• Is there a way to redirect ONLY stderr to stdout (not combine the two) so it can be piped to other programs

  I'm working in a Windows CMD.EXE environment and would like to change the output of stdout to match that of stderr so that I can pipe error messages to other programs without the intermediary of a file. I'm aware of the 2>&1 notation, but that combines stdout and stderr into a single stream. What I'm thinking of would be something like this: program.exe 2>&1 | find " " But that combines stdout and stderr just like: program.exe | find " " 2>&1 I realize that I could do... program 2>file type file | find " " del file But this does not have the flexibility and power of a program | find " " sort of notation. Doing this requires that program has finished with it's output before that output can be processed.

• IE 7 freezes on entering a value not in the list

  If a drop down list contains values (1,3,5,7,9). Whe the user types a 2, the drop down control freezes and when he types 3/5/7, it doesn't change. This works fine in IE6, IE 8 and FireFox. Does anyone know if this is a known issue?

• IE div shorter than 20 px?

  I can't seem to get my <div> height in IE (7) to be shorter than 20px: <div style="background: green; height: 1px;"> </div> Using the above code (both with and without html and body tags) the height of the div cannot seem to drop below a certain value (I think it is 20px). Any ideas?

• BufferedInputStream.read(byte[]) Causes problems. Anyone have this problem before?

  Hello! I've written a Java program that downloads audio files for me and I'm using BufferedInputStream. The read() function works fine but is really slow so I've tried using the overloaded version using byte[]. For some reason, the audio becomes lossy and strange after download. I'm not totally sure what I'm doing wrong so any help is appreciated! Here's the simplified, sloppy version of the code.   I some divs with forms inside of them and i do have inputs with same ids but in different divs and forms so do like this: $("divEdit form #ParentId").val(12); it works on chrome/mozilla but not on IE8 anybody knows why ?

• IE8 $('body').width() is 0 on $(window).load()

  On $(document).ready I run through a for loop twice and alert out the body's width ($('body').width();) each time through. I get a value I would expect (ex. 1092). On $(window).load I run through another for loop twice, also alerting out the body's width each time through. I get 0 the first time through (and the page looks completely blank behind the alert), and then a value I would expect the second time through (ex. 1092). This is an issue I am not able to replicate in a stripped-down example, nor any other browser (Chrome, Safari, Firefox, IE9, IE10). Does anyone have any ideas, or other things that I could test for? I am using $(window).load to cut up some divs based on their width, which is based on their font size, which is based on a webfont (which isn't necessarily loaded by the time $(document).ready fires).

• Drop down menu going under #main div background in IE 7/8/9

  Here is the link to the domain http://linenwoods.com I am working on. I am going to fit the navigation list items on the header, but when the drop down menu is implemented I'm pretty sure it'll go under the #main div like you see currently. Is there any easy way fix to this? I couldn't find anything related to this from a google search .. was hoping someone could help me out. Below is the relevant CSS .. I tried playing around with z-index with no luck as I was told IE8 renders it strangely. If you have the time please follow the link with IE and leave a response .. I am trying to be as cross-browser compatible as possible and already am at a pretty pathetic start.   I have the following code that is being used to successfully upload images: $fileName = $_FILES['file']['name']; $fileSize = $_FILES['file']['size']; $fileType = $_FILES['file']['type']; $fileTmp = $_FILES['file']['tmp_name']; list($origWidth, $origHeight) = getimagesize($fileTmp); The catch is I'm getting an 'Undefined index' on each line. I have print_r($_FILES) just before this code and each array variable exists and I've echo out varibles like $fileName and can see each has a value. Also I have put this before this code block and it makes no difference: $fileName = $fileSize = $fileType = $fileTmp = ''; Any suggestions how I can ensure these variables are defined? thankyou

• What is wrong with my gtkrc file?

  I have written following gtkrc file from some other theme gtkrc file. This theme is normal theme with buttons using pixmap theme engine. I have also given background image to GtkEntry. Problem is that, When i use this theme my buttons doesn't show text one them and my entry box does not show cursor.   I am getting this: mget: filename.xlsx: file already existst and xfer:clobber is unset error when I try to download the contents of my ftp server. Basically it is setup using cygwin. We recently upgraded the server where all of the data is downloaded to on a set schedule. The old server was Windows server 2003, and the new server is windows server 2008. I am having issues when I try to download a file that is already in the folder. The client never changes the file name, so when we go to download it from the server we get that error. Is there anything i can put in the batch files, or something for it to just force it to replace that file? Thanks in advance

  I am working with a customer to troubleshoot an error they have when trying to overwrite/"PUT" a file to our SFTP site. When the root directory is empty and they try to upload the file there is no problem but when they try to overwrite an existing file this is when the error occurs. The error they receive when trying a put command in Java Caps is: The error is: Batch SFTP eWay error when doing data transfer operation in [PUT()], message=[EOF received from remote side [Unknown cause]].|#] When they use WinSCP or FileZilla to put the file it overwrites fine with no errors. We have tried: Multiple different files Checking their SFTP user permissions Gave full access permissions to "everyone" to the user's root directory in Windows Recreating their user account Ensured no other processes are using/locking the files that are being overwriten We are using Cerberus Professional FTP server software. Any ideas of what else we could try?

