  • How to distinguish between two different UDP clients on the same IP address?

    - by Ricket
    I'm writing a UDP server, which is a first for me; I've only done a bit of TCP communications. And I'm having trouble figuring out exactly how to distinguish which user is which, since UDP deals only with packets rather than connections and I therefore cannot tell exactly who I'm communicating with. Here is pseudocode of my current server loop: DatagramPacket p; socket.receive(p); // now p contains the user's IP and port, and the data int key = getKey(p); if(key == 0) { // connection request key = makeKey(p); clients.add(key, p.ip); send(p.ip, p.port, key); // give the user his key } else { // user has a key // verify key belongs to that IP address // lookup the user's session data based on the key // react to the packet in the context of the session } When designing this, I kept in mind these points: Multiple users may exist on the same IP address, due to the presence of routers, therefore users must have a separate identification key. Packets can be spoofed, so the key should be checked against its original IP address and ignored if a different IP tries to use the key. The outbound port on the client side might change among packets. Is that third assumption correct, or can I simply assume that one user = one IP+port combination? Is this commonly done, or should I continue to create a special key like I am currently doing? I'm not completely clear on how TCP negotiates a connection so if you think I should model it off of TCP then please link me to a good tutorial or something on TCP's SYN/SYNACK/ACK mess. Also note, I do have a provision to resend a key, if an IP sends a 0 and that IP already has a pending key; I omitted it to keep the snippet simple. I understand that UDP is not guaranteed to arrive, and I plan to add reliability to the main packet handling code later as well.

  • C Programming Logic Error?

    - by mbpluvr64
    The following code compiles fine, but does not allow the user to choose whether or not the program is to run again. After giving the user the answer, the program automatically terminates. I placed the main code in a "do while" loop to have the ability to convert more than one time if I wanted too. I have tried to run the program in the command line (Mac and Ubuntu machines) and within XCode with the exact same results. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. C Beginner P.S. Compiling on MacBookPro running Snow Leopard. #include <stdio.h> #include <stdlib.h> int main(void) { char anotherIteration = 'Y'; do { const float Centimeter = 2.54f; float inches = 0.0f; float result = 0.0f; // user prompt printf("\nEnter inches: "); scanf("%f", &inches); if (inches < 0) { printf("\nTry again. Enter a positive number.\n"); break; } else { // calculate result result = inches * Centimeter; } printf("%0.2f inches is %0.2f centimeters.\n", inches, result); // flush input fflush(stdin); // user prompt printf("\nWould you like to run the program again? (Y/N): "); scanf("%c", &anotherIteration); if ((anotherIteration != 'Y') || (anotherIteration != 'N')) { printf("\nEnter a Y or a N."); break; } } while(toupper(anotherIteration == 'Y')); printf("Program terminated.\n"); return 0; }

  • Auditing in Entity Framework.

    - by Gabriel Susai
    After going through Entity Framework I have a couple of questions on implementing auditing in Entity Framework. I want to store each column values that is created or updated to a different audit table. Rightnow I am calling SaveChanges(false) to save the records in the DB(still the changes in context is not reset). Then get the added | modified records and loop through the GetObjectStateEntries. But don't know how to get the values of the columns where their values are filled by stored proc. ie, createdate, modifieddate etc. Below is the sample code I am working on it. //Get the changed entires( ie, records) IEnumerable<ObjectStateEntry> changes = context.ObjectStateManager.GetObjectStateEntries(EntityState.Modified); //Iterate each ObjectStateEntry( for each record in the update/modified collection) foreach (ObjectStateEntry entry in changes) { //Iterate the columns in each record and get thier old and new value respectively foreach (var columnName in entry.GetModifiedProperties()) { string oldValue = entry.OriginalValues[columnName].ToString(); string newValue = entry.CurrentValues[columnName].ToString(); //Do Some Auditing by sending entityname, columnname, oldvalue, newvalue } } changes = context.ObjectStateManager.GetObjectStateEntries(EntityState.Added); foreach (ObjectStateEntry entry in changes) { if (entry.IsRelationship) continue; var columnNames = (from p in entry.EntitySet.ElementType.Members select p.Name).ToList(); foreach (var columnName in columnNames) { string newValue = entry.CurrentValues[columnName].ToString(); //Do Some Auditing by sending entityname, columnname, value } }

