I'm using a Brother HL-2270DW printer. Troubleshooting Checked Windows's Colour Profile for printer: not set Checked available installed colour profiles: didn't see specific to this printer What doesn't work Printing it from Windows Photo Viewer Printing it from Paint.NET What works The printer's built-in self-test print page Windows's test print page Printing text from Notepad++ So the problem might be specific to: How Windows prints photos/pictures The picture How the printer prints photos/pictures

  • My monitor made a noise and is now dimmer - can I repair this myself?

    - by Ross
I have a Samsung SyncMaster T190 LCD monitor which I've had for about 5 years. It hissed slightly then went dim (readable but the top half of the screen is less bright). I'm pretty sure that after 5 years of service it's just got to the point where something's burned out, so my question is can I repair this myself, or should I just get a new monitor. I'm currently a student so self repair would be a better option if cost effective.

  • using git for media libraries

    - by mpapis
Rationale: I want to manage libraries of media files (music, images) using git, there is git-annex but it requires haskel platform - but they do not play together well (also it's quite to big dependency for me). Question: Is there any other plugin with this functionality, or possibly would it be possible to write such plugin (resources?). • How to prevent a file from accessing the internet

    - by Mehper C. Palavuzlar
There are some exe and dll files belonging to some programs on my laptop which communicate with the internet without my permission (for self-update generally). I want to prevent those files one by one from accessing the internet. I don't want to install any external firewalls. I'm using Windows 7 Home Pro and if this can be done by Windows Firewall, it's OK. I took a look at Windows Firewall but couldn't find a setting to disable file access.

  • OpenAM Membership module does not notify admin of new inactive accounts

    - by Eric Axley
I am using OpenAM to authenticate users and OpenDJ as the user directory. I have enabled the membership module that allows users to self register, but I have not found any way to notify the admin that a new account needs to be approved. This seems like something that would just be a matter of entering an admin email and configuring smtp, but I have not found anywhere to enter an email address to receive these notifications. Though I have been able to send "password reset" emails so smtp is working at least.

  • Why is the Active Directory security setting for "Write Personal Information" automatically reset?

    - by Holistic Developer
In my Small Business Server 2003 environment, I would like to be able to have users manage their own delegate permissions for their Exchange mailboxes. By default, the Outlook delegate feature will not work unless I go to the user object in Active Directory and grant Allow on "Write Personal Information" to SELF. This will work temporarily, but something seems to reset this value shortly afterword. What would cause this automatic reset?

  • How do you set the default user in Linux for file creation?

    - by Not a Name
I want to create a directory, for example: /public/all But I want it so that if you create a file in all, the owner is root, but anyone with access to the /public/all folder can delete/edit/etc the file, just not change the permissions. (I will use a self-created "setx" application to change the execute value if needed.) Reason for this, I don't want you to be able to deny other users write/read access to files in /public/all. I heard setuid on directories doesn't work for that.

I'm trying use self-signed certificate (c#): X509Certificate2 cert = new X509Certificate2(Server.MapPath("~/App_Data/myhost.pfx"), "pass"); on a shared web hosting server and I got an error: System.Security.Cryptography.CryptographicException: An internal error occurred. stack trace ends with System.Security.Cryptography.CryptographicException.ThrowCryptogaphicException(Int32 hr) +33 System.Security.Cryptography.X509Certificates.X509Utils._LoadCertFromFile(String fileName, IntPtr password, UInt32 dwFlags, Boolean persistKeySet, SafeCertContextHandle& pCertCtx) +0 System.Security.Cryptography.X509Certificates.X509Certificate.LoadCertificateFromFile(String fileName, Object password, X509KeyStorageFlags keyStorageFlags) +237 System.Security.Cryptography.X509Certificates.X509Certificate2..ctor(String fileName, String password) +131 On my dev machine it loads ok. • iPhone - UIImage Leak, CGBitmapContextCreateImage Leak

