  • Search desktop files using a list of keywords stored in a text file

    - by Tod1d
    I have a list of 1285 keywords (database object names) that I have compiled into a TXT file; one keyword per line. I would like to search a directory of files (most have a .aspx or .cs extension) using this list of keywords. My main goal is find out which of the 1285 database objects are being referenced in these files. Can anyone recommend a tool that could accomplish this? Otherwise, I will just create my own. Thanks.

  • minifying patched javascript files

    - by Stacia
    I'm writing a Rails app and I've partially integrated in this nice little patch to the in line ajax editor: http://inplacericheditor.box.re/ The problem is, on that page I have tinymce, prototype and scriptaculous included. In Firefox at least there's a big lag when all this stuff is loading. I was hoping to fix it by compressing the files so I checked out a plugin for rails called Smurf. It seemed to do what it was supposed to do nicely, but it choked on the little patch files that are included with the Ajax editor thing. THe patch files look like this: Object.extend(Ajax.InPlaceEditor.prototype, { handleAJAXFailure: function(transport) Alternatively, should I just be catching them instead of worrying about minfying them? I know I'm running on development and that Apache would maybe be handling serving the js files differently..It just seems like a lot of things to serve on one page.

  • Same memory space being allocated again & again

    - by shadyabhi
    In each loop iteration, variable j is declared again and again. Then why is its address remaining same? Shouldn't it be given some random address each time? Is this compiler dependent? #include<stdio.h> #include<malloc.h> int main() { int i=3; while (i--) { int j; printf("%p\n", &j); } return 0; } Testrun:- shadyabhi@shadyabhi-desktop:~/c$ gcc test.c shadyabhi@shadyabhi-desktop:~/c$ ./a.out 0x7fffc0b8e138 0x7fffc0b8e138 0x7fffc0b8e138 shadyabhi@shadyabhi-desktop:~/c$

  • SFTP sending files between laptops on Ubuntu

    - by twigg
    I want to transfer files between two Ubuntu systems using SFTP. I have got it set-up and I can connect to the other laptop, ping it and see its file list using sftp> dir. I can see the files on the other system. But when I call get filename.deb it comes up saying Fetching /home/user/filename.deb to filename.deb 0% 0 0.0KB/s --:-- ETA and then drops back to the sftp command promote without transferring anything. Have I missed something?

  • c++ macros with memory?

    - by anon
    Is it possible to define macros write_foo(A); and read_foo(); so that: WRITE_FOO(hello); code_block_1; READ_FOO(); code_block_2; READ_FOO(); WRITE_FOO(world); code_block_3; READ_FOO(); code_block_4; READ_FOO(); expands into: code_block_1; hello; code_block_2; hello; code_boock_3; world; code_block_4; world; ? Thanks!

  • Perl, FastCGI and writing uploaded files

    - by ibogdanov
    My upload function looks like: sub Upload_File{ my ($file, $mime, $description) = @_; my $file_name = param('filename'); my $data; $file = UnTaint($file); if ($mime =~ /text/) { sysopen(VAULT, "$path/$file", O_RDWR | O_EXCL | O_CREAT | O_TEXT) or die "couldn't create $file for R/W: $!\n"; } else { sysopen(VAULT, "$path/$file", O_RDWR | O_EXCL | O_CREAT | O_BINARY) or die "couldn't create $file for R/W: $!\n"; } my $upfh = \*VAULT; flock $upfh, 2; seek $upfh, 0, 0; select((select($upfh), $| = 1)[0]); while( sysread($file_name, $data, 8192) ) { syswrite($upfh, $data, 8192) or die "couldn't write $upfh: $!\n"; } close $upfh; } When I am using read and print with FastCGI upload script, files uploaded with corruptions (including simple text files), this is because perl uses buffered I/O. But when I use syswrite and sysread i.e. non-buffered I/O, as a result I get good text files, but binary files are corrupted anyway.

  • Zip multiple database PDF blob files

    - by Michael
    I have a database table that contains numerous PDF blob files. I am attempting to combine all of the files into a single ZIP file that I can download and then print. Please help! <?php include '../config.php'; include '../connect.php'; $session = $_GET['session']; $query = "SELECT $tbl_uploads.username, $tbl_uploads.description, $tbl_uploads.type, $tbl_uploads.size, $tbl_uploads.content, $tbl_members.session FROM $tbl_uploads LEFT JOIN $tbl_members ON $tbl_uploads.username = $tbl_members.username WHERE $tbl_members.session = '$session'"; $result = mysql_query($query) or die('Error, query failed'); $files = array(); while(list($username, $description, $type, $size, $content) = mysql_fetch_array($result)) { $files[] = "$username-$description.pdf"; } $zip = new ZipArchive; $zip->open('file.zip', ZipArchive::CREATE); foreach ($files as $file) { $zip->addFile($file); } $zip->close(); header('Content-Type: application/zip'); header('Content-disposition: attachment; filename=filename.zip'); header('Content-Length: ' . filesize($zipfilename)); readfile($zipname); exit(); ?>

  • XCode - Automatically add all files in a folder to a target

    - by Akshay
    In XCode, is there a way to specify that all files in a folder are compiled by a target. Eg. the 'Test' target automatically compiles all files in the 'Tests' folder, whereas the 'App' target compiles everything in the 'Sources' folder. Today, the way I'm doing it, is to add a file to a target everytime I create it. This feels a bit error prone and redundant since the files are already organized in the correct folders. Thanks.

