secure are page methods in a production environment? Being public, can anyone create a JSON script to POST directly to the server, or are there cross-domain checks taking place? My PageMethods would also write the data into the database (after filtering). I'm using Forms Authentication in my pages and, on page load, it redirects unauthenticated users to the login page. Would the Page Methods on this page also need to check authentication if the user POSTs directly to the method, or is that authentication inherited for the entire page? (Essentially, does the entire page cycle occur even if a user has managed to post only to the PageMethod)? Thanks

Furthermore, everything works as expected without the first route. I have found this link http://www.codeplex.com/aspnet/WorkItem/View.aspx?WorkItemId=2033 but it wasn't very helpful. It looks like GetVirtualPath was not implemented with large collections of routes in mind. I am using ASP.Net MVC 1.0.

NHibernate HiLo generation and SQL 2005/8 Schemas

I have an issue on my hands that I've spent several days searching for an answer to no avail... We're using HiLo Id generation, and everything seems to be working fine, as long as the entity table is in the same schema as the hibernate_unique_key table. The table structure is pretty simple. I have my hi value table in the db as dbo.hibernate_unique_key. Several entity table are also in the dbo schema, and they work without issue. Then we have tables under the "Contact" schema (such as Contact.Person and Contact.Address). In the Person Mapping file: <class name="Person" table="Person" schema="Contact"> <id name="Id" unsaved-value="0"> <generator class="hilo"> <param name="max_lo">100</param> </generator> </id> ... When I try to insert a Person entity, I get an error of "Invalid object name 'Contact.hibernate_unique_key'. That error is certainly clear enough. So I add: <param name="schema">dbo</param> to my mapping file/generator element. Now, when the SessionFactory is built, I get a "An item with the same key has already been added." error. So now I'm a bit stuck. I can't leave the HiLo generator without a schema, because it picks up the schema from the Class, and I can't specify the schema because it's already been added (presumably because it's my "default_schema" as identified in my XML cfg file). Am I completely hosed here? Must I either A) Keep all my tables in the dbo schema or B) Create a separate HiLo Key table for each unique schema in the DB? Neither of those scenarios is particularly palatable for my application, so I'm hoping that I can "fix" my mapping files to address this issue.

ContactsContract.CommonDataKinds.Relation does not show in Contacts app

I programatically added almost every type of contact field to a contact and they all work except for Relation. Relation types get added to the contacts database, but they don't show up in the Contacts app. I don't see a way to add Relation information through the Contacts GUI for a standard Gmail contact either. Does the Contacts app just not support this data type?

Spring security annotations with EL -- requires debug information compiled in?

I am considering using Spring Security annotations for my application, with the EL (expression language) feature. For example: @PreAuthorize("hasPermission(#contact, 'admin')") public void deletePermission(Contact contact, Sid recipient, Permission permission); I need the EL capability because I have built my own ACL implementation. However, to use this capability with the "#contact" type arguments, the Spring documentation says this: You can access any of the method arguments by name as expression variables, provided your code has debug information compiled in. This begs two questions: It is acceptable to have a production application commercially distributed with debug info in it? If not, is there any way around this? Thanks for any guidance on this!

How can I make the modal popup scroll its contents with the page?

I've got a modal popup and when it loads contents that are taller than the browser height I am unable to scroll down to view the rest of the information. Instead the background can scroll but the popup won't. Instead I'd like to have the popup stay put and when the user scrolls up or down it leave the popup in place and let them scroll to the bottom of the contents. If you make a super long post on Facebook the popup works correctly and I'd like to know how I can get this same effect with this control.