    - by bbullis21
Alright I am having a world of difficulty tracking down this memory leak. When running this script I do not see any memory leaking, but my objectalloc is climbing. Instruments points to CGBitmapContextCreateImage create_bitmap_data_provider malloc, this takes up 60% of my objectalloc. This code is called several times with a NSTimer. //GET IMAGE FROM RESOURCE DIR NSString * fileLocation = [[NSBundle mainBundle] pathForResource:imgMain ofType:@"jpg"]; NSData * imageData = [NSData dataWithContentsOfFile:fileLocation]; UIImage * blurMe = [UIImage imageWithData:imageData]; NSAutoreleasePool * pool = [[NSAutoreleasePool alloc] init]; UIImage * scaledImage = [blurMe _imageScaledToSize:CGSizeMake(blurMe.size.width / dblBlurLevel, blurMe.size.width / dblBlurLevel) interpolationQuality:3.0]; UIImage * labelImage = [scaledImage _imageScaledToSize:blurMe.size interpolationQuality:3.0]; UIImage * imageCopy = [[UIImage alloc] initWithCGImage:labelImage.CGImage]; [pool drain]; // deallocates scaledImage and labelImage imgView.image = imageCopy; [imageCopy release]; Below is the blur function. I believe the objectalloc issue is located in here. Maybe I just need a pair of fresh eyes. Would be great if someone could figure this out. Sorry it is kind of long... I'll try and shorten it. @implementation UIImage(Blur) - (UIImage *)blurredCopy:(int)pixelRadius { //VARS unsigned char *srcData, *destData, *finalData; CGContextRef context = NULL; CGColorSpaceRef colorSpace; void * bitmapData; int bitmapByteCount; int bitmapBytesPerRow; //IMAGE SIZE size_t pixelsWide = CGImageGetWidth(self.CGImage); size_t pixelsHigh = CGImageGetHeight(self.CGImage); bitmapBytesPerRow = (pixelsWide * 4); bitmapByteCount = (bitmapBytesPerRow * pixelsHigh); colorSpace = CGColorSpaceCreateDeviceRGB(); if (colorSpace == NULL) { return NULL; } bitmapData = malloc( bitmapByteCount ); if (bitmapData == NULL) { CGColorSpaceRelease( colorSpace ); } context = CGBitmapContextCreate (bitmapData, pixelsWide, pixelsHigh, 8, bitmapBytesPerRow, colorSpace, kCGImageAlphaPremultipliedFirst ); if (context == NULL) { free (bitmapData); } CGColorSpaceRelease( colorSpace ); free (bitmapData); if (context == NULL) { return NULL; } //PREPARE BLUR size_t width = CGBitmapContextGetWidth(context); size_t height = CGBitmapContextGetHeight(context); size_t bpr = CGBitmapContextGetBytesPerRow(context); size_t bpp = (CGBitmapContextGetBitsPerPixel(context) / 8); CGRect rect = {{0,0},{width,height}}; CGContextDrawImage(context, rect, self.CGImage); // Now we can get a pointer to the image data associated with the bitmap // context. srcData = (unsigned char *)CGBitmapContextGetData (context); if (srcData != NULL) { size_t dataSize = bpr * height; finalData = malloc(dataSize); destData = malloc(dataSize); memcpy(finalData, srcData, dataSize); memcpy(destData, srcData, dataSize); int sums[5]; int i, x, y, k; int gauss_sum=0; int radius = pixelRadius * 2 + 1; int *gauss_fact = malloc(radius * sizeof(int)); for (i = 0; i < pixelRadius; i++) { .....blah blah blah... THIS IS JUST LONG CODE THE CREATES INT FIGURES ........blah blah blah...... } if (gauss_fact) { free(gauss_fact); } } size_t bitmapByteCount2 = bpr * height; //CREATE DATA PROVIDER CGDataProviderRef dataProvider = CGDataProviderCreateWithData(NULL, srcData, bitmapByteCount2, NULL); //CREATE IMAGE CGImageRef cgImage = CGImageCreate( width, height, CGBitmapContextGetBitsPerComponent(context), CGBitmapContextGetBitsPerPixel(context), CGBitmapContextGetBytesPerRow(context), CGBitmapContextGetColorSpace(context), CGBitmapContextGetBitmapInfo(context), dataProvider, NULL, true, kCGRenderingIntentDefault ); //RELEASE INFORMATION CGDataProviderRelease(dataProvider); CGContextRelease(context); if (destData) { free(destData); } if (finalData) { free(finalData); } if (srcData) { free(srcData); } UIImage *retUIImage = [UIImage imageWithCGImage:cgImage]; CGImageRelease(cgImage); return retUIImage; } The only thing I can think of that is holding up the objectalloc is this UIImage *retUIImage = [UIImage imageWithCGImage:cgImage];...but how to do I release that after it has been returned? Hopefully someone can help please.

