    Here's the conundrum, I'm a complete and utter noob when it comes to programming. I understand the basics, but am still learning javascript. I have a spreadsheet of surveys, in which I need to see how particular users have varied over time. As such, I need to disregard all rows with unique values in a particular column.     In Microsoft Project 2007 Professional, If I select Tools Macro Security the message: The file "STDOLE.TLB" cannot be found or contains a Visual Basic for Applications library that is not valid. Verify that the file name is correct, and try again. If the Visual Basic for Applications library is invalid, reinstall Project. I am a software developer and I have developed an Add-In for MS Project using Visual Studio 2005, with all the problems that entails. As such my machine is configured with both Project 2003 Professional and Project 2007 Professional. I only noticed this error when trying to debug my Add-In. The Add-In loads and draws the menu, but when I click on the menu option I receive this error (which is also generated by the Tools Macros Security option mentioned above). I have tried repairing office installations and uninstalling everything and then re-installing everything all over again, but after several hours I still get the same problem. Does anyone have any idea how to resolve this? Some method of finding out what type libraries are registered with STDOLE2.TLB may help if I can identify what is causing the problem. Also a way of manually unregistering the nasty library may be helpful. My machine is configured as follows: Windows 7 Ultimate x64 Project 2003 Professional Office 2007 Ultimate Project 2007 Professional Visio 2007 Professional Visual Studio 2005 Team Edition for Developers Visual Studio 2005 Tools for Office Second edition Visual Studio 2008 Professional I also installed MS Project 2010 Beta to test my Add-In against, but have since uninstalled it. I have a suspicion that this may have caused the problem, but I cannot be sure.

    I have the below code that does not seem to work at all :( I keep getting: Microsoft JScript runtime error: Object expected The error seems to occur when the timeout is done. So if I raise the timeout with 10 seconds the error holds for another 10 seconds. I want to be able to update the number of friends online async. The number is shown with the following html: <a href="" id="showChat" >Friends online <strong id="friendsOnline">(?)</strong></a> The friends part is set at the first run, but when the timeout calls back it does not fire again. Also, I cannot see on which line the error occurs because if I want to break on the error it just shows "no source code" etc. The code below is the code I'm using.     I'm in the process of building a Debian FreeRadius server that does 802.1x authentication for domain members. I would like to sign my radius server's SSL certificate (used for EAP-TLS) and leverage the domain's existing PKI. The radius server is joined to domain via Samba and has a machine account as displayed in Active Directory Users and Computers. The domain controller I'm trying to sign my radius server's key against does not have IIS installed so I can't use the preferred Certsrv webpage to generate the certificate. The MMC tools won't work as it can't access the certificate stores on the radius server because they don't exist. This leaves the certreq.exe utility.   • How to have internet connection over VPN while "Microsoft Firewall Client for ISA server" is running

    I have the software mentioned in the title running on my machine. When I connect over VPN to my company's network, my internet connection gets borked, because somehow the ISA firewall blocks it. This is completely idiotic, because my work involves extensive use of the internet, so having to disconnect and reconnect continuously seriously cripples my productivity. (Meaning: I'm tearing my hair out here.) Can I have my VPN connection and somehow still have my internet connection too? I'm open to any solution.

  • SQL Server 2008 Express + Reporting Services on Windows 7

    I'm trying to install SQL Server Express 2008 and Reporting Services on a x64 Windows 7 Machine for development purposes. I've installed SQL Server 2008 Express with the Microsoft Web Platform Installer I had to manually enable the SQL Server Browser in the Sql Server Configuration Manager and tried to enable the SQL Server Agent but that simply doesn't work. Keeps throwing an RPC error: "The remote procedure call failed. [0x800706be]". The start mode is set to Disabled and I cannot change it. Even though I selected the SQL Server Express with advanced services in the web platform installer I could not find any reference to SQL Server Reporting Services so I used the SQL Server Installation Center x64 application to "upgrade" to SQL Server Express 2008 with advanced services... this installed many things but still I couldn't find any reference to SQL Server Reporting Services other than an application called: "Reporting Services Configuration Manager" This opens up a dialog called "Reporting Services Configuration Connection" which is asking for a server name (shows the name of my machine) and a Find button. When I click the find button I get: "Unable to connect to the Reporting Server WMI provider. Details: Invalid Namespace". I found some references on the web to solve this problem, but they refer to a directory: "%ProgamFiles%\Microsoft SQL Server\MSRS10.SQL2008\Reporting Services\" which does not exist anywhere on my system. (The directories for SQL Server are there, but there is no Reporting Services directory anywhere). What am I doing wrong here? Wasn't the web platform installer supposed to handle all this? Thnx for any advice. PS: Most google results refer to 2005 vs 2008 problems, but I never had 2005 installed on this system, it's a newly installed development machine.