  • List files recursively and sort by modification time

    - by Problemaniac
    How do I list all files under a directory recursively and sort the output by modification time? I normally use ls -lhtc but it doesn't find all files recursively. I am using Linux and Mac. ls -l on Mac OS X can give -rw-r--r-- 1 fsr user 1928 Mar 1 2011 foo.c -rwx------ 1 fsr user 3509 Feb 25 14:34 bar.c where the date part isn't consistent or aligned, so a solution have to take this into account. Partial solution stat -f "%m%t%Sm %N" ./* | sort -rn | head -3 | cut -f2- works, but not recursively.

For some reason outlook the clients are still accessessing the old .pst not for (email, address books ,calendars). I have removed an account with no adverse effect as a test. But can any one tell me why outlook is still accessing the old .pst, as I was going to delete all the old .pst files until they all had todays timestamp on.

  • Set argument pointer to point to new memory inside a function (without returning it) IN C

    - by user321605
    Hello, Hopefully my title was descriptive enough to attract the right help. I want to write a function that will return 1 thing, and modify a provided pointer in another. My current function declaration is . . . char * afterURL replaceURLS(char * body) What I want to do is copy all of body's data into a new string, and set body to point to this new data. I then want afterURL to point to a location within the new string. My issue is getting the actual pointer that is passed in to this function to point to the new data. Thanks in advance! Rob

  • memory management: am i doing something wrong here?

    - by z s
    Hi, In a very small number of cases in my iphone app, I get a crash after the for loop in the code below: ABAddressBookRef addressBookInit = ABAddressBookCreate(); CFMutableArrayRef abContacts = (CFMutableArrayRef)ABAddressBookCopyArrayOfAllPeople(addressBookInit); // get array of all contacts CFArraySortValues (abContacts, CFRangeMake(0, CFArrayGetCount(abContacts)), (CFComparatorFunction)ABPersonComparePeopleByName, (void *)ABPersonGetSortOrdering()); NSArray *copypeople = (NSArray *) abContacts; NSMutableArray *tempTheadlist = [[NSMutableArray alloc] init]; for (int i=0; i < copypeople.count; i++) { NSAutoreleasePool *pool = [[NSAutoreleasePool alloc] init]; ABRecordRef record = [copypeople objectAtIndex:i]; if (blah blah) [tempThreadList addObject: someObject]; [pool release]; } // POINT OF CRASH AFTER LOOP ENDS if (tempTheadlist.count > 0) [NSThread detachNewThreadSelector: @selector(loading_pictures:) toTarget:self withObject:tempTheadlist]; [tempTheadlist release]; [copypeople release]; CFRelease(addressBookInit); Any reason why it should crash at any point here?

  • Performance effect of using print statements in Python script

    - by Sudar
    I have a Python script that process a huge text file (with around 4 millon lines) and writes the data into two separate files. I have added a print statement, which outputs a string for every line for debugging. I want to know how bad it could be from the performance perspective? If it is going to very bad, I can remove the debugging line. Edit It turns out that having a print statement for every line in a file with 4 million lines is increasing the time way too much.

  • Share files and catelog them across a server

    - by Ultan
    Hi all, here is what I am looking for, I use a number of software packages when creating online learning courses. I have a huge number of courses and they use text, audio files, images and video files. I am looking for somthing that I can install on our server and upload the content, index, tag and categorise and enter a description so that when a screen print has to be changed for example I can find all the places that I used the image so that I can go in and change the image without having to check every file that I have created over the last year. An open source solution would be great or something that isn't to expensive. Thank you for any suggestions you can make.

  • Send files between python+django and C#

    - by SuitUp
    Hi, i would like to know, what is the best way to send files between python and C# and vice versa. I have my own protocol which work on socket level, and i can send string and numbers in both ways. Loops works too. With this i can send pretty much anything, like package of users id, if it is simple data. But soon i will start sending whole files, maybe xml or executables. Simple server with files is no an option because i want sending files from client too. I was thinking about serialization but i don't know it is the best solution, but if it is i will love some tips from stackoverflow community. EDIT: I added django to question and chose using http.

  • How do I build (get/download) time.h library?

    - by coffeenet
    I am trying to build a project on Linux via Makefile. I keep getting cannot find <sys/time.h> error. I asked around, and I was told that my project doesn't have access to library folders. Therefore, I am trying to solve this problem by using the time library locally inside my project's folder. I am very new to Linux. So, please forgive my question if it sounds naive. I found this, but I don't know what files I need, and how to build the library. http://sourceware.org/git/?p=glibc.git;a=tree;f=time;h=c950c5d4dd90541e8f3c7e1649fcde4aead989bb;hb=master Where can I find the time.h library/package? How do I build the library?

  • A nuts and bolts reference to C# performance and memory use

    - by phil
    I wonder if anyone could point me in the direction where I can read about the nuts and bolts of C#. What I'm interested in learning are method call costs, what it costs to create objects and such. My aim of learning this is to get a better understanding of how increase the performance of an application and get a better understanding of how the C# language works. The reference should preferable be a book, a book that I can read cover to cover.