  I have a windows server 2008 R2 running a couple of sites for me, while developing i usually post updates to this server. Now, i tried posting an update but it failed said it has a file in use and the error msg is as follows: "The action can't be completed because the file is open in IIS Worker Process" "Close the file and try again." I have tried stopping the site but this does not help. The site is running in the same application pool as the site that should stay online so a recycle might be breaking the running site (If this is wrong, please correct me). Question is: Is there a way to "Release" the lock that is put on the file without stopping other currently running sites?

  I'm using Ubuntu 10.10 and installed the red5-server package. I've also downloaded oflaDemo.war file from that address. First I tried to install the oflaDemo via installer, but I couldnt reach the goal. I see the .war file under the /tmp directory, I got stuck with this message: "This may take a couple minutes, please wait". After that, I put the downloaded war file into the /webapps directory and wait 10 minutes as mentioned in red5-common.xml. Unfortunately, nothing changed ... So I decided to extract war file manually. I did this: jar -xvf oflaDemo.war Ok, I see all of the unzipped content under the webapps directory, but how can I preview the demo via a web browser? However I didn't know how Sysprep worked before attempting this so it was a time-consuming nightmare (even after reviewing VMware vSphere ESXi 5's documentation)! I think I've figure out what I'm supposed to be doing, but it's still not working. The biggest problem at this point is that vSphere Client vCenter Customization Specification IP address information is not sticking when I load a Sysprep XML file with just 1 basic setting! This can only be a bug. Here is the process I'm using: PROCESS for Windows - vSphere Client Install Windows OS install VM Tools customize Windows (GPOs can be used to do this after deployment) install Applications (GPOs can be used to do this after deployment too) shutdown the VM convert the VM to a template create a custom Windows Sysprep XML answer file with desired customizations View Management Customization Specifications Manager create "New" Specification for "Target Virtual Machine OS" select Windows check "Use Custom Sysprep Answer File" (ADDS: Custom Sysprep File. KEEPS: Network (IP), Operating System Options (SID, Sysprep /generalize). REPLACES: Registration Information of Owner Name & Organization, Computer Name, Windows License (Key), Administrator Password, Time Zone, Run Once, Workgroup or Domain) name it as "VMwareCS-OS####R#x32/64w/Sysprep-TEST" (CS=Customization Specification) set Description as "Created YYYY/MM/DD by FLast" NEXT import a Sysprep answer file from secure location NEXT Custom settings NEXT click "..." box to right of "Use DHCP" set "Use the following IP settings:" for "IP Address" fill out the first 2 octets set appropriate values for other 2-3 fields set DNS server addresses OK NEXT check "Generate New Security ID (SID)" ALWAYS as template is likely a domain-member computer so it can be updated occasionally NEXT Finish View Inventory VMs and Templates right-click previously completed template Deploy Virtual Machine from this Template provide the new OS name (max15char) select inventory location NEXT select Host/Cluster (wait for validation to succeed) NEXT select Resource Pool (wait for validation to succeed) NEXT select Storage location NEXT check "Power on this virtual machine after creation" select "Customize using an existing customization specification" select desired specification select "Use the Customization Wizard to temporarily adjust the specification before deployment" NEXT NEXT Custom settings? NEXT check "Generate New Security ID (SID)" ALWAYS as template is likely a domain-member computer so it can be updated occasionally NEXT Finish Finish. • Excel cannot access the file with IIS7&Windows Serer 2008 R2(64bit)

  I have a web project(.Net4) that needs to access Excel file, but it ends up with the following error message: Error occured during file generation.Microsoft Excel cannot access the file 'D:\xx\xx\abc.xls'. There are several possible reasons: • The file name or path does not exist. (Actually it's there) • The file is being used by another program.(It cant happen) • The workbook you are trying to save has the same name as a currently open workbook. In IIS7, I use DefaultAppPool with the Identity "myservice" who's under the Group of Administrators. In the Authentication Page of my website under IIS, Anonymous Authentication was enabled and set to "Application pool identity" and ASP.NET Impersonation was disabled. After searching the solution for hours, I found the following but NONE of them work Create folder in C:\Windows\SysWOW64\config\systemprofile\Desktop. Plz refer:this Grant rights of "myservice" in Component Services. Plz refer:this One thing strange, there is nothing in the Group of IIS_IUSRS. Is that normal? Cause I remember at least two users (DefaultAppPool & Classic .Net AppPool). Plz tell me how to fix the access problem. I assume that's permission problem of IIS but I cant solve it. Thank you.