  • httpclient ssl certificate on android

    - by Mojo Risin
Hi all I have some troubles with ssl using httpclient on android i am trying to access public trusted certificate in details i want my app to trust all certificates. First i tried using this guide http://hc.apache.org/httpclient-3.x/sslguide.html on Desktop is working fine but on android i still got javax.net.ssl.SSLException: Not trusted server certificate. After searching in google i found some other examples how to enable ssl. http://groups.google.com/group/android-developers/browse_thread/thread/62d856cdcfa9f16e - Working when i use URLConnection but with HttpClient still got the exception. http://www.discursive.com/books/cjcook/reference/http-webdav-sect-self-signed.html - on Desktop using jars from apache is working but in android using included in SDK classes can't make it work. So any ideas how can i access trust public certificates on android using HttpClient

  • ERROR: Could not contact the SSO server

    - by BizTalkMama
Hi, I'm getting the following error on my dev machine when attempting to manage SSO settings: ERROR: 0xC0002A0F : Could not contact the SSO server 'SSODB'. Check that SSO is configured and that the SSO service is running on that server. The Enterprise Single Sign-On Service, RPC service, and COM+ System Application service were all started when I checked, but I gave them a restart anyway and it didn't fix the problem. I can access the SSODB through SSMS. I unconfigured SSO through BizTalk and reconfigured it (successfully). Alas, this also did not help. SSO was previously working fine. I did notice this morning upon reboot that my browser home page was reset back to our corporate site (meaning something may have been pushed to machine this morning when I signed on) but no one else on my team is experiencing the same issues. I'm not sure what to try next. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks in advance!

  • Changing CSS on the fly in a UIWebView on iPhone

    - by Shaggy Frog
Let's say I'm developing an iPhone app that is a catalogue of cars. The user will choose a car from a list, and I will present a detail view for the car, which will describe things like top speed. The detail view will essentially be a UIWebView that is loading an existing HTML file. Different users will live in different parts of the world, so they will like to see the top speed for the car in whatever units are appropriate for their locale. Let's say there are two such units: SI (km/h) and conventional (mph). Let's also say the user will be able to change the display units by hitting a button on the screen; when that happens, the detail screen should switch to show the relevant units. So far, here's what I've done to try and solve this. The HTML might look something like this: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Strict//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-strict.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" xml:lang="en-US" lang="en-US"> <head> <title>Some Car</title> <link rel="stylesheet" media="screen" type="text/css" href="persistent.css" /> <link rel="alternate stylesheet" media="screen" type="text/css" href="si.css" title="si" /> <link rel="alternate stylesheet" media="screen" type="text/css" href="conventional.css" title="conventional" /> <script type="text/javascript" src="switch.js"></script> </head> <body> <h1>Some Car</h1> <div id="si"> <h2>Top Speed: 160 km/h</h2> </div> <div id="conventional"> <h2>Top Speed: 100 mph</h2> </div> </body> The peristent stylesheet, persistent.css: #si { display:none; } #conventional { display:none; } The first alternate stylesheet, si.css: #si { display:inline; } #conventional { display:none; } And the second alternate stylesheet, conventional.css: #si { display:none; } #conventional { display:inline; } Based on a tutorial at A List Apart, my switch.js looks something like this: function disableStyleSheet(title) { var i, a; for (i = 0; (a = document.getElementsByTagName("link")[i]); i++) { if ((a.getAttribute("rel").indexOf("alt") != -1) && (a.getAttribute("title") == title)) { a.disabled = true; } } } function enableStyleSheet(title) { var i, a; for (i = 0; (a = document.getElementsByTagName("link")[i]); i++) { if ((a.getAttribute("rel").indexOf("alt") != -1) && (a.getAttribute("title") == title)) { a.disabled = false; } } } function switchToSiStyleSheet() { disableStyleSheet("conventional"); enableStyleSheet("si"); } function switchToConventionalStyleSheet() { disableStyleSheet("si"); enableStyleSheet("conventional"); } My button action handler looks something like this: - (void)notesButtonAction:(id)sender { static BOOL isUsingSi = YES; if (isUsingSi) { NSString* command = [[NSString alloc] initWithString:@"switchToSiStyleSheet();"]; [self.webView stringByEvaluatingJavaScriptFromString:command]; [command release]; } else { NSString* command = [[NSString alloc] initWithFormat:@"switchToConventionalStyleSheet();"]; [self.webView stringByEvaluatingJavaScriptFromString:command]; [command release]; } isUsingSi = !isUsingSi; } Here's the first problem. The first time the button is hit, the UIWebView doesn't change. The second time it's hit, it looks like the conventional style sheet is loaded. The third time, it switches to the SI style sheet; the fourth time, back to the conventional, and so on. So, basically, only that first button press doesn't seem to do anything. Here's the second problem. I'm not sure how to switch to the correct style sheet upon initial load of the UIWebView. I tried this: - (void)webViewDidFinishLoad:(UIWebView *)webView { NSString* command = [[NSString alloc] initWithString:@"switchToSiStyleSheet();"]; [self.webView stringByEvaluatingJavaScriptFromString:command]; [command release]; } But, like the first button hit, it doesn't seem to do anything. Can anyone help me with these two problems?