    I find myself tasked with organizing an upgrade of our entire Active Directory from server 2003 to 2008. We run a few AD dependant services such as Exchange 2007 SQL Server 2008 SharePoint 2007 All of which we are looking to bring up to date as well with their most recent versions. The original AD was a little bit of a mess (the exchange upgrade from 2003 left some stuff in the AD database that I make references to servers that no longer exist for example). Here is what I want to accomplish Migrate the domain from our 2003 to a NEW clean 2008r2 domain Upgrade from Sharepoint 2007 to 2010 Upgrade Exchange from 2007 to 2010 My question is, in what order do we do things? Can I do a domain upgrade and simply migrate exchange after? On their own, these objectives are complicated enough, orchestrating them in our company while minimizing downtime is making my head spin. I have done a lot of the research on how to do them individually but I am having trouble figuring out how to do them all in concert.

    Hello I am running a W2K3 x64 server with IIS 7 + FastCGI + PHP 5.3 (x64) I have trouble geting the SQL for php driver to work. It seems it doesn't get loaded, but no error is thrown. I've doublechedked the php.ini a multitude of times and I'm pretty sure I use the right version of the sql for php driver (version 1.1 CTP) and sql native client x64 is installed. Any ideas what could be wrong? Thanks

  • Cannot receive email outside domain with Microsoft Exchange

    This morning we couldn't receive email from outside our company's domain (domain.com.au), but we can send email to outside (e.g hotmail, gmail, yahoo). When I tried to send email to my work email address using my gmail account, I received this message Technical details of permanent failure: Google tried to deliver your message, but it was rejected by the recipient domain. We recommend contacting the other email provider for further information about the cause of this error. The error that the other server returned was: 550 550 Unable to relay for [email protected] (state 14). I tried using telnet to send email, and it works. But still I couldn't figure out why I can't receive email from outside. I'm not sure if I provided enough info. I'll try to provide as much info as needed to help me solve the problem. Thanks

  • Ouya Controller on Windows 8 to Emulate a Microsoft 360 Controller

    I thought I'd create a central repository for those looking to get their OUYA controller working in Windows. Currently there is an underlying Windows driver issue causing the left/right triggers to be recognized as Z-Axis and Z-Rotation as well as button presses. The Xbox 360 Controller Emulator is able to connect to the controller but the underlying driver issue causes the emulated Right Trigger to remain HIGH and consequently unusable by games that look for a 360 controller (eg. Batman Arkham Origins [tested today], all buttons work except the Right Trigger). Has anyone made progress in overcoming this issue? if not would anyone know where to start to modify the controller driver to ignore the z-axis? I was intrigued into investigate this out of interest and because there is no purely bluetooth game controller on the market to my knowledge.

  • iPhone UIWebView: loadData does not work with certain types (Excel, MSWord, PPT, RTF)

    My task is to display the supported document types on an iPhone with OS 3.x, such as .pdf, .rtf, .doc, .ppt, .png, .tiff etc. Now, I have stored these files only encrypted on disk. For security reasons, I want to avoid storing them unencrypted on disk. Hence, I prefer to use loadData:MIMEType:textEncodingName:baseURL: instead of loadRequest: to display the document because loadData allows me to pass the content in a NSData object, i.e. I can decrypt the file in memory and have no need to store it on disk, as it would be required when using loadRequest. The problem is that loadData does not appear to work with all file types: Testing shows that all picture types seem to work fine, as well as PDFs, while the more complex types don't. I get a errors such as: NSURLErrorDomain Code=100 NSURLErrorDomain Code=102 WebView appears to need a truly working URL for accessing the documents as a file, despite me offering all content via the NSData object already. Here's the code I use to display the content: [webView loadData:data MIMEType:type textEncodingName:@"utf-8" baseURL:nil]; The mime-type is properly set, e.g. to "application/msword" for .doc files. Does anyone know how I could get loadData to work with all types that loadRequest supports? Or, alternatively, is there some way I can tell which types do work for sure (i.e. officially sanctioned by Apple) with loadData? Then I can work twofold, creating a temp unencrypted file only for those cases that loadData won't like. Update Looks like I'm not the first one running into this. (Mind you, I'll have to hold the decrypted data in memory, that's the whole point here).

  • Microsoft ISA 2006 Log Extraction Issues

    Hi, We have a client running ISA2006 with logs going to MSDE. The MSDE database gets rotated. We have NO control over the client infrastructure. We need to get the logs out to a TEXT file on the server itself which will be forwarded to a remote server by other software we already have in place. My first thought was doing it via Stored Procs. Another option is vbscript? The actual table holding the logs has no primary key or other identifier so I think the dump should be done once a day for the previous day, but ideally it should run several times a day. Any ideas?

