  • Mult-line Svg tooltip

    I have created numerous polygon shapes in SVG format. and grouped them together. When the user hovers over the group a tooltip box appear. I have used ecmascript. What i am looking to do is make the tooltip box a multiline box.   • ASP.Net MVC Ajax form with jQuery validation

    I have an MVC view with a form built with the Ajax.BeginForm() helper method, and I'm trying to validate user input with the jQuery Validation plugin. I get the plugin to highlight the inputs with invalid input data, but despite the invalid input the form is posted to the server. How do I stop this, and make sure that the data is only posted when the form validates?   • How to define a static array without a contant size in a constructor of a class? (C++)

    I have a class defined as: class Obj { public: int width, height; Obj(int w, int h); } and I need it to contain a static array like so: int presc[width][height]; however, I cannot define within the class, so it it possible to create a pointer to a 2D array (and, out of curiosity, 3, 4, and 5D arrays), have that as a member of the class, and intitalize it in the constructor like: int ar[5][6]; Obj o(5, 6, &ar); If that isn't possible, is there any way to get a static array without a contant size in a class, or am I going to have to use a dynamic array? (Something I don't want to do because I don't plan on ever changing the size of the array after it's created.)

  • What variable dictates position of non-focused elements in the roundabout plugin?

    Part of the problem here is that i'm not sure what the best language to use in order to find the solution. I search and searched so please forgive if this is already a thread somewhere. I'm using the roundabout plugin to cycle through 3 divs. Each div is 794px wide, which makes the roundabout-in-focus element 794 and the two not in focus 315.218px wide, positioned so half of each is hidden by the in-focus div. This is all well and good, however the total width of the display needs to stay within 1000px (ideally 980px, but i can fudge if need be.) Basically I want to make the non-focused divs be 3/4 hidden by the in-focus div but for the life of me can't figure out what variables i need to edit in order to do it.     I have a jQuery form that has validation of a sort. It is a data entry screen with two 'recommend ranges', one is 36-84, the other 50-300. The business rules call for the values to be either blank or greater than zero, but to prompt for confirmation if the values are outside of the range listed above. I have seen some other threads that talk about setting the class="cancel" on the submit button. From what I can tell, this will simply disable the validation. I need to prompt for a "do you want to continue, yes or no?" and if no stop the submit, if yes, continue. Below is an example from the book Pro jQuery. By default the top row needs to be between 10 and 20 to submit.     I have this <div id="container"> <div id="div1"></div> <div> Now, let's assume that: the "container" has a width of 300px the "container" has overflow: hidden; the "div1" has a width of 1000px; the "div1" is absolute positioned, top:0px,left:0px; The problem: The "div1" is not hidden, it overflows the "container" but it's still showing :(. If I simply remove the "position:absolute" it will work. How can I hide the overflow of "div1" ?

    This is using the Backberry JDK (5.0 if needed). I have a custom Manager that contains a RichTextField. I want the height of the field to vary by the amount of text in the RichTextField. The sublayout code looks like this (rtf is a RichTextField object): protected void sublayout(int width, int height) { int h = rtf.getPreferredHeight(); setExtent(Display.getWidth(), h); layoutChild(rtf, Display.getWidth(), h); setPositionChild(rtf, 0, 0); setExtent(Display.getWidth(), h); } The call to rtf.getPreferredHeight always returns the same value, no matter how much text (and therefore how many lines on the screen). Any clues on how to get the height of a RichTextField when the content and width are known?

  • how do I make my submenu position dynamic based on the distance to the edge of the window?

    I'm trying to write a jQuery script that will find the distance to the right edge of the browser window from my css class element and then position the child submenu dropdowns to the right or left depending on the available space to the right. Also it needs to revert to the default settings on hoverout. I also know that it needs to revert back to default after hover out so it can recalculate the distance from other positions within the menu structure and still have those second level submenus with enough room to still display on the right of the first level. here is css for the elements in question. #dnnMenu .subLevel{ display: none; position: absolute; margin: 0; z-index: 1210; background: #639ec8; text-transform: none;} #dnnMenu .subLevelRight{ position: absolute; display: none; left: 270px; top: 0px;} The site's not live yet and I tried to create a jsfiddle but it doesn't look right.   • Poorly rendered text (NSFont) in MacRuby/Cocoa. Any advice?

    I have a small MacRuby app that displays some text inside a NSTextView. I have a method called make_label() that builds an NSTextView with some text and returns it, which I use to add to another NSView via addSubview() make_label() looks like this: def make_label( x, y, width, height, color, font_size, text ) label = NSTextView.alloc.initWithFrame( NSMakeRect( x, y, width, height) ) font = NSFont.systemFontOfSize(font_size) label.setFont( font ) label.insertText( text ) label.setTextColor( color ) label.setDrawsBackground(false) label.setRichText(true) label.setEditable(false) label.setSelectable(false) label end My question is, how come my text looks so poorly rendered?   • Odd problem with IE8 and z-index CSS property

    I not been able to put one DIV over his parent DIV in Internet Explorer. With Firefox is working as suposed to. The odd part is that if I open the html file directly in IE, everything works fine. But if I upload to the server and open from there, the div is hidden underneath his parent. I've tried several z-index combinations and none works.
