  All, Building a new system using an Intel Server Board S3420GP motherboard and an Intel Xeon X3440 processor. Before installing this motherboard into the chassis we want to test that it will actually boot correctly. We have mounted the processor and RAM with no hard drives attached. The boot sequence differs between the next variable: 1) Connecting video results in the system fans ramp up and down, twice, and then the system beeps with the same behavior repeating; the system status light shows "Amber" 2) With no video, the system goes through POST and the diag LEDs show that the system is missing a bootable device Need some assistance identifying why the board would fail to POST with video connected. // Update // Using another Power Supply the system gets passed the fans ramping up and down twice. Video still does not display.

• TFS2010 - Correctly setting up Host Header

  We have a TFS2010 install on a Win2008R2 Server running IIS7. I've created a host header for TFS and want to use that instead of machineName:8080. I am getting weird behavior from it now. Every other time I log in I get: TF31002: Unable to connect to this Team Foundation Server: http://web2/tfs. Team Foundation Server Url: http://web2/tfs. Possible reasons for failure include: - The name, port number, or protocol for the Team Foundation Server is incorrect. - The Team Foundation Server is offline. - The password has expired or is incorrect. Technical information (for administrator): The request failed with HTTP status 404: Not Found. I force a reconnect and voila - there it is. Also, connecting to the web site rarely works but connecting via VS2010 works 50% of the time. What do i need to change to stabilize this?

• How to remove IMAP account from Thunderbird's "Grouped Inbox"

  I have four IMAP accounts "merged" into one using Thunderbird 2's "Grouped inbox" view. I want to take one of the four accounts out of the grouped view. It is a maintenance mailbox that contains a lot of status mails. Those mails tend to clog my "real" inbox. I am able to edit the Inbox folder using "Properties". In the list that comes up, it is possible to de-select the maintenance mailbox and everything works fine. However, if I restart Thunderbird, it will forget what I de-selected and use all four mailboxes again. Is there any way to make Thunderbird remember the change?

• Disable MOUSE wakeup when doing suspend on UBUNTU

  When I do SUSPEND on ubuntu, in order to wake up, i can just move the mouse and the computer will wake up. But, I dont want that the computer is waked up when I move my mouse. How can I do that? • What is this Cable for? 4 Pin to 2 Pin from Riser to Perc in Dell R410

  I got a new raid card for a R410 server since the S300 that came with it doesn't support raid with Linux (No work around for this if SAS from what I could find). Anyways, the RAID card has 2 pins on it and there is a cable that that connects to a 4 pin connection on the riser. The cable only has two wires, one black and one red. What is this cable for? My guess would be maybe LED status for the front panel or something like that, but I am just guessing....

• Why is systemd not setting my system time?

  I'm running Arch Linux. Recently, when I turn on my PC, the system time is set to 1:00 1 January 1970 - presumably the 1:00 o'clock is from the timezone shift. Does anyone have any ideas why systemd isn't setting my system time correctly? Some useful output (I think)...   Hello all, We are experience a 500 http error when trying to run remote powershell on a win 2008 R2 server. I have run enable-wsmancredssp for both client and server roles on this machine. I have also run "winrm quickconfig". Also the allowfreshcredentials delegation group policy is setup correctly as well. There are active listeners running and credssp is enabled for client and service. I can connect with kerberos (by not specifing authentication type), but the following remote powershell command fails: Enter-PSSession -ComputerName serverX -credential domain\user -Authentication Credssp Error: Enter-PSSession : Connecting to remote server failed with the following error message : The WinRM client received an HTTP server error status (500), but the remote service did not include any other information about the cause of the failure. For more information, see the about_Remote_Troubleshooting Help topic. At line:1 char:16 I have not been able to find any useful information on how to troubleshoot this. I have restarted Winrm, rebooted, disabled and re-enabled credssp. Please help.

  I use Excel sheets to track the status of tasks through a set of discrete statuses. I'd like to be able to format these automatically, with the start being red, the end being green and progressing through the combination colors in the middle. Status1 (Red) Status2 (More Red than Green) Status3 (More Green than Red) Status4 (Green) The "Color Scales" option under Conditional Formatting seems like it could be made to work, but it wants numbers. So, my question, can it be done? Using conditional formatting or other formulas to achieve the desired affect?

  I have a server running multiple instances of mysql and also has the zabbix-agent running. In zabbix_agentd.conf i have specified: UserParameter=multi.mysql[*],mysqladmin --socket=$1 -uzabbixagent extended-status 2>/dev/null | awk '/ $3 /{print $$4}' where $1 is the socket instance. From the zabbix server i can run the test successfully. zabbix_get -s ip_of_server -k multi.mysql[/var/lib/mysql/mysql2.sock] and it returns all the values However the zabbix item/trigger does not generate the graphs, I have created a MACRO for $1 which is the socket location {$MYSQL_SOCKET1} = '/var/lib/mysql/mysql2.sock' and i use this key in items to poll the value multi.mysql[{$MYSQL_SOCKET1},Bytes_sent] LOGS: this is what i get on the logs: 3360:20120214:144716.278 item [multi.mysql['/var/lib/mysql/mysql2.sock',Bytes_received]] error: Special characters '\'"`*?[]{}~$!&;()<>|#@' are not allowed in the parameters 3360:20120214:144716.372 item [multi.mysql['/var/lib/mysql/mysql2.sock',Bytes_sent]] error: Special characters '\'"`*?[]{}~$!&;()<>|#@' are not allowed in the parameters Any ideas where the problem could be? • VMWare Fusion cannot connect to the NAT connection on my Mac

