    i want to install phusion passenger together with ruby enterprise edition on x86_64 SMP ubuntu 10.04. the recommended option seems to be apache2-mpm-worker but when i run passenger-install-apache2-module the installation routine of phusion passenger complains To install Apache 2 development headers: Please run apt-get install apache2-prefork-dev as root. why do we need prefork-dev here, if we clearly want to run passenger with mpm-worker apache2? any suggestions? is there a worker-dev package?

  • Why use "DLLSelfRegister" in VB deployment package?

    Why would you use DLLSelfRegister in a VB deployment package? I am trying to sort out possible conflict problems with a calendar control: msacal70.ocx. Apparently there is a conflict with newer Office calendar controls. I noticed the setup.lst for the VB deployment package uses DLLSelfRegister for this control. What are the effects of allowing a DLL to self-register and would removing DLLSelfRegister cause the ocx to register during installation of the package?

  • Where are the TweetDeck settings-files located in (ubuntu-) linux?

    Hi Everybody, i'm running Windows as well as Ubuntu and like to sync both tweetdeck installations via dropbox. Therefore i need to locate two files: td_26_[username].db preferences_[username].xml I found them on windows under the folder c:\Users[account]\AppData\Roaming\TweetDeckFast.[random string]\Local Store\ But i can't find them on my ubuntu installation.   • Program compiled with MSVC 9 won't start on a vanilla SP3 XP

    I installed XP on a virtual machine, updated it to SP3 and then tested a small program compiled with Visual C++ 2008 on my real computer - however it didn't start but outputted only an error saying that a problem had been detected and that a reinstall of the application (mine is 10KB in size and doesn't even have an installation) could fix the problem. What is required to run programs compiled with MSVC 9? Can I just include some dlls for it to work everywhere?

    phing 2.4.1 (current stable version) doesn't have an SSH Task to do remote scripting. In the current trunk version, there is a SSH Task that we would like to use. How can I upgrade my current phing installation (2.4.1) to the latest build? Can I use pear for that without breaking my current phing install? Or would it be better to download only the SSH Task and add that file manually to the stable phing install?

After some user accounts have been deleted in AD we're faced a lot of issues while importing the organisation to another server stating that there are issues with the user mapping.     In the installation instructions for Yii it is nescessary to use console and command line utility - yiic. Well, on my shared hosting I don't have ssh access. This is why I have following questions: How often and for what reasons will I have to use console? Is there a way to avoid using yiic?     In my drupal installation I can get the offset from UTC in seconds to the timezone I specified in the admin panel using variable_get('date_default_timezone', 0) However, now that we have daylight-saving-time, the time I get is always off by one hour. Is there a way to retrieve the actual timezone string from Drupal, as "Europe/Berlin" for example? The reason is, that I have to use this with Zend Framework's Zend_Date, but Drupal does not set the PHP default timezone, as echo date_default_timezone_get(); gives me System/Localtime.

Everytime we upgrade the software, we need to manually edit the various configuration files and add 3rd party libraries that we use in the current version of the software. Creating patches for the configuration files changes are fine, but how do I add 3rd party libraries (binaries) to a Mercurial patch? Is it even possible?

    Hi, We are working on a Windows Mobile 6.5 application. The application is already installed in some devices, and we need to distribute a new version with changes in the database schema (we added a few tables). Is there a way to make a "patch" windows mobile installer that will replace the application and update the embedded SQL database with some scripts? In a normal windows installer we would create a custom action in the installation process to apply the changes in the database, but I'm not sure how to do that for Windows Mobile Thanks.

    I need to make the "WE8EBCDIC500" character set available in an Oracle XE installation (on my desktop) to import a mainframe-generated file. Running SELECT value FROM v$nls_valid_values WHERE parameter='CHARACTERSET' does not show this character set to be installed and I get KUP-03006: error initializing handle for character set WE8EBCDIC500 when attempting to use it.   • Can't convert the PocketPC project in Visual Studio 2010 project format

    Just downloaded the Visual Studio 2010 Premium and realized that can't compile the project, made for PDA! The error log in output window says: Loading D:\Work...\PDA2.csproj ... D:\Work...\PDA2.csproj : error : The project file 'D:\Work...\PDA2.csproj' cannot be opened. The project type is not supported by this installation. I want to know if mobile development projects are supported in RTM version or they are deprecated?