    Intellitype Pro is a nice software that helps me when I'm using my Ms keyboard. When I'm on the road using my laptop's built-in keyboard it interprets some of the keys incorrectly and reacts on them, for instance the Fn + Down Arrow opens Windows Live Messenger (in addition to lowering brightness, which is governed by Dell's driver). I want to stop Intellitype when I'm on the road and reload it when I'm home using the external keyboard. Note: original problem (conflict with itype) posted here.

    I have a small confusion about the differences between the 2 types of set ups: When deploying using Add Roles and Features the Wizard requests to choose from one of two Deployment Scenarios: Virtual machine-based desktop deployment : Virtual machine-based desktop deployment allows users to connect to virtual desktop collections that include published RemoteApp programs and virtual desktops. Session-based desktop deployment : Session-based desktop deployment allows users to connect to session collections that include published RemoteApp programs and session-based desktops. Although this seems intuitive now, if I continue with "Virtual machine-based desktop deployment" I later have another two options when creating a collection: Pooled virtual desktop collection Personal virtual desktop collection This is where my confusion lies. What is the differences between a Session-based deployment and Virtual machine-based deployment with Personal virtual desktop collections? I'm mostly finding information pertaining to Windows Server 2008 but I know there are some core improvements in VDI 2012 so would someone please comment on that. Thank you

In the IME tool bar, there is the option to set the "Input Mode." This is always defaulted to "Direct Input." I would like to default to Hirgana or Katakana. I have found the setting dialog for this, by right clicking on the IME toolbar - settings - Japanese IME Standard - Properties - Default Input Mode. This setting seems to have no effect, no matter the combination of selections in the dialogs. Is there a way to reliably set the default Input Mode?

  • Microsoft Word Document Recovery seems unresolvable

    We work on a server (Windows Server 2003 Enterprise) that a bunch of us developers remote in using Remote Desktop Connection, and now every "other" time I open up word I get this Document Recovery pane: As you can see, "Delete" and "Show Repairs" are disabled (I don't think this is my document). "Open" or "Save As" works, but it never marks this document recovered, it just keeps coming up every "other" time I open up word. I don't even care about this document. How can I remove this document from the list so that it doesn't come up anymore? Update: As per Moab's comment, I had the user delete the file. But the Document Recovery still shows up with that item every other time Word is opened. The only difference now is that clicking on "Open" produces this (obvious) message: How can I clear this list? BTW, the user that owned this document was never getting the Document Recovery pane.

    I am using Ubuntu 9.10 and I am a bit of a robotics enthusiast. I have used KiKS (in MATLAB for simulating Khepera robots), MobotSim (in Windows, simulates a point like robot using a BASIC editor) and Player/Stage (with C/C++ on Ubuntu 9.04). My question, can MS Robotics Studio be installed in Ubuntu Linux using Wine (I am using 1.1.31) ? Has anyone done it ? Any other way to install MS Robotics Studio in Unix (Any flavour) ?     Hello , Created a WCF service as a WebRole using Azure and a client windows application which refers to this service. The Cloud Service is refered to a certificate which is created using the "Hands On Lab" given in windows identity foundation. The Web Service is hosted in IIS and it works perfect when executed. I've created a client windows app which refers to this web service. Since WIF Claims identity is used, I have a claimsAuthorizationManager Class, and also a Policy class with set of defilned policies. The Claims is set in the web.config file. When I execute the windows app as the start up project, the app prompts for authentication, and when the account credentials are given as in the config file, it opens a new "Windows Card Space" Window and Says "Incoming Policy Failed". When I close the window the System throws and Exception The incoming policy could not be validated. For more information, please see the event log.   • Microsoft ISA 2004 - Failed Connection Attempt

    I have an issue where users with Android tablet cannot download apps through ISA 2004. This is what I get from the ISA 2004 logging: I did try to add the source ip address and the destination ip address in All for All Modified rule. However, it does not fix that problem. I also use GFI Web Monitoring. I did add the 151.101.13.80 ip address into the Whitelist, and no luck. What Failed Connection Attempt exactly is? How to overcome this. The Android tablet is throwing an error 495, could not be downloaded. Thanks everyone.

    Hello Apologies if this is already answered, its a tricky one to search for! We are using split DNS for a domain used internally. For the outside nameservers, theres a simple zone with: @ IN A ip.ad.dr.ess www IN A ip.ad.re.ss This works fine externally. Internally its a windows server 2003 DNS server, so the www a record works fine, but I cant figure out how to add that primary record (using at symbol @ in bind). Can anyone help with how to get the same results from windows dns? I just want to be able to add a record for domain.com without being forced to use something.domain.com Thanks, Edit: This domain is not the "main" AD domain, and not used for logins etc.