  I have been using VMWare Fusion on my Mac to check out my websites on localhost. Now I can't connect anymore with the NAT connection. There seems to be a problem with my IP address or Mac address? I have no idea what causes this, it was working fine before!? In the XP (SP2) VM, in the taskbar I see the Local Area Connection with the yellow warning icon. The bubble says: "This connection has limited or no connectivity. You might not be aisle to access the Internet or some network resources. For more information, click this message." Doing that opens up the Local Area Connection Status panel. In the Support tab, when I click the repair button I get following message: "Windows could not finish repairing the problem because the following action cannot be completed: Renewing IP address." Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  Hi everyone and marry Christmas, I’ve to create an auto-reply for some of the users in my organization where, when a person sends an E-mail to e.g. [email protected] is faced with an automatically auto-reply with some message “closed during the holidays. We are back at… etc. etc. etc.”. I’ve tried to create a Transport Rule on our Exchange server but the only option I can find in the actions-window is to reply with a “Bounce message to sender with enhanced status code” but I guess that is not the precise action I’m looking for. How can I set up a server-side auto-reply, apply it to only a fixed number of users in my organization and create a message to the senders (which is outside the organization)? Sincerely Mestika

• Caching DNS server (bind9.2) CPU usage is so so so high.

  Hi, I have a caching-only dns server which get ~3k queries per second. Here is specs: Xeon dual-core 2,8GHz 4GB of RAM Centos 5x (kernel 2.6.18-164.15.1.el5PAE) bind 9.4.2 rndc status: recursive clients: 666/4900/5000 About 300 new queries (not in cache) per second. Bind always uses 100% on one core on single-thread config. After I recompiled it to multi-thread, it uses nearly 200% on two core :( No iowait, only sys and user. I searched around but didn't see any info about how bind use CPU. Why does it become bottleneck? One more thing, here is RAM usage: cat /proc/meminfo MemTotal: 4147876 kB MemFree: 1863972 kB Buffers: 143632 kB Cached: 372792 kB SwapCached: 0 kB Active: 1916804 kB Inactive: 276056 kB I've set max-cache-size to 0 to make sure bind can use as much RAM as it want, but it always stop at ~2GB. Since every second we got not cached queries so theoretically RAM must be exhausted but it wasn't. Do you have any idea? TIA, -Gk

  I have tried some combinations of ProxyPass, ProxyPassReverse and ProxyHTMLURLMap but I'm still not having much luck. I just would like to be able to hit the printers in CUPS by going to www.printerhost.com/printers/printername rather than having to add a port 631 or have CUPS listen on port 80. • My HP-Vista based laptop has become very slow recently

  My HP laptop which has Vista Home premium. When I try to start Firefox, internet explorer, it becomes very slow. No other app. When i checked the Performance in Task Manager. It shows the Physical memory , Free as 0 bytes, almost always. This has been recently. Earlier it didn't used to be zero. Laptop has 2GB of RAM. I have nothing running in my tray except - Sound control, Laptop power plan indicator,Network status indicator. There are no other processes whose memory usage adds up to so high to make Free memory as 0. Then what could be hogging the memory and make the laptop very slow. Any pointers would help as it is crawling at the moment.

• Windows 7 randomly installs an "Unknown Device"

  Rarely (several days to weeks between occurrences,) and seemingly at random, I get a balloon notification from Windows 7 (x64 SP1 Home Premium) that it is installing hardware for me. However, no new hardware has been installed or plugged in! When I click the balloon it doesn't give me any useful information: Looking in the event log, I find this entry: Event ID: 20001 Source: UserPnp Task Category: 7005 Message: Driver Management concluded the process to install driver FileRepository\usb.inf_amd64_neutral_153b489118ee37b8\usb.inf for Device Instance ID USB\VID_0000&PID_0000\6&3AF9A177&0&0060&&02 with the following status: 0x0. It appears to be USB related. My motherboard has both USB 2.0 and 3.0 controllers. My keyboard and mouse are plugged into the 2.0 slots and the data/recharge cable for a tablet (but not the tablet itself) was plugged in to the 3.0 slot. No other USB devices have been attached for several days/reboots. Why is Windows doing this?

• Where is the Plesk Error Log / Or how can I get Plesk running again?

  I currently have a VPS that is running Plesk and for some unknown reason it will not start. All the more information it gives me about it not starting is the following: Operation start with the VPS(s) VEID54635644 service "psa" is finished with errors: #703 Can not start/stop/restart service: service "psa" status is not "running" after command "start". This does really mean anything to me. Currently my server provider does not seem interested in helping me get Plesk running again so I am hoping I can get this going again on my own. I am assuming that there has to be an error log SOMEWHERE for Plesk, but the only thing I can find is located at /usr/local/psa/admin/logs/httpds_access_log and that just looks like an access log, not an error log (it is the only file in the directory). Is there another log somewhere in the system for this that I do not know about? Is there a way to find out why Plesk did not start? Thanks Josh Pennington

  I've got rewrite module working great for my IIS7.5 site. Now, I wish to add a number of urls that all goto an HTTP 410-Gone status. Eg. <rule name="Old Site = image1" patternSyntax="ExactMatch" stopProcessing="true"> <match url="image/loading_large.gif"/> <match url="image/aaa.gif"/> <match url="image/bbb.gif"/> <match url="image/ccc.gif"/> <action type="CustomResponse" statusCode="410" statusReason="Gone" statusDescription="The requested resource is no longer available" /> </rule> but that's invalid - the website doesn't start saying there's a rewrite config error. Is there another way I can do this? I don't particularly want define a single URL and ACTION for each url.
