    I am using the negative-text-indent technique I learned to show a text-image to the user, while hiding the corresponding actual text. This way the user sees the fancy styled text while search engines can still index it. However I am started to think this sounds like cloaking since I am serving different content to the user vs the spider. However, I am not using this in a deceitful way. Plus it seems like this is a popular technique. So is it SEO-safe or is it cloaking? Thanks!

    I have the following: <div id="hp_imgs"> <img src="/images/hp/1.jpg"> <img src="/images/hp/2.jpg"> <img src="/images/hp/3.jpg"> <img src="/images/hp/4.jpg"> <img src="/images/hp/5.jpg"> <img src="/images/hp/6.jpg"> <img src="/images/hp/7.jpg"> <img src="/images/hp/8.jpg"> </div> The images were sized when created to form a grid of sorts, so need to be in the order where they are. Consequently, when/if the page is resized I want the images to resize and stay where they are. Here's what I'm trying but images are simply staying the same size and not resizing: #hp_imgs { width:66%; float:left; } #hp_imgs img { float:left; margin:2px; border-radius:4px; display: block; max-width:100%; height:100%; } Is there a better/different way to achieve this?     I am generating pipes in my list using pseudo-classes and it works fine except they are not being rendered in IE 7. The code looks like: .brandLinks a:after { margin: 0 4px; content: "|"; } .brandLinks a:last-child:after { content: " " } Is this just something IE 7 does not do or is my code wonky?

  • Text Wrapping differences in IE7, IE8, and FF

    When I have this <table> below, the text wraps as needed in FF and IE8, but when I run this in compatibility mode or IE7 the text does not wrap and the width of the previous is basically ignored. Any way to get around this?   • Div that should take up the "rest of the page" expands beyond the page in ie.

    Okay, this is REALLY starting to bug me... This page works fine in both Chrome and Firefox. www.bloggan.tk But if it's opened in internet-explorer it always expands beyond the page and introduces the scrollbar no matter what the resolution of the browser is. I have NO idea what change in the html it was that cause this... Here's the blogger-template-html-source I'd REALLY appreciate if someone could help me with this. Thanks in advance! Edit: I've "solved" it for IE using javascript, but that's only temporary (i hope). The version without javascript can be seen here, so that you still will be able to know what I'm talking about. Still trying to solve it, and still hoping for someone to help me.

  • What is the correct usage of blueprint-typography-body([$font-size])?

    Recent convert to RoR and I've been using Compass w/ Blueprint to dip into the proverbial pool. Compass has been fantastic, but I've come across something strange within the Typography library. The blueprint-typography-body mixin contains the following: =blueprint-typography-body($font-size: $blueprint-font-size) line-height: 1.5 +normal-text font-size: 100% * $font-size / 16px My question revolves around "font-size." I'm a bit lost, as I would expect to pass in a font size and have that size reflected upon page load. However, in this scenario the formula seems to dictate a percentage against the default font. ie: +blueprint-typography-body(10px) //produces 7.5px off of the default font size of 12px from what I can tell. In essence, I'm curious if there is a standard to setting font size within Compass other than explicitly declaring "font-size: 10px". Note: The reason I'm leaning towards Blueprint/Compass font stylings is due to the standardization of line-heights, fonts and colors.

    I am creating a WordPress site using Artisteer and various plugins to show off some photo galleries. I have also purchased a e-commerce WordPress theme that I have included as a subdirectory. In this theme they have a share button that I like the functionality of. I want to replicate the button in the front section of the site within the gallery pages. If you click on the images in the gallery you will see a large lightbox come up. I want to add the Share button just above the navigation buttons. This is my require from a customer.   • Make HTML content area fit to viewport height?

    I just made this demo extracting out what I'm trying to accomplish: Autosize Main Content Area I want the pink/yellow area to act according to these rules: Minimum height is the size of its content (which is variable) IF content size is smaller than viewport size Otherwise minimum height is such that it adjusts to fill the window. Checking out the source to that demo, what am I missing? I feel like this is a pretty easy case that shouldn't require javascript. Any ideas?

    I've got a statusbar item that pops open an NSMenu, and I have a delegate set and it's hooked up correctly (-(void)menuNeedsUpdate:(NSMenu *)menu works fine). That said, that method is setup to be called before the menu is displayed, I need to listen for that and trigger an asynchronous request, later updating the menu while it is open, and I can't figure out how that's supposed to be done.   • How to move list items from two lists (from different areas) to one specific list by clicking the li

    I've been having some issues setting up a list of items and moving them between each other. Is it possible to have multiple lists, with a link inside each item to move it to a specified list? i.e. List of actions with a plus next to the action, click the plus and move to a specified box? Furthermore, would it be possible to then load a lightbox (code would have to be inline I'd guess) from that page and move those names to the specific list as well? Example Images Thanks much! More broad view of my efforts so far... The initial issue being that I could not use listboxes due to their being rendered natively inside each individual browser. Through listboxes I was able to set this up, but with a trigger via the code below (found on stackoverflow). While it gave me partial functionality it did not get the target I was looking for. document.getElementById('moveTrigger').onclick = function() { var listTwo = document.getElementById('secondList'); var options = document.getElementById('firstList').getElementsByTagName('option'); while(options.length != 0) { listTwo.appendChild(options[0]); } } I then moved onto jqueryui's sortable and it's ability to connect multiple, and most important, style-able lists and to be dragged between each other. This works for the side by side tables, but it does not offer the usability I was looking for overall. So, I've come to where I'm unsure as to where to move forward. While I can get around PHP, I wouldn't know where to start with this one personally. I'm open to any and all options! Thanks much!

  • Achieving a properly aligned sidebar in a DIV layout

    I'm experimenting with DIVs to align my page's contents: http://labs.pieterdedecker.be/test/test.htm As you can see, there's something wrong with the sidebar. I got the sidebar DIV to be aligned to the right of the page by doing float: right, but when the text in the sidebar stops the main area takes over the width that should be used by the sidebar. How do I fix this?
