However, this doesn't seem to work in the form. What should I be using?

  Let's assume I have an array of object properties I'd like to access: $properties = array('foo', 'bar'); I'd like to loop through the object and access these properties dynamically (specifically, I'm trying to dynamically handle missing JSON elements based on an array of expected elements): foreach ($data as $item) { foreach ($properties as $property) { if (empty($item->{$property})) { // Do something } } } Each $item in $data should have the properties 'foo' and 'bar'. If empty(), I'll handle them. I'm trying to get the loop (in line 3) to access $item-{'foo'} and $item-{'bar'}, but it's not working. Any idea why? Thanks!

  I'm running into problems trying to pass absolute URIs as parameters with clean URLs enabled. I've got hook_menu() set up like this: function mymodule_menu() { return array( 'page/%' = array( 'title' = 'DBpedia Display Test', 'page callback' = 'mymodule_dbpedia_display', 'page arguments' = array(1), ), ); } and in the page callback: function mymodule_dbpedia_display($uri) { // Make an HTTP request for this URI // and then render some things return $output; } What I'm hoping to do is somehow pass full URIs (e.g. "http://dbpedia.org/resource/Coffee") to my page callback. I've tried a few things and nothing's worked so far... http://mysite.com/page/http%3A%2F%2Fdbpedia.org%2Fresource%2FCoffee Completely breaks Drupal's rewriting http://mysite.com/page/?uri=http%3A%2F%2Fdbpedia.org%2Fresource%2FCoffee Gives a 404 http://mysite.com/page/http://dbpedia.org/resource/Coffee Returns just "http:", which makes sense I could probably use $_GET to pull out the whole query string, but I guess I'm hoping for a more 'Drupal' solution. Any suggestions?

• Force freeing memory in PHP

  Hi everybody, in a PHP program, I sequentially read a bunch of files (with file_get_contents), gzdecode them, json_decode the result, analyze the contents, throw the most of it away, and store about 1% in an array. Unfortunately, with each iteration (I traverse over an array containing the filenames), there seems to be some memory lost (according to memory_get_peak_usage, about 2-10 MB each time). I have double- and triplechecked my code, I am not storing unneded data in the loop (and the needed data hardly exceeds about 10MB overall), but I am frequently rewriting (actually, strings in an array). Apparently, PHP does not free the memory correctly, thus using more and more RAM until it hits the limit. Is there any way to do a forced garbage collection? Or, at least, to find out where the memory is used? Thanks in advance, Dmitri

I know it is straight forward and I did it before but when I do so, it change the behavior of my jquery (1.8.3) ajax response. I'm running a wamp setup and my PHP version is 5.4.6.   I have this Associative Array : $Fields = array("row0"=>"Yahoo ID", "row1"=>"MSN ID", "row2"=> "Gtalk ID"); on the other side, I have this SQL query : SELECT YahooID, MSNID, GTalkID From UserTable WHERE Username = '$Username' LIMIT 1; the result maybe vary, because some users only have Yahoo ID and some have others. for example if I have this result : $row[0] = NONE //means YahooID = NONE $row[1] = [email protected] $row[2] = [email protected] then how to have this as an output (echo) : MSN ID = [email protected] Gtalk ID = [email protected] since Yahoo ID is not exist, then the result will be MSN and Gtalk only. 'MSN ID' and 'Gtalk ID' is variable from Associative Array, while '[email protected]' and '[email protected]' from SQL result. thanks!

  Dears. I am using Matlab 2009b and having an out of memory error. I read other posted sol but they are not useful for me. I am sure that i am doing things right but i must use very huge amount of array sizes. I think that the problem lies beyond the fact that Matlab does not enable an array to be in more than one OS block. I am using Windows 7. Is there a way to get rid of this problem.   I'm working on a simple JOIN of two tables (urls and companies). I am using this query call: print $this->_db->select()->from(array('u' => 'urls'), array('id', 'url', 'company_id')) ->join(array('c' => 'companies'), 'u.company_id = c.id'); which is out putting this query: SELECT `u`.`id`, `u`.`url`, `u`.`company_id`, `c`.* FROM `urls` AS `u` INNER JOIN `companies` AS `c` ON u.company_id = c.id Now, I'd prefer the c.* to not actually appear, but either way it doesn't matter. ZF dies with this error: SQLSTATE[42000]: Syntax error or access violation: 1064 You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near '' at line 1" but I can run that query perfectly fine in my MySQL CLI. Any ideas how to fix up this query?