  • Use an Array to Cycle Through a MySQL Where Statement

    - by Ryan
    I'm trying to create a loop that will output multiple where statements for a MySQL query. Ultimately, my goal is to end up with these four separate Where statements: `fruit` = '1' AND `vegetables` = '1' `fruit` = '1' AND `vegetables` = '2' `fruit` = '2' AND `vegetables` = '1' `fruit` = '2' AND `vegetables` = '2' My theoretical code is pasted below: <?php $columnnames = array('fruit','vegetables'); $column1 = array('1','2'); $column2 = array('1','2'); $where = ''; $column1inc =0; $column2inc =0; while( $column1inc <= count($column1) ) { if( !empty( $where ) ) $where .= ' AND '; $where = "`".$columnnames[0]."` = "; $where .= "'".$column1[$column1inc]."'"; while( $column2inc <= count($column2) ) { if( !empty( $where ) ) $where .= ' AND '; $where .= "`".$columnnames[1]."` = "; $where .= "'".$column2[$column2inc]."'"; echo $where."\n"; $column2inc++; } $column1inc++; } ?> When I run this code, I get the following output: `fruit` = '1' AND `vegetables` = '1' `fruit` = '1' AND `vegetables` = '1' AND `vegetables` = '2' `fruit` = '1' AND `vegetables` = '1' AND `vegetables` = '2' AND `vegetables` = '' Does anyone see what I am doing incorrectly? Thanks.

  • Qt - QWebView Problem

    - by user547057
    Hi, I have a PyQt gui script which consists of a QWebView widget. I'm trying to send a GET request, i.e go to a page, fill a form and hit click using the code at the bottom of this question. Since i'm dealing with the documentElement(a QWebElement) of the webview, I need to place all DOM actions in a separate function(which I have named fillForm) and connect the loadFinished() signal into the function. Without connecting the signal, the document will not have loaded and I won't be able to get the elements I want. I'm able to submit the form correctly and get the proper response from the webpage. The problem i'm having is that, the above leads to a sort of infinite loop. This is because the webpage gets reloaded each time a new page is loaded, so the form gets filled each and every single time without stopping. I'd like to know if there's some way of finding out whether the WebView's page has loaded fully, non-asynchronously or maybe pause execution of the script(without freezing the gui) until the whole document has loaded. I'm unable to come up with a satisfactory solution(my idea consisted of keeping a global variable to track clicks) to this problem. I would appreciate it if someone could help me out with a better way to tackle this. Thanks! Here's the code i'm using import sys from PyQt4.QtCore import * from PyQt4.QtGui import * from PyQt4.QtWebKit import * from PyQt4 import QtCore app = QApplication(sys.argv) web = QWebView() web.load(QUrl("http://mywebsite.com")) def fillForm(): doc = web.page().mainFrame().documentElement() searchform = doc.findFirst("input[type=text]") searchform.setAttribute("value", "hello") button = doc.findFirst("input[type=submit]") button.evaluateJavaScript("click()") QtCore.QObject.connect(web, QtCore.SIGNAL("loadFinished"), fillForm) web.show() sys.exit(app.exec_())

  • How can I export an array from Dynamics AX 2009 via c#?

    - by Steve Homer
    I'm pulling data from Dynamics AX 2009 from c# using the following code snippet. This works fine, except for those cases where the underlying field type is a dimension. I want to be able to "flatten" array types when I return them but can't see any way to do this. Any ideas anyone? axRecord = ax.CreateAxaptaRecord(tableName); axRecord.ExecuteStmt(strQuery); // Loop through the set of retrieved records. using (StreamWriter sw = File.CreateText(path)) { AxaptaObject axDictTable = ax.CreateAxaptaObject("SysDictTable",axRecord.get_Field("tableid")); outputRow = null; List<int> ids = new List<int>(); for (int i = 1; i <= (int)axDictTable.Call("fieldCnt"); i++) { AxaptaObject axDictField = ax.CreateAxaptaObject("DictField", axRecord.get_Field("tableid"), axDictTable.Call("fieldCnt2ID", i)); outputRow += ((string)axDictField.Call("Name")) + ","; ids.Add((int)axDictTable.Call("fieldCnt2ID", i)); } sw.WriteLine(outputRow); while (axRecord.Found) { outputRow = null; foreach(int i in ids) outputRow += axRecord.get_Field(i).ToString().Replace(",", "") + ","; sw.WriteLine(outputRow); axRecord.Next(); } }