  • Orientation in a UIView added to a UIWindow

    - by Ken
OK, bear with me. I have a UIView which is supposed to cover the whole device (UIWindow) to support an image zoom in/out effect I'm doing using core animation where a user taps a button on a UITableViewCell and I zoom the associated image. The zooming is performing flawlessly, what I haven't been able to figure out is why the subview is still in portrait mode even though the device is in landscape. An illustration below: http://www.weeshsoft.com/images/IMG_0482.jpg I do have a navigation controller but this view has been added to the UIWindow directly. Signed, Baffled in Atlanta

  • Instruments memory leak iphone

    - by dubbeat
Hi, I posted this problem a few days ago but it was very muddled and my question wasnt very clear so I removed it. I've been digging around and the memory leak is still persiting. Hopefully this attempt will be clearer. First off I've run the static analyzer and it reports no memory leaks. I then ran Instruments and it pointed to a memory leak at this line of code. As far as I can see there is no memory leak. featured=[[UILabel alloc]initWithFrame:CGRectMake(130,15, 200, 15)]; //[featured setFont:[UIFont UIFontboldSystemFontOfSize:20]]; featured.font = [UIFont boldSystemFontOfSize:20]; featured.backgroundColor= [UIColor clearColor]; featured.textColor=[UIColor blackColor]; featured.text= @"Featured Promo"; [self.view addSubview:featured]; [featured release]; featured=nil; If I comment out the above code Instruments reports another memory leak in another block of code where there is no discernible leak. UIButton *populartbutton = [[UIButton buttonWithType:UIButtonTypeRoundedRect]]; populartbutton.frame = CGRectMake(112, 145, 90, 22); // size and position of button [populartbutton setTitle:@"Popular" forState:UIControlStateNormal]; populartbutton.backgroundColor = [UIColor clearColor]; populartbutton.adjustsImageWhenHighlighted = YES; [populartbutton addTarget:self action:@selector(getpopular:) forControlEvents:UIControlEventTouchUpInside]; [self.view addSubview:populartbutton]; Instruments also says Responsible Library = Core Graphics Responsible Frame = open_handle_to_dylib_path This Is the stack trace. 53 Promo start 52 Promo main /Users/..2/main.m:14 51 UIKit UIApplicationMain 50 UIKit -[UIApplication _run] 49 CoreFoundation CFRunLoopRunInMode 48 CoreFoundation CFRunLoopRunSpecific 47 GraphicsServices PurpleEventCallback 46 UIKit _UIApplicationHandleEvent 45 UIKit -[UIApplication sendEvent:] 44 UIKit -[UIApplication handleEvent:withNewEvent:] 43 UIKit -[UIApplication _reportAppLaunchFinished] 42 QuartzCore CA::Transaction::commit() 41 QuartzCore CA::Context::commit_transaction(CA::Transaction*) 40 QuartzCore CALayerLayoutIfNeeded 39 QuartzCore -[CALayer layoutSublayers] 38 UIKit -[UILayoutContainerView layoutSubviews] 37 UIKit -[UINavigationController _startDeferredTransitionIfNeeded] 36 UIKit -[UINavigationController _startTransition:fromViewController:toViewController:] 35 UIKit -[UINavigationController _layoutViewController:] 34 UIKit -[UINavigationController_computeAndApplyScrollContentInsetDeltaForViewController:] 33 UIKit -[UIViewController contentScrollView] 32 UIKit -[UIViewController view] 31 Promo -[FeaturedLevelViewController viewDidLoad] /Users/..s/FeaturedLevelViewController.m:67 // THIS IS MY CLASS WHERE THE CODE SAMPLES ABOVE ARE FROM 30 UIKit -[UILabel initWithFrame:] 29 UIKit -[UILabel _commonInit] 28 UIKit +[UILabel defaultFont] 27 UIKit +[UIFont systemFontOfSize:] 26 GraphicsServices GSFontCreateWithName 25 CoreGraphics CGFontCreateWithName 24 CoreGraphics CGFontCreateWithFontName 23 CoreGraphics CGFontFinderGetDefault 22 CoreGraphics CGFontGetVTable 21 libSystem.B.dylib pthread_once 20 CoreGraphics load_vtable 19 CoreGraphics load_library 18 CoreGraphics CGLibraryLoadFunction 17 CoreGraphics load_function 16 CoreGraphics open_handle_to_dylib_path 15 libSystem.B.dylib dlopen 14 dyld dlopen 13 dyld dyld::link(ImageLoader*, bool, ImageLoader::RPathChain const&) 12 dyld ImageLoader::link(ImageLoader::LinkContext const&, bool, bool, ImageLoader::RPathChain const&) 11 dyld ImageLoader::recursiveLoadLibraries(ImageLoader::LinkContext const&, bool, ImageLoader::RPathChain const&) 10 dyld dyld::libraryLocator(char const*, bool, char const*, ImageLoader::RPathChain const*) 9 dyld dyld::load(char const*, dyld::LoadContext const&) 8 dyld dyld::loadPhase0(char const*, dyld::LoadContext const&, std::vector<char const*, std::allocator<char const*> >*) 7 dyld dyld::loadPhase1(char const*, dyld::LoadContext const&, std::vector<char const*, std::allocator<char const*> >*) 6 dyld dyld::loadPhase3(char const*, dyld::LoadContext const&, std::vector<char const*, std::allocator<char const*> >*) 5 dyld dyld::loadPhase4(char const*, dyld::LoadContext const&, std::vector<char const*, std::allocator<char const*> >*) 4 dyld dyld::loadPhase5(char const*, dyld::LoadContext const&, std::vector<char const*, std::allocator<char const*> >*) 3 dyld dyld::mkstringf(char const*, ...) 2 dyld strdup 1 dyld malloc 0 libSystem.B.dylib malloc I'm really not too sure how to use this information to fix the problem so any guidance would be appreciated. • Install .NET 4.0 dll to the GAC