• laravel multiple where clauses within a loop

  Pretty much I want the query to select all records of users that are 25 years old AND are either between 150-170cm OR 190-200cm. I have this query written down below. However the problem is it keeps getting 25 year olds OR people who are 190-200cm instead of 25 year olds that are 150-170 OR 25 year olds that 190-200cm tall. • How to pass a file (read from Java) most effectively to a native method?

  Hi, I have approx. 30000 files (1MB each) which I want to put into a native method, which requires just an byte array and the size of it as arguments. I looked through some examples and benchmarks (like http://nadeausoftware.com/articles/2008/02/java_tip_how_read_files_quickly) but all of them do some other fancy things. Basically I don't care about the contents of the file, I don't want to access something in that file or the byte array or do anything else with it. I just want to put a file into a native method which accepts an byte array as fast as possible. At the moment I'm using RandomAccessFile, but that's horribly slow (10MB/s). Is there anything like byte[] readTheWholeFile(File file){ ... } which I could put into native void fancyCMethod(readTheWholeFile(myFile), myFile.length()) What would you suggest?

  Hi, I'm trying to search the parent of a node with Kruskal's algorithm. My program works just fine, but I think I have heard of a method to improve the speed of the algorithm by reconstructing the tree while searching for the parent node and connecting it to the parent node. I'm pretty sure that I've heard of this somewhere, maybe in a lecture. Can anyone refresh my memory? And also, given a number of arrays, when searching for the minimum and the maximum value from a certain section of an array, what is the name of the tree that can calculate the minimum/maximum value from the array by making a binary tree that has the minimum/maximum value of each array in O(log N)?

• How to customize the to_json method in rails3?

  I want to convert an array of Place objects to json, I've been doing it like this: var places = <%= @places.to_json.html_safe %>; The only problem is that every place in the @places array has an associated tag list that doesn't get included. I'm using the acts_as_taggable_on gem to handle tags, so to get the tag list for a place I need to say place.tag_list. What do I have to do to get the tag_list included for each place in the javascript array? I think I'll need to write my own to_json method but I don't know how. Thanks

  Hey All, Im using the codeigniter upload library to upload multiple files, which works fine ... What im having problems with is returning the information about the files. Im using the following code to print the results for testing echo '<pre>'; print_r($this->upload->data()); echo '</pre>'; A cut down version of the results are as follows Array ( [file_name] => Array ( [0] => filename1.gif [1] => filename2.jpg ) ) The way my view is setup, is that i use jquery to insert multiple dynamic file input fields so the amount of files can be 1, it can be 50 and so on. Im wondering how i would loop through that array to send each filename to the database

  I have an assoc array with a list of what are parameters to me. Here's an example: array( 'param1' => 'value1', 'param4' => 'value4', 'param3' => 'value3', 'param2' => 'value2', ); Note that they may come unsorted. Now, is there a way I can make a call (static or from an instance, using call_user_func_array or similar) and correctly pass each value to each parameter? Just to be sure, an example function I'd like to call using that parameter array is one such this: exampleFunction($param1, $param2, $param3, $param4) { ... } PS: Reflection is great, but I'm concerned about execution times (which, at least, in Java tends to increase a lot when using Reflection). If you know any other way to do so, it would be awesome.

• jQuery finding 'nth-child' value

  Hi, I have a ul set up as navigation, which I'll be animating on hover. As all the nav items are different widths, I'll be storing their default widths in an Array, so that on hover out, these widths can be passed back in to the animate method. What I need is a way to find what 'nth-child' the element is in order to retrieve the correct width from the array. Something like: var count = $(this).count(); //obviously this isn't right! So that then I can do: $(this).animate({'width':array(count)}, 400); Any suggestions would help me a lot - and if there's a better way to do this kind of thing I'd gladly accept pointers!

• Recursively determine average value

  I have to calculate an average value of my simulation. The simulation is ongoing and I want (for each iteration) to print the current average value. How do I do that? I tried the code below (in the loop), but I do not think that the right value is calculated... int average = 0; int newValue; // Continuously updated value. if(average == 0) { average = newValue; } average = (average + newValue)/2; I also taught about store each newValue in an array and for each iteration summarize the whole array and do the calculation. However, I don't think that's a good solution, because the loop is an infinity loop so I can't really determine the size of the array. There is also a possibility that I am thinking too much and that the code above is actually correct, but I don't think so...