  • Sending items in a LINQ sequence to a method that returns void

    - by generalt
    Hello all. Often while I'm dealing with LINQ sequences, I want to send each item to a method returning void, avoiding a foreach loop. However, I haven't found an elegant way to do this. Today, I wrote the following code: private StreamWriter _sw; private void streamToFile(List<ErrorEntry> errors) { if (_sw == null) { _sw = new StreamWriter(Path.Combine (Path.GetDirectoryName(_targetDatabasePath), "errors.txt")); } Func<ErrorEntry, bool> writeSelector = (e) => { _sw.WriteLine(getTabDelimititedLine(e)); return true; }; errors.Select(writeSelector); _sw.Flush(); } As you can see, I write a lambda function that just returns true, and I realize that the Select method will return a sequence of booleans- I'll just ignore that sequence. However, this seems a little bit noobish and jank. Is there any elegant way to do this? Or am I just misapplying LINQ? Thanks.

  • Issue in achartengine jar file

    - by Anshuman
    Actually i have created an app in which i have used achartengine to contruct graph. It was running ok, but today i saw an update for android SDK to r17. Once i upadated the sdk the app i had build started crash. In the logcat i show the following error report. Why this happen, is it because the jar file i have used is deprecated. 03-27 14:44:26.320: E/AndroidRuntime(4360): java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: [Lorg.achartengine.chart.PointStyle; 03-27 14:44:26.320: E/AndroidRuntime(4360): at in.com.example.ChartEngineActivity.onCreate(ChartEngineActivity.java:58) 03-27 14:44:26.320: E/AndroidRuntime(4360): at android.app.Instrumentation.callActivityOnCreate(Instrumentation.java:1047) 03-27 14:44:26.320: E/AndroidRuntime(4360): at android.app.ActivityThread.performLaunchActivity(ActivityThread.java:1611) 03-27 14:44:26.320: E/AndroidRuntime(4360): at android.app.ActivityThread.handleLaunchActivity(ActivityThread.java:1663) 03-27 14:44:26.320: E/AndroidRuntime(4360): at android.app.ActivityThread.access$1500(ActivityThread.java:117) 03-27 14:44:26.320: E/AndroidRuntime(4360): at android.app.ActivityThread$H.handleMessage(ActivityThread.java:931) 03-27 14:44:26.320: E/AndroidRuntime(4360): at android.os.Handler.dispatchMessage(Handler.java:99) 03-27 14:44:26.320: E/AndroidRuntime(4360): at android.os.Looper.loop(Looper.java:130) 03-27 14:44:26.320: E/AndroidRuntime(4360): at android.app.ActivityThread.main(ActivityThread.java:3683) 03-27 14:44:26.320: E/AndroidRuntime(4360): at java.lang.reflect.Method.invokeNative(Native Method) 03-27 14:44:26.320: E/AndroidRuntime(4360): at java.lang.reflect.Method.invoke(Method.java:507) 03-27 14:44:26.320: E/AndroidRuntime(4360): at com.android.internal.os.ZygoteInit$MethodAndArgsCaller.run(ZygoteInit.java:839) 03-27 14:44:26.320: E/AndroidRuntime(4360): at com.android.internal.os.ZygoteInit.main(ZygoteInit.java:597) 03-27 14:44:26.320: E/AndroidRuntime(4360): at dalvik.system.NativeStart.main(Native Method)

