  • Adding web reference is not generating the expected reference.cs file. Absent functions.

    I'm working with an old windows app in visual studio 2005. A webserviced referenced in the original app has 2 functions and when i peak inside the auto-generated reference.cs file I notice a couple of other functions to allow async calls have been geenrated i.e. BeginWhateverFunctionNameIsCalled and EndWhateverFunctionNameIsCalled. My problem is that I've created a new windows app and added the same web references but the Begin and End functions are not generated in my reference.cs proxy class. Anyone know whats going on?

    Hi, I have over 2000 HTML files that are now in Wordpress blog. I have the URL Map of Old_file.html and new wordpress URL. I want 301 redirect but don't want to add 2000 lines to htaccess. Can you please suggest how to accomplish this using PHP so that when there is a request for old url, the php script should lookup into the database and redirect(301) to the new URL ? Thanks.

    Hi guys. I have an NSMutableArray object(retained, synthesized as all) that is initiated just fine and I can easily add objects to it using the 'addObject:' method. But if I want to replace an object at a certain index with a new one in that NSMutableArray, it doesn't work. I need to authenticate users with their login and password. User's passwords are stored as hash generated by OLD_PASSWORD function from mysql. Is there any way to generate such hash using Ms Sql or .NET ?

    Attempting to implement a poor man's test of whether a process is still running or not (essentially an equivalent of the trivial kill(pid, 0).) Hoped to be able to simply call OpenProcess with some minimal desired access then test for either GetLastError() == ERROR_INVALID_PARAMETER or GetExitCodeProcess(...) != STILL_ACTIVE. Nice try... Running on Windows XP, as administrator: HANDLE hProc = OpenProcess(PROCESS_QUERY_INFORMATION, FALSE, pid); if (!hProc) { DWORD dwLastError = GetLastError(); } ...fails miserably with dwLastError == ERROR_ACCESS_DENIED when pid is owned by a different (not SYSTEM) user. Moreover, if pid was originally owned by a different user but has since terminated, OpenProcess also fails with ERROR_ACCESS_DENIED (not ERROR_INVALID_PARAMETER.) Do I have to use Process32First/Process32Next or EnumProcesses? I absolutely do not want to use SeDebugPrivilege. Thanks, V