    - by Lucas
I have a visual C# 2010 express install. Built a .NET 4.0 dll that is signed. Now I need to get it into the GAC. Im on 64bit vista. Anyone know if there is a gacutil supporting the 4.0 framework yet? Any other suggestions on getting it into the GAC? I have tried drag and drop into C:\Windows\assembly, whenever I do, it appears to copy; however, it is not copied and does not produce any error message. I cannot create a setup/deployment project as it appears the express editions of visual studios do not have the ability.

  • Single Sign On with adLDAP and apache (xampp 1.7.3)

    - by cvack
I've successfully managed to connect to my Active Directory if I type in a username and password. To do this I'm using a PHP script called adLDAP. But I want my users to auto sign in if they are signed in on a computer connected to the Active Directory. If I understand things right, I need to use something called Single Sign On (SSO). I've tried searching for a tutorial on how to install this on a apache server running on windows 7, but with no luck. Could someone guide me in the right directions please? :)

  • Integrating FedEx Web Services into .Net, stuck at step 1

    - by Matt Dawdy
I'm signed up, I've downloaded sample code, I've got a WSDL...and yet I have no idea how to get this stuff into my existing .Net application. The WSDL was in a zip file, not a URL so I can't just "Add Web Reference." I've run the wsdl tool from the .Net command prompt, and it made a nice class for me...yet dropping that into my web_reference folder doesn't give me any kind of instantiatable class. I know I'm missing something stupid. Can someone point me in the right direction please?

  • Problem with openssl_get_privatekey returning false

    - by Joe Corkery
I am trying to generate a signed url for Amazon's CloudFront service but am running into problems in that the openssl_get_privatekey function appears to be returning false and I can't quite figure out why. Here is the code (PHP) that I am using: $priv_key = file_get_contents(path_to_my_pem_file); $priv_keyid = openssl_get_privatekey($privkey); Unfortunately, everytime I try this openssl_get_privatekey fails silently and I run into errors when I try to sign with openssl_sign later on. I've tried printing out the contents of $priv_key after it has been read in and it appears to be correct. I'm running this on RHEL 5.4 using PHP 5.2.13. I've confirmed that file pem file is readable and I've also run dos2unix on it just in case (didn't work before or after). Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated as I am relatively new to both PHP and openssl.

  • Visual Studio reference x64 GAC

    - by icelava
How can one get Visual Studio 2005/2008 to reference assemblies in the 64-bit GAC instead of the 32-bit GAC? We are settin the target platfom to x64 and the compiler is throwing the error of Error 2 Warning as Error: Assembly generation -- Referenced assembly 'System.Data.dll' targets a different processor Common Error 3 Warning as Error: Assembly generation -- Referenced assembly 'mscorlib.dll' targets a different processor Common Error 4 Assembly signing failed; output may not be signed -- The system cannot find the file specified. Common Update 29 Dec 08 Been trying out Aaron Stebner's suggestions to place 64-bit assemblies onto an isolated location (e.g. C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework64\v2.0.50727\GAC_64) and creating additional entries in the registry like HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft.NETFramework\AssemblyFolders\GAC_64 or HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft.NETFramework\v2.0.50727\AssemblyFoldersEx\GAC_64 but Visual Studio 2005 is still not picking it up....