  • StreamReader.EndOfStream produces IOException

    - by Ziplin
    I'm working on an application that accepts TCP connections and reads in data until an </File> marker is read and then writes that data to the filesystem. I don't want to disconnect, I want to let the client sending the data to do that so they can send multiple files in one connection. I'm using the StreamReader.EndOfStream around my outter loop, but it throws an IOException when the client disconnects. Is there a better way to do this? private static void RecieveAsyncStream(IAsyncResult ar) { TcpListener listener = (TcpListener)ar.AsyncState; TcpClient client = listener.EndAcceptTcpClient(ar); // init the streams NetworkStream netStream = client.GetStream(); StreamReader streamReader = new StreamReader(netStream); StreamWriter streamWriter = new StreamWriter(netStream); while (!streamReader.EndOfStream) // throws IOException { string file= ""; while (file!= "</File>" && !streamReader.EndOfStream) { file += streamReader.ReadLine(); } // write file to filesystem } listener.BeginAcceptTcpClient(RecieveAsyncStream, listener); }

  • Getting identity from Ado.Net Update command

    - by rboarman
    My scenario is simple. I am trying to persist a DataSet and have the identity column filled in so I can add child records. Here's what I've got so far: using (SqlConnection connection = new SqlConnection(connStr)) { SqlDataAdapter adapter = new SqlDataAdapter("select * from assets where 0 = 1", connection); adapter.MissingMappingAction = MissingMappingAction.Passthrough; adapter.MissingSchemaAction = MissingSchemaAction.AddWithKey; SqlCommandBuilder cb = new SqlCommandBuilder(adapter); var insertCmd = cb.GetInsertCommand(true); insertCmd.Connection = connection; connection.Open(); adapter.InsertCommand = insertCmd; adapter.InsertCommand.CommandText += "; set ? = SCOPE_IDENTITY()"; adapter.InsertCommand.UpdatedRowSource = UpdateRowSource.OutputParameters; var param = new SqlParameter("RowId", SqlDbType.Int); param.SourceColumn = "RowId"; param.Direction = ParameterDirection.Output; adapter.InsertCommand.Parameters.Add(param); SqlTransaction transaction = connection.BeginTransaction(); insertCmd.Transaction = transaction; try { assetsImported = adapter.Update(dataSet.Tables["Assets"]); transaction.Commit(); } catch (Exception ex) { transaction.Rollback(); // Log an error } connection.Close(); } The first thing that I noticed, besides the fact that the identity value is not making its way back into the DataSet, is that my change to add the scope_identity select statement to the insert command is not being executed. Looking at the query using Profiler, I do not see my addition to the insert command. Questions: 1) Why is my addition to the insert command not making its way to the sql being executed on the database? 2) Is there a simpler way to have my DataSet refreshed with the identity values of the inserted rows? 3) Should I use the OnRowUpdated callback to add my child records? My plan was to loop through the rows after the Update() call and add children as needed. Thank you in advance. Rick

  • Play and record streaming audio

  • Convert a nested array into a flat array with PHP

    - by Ben Fransen
    Hello all, I'm trying to create a generic database mapping class with PHP. Collecting the data through my functions is going well, but as expected I'm retrieving a nested set. A print_r of my received array looks like: Array ( [table] => Session [columns] => Array ( [0] => `Session`.`ID` AS `Session_ID` [1] => `Session`.`User` AS `Session_User` [2] => `Session`.`SessionID` AS `Session_SessionID` [3] => `Session`.`ExpiresAt` AS `Session_ExpiresAt` [4] => `Session`.`CreatedAt` AS `Session_CreatedAt` [5] => `Session`.`LastActivity` AS `Session_LastActivity` [6] => `Session`.`ClientIP` AS `Session_ClientIP` ) [0] => Array ( [table] => User [columns] => Array ( [0] => `User`.`ID` AS `User_ID` [1] => `User`.`UserName` AS `User_UserName` [2] => `User`.`Password` AS `User_Password` [3] => `User`.`FullName` AS `User_FullName` [4] => `User`.`Address` AS `User_Address` ) [0] => Array ( [table] => Address [columns] => Array ( [0] => `Address`.`ID` AS `Address_ID` [1] => `Address`.`UserID` AS `Address_UserID` [2] => `Address`.`Street` AS `Address_Street` [3] => `Address`.`City` AS `Address_City` ) ) ) ) To simplify things I want to recreate this nested array to a flat array so I can easily loop through it and use the 'columns' key to create my SELECT query. I'm kinda struggling with this for a while now and figures, maybe some users at SO can help me out here. I've tried multiple things with recursion, all without luck so far... Any help is much appriciated! Thanks in advance, Ben Fransen

    - by Pavel Peroutka
    NSFetchRequest *req = [NSFetchRequest init]; NSEntityDescription *descr = [NSEntityDescription entityForName:@"City" inManagedObjectContext:context]; [req setEntity:descr]; NSSortDescriptor *sort = [[NSSortDescriptor alloc] initWithKey:@"streetName" ascending:YES]; [req setSortDescriptors:[NSArray arrayWithObject:sort]]; [sort release]; //fetch NSError *error; NSArray *result = [context executeFetchRequest:req error:&error]; //extract names NSMutableArray *streets = [[NSMutableArray alloc] init]; for () { ??? = [array objectAtIndex:i]; [streets addObject:name]; } I expected Core Data to be little more intuitive. I am new in it and I could use some help. I fetched all objects(rows) from the entity (table) City. Now I have an array of objects. From the array I need to extract the attribute “streetName” to an array which will feed the picker. I figured I need to do it in the loop but I could not figure out the way to do it. Please help. I have a background with SQL but Core Data is still a big mystery to me. Is there any publication which would take a SQL statement and show comparable Core Data syntax? Thanks.

  • MovieViewControl unable to become a receiver during Broadcast

    - by Paulina D
    Hi! I'm currently trying to catch a broadcast message with the MovieViewControl class, already added the filter in the Manifest //In MovieViewControl private static final String SERVICECMD = "com.android.music.musicservicecommand"; private static final String CMDNAME = "command"; private static final String CMDPAUSE = "pause"; @Override public void onReceive(Context context, Intent intent) { String intentAction = intent.getAction(); if (AudioManager.ACTION_AUDIO_BECOMING_NOISY.equals(intentAction)) { Intent i = new Intent(intent.ACTION_MAIN); i.setAction(SERVICECMD); i.putExtra(CMDNAME, CMDPAUSE); mVideoView.pause(); context.startActivity(i); } } but when I do my trial, I get this (very) huge exception: W/dalvikvm( 1630): threadid=3: thread exiting with uncaught exception (group=0x4001b1b8) E/AndroidRuntime( 1630): Uncaught handler: thread main exiting due to uncaught exception E/AndroidRuntime( 1630): java.lang.RuntimeException: Unable to instantiate receiver com.android.gallery.MovieViewControl: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: com.android.gallery.MovieViewControl in loader dalvik.system.PathClassLoader@438ff048 E/AndroidRuntime( 1630): at android.app.ActivityThread.handleReceiver(ActivityThread.java:2616) E/AndroidRuntime( 1630): at android.app.ActivityThread.access$3100(ActivityThread.java:119) E/AndroidRuntime( 1630): at android.app.ActivityThread$H.handleMessage(ActivityThread.java:1913) E/AndroidRuntime( 1630): at android.os.Handler.dispatchMessage(Handler.java:99) E/AndroidRuntime( 1630): at android.os.Looper.loop(Looper.java:123) E/AndroidRuntime( 1630): at android.app.ActivityThread.main(ActivityThread.java:4363) E/AndroidRuntime( 1630): at java.lang.reflect.Method.invokeNative(Native Method) E/AndroidRuntime( 1630): at java.lang.reflect.Method.invoke(Method.java:521) E/AndroidRuntime( 1630): at com.android.internal.os.ZygoteInit$MethodAndArgsCaller.run(ZygoteInit.java:860) E/AndroidRuntime( 1630): at com.android.internal.os.ZygoteInit.main(ZygoteInit.java:618) E/AndroidRuntime( 1630): at dalvik.system.NativeStart.main(Native Method) E/AndroidRuntime( 1630): Caused by: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: com.android.gallery.MovieViewControl in loader dalvik.system.PathClassLoader@438ff048 E/AndroidRuntime( 1630): at dalvik.system.PathClassLoader.findClass(PathClassLoader.java:243) E/AndroidRuntime( 1630): at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClass(ClassLoader.java:573) E/AndroidRuntime( 1630): at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClass(ClassLoader.java:532) E/AndroidRuntime( 1630): at android.app.ActivityThread.handleReceiver(ActivityThread.java:2609) E/AndroidRuntime( 1630): ... 10 more Any hints on what might I be missing?   • Dumping an ADODB recordset to XML, then back to a recordset, then saving to the db

    - by Mark Biek
    I've created an XML file using the .Save() method of an ADODB recordset in the following manner. dim res dim objXML: Set objXML = Server.CreateObject("MSXML2.DOMDocument") 'This returns an ADODB recordset set res = ExecuteReader("SELECT * from some_table) With res Call .Save(objXML, 1) Call .Close() End With Set res = nothing Let's assume that the XML generated above then gets saved to a file. I'm able to read the XML back into a recordset like this: dim res : set res = Server.CreateObject("ADODB.recordset") res.open server.mappath("/admin/tbl_some_table.xml") And I can loop over the records without any problem. However what I really want to do is save all of the data in res to a table in a completely different database. We can assume that some_table already exists in this other database and has the exact same structure as the table I originally queried to make the XML. I started by creating a new recordset and using AddNew to add all of the rows from res to the new recordset dim outRes : set outRes = Server.CreateObject("ADODB.recordset") dim outConn : set outConn = Server.CreateObject("ADODB.Connection") dim testConnStr : testConnStr = "DRIVER={SQL Server};SERVER=dev-windows\sql2000;UID=myuser;PWD=mypass;DATABASE=Testing" outConn.open testConnStr outRes.activeconnection = outConn outRes.cursortype = adOpenDynamic outRes.locktype = adLockOptimistic outRes.source = "product_accessories" outRes.open while not res.eof outRes.addnew for i=0 to res.fields.count-1 outRes(res.fields(i).name) = res(res.fields(i).name) next outRes.movefirst res.movenext wend outRes.updatebatch But this bombs the first time I try to assign the value from res to outRes. Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers error '80040e21' Multiple-step OLE DB operation generated errors. Check each OLE DB status value, if available. No work was done. Can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong or suggest a better way for me to copy the data loaded from XML to a different database?

  • How do I populate these fields from existing data?

    - by dmanexe
    I'm not sure how to make a few parts of my form to populate from data from an array I'm passing from the database. First is this <select> object. The key estimate_lead_id in the database holds the value, and I want the dropdown to auto-select based on the value from the database. <select name="estimate_lead_id"> <? foreach($leads->result() as $lead) { ?> <option value="<?=$lead->id?>"><?=$lead->lead_name?></option> <? } ?> </select> Second (this is a little more complex), I have created a script that loops through and gets all of the items from each respective category. What I can't get it to do though is loop through these items and only display the items in the estimate, and then fill the fields with the respective values from the database. <?php foreach ($items['items_poolconcretedecking']->result() as $item) { ?> <input type="checkbox" name="measure[<?=$item->id?>][checkmark]" value="<?=$item->id?>"> <input class="item_mult" value="" type="text" name="measure[<?=$item->id?>][quantity]" /> <?php } ?>

  • More FP-correct way to create an update sql query

    - by James Black
    I am working on access a database using F# and my initial attempt at creating a function to create the update query is flawed. let BuildUserUpdateQuery (oldUser:UserType) (newUser:UserType) = let buf = new System.Text.StringBuilder("UPDATE users SET "); if (oldUser.FirstName.Equals(newUser.FirstName) = false) then buf.Append("SET first_name='").Append(newUser.FirstName).Append("'" ) |> ignore if (oldUser.LastName.Equals(newUser.LastName) = false) then buf.Append("SET last_name='").Append(newUser.LastName).Append("'" ) |> ignore if (oldUser.UserName.Equals(newUser.UserName) = false) then buf.Append("SET username='").Append(newUser.UserName).Append("'" ) |> ignore buf.Append(" WHERE id=").Append(newUser.Id).ToString() This doesn't properly put a , between any update parts after the first, for example: UPDATE users SET first_name='Firstname', last_name='lastname' WHERE id=... I could put in a mutable variable to keep track when the first part of the set clause is appended, but that seems wrong. I could just create an list of tuples, where each tuple is oldtext, newtext, columnname, so that I could then loop through the list and build up the query, but it seems that I should be passing in a StringBuilder to a recursive function, returning back a boolean which is then passed as a parameter to the recursive function. Does this seem to be the best approach, or is there a better one?

  • Java - SwingWorker - problem

    - by Yatendra Goel
    I am developing a Java Desktop Application. This app executes the same task public class MyTask implements Callable<MyObject> { in multiple thread simultaneously. Now, when a user clicks on a "start" button, I have created a SwingWorker myWorker and have executed it. Now, this myWorker creates multiple instances of MyTask and submits them to an ExecutorService. Each MyTask instance has a loop and generates an intermediate result at every iteration. Now, I want to collect these intermediate results from each MyTask instances as soon as they are generated. Then after collecting these intermediate results from every MyTask instance, I want to publish it through SwingWorker.publish(MyObject) so that the progress is shown on the EDT. Q1. How can I implement this? Should I make MyTask subclass of SwingWorker instead of Callable to get intermediate results also, because I think that Callable only returns final result. Q2. If the answer of Q1. is yes, then can you give me a small example to show how can I get those intermediate results and aggregate them and then publish them from main SwingWorker? Q3. If I can't use SwingWorker in this situation, then how can I implement this?

  • How to extract a 2x2 submatrix from a bigger matrix

    - by ZaZu
    Hello, I am a very basic user and do not know much about commands used in C, so please bear with me...I cant use very complicated codes. I have some knowledge in the stdio.h and ctype.h library, but thats about it. I have a matrix in a txt file and I want to load the matrix based on my input of number of rows and columns For example, I have a 5 by 5 matrix in the file. I want to extract a specific 2 by 2 submatrix, how can I do that ? I created a nested loop using : FILE *sample sample=fopen("randomfile.txt","r"); for(i=0;i<rows;i++){ for(j=0;j<cols;j++){ fscanf(sample,"%f",&matrix[i][j]); } fscanf(sample,"\n",&matrix[i][j]); } fclose(sample); Sadly the code does not work .. If I have this matrix : 5.00 4.00 5.00 6.00 5.00 4.00 3.00 25.00 5.00 3.00 4.00 23.00 5.00 2.00 352.00 6.00 And inputting 3 for row and 3 for column, I get : 5.00 4.00 5.00 6.00 5.00 4.00 3.00 25.00 5.00 Not only this isnt a 2 by 2 submatrix, but even if I wanted the first 3 rows and first 3 columns, its not printing it correctly.... I need to start at row 3 and col 3, then take the 2 by 2 submatrix ! I should have ended up with : 4.00 23.00 352.00 6.00 I heard that I can use fgets and sscanf to accomplish this. Here is my trial code : fgets(garbage,1,fin); sscanf(garbage,"\n"); But this doesnt work either :( What am I doing wrong ? Please help. Thanks !

  • iPhone/iPad : Check for invalid characters in a textbox made for Integers only

    - by JustinXXVII
    I noticed that the iPhone OS is pretty good about picking out Integer values when asked to. Specifically, if you use NSString *stringName = @"6("; int number = [stringName intValue]; the iPhone OS will pick out the 6 and turn the variable number into 6. However, in more complex mistypes, this also makes the int variable 6: NSString *stringName = @"6(5"; int number = [stringName intValue]; The iPhone OS misses the other digit, when what could have possibly been the user trying to enter the number 65, the OS only gets the number 6 out of it. I need a solution to check a string for invalid characters and return NO if there is anything other than an unsigned integer in a textbox. This is for iPad, and currently there is no numeric keyboard like the iPhone has, and I'm instead limited to the standard 123 keyboard. I was thinking that I need to use NSRange and somehow loop through the entire string in the textbox, and checking to see if the current character in the iteration is a number. I'm lost as far as that goes. I can think of testing it against zero, but zero is a valid integer. Can anyone help?

  • XMPP4R Callbacks dont seem to work

    - by Sid
    Im using xmpp4r and trying to get the hang of a basic chat feature that I wish to implement later in my Rails app. My fundamentals on Ruby Threads is still a bit shaky so I would appreciate any help on this. Though I register the callback i dont get a response from my gmail account. I am able to send a message but my ruby program terminates. In order to prevent it from terminating I tried to stop on of the threads in the program but I cant seem to get it working. require 'rubygems' require "xmpp4r/client" require "xmpp4r/roster" include Jabber def connect client = Client.new(JID::new("[email protected]")) client.connect client.auth("test") client.send(Presence.new.set_type(:available)) client end def create_message(message, to_email) msg = Jabber::Message::new(to_email, message) msg.type = :chat msg end def subscribe(email_id) pres = Presence.new.set_type(:subscribe).set_to(email_id) pres end client = connect roster = Roster::Helper.new(client) roster.add_subscription_request_callback do |item,pres| roster.accept_subscription(pres.from) end def create_callback(client) $t4= Thread.new do client.add_message_callback do |m| puts m.body puts "................................Callback working" end end end puts "Client has connected" msg = create_message("Welcome to the winter of my discontent", "[email protected]") client.send(msg) create_callback(client) def check(client) $t3 = Thread.new do loop do puts "t3 still running........." • A really smart rails helper needed

    - by Stefan Liebenberg
    In my rails application I have a helper function: def render_page( permalink ) page = Page.find_by_permalink( permalink ) content_tag( :h3, page.title ) + inline_render( page.body ) end If I called the page "home" with: <%= render_page :home %> and "home" page's body was: <h1>Home<h1/> bla bla <%= render_page :about %> <%= render_page :contact %> I would get "home" page, with "about" and "contact", it's nice and simple... right up to where someone goes and changes the "home" page's content to: <h1>Home<h1/> bla bla <%= render_page :home %> <%= render_page :about %> <%= render_page :contact %> which will result in a infinite loop ( a segment fault on webrick )... How would I change the helper function to something that won't fall into this trap? My first attempt was along the lines of: @@list = [] def render_page( permalink ) unless list.include?(permalink) @@list += [ permalink ] page = Page.find_by_permalink content_tag( :h3, page.title ) + inline_render( page.body ) @@list -= [ permalink ] else content_tag :b, "this page is already being rendered" end end which worked on my development environment, but bombed out in production... any suggestions? Thank You Stefan

  • How do you protect a common resource using mutexes?

    - by Steve
    I have a common resource, which I want 1 and only 1 instance of my application (or it's COM API) to have access to at any time. I have tried to protect this resource using mutexes, but when multiple threads of a host dotnet application try to access the COM object, the mutex doesn't seem to be released. This is the code I have used to protect my resource. repeat Mutex := CreateMutex(nil, True, PChar('Connections')); until (Mutex <> 0) and (GetLastError <> ERROR_ALREADY_EXISTS); try //use resource here! finally CloseHandle(Mutex); end; If I run the threads simultaneously, the first thread get's through (obviously, being the first one to create the mutex), but subsequent threads are caught in the repeat loop. If I run each thread at 5 second intervals, then all is ok. I suspect I'm not using mutexes correctly here, but I have found very little documentation about how to do this. Any ideas?

  • Select Table Rows by Grouping them Adjacent to each Other using XPath

    - by Adnan Yaseen
    I am not clear how to express my problem correctly in the question so forgive me if I am not able to properly convey my problem. I have following data. <tr class="header">Random Value 1</tr> <tr class="item">1</tr> <tr class="item">2</tr> <tr class="item">3</tr> <tr class="header">Random Value 2</tr> <tr class="item">4</tr> <tr class="item">5</tr> <tr class="item">6</tr> <tr class="header">Random Value 3</tr> <tr class="item">7</tr> <tr class="item">8</tr> <tr class="item">9</tr> What I want to acheive is that I want to select the with class header. I have achieved this by using the following line of code, HtmlNodeCollection headerNodes = doc.DocumentNode.SelectNodes("//tr[@class='header']"); Now I have all the header rows in the collection. Now I loop through all the header nodes and I want to get the table rows which are adjacent to the respective header rows. foreach (HtmlNode node in headerNodes) { HtmlNodeCollection itemNodes = ??? } My question is that what I should write here so that for header row with text "Random Value 1" I get the item rows 1,2 and 3. Similarly for header row with text "Random Value 2" I get the item row 4,5 and 6 and so on.
